Issue in displaying two queries in the Excel

Hi,
as per the requirment, I have to keep two queries in the single excel.
Can u please let me know
1. how to do this.
2. If one query has a free characterstic, and if I drilldown what will happen to the display values as the next cell may contain the second query.

Hi,
this cant be achived in Bex reporting ...
the only possible way is to do in WAD reporting
WAD is a platform where you can fetch the reports from more than one Bex query.
when designing the WAD report use diffrent tables with diffrent infoprovider
for example
you have report 1 , report 2 and report 3
when you drag single table and link all the three reports the Out put will be Report1 report2 Report3( with the same infoprovider)
when you Drag three diffrent tables for Report 1 , Report 2 and Report3 with three diffrent infoprovider the out put will be
Report1
Report2
Report 3 so the all the three reports will be placed one below the other

0PA_C01 different results from two queries on the same cube ....

Can you please help with this problems ...
i am running a two queries with the same restrictions e.g
Sep 08 for employee 22345 ,
In one report it shows the Pay Scale level as A1 , then in the other report it shows Pay scale Scale level as A2 ,
looking at the master data in 0employee , the first report is right ... this is how the data looks like in 0employee
Employee Valid from      To                Pay scale Level
222345       2007-11-03   2008-09-30     A1
222345       2008-10-01   9999-12-31     A2
Can someone please shed some light on this , im thinking it has something to do with update rule but even that is supposed to use last date of the month , not 1st day of the following month. The Cube is a stndard cube 0PA_C01 and the update rule aswell .....

Please check in the cube whether the data for the Employee is getting with two values like shown in your question:
Employee Valid from To Pay scale Level
222345 2007-11-03 2008-09-30 A1
222345 2008-10-01 9999-12-31 A2
and also check whether when the data loaded to the cube.
There may be some change in the report structure where the difference is getting may in the column wise or row wise restriction may present.
Please check on the structure of the report also.

Linking two Queries but the values are corrupted

I have started linking two queries from the same Cube. The invoiced value from the pre-query shows the correct value from SAP. When I use this prequery into another query and look at the same invoiced value key figure, the result has changed and is not correct anymore. Please advise what I am doing wrong.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Bhanu, the replacement path is on the Dimension Sales Document. I have tried to use the same variable on the Key Figure Net Value (Invoice). I also tried for a later attempt to use a different Key Figure in the prequery as net weight, just in case they added together.
Am I right that I should be using the same key figure Net Value (Invoice) in both queries?

How to combine two queries in one EXCEL

hi i got one requirement
i got one excel sheet from user which contains two report s(hoe we know whether it is worknook or not) of 2011 data and now user wants 2012 data .now i icluded jan 2012 to dec 2012 in two reports and sent to user.But user is asking these two reports want to see in one sheet.
so how can i proceed: if i go for work book how can i include these two reports in workbook and here my doubt is if i create a workbook based on these two querie which name i have to give user.Please help me out on the same.

Run one query. Click on a empty space in the excel
From the BEx Design Toolbar -
>Insert Analysis Grid -
> Right click on the Design Item
Edit the DataProvider.....You can ran same or different query with selection.
Save the result

Can Pages display two windows of the same document?

Can Pages display two open windows of the same document? In editing my book and looking for duplications of stories or material, it would be very helpful to see side-by-side windows. Is this possible?

"Please may I have multiple views of the same document."
as
"Please delete 90 features from Pages and mangle any old documents it opens."
An easy mistake anybody could make.

Issue with display of Barcode in the report output from different Machines

Hi ,
I have developed a BI Publisher report to print barcode on the output.
I have configured the necessary setup in XML Publisher Responsibility
by following the steps
1) Home --> Administration
a) Create Font Files
Uploaded the ttf file
2. Create Font Mapping Set
"Special Fonts"
3.Created font Mapping under the Mapping set of type "Special Fonts"
4.Provided the Value of Font Mapping Set to ‘FO Processing ‘ under Configuration
Font Mapping Set : Special Fonts
The above configuration works fine and I am able to view the Barcode in the output.
Issue : When I try to run the same concurrent porgram from a different PC ,and if I view the output, I am not able to see the barcode.
Please let me know if anyone has faced issue of such kind.
I guess the above cannot be system specific and please let me know where it is going wrong.

I have the font file and I already put it into C:/Windows/Font folder. I just don't have the option to "Create Font Files".
I try to use this code in a xdo.cfg file:

Hi,
You need to switch to design mode (BEx Analyser Menu - Design Toolbar - Design Mode). For each query that you want to embed, insert an analysis grid item in the workbook. Link each analysis grid to its corresponding data provider (query).

Issues while joining two tables as the joining column has duplicate values - Please help!

I have a table A -which has few columns including a Amount column - I am joining this table A to Table B. The joining column in B has duplicates. So, the number of records are getting more after the joining. As per the requirment when I create a table
after joining the tables and count the salary clumn, there is a difference in the counting. How can I solve this? Can you please help me?

Final result should be 18000 , but it is coming as 44000. can you please help me to get the correct result - what do i do in the joining?
In my real project, i have 5 tables joining, each table have more than 30 columns and few joining tables joining column have duplicates. I have simplified the issue so that i can ask the question clearly. So,while answering, please consider that also in mind.

Layout issue in export multiple queries to single excel

Hi ,
While exporting more than one queries on web template to single excel (with help of HowToWebPrinting document ), i am facing layout problems.
EX. if my web template has 4 queries in below format
A B
C D
where A,B,C,D are different queries
on web printing to single excel, i get all queries in excel but they are in form
A
B
C
D
i.e with distorted layout. Is there a way out to have the exported EXCEL in same layout as that of my report
Any ideas would be appreciated in this regard.

But in my system, i have z_print_help_service & not z_print_service. Is it something that is missing.
To add to it, i have one more issue.
I have a strange scenario.
In some webtemplates, when i do export , my all data is coming.
In some alternate columns are coming on export in one row
& other row its fine, while on web report all columns are existing .
Has anybody faced missing data on export .
Unless this problem gets resolved, we can't be sure of what is being produced & won't be able to implement. Below are lines i am using
in each template.

Hi,
You need to creat a workbook.
Start the BEX Analyzer.
Open a Query
Save as workbook.
Add new sheet (tab) using (Excel) Insert --> Worksheet
position cursor select Query area by dragging mouse
Insert Analysis Grid --> Right Mouse click --> properties
Fill in Pop-up to select Query
Etc.

Display two rows at the same time

Hi,
How can I show on page two rows (same iterator) at the same time.
I can create on page input attributes and than in backing bean create two rows for iterator when I inserting data.
(or when showing data get two rows from iterator in backing bean and set value for input attributes)
Is there another way?

I'm using ADF Web Services and I call method with array parametar.
User have to create two record using form (not table) and records must be visible at the same time.
I'm calling method that return array with two records, too.
I can show both record in table but I have to display them using form.

Display two characteristics in the same column

Hi everyone,
I have two cubes that store key figures in two different ways.
In the first cube I have several key figures like "Amount in Local Currency", "Amount in Document Currency" etc. these have the currency characteristics "Local currency"(0LOC_CURRCY) and "Document Currency"(0DOC_CURRCY) associated with them.
In the second cube I have one key figure "Amount" and a characteristic "Currency Type" that has the values "Local Currency" and "Document Currency". The key figure is associated with the characteristic "Currency"(0CURRENCY).
I have a report demand that requires me to collect values (Document Currency) from both reports and the report should also be drilled down on the characteristic "Currency". Now the demand is for one characteristic for Currencies and I would like to know what my options are.
The only two ideas that I have is
1. Add a new custom characteristic "Document Currency" in both cubes and populate it with the Document Currency.
2. Create a virtual characteristic that combines both characteristics into one.
None of these options are very appealing to me and I was wondering if there is a third option which I have missed?
I could also mention that I am doing this query in Bex Analyzer.

Validating the first two columns of a excel file when importing?

Hi everyone,
I have an excel file in the presentation server which has to be uploaded into prog.First the user adds a additonal column in the excel file.
For example the excel file is intially in this way,
col1 col2 col3 col4 col5
Now the user adds one more column 'colx' in the excel sheet and he will upload it into the prog.Before uploading programatically we have to validate that the first two columns of the excel file should be col1 colx(the newly added one).How can I do it?

I have one more problem.Now in the excel file I may have only 5 columns in the future it may have more than that.So the internal table which will hold the uploaded values from excel file should be dynamic.I can't declare the internal table with 5 or 6 columns like that.If the user adds some columns in the excel file and upload it,the internal table should hold these columns also.
i hope u understood my requirement.Can u give me any ideas.If u have any sample code for this kind of requirement.

I'd like to know what the disadvantages are of having two queries in the same worksheet of a workbook. Is it correct that the results of one query can overflow to the area of the second? How about issues with authorization, are there any?

HI,
Yes, result of one can flow over the other if you are using simple report with characteristics and output may vary.
Actually you apply basic Excel logic and its like 2 diff report on it.
Mostly you add more Fixed format reports to a single sheet. So that number of report rows dont increase and also you dont have any free characteristics to drilldown.
About authorization, that depends on individual reports. If a user doesnt have proper authorization for 1 of the reports then that report would throw error while other would show result.

Hi Raj,
You can execute 2 queries in one work book.First execute one query,place the cursor under query results area,go to tools->Insert query->execute.Save->Save existing work book.
When ever u open the work book u have to execute both the queries.Instead of executing twice you can use some options, so that it saves and reuses the input values and automatically refresh the queries when u open the work book(If the input values are fixed).
For that right click->Properties->Intraction tab
You can see 4 check boxes.check all boxes,ok for all queries and save.So when u open the work book it retrieves data.No need to give input values
