Issue in Iviews creation in portal

Hi,
I am working on Portal 7.01 SP3.I am facing problem in creating iviews.
When I want to create new iviews I go to "Content Administration" > Select appropriate folder under PCD > Right-click, select "New" > "iView" >
Here I get the option to select the radio button from Iview template,Portal Component and Webdynpro Java application.
But when I select the Iview template I do not get the option to select the type of iview and proceed.
After a long time I get the message "No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."
Please suggest.

Thanks for the reply.
I have checked the permissions told by you to the templates folder.But still the problem exists.
Also when I checked the for Permissions for Appl folder from System Admin -> Permissions,there are no folders displayed.

WD Java iView Creation Question/Issue - CE 7.1 EHP 1 Trial

Hi all,
Im posting this question here seeing as that the issue has arrised on an installation of the AS JAVA and EP shipped with CE 7.1 EHP1 Trial.
When attempting to create an iView for a deployed custom WD Java app on the trial Portal I am taken straight to the iView template selection without being given the options for iView creation( ie. create from template, portal component or WD Java app). Is this by design ( WD Java iView creation has changed from previous Portal versions or is limited in Trial installation), is this an issue with the components shipped with the Trial or an issue on my installation only?
Currently my only solution for deploying WD java content is to copy the actual application and paste it as Portal content which then creates a WD Proxy page with a single WD Proxy iView (that of the copy pasted WD app). This is fine for single app scenarios but becomes an issue with multiple apps on one page and drag and relate scenarios.

Creation of Portal iview, with BSP on internal server, call portal external

Hi all,
folowing issue:
we have a test portal link with the internet via apache reverse proxy:
e.g. http://www.xxx.at/irj   is linked with http://cscinternal.csc.com:51000/irj
The portal can be started without any problem.
further we have a bsp applikation on an other internal SAP Server which can be reached with
http://cscinternal02.csc.com:8047.
the server is also listed in the apache reverseproxy list as   http://www.xxx.at/its
The bsp application link: http://www.xxx.at/its/sap/bc/bsp/sap/y_test_pdf_01/main.htm
can be reach via internet without any problem.
The bsp shows an radiobutton list + button, with the button one can show a list in an second window.
so, now i will call this bsp in an iview via portal
01. i tried the "URL iview", result: i can reach the html but on any action the side do nothing
02. i tried to config "iview BSP" BUT .... i have now idea what system i should put in,
     the second sap system is configured but there is the internal name in (i guess) ...
so i'm newbee in portal things, so i don't know where i can configure a system ...,
BUT beside this, PLEASE can anyone describe me how i can manage this internal BSP
in the portal to call it from external?

Hi Mike,
Try below steps to make sure your have proper connection between Portal and back end SAP system.
1) Create a system object , Enter required details for "Web Application Server" Properties with below two options
          A) Enter Direct SAP Server details
          Web AS Host Name : cscinternal02.csc.com:8047
          Web AS Path: /its/sap/bc/bsp/sap
          Web AS Protocol: http
         B) Enter apache reverseproxy
          Web AS Host Name : www.xxx.at/its
          Web AS Path:/sap/bc/bsp/sap
          Web AS Protocol: http
2) Create a Alias . Run the connection test for Web Application Server (WAS). Make sure connection tests are successfull
3) Create a BSP Iview ,
BSP Definition Type: Application
Selct System Alias
Customer Namespace: sap
Application NameSpace: sap
Business Server Page (BSP) Application: y_test_pdf_01
Start Page: main.htm

Portal Installed - Slow iView creation etc

Hi,
We have just completed the installation of the production EP 7 (2004s) on a new blade server.
Config
4 Swap Drives of 5GB each
OS - 2003 Server standard edition SP1 on C Drive (12GB)
EP instance installed on a separate netapps drive (40GB)
*4GB RAM
In creating a simple new iView it takes 3-4 minutes.
What could be the reason? Is there a mechanism to improve performance?
In our previous portal implementation (EP 6) the iView creation etc is very fast. (with a hardware configuration inferior to the one specified above)
Any advice would be highly appreciated,

Hi,
Nope actually, we are still encountering this problem. But there is a workaround. Say you have created an iview, you can copy such iview and change the relevant parameters later including the ID, name and all other particulars in order to create new iviews rather than creating new iviews altogether through the wizard.
The copying activity takes just a couple of seconds.

PAR file missing in PAR selection list during iView creation

Hi Gurus
I created a jsp file and exported it through NWDS export option. But i dont get this par while iView creation. Its present when i searched in the support desk . Can anybody tell me the steps how to create a simple jsp in NWDS and test the same in Potal as iViews.

Use NWDS wizards:
1) File -> Mew Project -> Portal Application -> Create a Portal Application Project
2) Right click on the project you created -> New -> Other -> Portal Application Project -> Create a new Portal Application Object
3) Select Portal Component -> JSPDynPage
4) Write your code ...
5) Deploy the par file & create iview from it.

BSP css & mime objects not found when accessed via iView in the Portal

Hi
A locally developed BSP Application has defined it's own CSS and MIME objects.
This works well when accessed via the Integrated ITS in ECC6.
However, when we access this the BSP application from an iView in a Portal (NW04S), the css and MIME objects do not appear to be loaded.
What are we missing?

How to set default Web Template for BEx Query iViews in BI Portal?

Hi,
1) In SPRO you can set the Standard Web Template used, e.g. ZANALYSIS_PATTERN1.
2) I published a query to Portal and when it runs within Portal, I want it to use a different web template, say ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2.
I don't want to change the BEx Web Application Query String property for each iView to hardcode the template e.g. to "QUERY=TestQuery1&TEMPLATE=ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2"
I only want the query name in the iView
Can I set this somewhere in Portal? I tried changing the standard "BEx Web Analyzer" iView as mentioned in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/33/39fa40ee14f26fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm (BEx Web Application or Query as iView in the Portal)
but it still seems to take the template from SPRO even after restarting J2EE
(I just published this question in Portal forum but I think it belongs here instead since it is BI Portal - apologies for the double-post..)

I still have the issue, whatever the place where I force the template, the queries on the portal does not use my specific template.
I tried :
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer
(this one was working before upgrade to netweaver stack 17).
as well as
pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bw_report_iview
and
pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bi7x_report_iview
none works !

Unable to view some iviews in the portal

Hi,
We are unable to view some of the iviews in the portal. For example i go to System Administration>System Configuration> I should see portal content and the list of systems etc but i get a Page Cannot Be Displayed error. But we are able to view this on the server machine. The server is in a different network. What could be the problem. We have EP 7.0 .

If you are able to see into Server then it means IViews are working fine, then it seems to be network issue, the applciaiton might be blocked so you can check the network setting.

Issue with Iview Analyze

Hi Experts - I'm just trying to create a simple page with 3 i views which display the PDF documents.
I used KM Document I View template and the preview works perfectly.
When i add them to a page, sometimes it display them properly and sometimes it throws exceptions.
So i tried using the "Analyze" option on the i view and enabled all the categories. When i execute, i'm getting the below error.

We could not re-deploy the EP-RUNTIME due to some reasons..
However issues with iviews has been fixed.
java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method java.lang.Object.equals(java.lang.Object) of a null object loaded from local variable 'design'
at com.sapportals.htmlb.enums.TrayDesign.getDesignClass(TrayDesign.java:69)
We are getting this error as we did not selected anything for the Tray type parameter..
We still get that 0 files error but not sure what is the source/which component is throwing this error. We will continue to investigate.
I'll update this thread incase we found the fix..

Record Working Time iView Error in Portal

In Record Working Time ivIew in SAP Portal when we are selcting the date from the Calendar
we are getting the below Error as

IView Creation Based on available par file in Net Weaver

Dear All,
We Have Developed iViews based on par file creation in EP5.
We have used HTMLB tag libariries and used JCO to Call the RFC enabled function modules and BAPIs from ABAP..
but now we want to migrate the all our iviews which are running successfully in EP5 to Netweaver Component of EP6.
we have got netweaver installed but we were not able to find how to upload par file and create iView in Netweaver EP6...
in EP5 we have simple procedure to create iViews .. we will login as a administrator and there is an option for parupload under content administartion ... we will upload par files and create iviews but we are not able to find the same and simple procedure in Netweaver EP6
we have been struggling for several days and exploring netweaver EP6 documentation..
can any one throw some loght on it how to create iviews based on available par files in EP5..
please provide me detailed explanation or steps or any clear cut document to create iViews in EP6 of netweaver component. your help would be appreciated to great extent

Hi Prasad!
If u want to Create a iview from the par file means Goto Content administration > Portal Content > Right Click Create a floder.After Creation of Folder.
Right Click on Folder > Click on iview then select the following option
>> Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR)
then Select the par file , then fill general iview properties and finally click finish.
If you want to upload into portal, then u follow the below Navigation.
After u deployed ur Application par file from NWDS.
Open the Portal Goto System Administartion > Support > Click on Portal Runtime >Administration Console, then Browse the Par file and click on upload.
Next time onwards u can able to see ur par file in the PAR file list , while creating the iview from the PAR file.

what is the posibility of configuring Universal Worklist and developing iviews in the portal in BI?

Hi,
You will be able to see only the worklist items in your UWL window. Please go to the SAP BW inbox and check if some workflow e-mails are there.
If workflow e-mails are there, then it is a config issue in your configuration of UWL.

The following line in your log tells you what is wrong:
ORA-01654: unable to extend index SAPSR3DB.SYS_C004057 by 128 in tablespace PSAPSR3DB
This is a configuration that you or the dba people need to do. The first thing I would check is if autoextend is on/off on your tablespace PSAPSR3DB. If it's 'off' you either need to put it to 'on' or manually extend the size of your tablespace depending on how much harddrvive space you have to play with. Here is a more detailed solution on how to do it:
Oracle Error : ORA-01654: unable to extend index string.string by string in tablespace string
Cause: Failed to allocate an extent of the required number of blocks for an index segment in the tablespace indicated.
Action: Use ALTER TABLESPACE ADD DATAFILE statement to add one or more files to the tablespace indicated.
