Issue in generation of Change Document - ChaRM

Dear All,
We are implementing ChaRM, I have copied the standard transaction type to z.
I am able to create request for change with transaction type zmcr but when the normal change or urgent change document are created they have standard transaction type.
I have made the changes in SPRO (Defining copy control of transaction type) but still document are getting generated with standard transaction type.
Please attached document of copying control.

Change documents cannot be generated

When trying to approve an admin charm we are getting warning : change documents cannot be generated
Diagnosis
Change Documents cannot be generated.
System Response
The status is reset, the action is canceled.
Procedure
Your Change Request Document contains data which cannot be used for the generation of the follow-on change documents.
Please check the following possible errors:
The chosen project in project field of the 'Details' assignment block is a project without a maintenance cycle or the assigned maintenance cycle is in a status where the generation of Change Documents are not allowed. The generation of projects is for example not allowed if the project is in a final status.
If possible, change the project or choose a phase in the maintenance cycle which allows the generation of Change Documents. If this is not possible, this project cannot be used.
The 'Scope' assignment block contains scope items for with a chosen IBase which is not the IBase of the productive system in the one (or more) logical components assigned in the chosen project. This is only relevant for the change category 'Urgent Correction', 'Normal Correction' and 'Administrative Change'.
Choose the right IBase for the change category scope item.
If a change is not possible because the Change Request was approved and the fields are not edit able, set the Change Request to 'Validation'. Then the data can be changed and the Change Request can be approved again.

Have you checked all the possible errors stated as in your error?
1. Do you have proper auth to create, proper system assigned with the dev role and ibase created?
2. is it new CR or you are trying to extend the scope? if this case, what is the status of CR? check out
ChaRM: RfC process stuck at "Being Implemented"
3. whether your project has the valid maintenance cycle assigned? you can check in solar_project_admin maintenance cycle is open ?
4. what is the phase status of maintenance cycle and project cycle. check this allows to create CD, with the status as development with release ?

Activating Workflow for Change Documents

I am working in cProjects 4.0 on ECC6.
I am working on the scenario of automatic email generation when change document is created for project element.
I have used sample workflow WS28700006 and following settings have been made :
1. Make the required settings in the SAP menu under Tools → Business Workflow →
Development → Definition Tools → Events → Event Creation → Change Documents
→
a. Overview (transaction SCDO)
Enter DPR_PROJECTS in the table.
b. Define Workflow Properties (transaction SWED)
Enter the following data:
Change document object DPR_PROJECT
Leading table in change document DPR_PROJECT
Change document key with structure DPR_PROJECT
Action: Change X
Structure DPR_TS_BUSINESS_OBJECT_KEY
Function module BAPI_BUS2175_OBJECT_KEY_SET
c. Linkage (transaction SWEC)
Enter the following data:
Change document DPR_PROJECT
Object category BOR object type
Business object type BUS2175
Event CHANGED
On change X
In cProjects I have I have attached word document, and another user changed it and changed document again checked in again with overwriting the old one.
But no workflow triggerd. In SWI1 transaction I cannot see any workflow triggered.
Is there any problem with workflow and process or changing document in cProjects is not write ????

Hi Niraj,
Please ensure that you have made IMG setting for cProjects > Basic Settings>'Activate Change Documents'.
'Change Documents' means that any change in the Project Objects will be recorded, and not the changes in the documents that have been attached.
I am not too sure about the workflow settings that you have made, but just try with the img activity that I've mentioned. You can test the same by making some changes in Project ( for eg change the Project Status) and save it.

Regarding change document generation

Hi,
In t-code SCDO, for one object class STUE_V I have added one new table MAST and generated the same. But while I execute my t-code CS01, the same is not appearing in exporting parameters in the standard program where it is calling my generated fucntion module.
Hence it is giving dump. This is part of BOMMAT idoc change pointer creation.
Could someone shed some light on this as I am really stuck here.

Have you tried generating after adding the table in the class ? This is more a generation issue. Might be the include LCSVBF30 has not got properly generated.
What I feel is if you are adding a table to a standard class then you must also change the code yourself and SAP is not changing the where used list of the update function calls.

ChaRM Scenario: Workbench and Customizing CR in the same Change Document

We use the ChaRM scenario of Solution Manager 3.2 to manage the transport request for the R/3 landscape.
We have two different project with two different landscape:
- the first one is used for customizing purpose ED1/010 - EQ1/010 - EP1/010
- the second one is for workbench purpose ED1/011 - EQ1/010 - EP1/010
We usually assign a Change Request each Change Document.
Assigning the Change Document to a maintenance cycle (owned by a SolMan Project) to assigne the CD/CR to the right source client.
Sometime we need to create a Change Document that contains two CR one for customizing purpose the other one for workbench purpose.
Is this possible using ChaRM standard features ?

Hi Martin,
Solmaniacs' assumptions are correct. You can have as many source clients as you want.
As long as
- STMS configuration (transport routes, and domain links) are consistent
- SMSY configuration (logical components are declared properly with assigning the right role types to systems/clients)
- Project declaration are done correctly (so that from Solman solar_project_admin you can read the STMS as confiured in the distant STMS domain)
- IMPORTANT: those configuration GO ALONG with each other !! (SMSY should nt contradict STMS for example...)
The tasklist that is generated for each Solman project will be as follow
- Node 1: Header Tasks (commun to all systems)
- Node x: Corresponding to track x declared in Project (each Source System will have his own node with the corresponding track under)
- Node x+1
- Node ...
- Last Node : Tasks for Tasklist closure - checks on scma consistancy and CTS projects closure
So you'll always have n+2 nodes in your tasklist; n beeing the number of declared source (=dev) systems in project
For each action launched from change docuemnts like creation of TR, release of TR or Retrofit (as Solmaniac said) you'll have an additional pop-up that will appears letting you choose the system you want to use for the action

Change Document program Generation

We are trying to capture changes to several ECC tables. We want to capture any change to that table. We want to know what kind of change (Insert, delete or update) and then the key of the record that has changed. Our goal is to capture the most updated information from a table after a change. In order to achieve that we are using a process in which change document objects are created and changes are logged as change document in CDHDR and CDPOS tables. I have generated a program to extract data from CDPOS and CDHDR table. The following link describes the whole process of change log enablement

I have included the generated /TEST/FZXXXXXXXXXXXXXCDT and /TEST/FZXXXXXXXXXXXXXCDC
to the main program of function module SAPLZxxxxx. But I am getting syntax error in the Include /TEST/FZXXXXXXXXXXXXXCDC xxxxxx variable is not in the main program.
I need some help on this:
a.       As per SAP response what steps are left?
b.       Is there any other configuration step that we need to perform? The attached document talks about transactions SWED, SWEC and SWO1 in appendix D: Connecting Change document to work flow. We would like to understand if it will be relevant to our enablement work or can we by pass this and still be able to enable the change document logging for our tables

Instead of the main program SAPLxxx, try to put include /TEST/FZXXXXXXXXXXXXXCDT into the TOP include of the main program. TOP include porgram name would be like LxxxxTOP. Try to compile it again.

CHARM how to add new user status to change document

Asides from the obvious adding of a new status to status profile SDADHEAD, you may want to have a look at the SPRO activities:
SAP Solution Manager
-> Scenario-Specific Settings
-> Change Request Management
   -> Extended Configuration
    -> Change Request Management
     -> Change Transaction
      -> Change Transaction Types
        o Define Status Attributes
Also activity "Make Settings for Change Transaction Types" in the same path is important.

Issue in creating Change Document.

Hi,
I am trying to create a Change Document using transaction SCDO to track changes in data records some of my own custom Z tables.
When we create a new change doc, you have to give the the Customer namespace and the name of the object.
But when i do a F4 on the the list of Customer namespace and select any of the namespaces marked for Customers, ( and give the name of the doc, it says that the namespace given is not allowed.
Any one done this before and can help ??

Hi Anju,
Don't enter anything in the field NAMESPACE . Just fill in the Change document object and Continue.
You have to fill the NameSPACE if required only.

Error while approving change document(TR lost project code)

Hi All,
I am having issue in change document approval, when we are approving change document for unit testing or if release management approving change for pre-production or production approval, we are getting error, I started coming from last two days only,\
when I did detail analysis, in all transports project code related to change document, disappear
although if I create new change document, project code appear,
Do we have way to solve this issue?, I even not able to decouple the transport from change document, it giving error, do we have way where we can resync change document and transport?

Do anyone have some solution for this issue?, it is bigger than I thought, I can check it impacted all systems, and all transports, all transports seems to issue they lost project code in it we rollover maintenance cycle last week and this problem started from their, we put charm master note and few other charm fixes(notes) last week,
this problem not coming any new change document, but all change document created before rollover impacted

Problem while generating Update progam for a Change Document Object

Hi,
I'm trying to deal with Change Document concept in a R/3 4.6C environment and to establish new Change Document object for my (Z)-table. I haven't using any namespace and created object with name ZTEST. Following the online documentation I came to the point, where I have to generate include program. I made all the nessesary inputs (using Z prefix) but faced
"Function module name is reserved for SAP"
Creating everything similarily using some of our registered namespaces (/somenamespace/) I succeed to generate the Update program and to integrate it in my Z-programs as well.
My question is: is it possible to use Change Document Object-names without predefined namespace - being a regular customer developer, but not an SAP developer - means, if I am allowed to manage programs in the customer namespace (Z,Y, X) only. If yes, how to do this?
Further (I decided not to open a new thread) - generated Update program uses
CALL FUNCTION 'xxxxx' IN UPDATE TASK
for creation of Change Numbers for generated Change Document Object. This CALL doesn't work when I implemented it in my Z-program, but when changed (IN UPDATE TASK was commented) - everything goes well and the system creates records in CDHDR/CDPOS tables for my object class and table.
Why is that? According to the documentation I shoud only fill appropriate variables for the Change Document Object (class, tr.code, etc.) and call generated FM, nothing is pointed out about any possible problems? Am I doing something wrong?
Well, to be precise, I think I have to give a sample:
1. I have a sample Z-table with few fields (their data elements are marked as Change-Document relevant).
2. Using own z-progam I created a new record for this z-table. Also fill all the nessesary variables included in the interface of generated FM for Change Document Object (for example - FM-mane CD_CALL_my_object).
3. I call the CDO FM.
4. Check what is happening (directly in both tables CDHDR/CDPOS or using FM CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ).
Further, I perfom the steps from 1 to 4 updating the created in previous loop record in my Z-table.
In both cases if the FM 'CD_CALL_my_object' is called IN UPDATE TASK nothing happens, but in case of direct call (without addition IN UPDATE TASK) the system behaves as expected. Well, obliously I can change the generated code for our production needs, but it doesn't seems to be the correct decision - in case of next possible modification of the Change Document Object definition, respectively in need of re-generation of the code.
Any hints are wellcome.

"IN UPDATE TASK" resolved by myself. The one should explicitly call 'COMMIT WORK' from Z-program after CALL FUNCTION '...' IN UPDATE TASK in order to get changes in the CDHDR/CDPOS commited. The key in this issue for me was to check the documentation of CALL FUNCTION :-).

Restrict creation of Change Document without a change request

Hello Experts,
Is there a way within Charm to restrict the creation of a change document through crmd_order or a business transaction and instead force the creation of all change documents to start from a change request? Some users are bypassing the approval process through sdcr and are using the push button in crmd_order to create a normal correction without having the change approved.
Please advise on a possible solution to fixing this issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. The problem is that the individuals that have access to create an SDMJ or SDHF are the ones creating them directly from crmd_order instead of through the sdcr approval process. From what you are saying I guess there is no way to force them to go through sdcr instead of creating an sdmj directly from crmd_order if they already have access to create a change document?

Cannot cancel Urgent Change document in Solman 7.1

Hi all,
After we upgraded to Solman 7.1, we found that the Urgent Change documents in CHARM are not allowed to be withdrawn/cancelled when tranports have already been imported to QA system.
In previous Solman 7.0, we were able to cancel/withdraw Urgent Correction documents using report CRM_SOCM_SERVICE_REPORT even when transports has already been moved to QA.
Any idea how we can cancel Urgent Change documents in Solman 7.1?

The question is how to do it? the end-user when open a CR will not do it and the receiver (service desk) can not waste his tiem doing it
Its a consulting issue.....not technical...who shd do is more like a process....so you know better in your current case.

Ibase component don't copy from RfC to change document

Hi, experts!
I copied standard roles for ChaRM.
When Change manager release for development RfC, proper ibase component don’t copy to change document.
It occurs if I use copied roles.
I don't see miss authorization in ST01.
Have you any idea why it happens?

I made customizing for copy control.
I have this issue only if use role for change manager. If I do these steps with full authorizations ibase
component copy without any problem. Unfortunately I can’t find miss authorizations.

How to use change document object ?

I am learning to use the Change Document object for one of my Z table. I have created a change doc object using SCDO. I have now written a test report in which i am issuing the SELECT statement for fetching old and new values from the Z table and passing them to the FM generated by SCDO.
I am not able to see the changes in the CDHDR and CDPOS tables. I am doubtful abt the values being passed to the FM. Here are the values i am passing:

Well, i found a way out for the problem i was facing. I was not setting the "UPD_ZTEST_CLE " FM parameter. When i set it to 'U', the changes got reflected in the CDHDR and CDPOS tables.
Can i reward myself as i solved this by myself ???
