Issue in Calender Back up using NSeries and Nokia ...

I am using facing issue in backuping the calender entries of my Nokia N81-8 Gb using Nokia PC Suite 6.85.14.1 as well as Content Copier of NSeries PC SUite 1.6.

In Nseries PC Suite, it gave error message as A critical error occured (0x80100013)...bla bla something, so i tried with nokia pc suite, it didnot backed-up my calender entries... My machine is Windows XP 32bit SP-2. I Connected using USB.... Does anyone facing similar issues on your pc too...Or i am the only one?

Had the same problem with my N95 8GB. It worked on my laptop, but not on my desktop.
Then I installed Nseries v2.0 (it's in the Betalabs section)on my desktop and it works.

Issue connecting to beehive svr using thunderbird and zimbra desktop client

I have setup beehive server (over linux) and the installation went successful. Even i am able to access email accounts via the zimbra webclient. However when i try to configure thunderbird or zimbra desktop client to access the same mail account both return error saying "could not connect to mail server; the connection was refused".
There is a proxy server setup in the LAN here and i have put the server IP in the ignore list still i get the same error (firewal and antivirus are also turned off). Any suggestions what might be wrong with my setup?

I applied the post install steps and got past the above stated hurdle. Now i am able to connect to beehive server using the thunderbird client and receive emails. But still one issue: I am not able to send emails.
When i try to send an email from Thunderbird client i get a error pop-up saying: "Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server bee-server.mydomain.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. ..."
Not sure if this has anything to do with the issue but just something that i noticed:
When i run "beectl list_ports" command the 'property name' for both IMAP and SMTP protocols are set to same name "Port". Is it this that may be causing the problem?? If so how to change this to a different property name?

Issue with correct trajectory reading using Labview and Compumotor

Hi everyone,
I am having some issues with my compumotor/Labview communication and was wondering if anyone had any advice.
My setup is a National Instruments PCI-7432 control board linked to a
UMI-7762 Interface board then I have my driver and motor, the Compumotor
M83-135 R14, serial 18054. When I use the NI Measurement and Automation Explorer and tell it to go at a velocity, the velocity is no where near the commanded value.
It is not returning any errors either, I’ll tell it to do say 500 rpm’s and it will take ~2.5 seconds to make a complete revolution. I can get the motor to spin at a very fast rate so it is working, I just was wondering if there was something wrong that would cause it to deviate so far off the assigned velocity.
I didn't know if I accidentally changed a setting with labview that would cause it not to read the velocity correctly or something like that.

It sounds like one possible issue is that your feedback is not correct. In which case you'll want to check encoder feedback -- disable your motor in software but leave everything connected. Then manually turn the motor and check if the 1-D Interactive section in MAX reports the correct steps per one revolution. If not, then check that the encoder setup section is correct, specifically the encoder counts per revolution.
Also, your motor may need to be tuned, assuming that it hasn't already been tuned. Is your motor a servo or stepper motor? From what I could find online it looks like the M83-135 is probably a servo. Issues when TC backs up MacBook Pro and iMac

I have the TC and the AX in one unit, and use this for wireless network/internet connectivity as well as backups for both an iMac and my MacBook Pro. Time Machine is set to back up hourly on both macs.
Since I have had the TC (I previously backed up on an external HD "My Book"), I have noted that when these machines back up, network connectivity gets much slower, and even my wireless (2.4 GHz) mouse that I use on a PC nearby seems erratic and jerky when try to move it. Is this related to too much traffic on my network for the available bandwidth? If I was to opt for a once-daily (nightly) backup using Time Machine and TC, is it possible to set preferences for that? When entering Time Machine preferences I see the setting for backing up hourly, but no apparent way to change it.
That may help the network connectivity when I'm up and around. It still doesn't explain why the PC mouse is affected unless someone has a theory on that?

Help with Bluetooth internet using PBG4 and Nokia, please!

I have a new Powerbook G4 equipped with Airport and Bluetooth. I'm already set up to use Airport with my standard ISP (Virgin's monthly dial up service, with a specified phone line). We don't have broadband in our village.
I'd like to be able to use my bluetooth phone as a modem when I'm on the road, and can't find a WiFi hotspot. I'd probably be using a PAYG service like Fasthosts or net2roam. Any recommendations or suggestions would be welcome!
I don't have a GPRS package activated, but I just want to occasionally check or send an e-mail, so all I need is to use the phone as a modem.
The G4 and 6320i go through the communications dialogue with an ID number, etc. they then recognise each other but when trying to connect with a couple of different ISPs (one of them was Fasthosts) I get a message that there was no carrier signal.
Do I need to pick a different ISP?
Do I need to be less of a cheapskate and set up GPRS or Orange World, or whetever?
Do Orange need to set up my phone to do something?
Do I need to download some kind of 'script' whatever that is?

You can do it via GPRS (costs money, basically) or via GSM/CSD
I have GPRS working very well now - it was very straightforward and gives connection speeds equivalent to dial up.
My phone needed activating for CSD connection, via a series of SIM updates, and needed to use third party Modem scripts because those included on the G4 were poor.
I still haven't managed to connect via GSM/CSD but anticipate a VERY slow 9 kbps connection speed, and infinitesimal cost.

I am having trouble using reverb of any kind; it does not sound natural, but rather "pixilated." Does anyone have any ideas for a solution? I have used Silververb and Space Designer and am having the same problem...

This is asking for the impossible! It does not sound natural because maybe it isn't and in judging so whats your reference anyway. If you are in dire need of some natural sounding room you can go and record it yourself. But even then, the chances that it sounds like you imagined it, are very slim.
There are very decent sounding reverberation plugins, based on artificial reverb generators or convolution-style, the last one is said to sound more 'natural' then the first one. Be it as it maybe, it really is like cooking food. You got all the ingredients for this delicious taste at hand and believe it or not to reach a satisfying result this is not enough, because if you do not mix the ingredients in the right proportion you will end up with a different dish you thought you'll get. This is exactly the same when one would mix audio, I dare say.
So treat yourself to some good ingredients and the rest is up to you, namely: taste and experience!
And looking at some of my past music productions I always find the same plugins for the 'ambient' task:
Altiverb by Audio Ease when I have acoustic ensembles (classical music mostly), the Sony Oxford Reverb in studio productions, Bricasti when I have to deal with drums and MMultiBandReverb from MeldaProduction for all-round stuff. Thats the base I start from, after that I can end up with dozen Reverb plugins which basically all are doing the same thing but just in a tiny different way.

Apple actually recommended that at least once a month What I've noticed in the iPhones and iPods that when you drain it to 0%, it saves some energy to display that connect to AC source. That's what you get when you turn on your phone or ipod even if it's 0%. That WILL destroy the battery but full cycling wouldn't.

Now, My goal is to send sms using java file called after insert trigger on oracle DB
How can I do this? What I should using socket or....? What I should read? or using any other sms server program or any example.

Note that sending SMS through a mobile device will restrict you to about 7-8 messages per minute (typical).

If you have iPhoto 9.6.1 in your application folder, open it and use it.
I fear that support for iPhoto has ceased, but you can use it as long as you can.

Weird timing issues when playing back a recorded sound file and with synths

Hello there,
I'm having a couple of strange issues with playing back files that I have recorded using MIDI data which is then used to play an external synth which then gets recorded to an audio track which at the time is perfectly synced to a click track.
The problem is (and I really dont get why this is happening) when it comes to playing back the recorded audio file that sometimes it is either behind or ahead of the beat.
This makes absolutely no sense because sometimes it IS in time with the beat and other times when I play through my piece it is obviously out! I haven't moved the audio file in the arrange window and it is a permanent .aiff file that is stored on my hard-drive...what on Earth is going on?
On a side note, the same problem happens with any of Logic's synths when I use an LFO that is supposed to be synced to the beat. Sometimes when I play back the MIDI data it is perfectly synced and in time and other times it is horribly out. It really is just pot luck!
Anyone got any ideas?

I have the LifeProof case for the iPhone5, and I remember the instructions saying that any protective screen cover should be removed before enclosing the phone into the case, but I left mine on with no ill effects.

I had this exact issue. Spent over an hour on the phone with apple support, they couldn't resolve. Here is what I ended up doing, that worked.
1. Turned iTunes match off on all my iOS devices
2. Deleted the offending playlists from the iOS device they originated on
3. Started iTunes, let it run (literally) for an hour before it became responsive. First thing I did, before clicking anywere else was disable iTunes match. If I clicked anywhere, it would clock for another hour.
4. Let iTunes run overnight, by morning it had cleaned out the repeating play lists. This got my Mac/iTunes back to an operable state.
5. Restore iPhones from backup in iTunes.
What was causing my issue was a single playlist that was created on an iPhone, then suddenly showed up with several thousand duplicates on my other iPhone. The culprit playlist did not, for some reason, duplicate itself on my two iPads. Apple support seemed to think it was because the problem iPhone tried to sync the playlist to iCloud over and over again unsuccessfully, then it finally went through and populated the thousands of blank/failed playlists which then tried to propigate to iTunes and my other iOS devices. Seems like a reasonable theory.
I have not yet re-enabled iTunes match. So, no idea what will happen if I decide to go back down that rabbit hole.

Query on STRIP Using DISKUTIL and Data Safty Issues

Here is an interesting (probably DUMB) question based on my current RAID config:
7x500GB (RAID5 - one hdd can go down and no issue) = Vol#1
7x500GB (RAID5 - one hdd can go down and no issue) = Vol#2
The above using Diskutil I have made on STRIP Vol#1+Vol#2 = RAID50.
From the above what are my chances of loosing data based on following three senarios:
1. what if one of the controller fails, will I still see the entire volume
2. what if one of the controller fails, will I loose everything on RAID50 (STRIP)?
3. what if one of the controller fails, I replace the controller with a new one, will I get my data back?
Please advice the above?

You will lose access to the entire volume. The data will be intact but you cannot access the volume (on either controller) until the failed controller is replaced.

No. Your data will be intact. You just can't access it.

Yes. The replacement controller can read the RAID configuration from the drives. Replacing the failed controller will restore access to your volume.
Just for the record I have over a dozen XServe RAIDs (including one of the very first revisions using 180GB drives) all working 24/7 in a production network and have never lost a controller, power supply, or any other component other than one (or maybe two) failed disks. In my experience the failure rate is very low.

Does your external hard drive have it's own power supply? It should.
Is your external hard drive formatted with the NTFS file system? It won't work.
It needs to be formatted either with Mac OS Extended or FAT32.
(There are drivers available to add NTFS support to OS X but their quality is unknown, especially the "free" ones.)
