Issue in passing payload from Human Workflow to ADF task flow

Hi All,l
I am facing one strange issue in Human Workflow -> ADF task form integration. I have 4 Data variables to pass to the task form for displaying and modifying the request payload. E.g
1. request
2. propertiesList
3. input1
4. input2
request and properties list variables are in the same namespace. When the process is executed, I can see the data being passed in Initiate taskflow activity in BPEL. However I don't see the data in ADF form only for propertiesList variable. This is a custom schema element I added newly in the project. I don't get any error , but no data is getting displayed.
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ashwini

I have applied workaround for this. However the main issue still exist.
When I pass hard-coded values in the list and drag and drop that list as selectOneChoice - I see the values in dropdown. Whereas, when the list is passed from program logic and I can see the values passed in initiateTask activity, and drag and drop the field as selectOneChoice, the values don't come up.
I will replicate this issue in a smaller piece of code and paste here later.
Thanks
Ashwini

  • How to access BPM 11g payload or process varibles in ADF task flow

    I am trying to view/edit data in a UI tied to a database using a foreign key, requestId. The foreign key comes from a BPM process where it is passed into the task flow, from a human task. The foreign key comes from process variables or payload values. I know I can simply load the payload in BPM with data from the tables, but I'm looking for a better solution to leverage ADF Business components to view and edit the data directly in the UI.
    The BPM process uses a web service to kick off the process. The web services takes a primary key as a parameter to reference a column in the database table. The database is pre-populated with content and a primary key reference. The first activity is a user activity. I want the task flow behind the user activity to accept this primary key and use it to locate the desired row in the database so views associated with database bounded ADF Business Components can work to present the data in the UI.
    I've tried two approaches to the problem. The first uses the operation setCurrentRowWithKeyValue. The other modifies the SQL where clause, used by the ADFbc Iterator, to only return a row for the given requestId. Both approaches fail to work because I don't know how to access the BPM payload or data variables coming into the task flow. Here's the snipet of code I used to try to set the row using setCurrentRowWithKey value:
    public String setRequestId() {
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    Object requestObj = context.getApplication().evaluateExpressionGet(
    context, "#{bindings.RequestId.inputValue}", Number.class);
    if (requestObj== null)
    return null;
    Number requestId;
    requestId = (Number)requestObj;
    DCIteratorBinding itr = (DCIteratorBinding)
    getBindings().get ("PatfRequestHdrView1");
    itr.setCurrentRowWithKeyValue(requestId.toString() );
    return null;
    I haven't gotten very far with the second approach, modified SQL where clause, since I don't know Groovy. I think I need something like:
    adf.object.viewObj.RequestId. But there isn't a viewObject associated with BPM data, so I'm sure this particular expression won't work.
    Any help you can give me is very appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mark

    The first thing I want the task flow to do is display a page with a form showing the values from the database. This is why I tried to call the method first. If I add the setCurrentRowWithKey to the form as a button, I can get the form to load the data, but it's a two step process, requiring the user to click a button. The method approach throws the following exceptioin

  • Passing parameter from a page to another task flow.

    Hi,
    I have a taskflow and that contains views View1 and View2 . View1 contains a popup and taskflow(TF1) is dropped as region in this popup. View2 has 2 taskflows ( TF2 & TF3) and are linked as,
    View1 -----------edit------> VIew2
    In TF1's backing bean I have a list which I would like to pass to TaskFlow(TF2) in VIew2.
    Let me know if there's a way for doing this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priya.R

    I would say, that you shouldn't drop TF1 in a popup, but run it as inline-document instead (see button properties).
    Then you could return your list from TF1 into some View1 bean (taskflow or view scoped, I would say) and so in View2 you list would be available - all you need is to pass it to TF2 as a parameter.

  • Accessing Human Task Payload from ADF Task Flow

    Hi
    Using jDeveloper 11g TP4 SOA...
    The scenario is this:
    1. We have created a Human Task which has parameters accountId and accountType in the payload.
    2. We have then created a Task Flow based on that human task.
    3. Inside the web folder with task flow we have *4 task display forms* (jspx pages).
    4. In the task flow we have the 4 pages and then a router
    5. Now we want the router to look in the payload of the human task and based on the accountType redirect to the correct task display form.
    Problem: We can't access the human task data control from the router in the task flow.
    Does anyone have some insigt into how we can read the accountType from the payload and then pick the correct task display form?

    Hi victor,
    i'm using a SOA(OSB) based task service, but i think that you have to use a "task service" (or something like this) to update your task
    this is my routine
    public Task updateTask(Task task) throws Exception {
    TaskServiceContextTaskBaseType taskUpd =
    new TaskServiceContextTaskBaseType();
    taskUpd.setWorkflowContext(getWorkFlowContext());
    taskUpd.setTask(task);
    return taskService.updateTask(taskUpd);
    where taskService is the port of my proxy.
    Hope this help

    Thanks very much for your input. I made changes to my bean accordingly. Actually the method getAdminType() is a not a getter of a property. It's just a method which iam calling in AdminController bean constructor to verify whether the person is System Admin or Client admin. So now the issue is inspite of making changes still the link "Copy Users" shows up for Client admin too which is incorrect.

  • Oracle ADF task flow setup failing- deployment issue

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing issue while deploying the ADF taskflow to Oracle webcenter portal/application server.
    We will need your help to get any pointers from your Oracle network to help resolve.
    Details of issue are as below.
    Please help ASAP.
    Problem Statement: Issue in the ADF taskflow while it is deployed on Oracle Webcenter Portal/Application server (the ADF taskflow is fetching data from PL/SQL procedure using table/record objects as OUT parameter, which is running fine in Jdeveloper).
    Problem Description:
    From ADF task flow we are invoking a PL/SQL procedure, which is returning a PL/SQL objects as an OUT parameter, some of these objects are of TABLE TYPE and one of RECORD TYPE. We are invoking this oracle procedure and fetching the object using jdbc. The object to which we are mapping this PL/SQL object is a custom java type object. We are using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and Oracle ADF for this and we are able to successfully fetch the object using the code snippet #1 attached below.
    However, when we deploying the same code, i.e. the above ADF task flow in the Webcenter Portal server 11.1.1.4, inside the Webcenter portal application, it doesn’t work and give the below error, error snippet #2 below.
    Options tried: Initially we were using oracle.sql.STRUCT to handle the PL/SQL object, we tried changing this to weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Struct and also java.sql.Struct, however we are still getting same error.
    The objective is to get the data from PL/SQL procedure in objects (record, table) as OUT parameters in ADF taskflow deployed on Oracle webcenter portal/application server.

  • Creation an ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task

    Hello!
    While creating ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task, I can't bind New TaskFlow to task, which I choose in Dialog.
    Details:
    I Have:
    BPM Project with PackageCreation.task
    ADF Project in Same Application
    I do:
    1. in Application Navigator right click on ADF Project -> New -> Web Tier -> JSF -> ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task
    in creation Dialog I choose PackageCreation.task and Don't change name of New TaskFlow (automatically JDeveloper set this name to PackageCreation_TaskFlow)
    I have After that:
    new ADF Task Flow and my old PackageCreation.task.
    Question:
    Why my Task don't bind to created ADF task Flow based on it?
    I think, that while creating ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task it has to change my task, writing some thing like This (inside xml):
    <taskFlowFileLocation>file:/D:/JDeveloper/mywork/SalesQuoteLab/EnterQuoteUILab/public_html/WEB-INF/EnterQuoteDetails_TaskFlow.xml</taskFlowFileLocation>
    That xml element is creating in xml of *.task, while making auto-generation form for human task in BPM Project.

    Juan C,
    I use JDeveloper 11g Release 1.
    May be I didn't explained my question correctly.
    taskdetails1 is creating, and in Data Controls I have objects of my BPM Human Task Payload.
    But in that file "PackageCreation.task" in source I can't find any link to instantly created TaskFlow.xml in my UI project.
    So, I have
    NEW project "PackageCreationUI" with PackageCreation_TaskFlow.xml in it (and TaskDetails1 file too).
    AND Did't Changed PackageCreation.task in BPM Project.
    If I use *"BPM form creation wizard"*, after creating project and TaskFlow in it I see Changes in PackageCreation.task in BPM Project, something like that:
    <taskFlowFileLocation>file:/C:/JDeveloper/mywork/testApp/PackageCreationUI/public_html/WEB-INF/PackageCreation_TaskFlow.xml</taskFlowFileLocation>

    What I suggest is go into EM and undeploy this composite and all versions. (Only if you don't want the existing ones). Then redeploy your process. This will avoid the version conflict and create a new version. 1.0. Then the next time you try and deploy you need to either specify a new version or check the box to say the version can be over written.
    cheers

  • Single adf task flow portlet with multiple pages and paramter from url

    Hi ,
    I have made a adf task flow portlet with a parameter.
    I have made a portal applcation and added multiple pages . in each of the page I am consuming that portlet through wsrp2.
    I have mapped the task flow parameter in page bindings of the pages with #{param.code}. where code is the get parameter.
    I have edited navigatinoal template so that when i click the pages , code parameter also get added in the url.
    issue
    When I run the applcation and visits first page with get parameter i get the right result. but when i click the on the other page which has some other value for the same get parameter , it doesnt display the value. But the other page shows me correct value if I go this page first but the later page doesnt display any value.
    thanks

  • Create ADF Task Flow for Human task outside of SOA Composite

    Hi,
    Is there any way you can create ADF Task Flow form (for the task Details to be display in worklistapp) for a Human task out side of the SOA Composite applicaiton?. I know we can create ADF Task flow form for task details based on Human Task in SOA composite application. But I dont want to do that. I dont want to keep any association between Human task and ADF Task Flow.
    If there is a way to do this, How can we assiciate this ADF Task flow form with worklist applicaiton?
    Thanks

  • Issue in passing data from PAge A to Page B

    Hi
    I have a scenario where I am trying to pass data from Page A to Page B. This data has to
    be passed on the click of a button. On the button's event, I have set the paramaters that
    I want to pass. I have passed these params in a hashmap in pageContext.forwardImmediately
    method.
    Page A has the requisition records. Clicking the radio button against one of these
    records and clicking the Lines button should take me to Page B with that Requisition VO's
    Row.
    In Page B, there are 2 parts..
    (1) A header which displays the requisition details like Req Number, Current Version,
    Previous Version etc
    (2) A table (Advanced Table) regiion which displays the Line details per that Requisition
    (Each Requisiton has 'n' lines).
    I am also getting the paramater value(s) in Page B's controller's processRequest.
    Here, I am calling the init methods on both the requisitionsVO and the linesVO which calls the executeQuery() methods. I thought that this will populate the Page B as the VO's columns are mapped to the
    respective fields in the Page. But I am not able to see any data on Page B. Am I missign anything here.

    reinitlize the VO
    By this do you mean the following :
    In the Controller:
    String reqNum = (String)pageContext.getParameter(PoConstants.PO_REQUISITION_KEY);
    if(!PoUtils.isEmpty(reqNum)) {
    Serializable[] param = {reqNum};
    Class [] paramTypes = {reqNum.getClass()};
    am.invokeMethod("initPoReqHeadersQuery",param, paramTypes);
    In the AM:
    public void initPoReqHeadersQuery(String criteria)
    OADBTransaction txn = this.getOADBTransaction();
    if ( txn.isLoggingEnabled(oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE))
    txn.writeDiagnostics(this, "initPoReqHeadersQuery.begin", oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE);
    PoReqPendingForAcceptanceVOImpl vo = getPoReqPendingForAcceptanceVO1();
    vo.initReqQueryAction(criteria);
    if(!PoUtils.isEmpty(vo)) {
    PoReqPendingForAcceptanceVORowImpl row = (PoReqPendingForAcceptanceVORowImpl)vo.first();
    if(!PoUtils.isEmpty(row)) {
    vo.setCurrentRow(row);
    if ( txn.isLoggingEnabled(oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE))
    txn.writeDiagnostics(this, "initPoReqHeadersQuery.end", oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE);
    In the VO:
    public void initReqQueryAction(String criteria)
    OADBTransaction txn = (OADBTransaction)getApplicationModule().getTransaction() ;
    if ( txn.isLoggingEnabled(oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE))
    txn.writeDiagnostics(this, "initReqQueryAction.begin", oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE);
    setWhereClauseParams(null);
    setWhereClause(null);
    setWhereClause("SEGMENT1 = :1");
    setWhereClauseParam(0,criteria);
    executeQuery();
    if ( txn.isLoggingEnabled(oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE))
    txn.writeDiagnostics(this, "initReqQueryAction.end", oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAFwkConstants.PROCEDURE);
    }

  • Passing parameters from shell script to OWB process flow

    Hi all,
    I am running OWB process flow (using the template script provided by oracle) and i want to pass two date parameters as shown below:
    sqlplus -s $SQL_USER/$SQL_PWD@$ORACLE_SID @$HOME_DIR/src/vmc_oem_exec_script.sql OWB_OWNER VMC_POST_DW_PF_LOC_SIT PROCESS VMC_NM1_PORT_MAIN "," "P_DATE_FROM=$DATE_FROM,P_DATE_TO=$DATE_TO"
    How do i catch those values in process flow and pass those to mappings in Process flow?
    Do i need to create PF variables with same names or any name will do?
    Thanks in advance

    This document is explaining how to pass data between activities in process flow.
    I am passing parameters from a shell script.
    Any ideas,how to pass parameters from shell script and then initialize the process flow variables based on those values and then pass them further to mappings.
    Thanks

  • Update an ADF Task Flow based on Human Task

    Hello friends,
    I'm working on Oracle BPM Suite 11g. So, I created a process including its human tasks. Later, I created a Task Flow based in the human task that I setup before. Now I added a new parameter to the human task and I need to update the task flow because (of course) it only contains the payload of the previous configuration.
    Can I do that? What can be the solution?
    Regards....
    AYVR

    It's covered in docs here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_designtf.htm#BDCDFBCB
    Note that this only updates the control. You'll have to now drag those new payload properties onto the form. If you had removed any properties you'd need to remove those from the form.
    You should also do a refresh of the window that contains the data controls. Sometimes that's necessary to see the changes.

  • Passing input parameters to the method call in ADF task flow.

    Hi,
    I have the following use case:
    There is a task flow with 2 jspx pages. In the first page I have 2 input search parameters and search button. the search button calls the webservice data control execute (GET_ACCOUNTOperation) method .
    Displaying the search results in the same page is not a problem , but my requirement is that the search results are to be displayed in the second page in tabular form.
    To achieve this, I dragged the execute method as the method call in the task flow and specified the input parameters for the method call (right click and add parameters) . I am getting the following exception :

    the input parameter.

    Hi,
    thanks for the quick turn-around. Jdev version that i am using is Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0. And i am using SOAP. Isnt there a way without using a backing bean? I am planning to use it as a portlet. Would'nt creating a backing bean cause a problem in that case?? Also i am confused here . The method that i am dragging is GET_ACCOUNTOperation(Object). I tried passing the hashmap . It gave the following exception :
    javax.el.MethodNotFoundException: Method not found: GET_ACCOUNTOperation.execute(java.util.HashMap)

    Hi you can add parameters to your FPM application and launch the aplication from POWL action.
    Insder FPM, using FPM parameters you can access these varaibles inside your local webdynpro component.
