Issue in Passport Country 2 and Passport Country3 in ESS Portal

Hi,
In SAP Portal Personal Data -Passport Country 1 All datas are getting saved in Overview Screen
But in Passport Country 2 and Passport Country 3 datas are not getting saved in Overview Screen and not getting the data from the backend also.
In V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP i have maintained UseCase and Active Subtype as
05 185 z1(Passport Country1)    A5
05 185 z1(Passport Country 2)   A5
05 185 z2(Passport Country3)    A5
Can any one please let me know how to pass the values backend and viceversa in Passport Country 2 and Passport Country 3

What are the country ?
You should check the setting of the table V_T588UICONVCLAS. This use a conversion class that get information of backend for display in the portal .

CATS Screen dumps when navigating between prev and foll weeks in ESS portal

The medical leave absence type MEDICAL LEAVE @1/2 PAY(13) is the only allowed by time administrators to enter through transaction CAT2 and not through ESS. Once entered,this appears in your time entry in ESS as a disabled entry. However once you navigate between the previous or the following weeks, after this entry appears in your screen, the screen dumps.
SAP allows this functionality where time entries can be maintained for an employee through CAT2 on ERP side with an absence type not available in ESS portal.
The following is the dump analysis from ST22.
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below. |
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS', was not
caught in
procedure "PROCESS_TIMESHEET" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
In the running program "CL_XSS_CAT_RFC_COMMAND_TOOLS==CP", part of a string was
about to be accessed
with an explicitly specified length.
However, this length (4) exceeded the current length of the string
(3).
| This kind of access is illegal.
Kindly suggest.

The latest note released by SAP to solve this issue is 1559416 CATS WD: Dump if Attendance/Absence type is deactivated .It works !

Creating Ztable with fields for URL link and making available in ESS Portal

Hi,
I have a requirement for maintaining URLs in a table, The URL can be unspecified length.
Table maintainance should also be provided.
I have searched SDN for this. But could not find the appropriate solution.
I have to pass these entries to ESS Portal through RFC.
Can I pass a string more than 255 chars. as an export parameter in an RFC.

you can have the field length what ever you want, but you can;t maintain them using Tablemaintenance. you can do one thing using some bdc or upload program update the table with the url what ever you have.
and also you can pass the parameter with more than 255 chars length using the function module.

Hide the start time and end time in ESS portal

Experts,
We have a requirement to hide the Start time and End time on the header section of the travel request / expense sheet in the ESS portal. I have searched through the configuration and found several place to hide the start time and end time of segment yet these have no impact on the porta start and end time fields.
Please Advise.

Hi Martin,
you can achieve this with administrative personalisation. In portal content navigate to the role where you deltalinked your iView, click "preview". When a new Window for the preview is opened, notice the URL contains "&sap-config-mode=true". Now right click on the fields you want to hide and choose "enter configuration" (or the like, wording is not exact) from the context menue. The WD-UI-Element tree opens where you can directly hide/customize properties of the WD. When clicking save+exist you can also transport the alterations you did.

Customizing Benefits and Payments iview in ESS Portal

Hi Guys ;
I am working on ESS portal.
I want to add new links and textviews in the Benefits and Payments iview. After adding them I want to rearrange their positions with respect to existing fields on the iview.
I tried by opening the preview of iview from
Content Administration -> portal Content -> ESS->iviews ->Benefits and Payments iview.
Then I selected an existing link on the preview of iview and did ctrl + right click but when I select any uielement and click on rearrange I don't get any filed inthe table to rearrange its empty.
Is there any particular node in UI element tree to be selected to rearrange the fieldst?
Please reply I am in a fix.

1) How can employee know when their benefits should start (cant enter start date via ESS)
- It appears that they need to enter a start date but cannot
Typically, EEs are not allowed to enter a start date for benefits coverage. The start date usually depends on the type of enrollment.
If it is a new hire enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the employee start date.
If it is open enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the beginning of the following year (open enrollment is done usually towards the end of the current year - for benefits coverages of the following year)
If it is a generic enrollment (for example - birth of a new child) - the start date will be the beginning date of the corresponding adjustment reason (IT0378 record start date).
2) For insurance enrollment, why does BASIC COVERAGE show ZERO amount. Can we remove if we can?
This is a generic screen used for all the plans and hence it shows ZERO amount. You may choose to customize the code if you want to.
3) We need to relabel some of these plans we set up for HSA - how can we do that?
This can be done by changing the corresponding texts in the benefits configuration. The webdynpro application reads it from there.

PNP and PNPCE databases in ESS portal

As all you know standard ESS works on PNP logical database.but we have a situation in our project that we should use PNPCE database instead of PNP.
So i would like to get your inputs on the usage of PNPCE in ESS .will there be any bad impact of using that database

Hi Bala,
It's very interesting question.
In case of PNP we are using the employee number as the base and using the sap logon name of this user pernr.
But if we are able to do the same with Person ID of the employee then I think we will be able to use the ESS with PNPCE.
I am not sure that is this possible but just giving a thought.

Problem with updating Passport details from ESS portal

HI Experts,
Some of my employees were unable to input passport details from ESS portal -own data.
Employee who belong to south korea are getting the problem.
Even though we fill every field,system is showing an error that "" Fill in all required entry fields ""
In spro...we maintained country grouping as 41 and IT 0185 and subtype and we use rthe case B2 in speciy use case and activity subtypes.
Another thing,when we update data in 0185IT by R/3 by backend it is not showing up the details in ESS.
Could you please give me an idea to resolve the problem.

Hi Experts,
No details were maintained in the table V_T588MFPROPC for this infotype.
Employee with other country grouping were able to up-date passport details in portal.
Where as south korea employees are not able to update the passport details.
For south korea employees..they have to update passport details with sutype 01 in ESS portal.
Even though we fill all the details it is showing fill in all required entries.
In table V_T588MFPROPS..no details were maintained for version 41.
In portal we have to maintain..ICNUM,ICOLD,AUTH1,FPDAT,EXPID,ISSPL,ISCOT,IDCOT.
In r/3(by backend) we can maintain all these details including ID TYPE(ictyp).We have only one subtype(passport) in 0185 for this south korea.What details shall we need to maintain for version 41.
Please let me know,why system is showing error even we maintain all the details.

Both Magicjack and Passport freeze my screen forcing me to turn the computer off. This happened following updating my IMAC to OS V 10.7.2. What's my solution?

Go to settings/facetime and tap the ID there and log out and log in with new ID.
Go to settings/messages and turn off imessages wait 30 seconds and turn it back on, go to “receive messages at” tap on the ID there, sign out and sign in with new ID.
Go to settings/icloud and delete the account and when prompted select “keep information on your device” then turn it back on with the new ID.
To edit account information tap Settings / iTunes & App Stores / Apple ID: / View Apple ID
To change your iTunes Store country, sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you would like to use, tap Settings/iTunes & App Store/Apple ID/View Apple ID/Country/Region

802.1q between CAT 6500 and Passport 8600

Hi,
I`m configuring 802.1q trunking between CAT 6500 and passport 8600, in CAT 6500 I configure the port as trunk dot1q mode ON. In Passport 8600 I configure the port as TAG port.
I cretate the same vlans in both switch, but the interface vlans are create in CAT Switch. all hosts in Passport Switch that belongs to vlan 1 can ping his default gateaway (Interface Vlan) but hosts that belong to other vlan no.

Thanx for the reply.bt the issue is like we have a condition type zvat where condition table have the following fields departure country and destination country,The country of our company code is GB and we maintain a record for condition type zvat i.e GB (departure country) to GB (destination country) 17.5%.While creating a contract if vat is applicable we told user to maintain country GB in both the fieds i.e tax departure country and tax destination country in billing tab at header level of the contract .It is working fine for other company where company code country is different then GB.But for this where company code country is GB.An error occurs i.e.There is no vat registration number fot this comapny code XXXX for country GB.
Now how should i go about it?

My daugter is out of the country and can't connect to WiFi

My daughter is out of the country and can't connect to WiFi or make any calls. We added International Calling to her phone plan. While she was in the airport in the US the problem started, and continued once she reached her destination. Verizon can't figure out what the problem is, and I'm wondering if it's a hardware issue?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
