Issue in Global Employment (IT0706)

Hi
We are implementing Global Employment (ECC 5.0), and have decided not to use IT0706 (Compensation Package Offer). But when we perform action 'Host Activation', we get an Information message at the end of the action saying that 'no IT0706 was found'.
We want to suppress this message. Any ideas as to how this can be achieved?

Vikas Bhatia

Hi,
I just found your thread while searching some information about GE. If still relevant: I think you must activate it in Table T77S0.

I have set up every thing OK in system for Management of Global Employment, and i could run the flow of actions like Expatriation Planning, Activation and all other actions related with.
MY question is, when ever i am trying to save IT0706 i am getting error message for the "HOME" and "HOST" subtypes, i am sure that if i am able to trace one error of one subtype , i would be able to trace the other subtype error. So currently i am focusing only on one subtype.
Whenever i try to save IT0706 it throw error message and asks me to maintain the tables "T76MGE_ACPI" and "T76MGE_BCPI" when actually go to SM30 and try to maintain these tables, (i could notice that these tables are only allowed to maintain through SM30 and not through IMG)
The input values for these two tables are the drop down comes from navigation path "Management of Global Employees > Compensation Package > Compensation Package Items > Define Compensation Package Items"
when i actully go and see, i DID HAVE my values maintained in this table, but they dont default in above mentioned two tables. "T76MGE_ACPI" and "T76MGE_BCPI" where i am doing mistake is clue less to me and neex your help. - appreciate any insight to it.
If i could maintain IT0706 without errors, i am done with my configuration

Not much help, i have already gone through this., I got one more clue as i dig more into system, i should be able to maintain the Table T76MGE_CPI. This table also again not editable either through SM30 or IMG node (still figuring out)
So you may look at the direction of the ways to maintain this table.
    Thanks for your look

  • Global Employment

For Global Employment, How do we configure and which schema we will run? Suppose an employee is working in US and had been sent to UK for a year.  Will we run both schemas(U000 & G000) for the employees?

  • Time Zone issues in Global Instance

    Hi,
Can someone give best practice in addressing issues in Global instance due to change in date & time.
    Say
    1) A user is in America and system time zone is GMT
    2) Order screen: sched ship date shown based on user preference as GMT-5hrs. Say it is 30-Jun-2008 7:30 pm
    3) However, in the back end the data is stored as 1-Jul-2008 12:30 AM
    4) This certainly seems to have an impact to standard date fields.
    5) This also seems to have impact on effectivity dates which don't have timestamp. Eg, pricelist effectivity end date = 30-Jun-2008. The pricelist becomes ineffective at 7 PM EST because of system time zone being GMT.
Any pointers to address such issues, would be of great help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
below is an answer from Oracle on similar issue regarding timezones:
Oracle E-Business Suite version 11i10 or higher
1 Oracle RDBMS 9i or higher
2 The database must be configured to use the time zone file
'timezlrg.dat' rather than the 'timezone.dat' file
3 The database must be started in the standard corporate time zone
4 Profile 'Server Timezone' (SERVER_TIMEZONE_ID) must be set at the Site
level, and must be set to the same standard corporate time zone as the
    database
5 Profile 'Client Timezone' (CLIENT_TIMEZONE_ID) must be set at the user
    level
6 Profile 'Enable Timezone Conversions' (ENABLE_TIMEZONE_CONVERSIONS)
must be set to 'Yes' ('Y') at the Site level.
7 Profile 'Concurrent: Multiple Time Zones' (CONC_MULTI_TZ) should be
set to 'No' (N) at the Site level
8 Environment variable FORMS60_APPSLIBS must be set in the Forms tier
(this has always been a requirement for 11i)
9 Forms must be launched through the Personal Home Page or Navigate portlet

  • Global Employment - employee selection in ESS

    Hi,
We are implementing global employment for ESS. So far everything is working fine, but I have one question. Their is message popup if an employee has multiple employee numbers. The popup comes up correctly but their is a strange message "message.MULTIPLE1" and "message.CHOOSE1". It looks like the message has not been entered in the R/3. Anybody has ideas? Are there any notes about this?
    Cheers,
    Onno

    Hi Onno
You may be able to change this text using Personalization - Ctrl and Right mouse button on the UI element
(this can be done at user level or globally in the PCD)
Alternatively I would see if the problem still occurs on the latest stack - check also none of your XSS
or BPs are running a null SP

  • Global Employment questions

    Hello,
I have 2 questions on Global Employment.
    1) Infotype 702 is used for documents. The infotypehas a text field where we can specify the location of the document, but is there any way to store the document itself in 702 or anyother global infotype? Does any infotype support this feature at all?
    2) I have created an empty implementation for BAdI: HRPAD00MGEACTIVATION in customer namespace, but the activation actions: 80 thro' 85 do not show in Actions list. Is there any additonal requirement (all business functions and switches are active)
Your help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hello Renee,
I'm trying also to bypass the compensation package within MGE. Did you succeed in doing this ?
Looks like there's not many people succeeding in implementing MGE :o(

  • Activation of Global Employment

    Hello,
We are activating the Global Employment functionality for Master data maintenance. As per SAP Note 662136, the following needs to be done.
''To activate the desired functions, you have to activate the following line in the CHECK_RELEASED method of the CL_HRCE_MASTERSWITCHES class first:   ce_is_released = true.
Where can I find CL_HRCE_MASTERSWITCHES class? What exactly need to be done here? Please guide.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Go to SE24 transaction.
Mention CL_HRCE_MASTERSWITCHES as the object type.
    Display.
Double click on the CHECK_RELEASED method.
In order to implement this method you need an object-relevant access key via Service.sap.com - Keys&Requests - SSCR keys - Register object.
When you have the key un-comment the line "ce_is_released = true"

  • Diffrence between concurrent & global employment

    hi
would appreciate can one help me about the difference between concurrent & global employment
    thanks & regards
    gayathri n

    Hi
Global employment functionality - is to manage short term or long term cross -country employee movements. Basically to manage the expatriation and repatriation process for an employee within a  global company.
Concurrent employment - is to manage more than one assignment (contract) for an employee within the country. These assignments can be within the same organisation or separate organisations. Although there is a limitation on how much information can be stored if the employee is engaged by separate companies. If the employee has more than one assignment within a company it gets better to manage in SAP. Example an employee working as a secretary for fixed hours in one department and remaining hours of  her working time as an office assistant for  another department within the same organisation. There are tax implications in doing multiple assignments and hence payroll gets complex in these scenarios. At the moment only Canada & US payroll can be run for Con-current employees in SAP. For UK SAP has an alternate solution called Multiple employment (ME). Though SAP claims ME is stable for UK payroll, it gets very difficult to set up and get it working without problems.

  • Issues with Global Address Book and Out of Office saying Exchange is Offline.

So we have an Exchange 2010 server that has been running fine for quite a few years. We recently changed our firewall to an ASA 5510 and created all the firewall rules necessary to have email work through it. Everything works fine so naturally we thought
    everything was good to go.
Then I started getting messages that the Out of Office wasn't working an that when users where trying to set their away message they would get a message from outlook that the exchange server was unavailable, yet when I
check the outlook client it would say Connected to Microsoft Exchange at the bottom. I thought this was crazy so I started looking further into it and it turns out that the name for the server owa.xxxxxx.net points to a public address, which of course lives
on the outside interface to the ASA. In ASA world it doesn't like private space (ie. 192.168.x.x) talking to the outside interface and drops the packets, where our old firewall did not. So as a short term fix I had the users using OWA site with a internal
address to set their out of office message. This worked fine until today when I rebooted the email server and started getting support calls saying that when users where selecting the To: button in a new email that once again they were getting messages saying
that they were not connected to exchange, yet they once again outlook said they were. I then started playing with the host name owa.xxxxxx.net again. This time I changed the hosts file on a box and pointed the internal IP of the exchange server to that
host name. Restarted the outlook client and things started to work as they should. I have played with split DNS to see if this would help so I wouldn't have to do this with every client in the network, and it was promising until I realized that we many hosts
that use this domain and an external DNS server that takes care of these requests that now the internal users will never reach. Funny part is that if we take one of our laptops out side the network everything works fine as well.
So I'm guessing that some of the processes that connect Outlook to Exchange use the FQDN of the server or IP address, and that other things such as the Global Address Book and Out of Office use the External Host Name.
Any help to point these request at the Internal FQDN/IP would be great, or if someone can think of another way of dealing with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Titan,
correct me if i have missed something but are users able to look up contacts in GAL?
If you update (ex mobile number for a user) then run the following commands(one for each line):
       Get-GlobalAddressList | update-GlobalAddressList
       Get-AddressList | update-AddressList
    Get-OfflineAddressBook | Update-OfflineAddressBook
Restart Your Outlook  in 5 min, then do a manual OAB download. Is info on that user updated?
    Does GAL from frm OWA?
if im not wrong,Status and Out of Office use EWS for status update.
    Please run the following command:
Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -Identity “mailserver01\EWS (Default Web Site)” |fl *internalUrl*
where mailserver01 is the server that is having the issue.
Then please check if internal URL is correct for that server (and those that are having issues.
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you. Thank you! Off2work

  • Issue where Global Address book cannot be searched on IPhone6

    Good Morning,
Our CEO has been having a recurring problem where he is not able to search our Global Address book on his IPhone6.  Last time he had the issue, they made some sort of setting change on his phone and it worked.  Now it is not working again, but
they want to rule out an Exchange\Active Sync problem.
His Exchange account is setup on his IPhone (which is company issued).
Composes a new email.  He types in the first few letters of the last name and it should bring up all possible matches from our Address book.  This is not happening.  If it is someone he has emailed prior, the autofill will bring up their name.
I have a company issued Android phone and I have not had the issue.
Looked in the ECP and his phone is listed and is synching as it should. Is there anything as an Exchange admin that I can look at to determine what can be the problem.  My personal feeling is that this is something that was changed on his device, but
being he is the CEO, we must do our due dilligence.
    Thank You
    Brian Dougherty

    Hi Brain,
Do you have more users reporting the same issue in your company, i am suspecting a client issue until you see more ppl are coming back and reply, could you review the article below?
    http://contact-outlook.itrezzo.com/2014/05/Global-Address-List-iPhone-Search-vs-Sync.html
or you want to post the question in the 'Apple' - support forum.
My target would be to check on the client then on server to start with.

  • Direct Path Loading Issues with Global Temporary Tables - OCI & OCILib

I am writing some code to import data into a warehouse from a CPU grid which computes risk data. Due to the fact a computing grid is used there will be many clients which can load the data concurrently and at any point in time.
Currently the import uses Binding in OCCI and chunking with a prepared statement to import the data into a global temporary table in a staging area after which a stored procedure is called within the same session which will process the data and load the data into a star schema.
The GTT has the advantage that if any clients have issues no dirty data will be left and each client only sees their own instance of the data.
I have been looking at using direct path loading to increase the performance of the load and have written some OCI code to perform the same task. I have manged to import the data into a regular heap based table using the OCI direct path apis. However when I try and use the same code to import against a Global Temporary Table I get an OCI Error (ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [6979], [16], [1], [1318528], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [])
I get error when the function OCIDirPathPrepare is executed. The same issue occurs in both OCI and OCILib.
Is it not possible to use Direct Path Loading against a Global Temporry Table ? Because you can use the /*+ APPEND */ hint and load global temporary tables this way from tools like SQL Devloper / toad which is surely informing the SQL Engine to use Direct Path ?
Looking at the table USER_OBJECTS I can see that for a Global Temporary Table the DATA_OBJECT_ID is null. Does this mean that it is impossible to us a direct path load into Global Temporary Tables ?
Any ideas / suggestions would be really appreciated. If this means redesigning the application then I would appreciate suggestions which would allow many client to quick write processes in a parallel fashion. If this means creating a new parition in a Heap Table for each writer and direct path loading into this table then so be it.
    Thanks

Replying to my own message in case anyone else is interested.
I have now managed to successfully load data using direct path into a global temporary table with OCI. There appears to be no reason why this approach will not work.
I loaded data into the temporary table and then issued a select count(*) on the table from within the session and from a new session. The results were as expected.
The resaon for the ORA-006000 error was due to the fact that I had enabled table level parallel loading
    ie
    OCIAttrSet((dvoid *) context, (ub4) OCI_HTYPE_DIRPATH_CTX, *(ub1) 1*, (ub4)0, (ub4) OCI_ATTR_DIRPATH_PARALLEL, errhp)
When loading a Global Temporary Table the OCI_ATTR_DIRPATH_PARALLEL attribute needs to be zero
This makes sense, since the temp table does not have any partitions so it would not be possible to write in parallel to multiple paritions.

  • Scalability issue with global temporary table.

    Hi All,
Does create global temporary table would lock data disctionary like create table? if yes would not it be a scalable issue with multi user environment?

    acadet wrote:
am I correct in interpreting your response that we should be using GTT's in favour of bulk operations and collections and in memory operations? No. I said collections cannot scale. This means due to the fact that collections reside in expensive PGA memory, you cannot stuff large data volumes into them. Thus they do not make an ideal storage bin for temporary data (e.g. data loaded from file or a web service). GTTs otoh do not suffer from the same restrictions, can be indexed and offer vastly better scalability and so on.
Multiple passes are often needed using such a data structure. Or filtering to find specific data. As a GTT is a SQL native, it offers a lot more flexibility and performance in this regard.
And this makes sense - as where do we put out persistent data? Also in tables, but ones of a persistent and not temporary kind like a GTT.
Collections are pretty useful - but limited in size and capability.
    Rudra states:
I want to pull out few metrices from differnt tables and processing itIf this can't be achieved in a SQL statement, unless Rudra is a master of understatement then I would see GTT's as a waste of IO and programming effort. I agree.
My comments however were about choices for a temporary data storage bin in PL/SQL.I agree with your general comments regarding temporary storage bins in Oracle, but to say that collections don't scale is putting to narrow a definition on scaling. True, collections can be resource intensive in terms of memory and CPU requirements, but their persistence will generally be much shorter than other types of temporary storage. Given the right characteristics, collections will scale and given the wrong characteristics GTT's wont scale.
As you say it is all about choice. Getting back to the theme of this thread though, the original poster should be made aware that well designed and well coded applications are most likely to scale. Creating tables on the fly is generally considered bad practice and letting the database do what it does best, join tables in queries at the SQL level is considered good practice. The rest lies somewhere in between and knowing when to do which is why we get paid the big bucks (not). ;-)
