Issue in text element in Bex after transport

Hi All,
I'm facing an issue in text element assigned to Fiscal year .
In Bex design mode ,I introduced text element and I choosed the "Display Current fiscal year(Variable/Key)" in Development system and after releasing the design mode Im seeing the year in numbers, say 2010(user entered year).
Now I transported to Quality system when checking the report Im seeing the year is changed to text format, that is "'Cal. Year, 4 Special Periods 2010" and in design mode > text element property> "Display Current fiscal year(Variable/text)" is checked.
Could anyone help me why this change happening from one system to another system.

Logic behind dynamic Text Elements in BEX

We are trying to find out how BEx gets the "Last Cube Refresh Date." This can be added as a Text Element in BEx reports. What we are trying to do is determine which date is pulled when a BEx query is running agains a MultiProvider. We have one MultiProvider that consists of 3 Cubes and a DSO. When we run a query against the MP, and compare the "Last Cube Refresh Date" with the values stored in the 0BWTC_C07 cube, sometimes this date stamp matches one of them and sometimes it does not. I realize the times are offset for GMT and that is taken into consideration and we also realize that 0BWTC_C07 is not updated in real time. So our question is still, where does the BEx query get the "Last Cube Refresh Date" when it's run?

In the Multiprovider you may have multiple Infoproviders..
so in the report one KF and char will be getting populated from one Infoprovider and another from few other Infoproviders for eg..
so when it will run it will show the latest date for which it has displayed the data in the report for that cube.

If you want to display that "Status of Data " field in the report... Then you need to set it at...
Run the query -> from the BEx toolbar choose LAYOUT -> Display text elements -> General.
Status of data is the time on which the latest load occured to the cube. Lets say, you have built a report on a cube which is loaded on 01/10/2007. When you run the report, the status of data will show this date 01/10/2007 until you load the cube again. In this case, if you load on 01/20/2007, the status would now show up as 01/20/2007.
Note: If your report is built off a multiprovider with multiple base cubes...then the status of the load would be the latest date off of these cubes with this change...
Lets say the latest request loaded to
CUBE1 01/10/2007
CUBE2 01/15/2007
CUBE3 01/20/2007.
Then the status of the data in a report built off these cubes will be 01/10/2007
If you want to display that field in the report...
Run the query -> from the BEx toolbar choose LAYOUT -> Display text elements -> General.

Workbook Text Elements are missing After Upgrade to BI7.0

Hi All
I am unable to see "Text Elements" in Workbook which is migrated from BW3.x to BI 7.0.
I am using Windows XP, MS-office 2007, GUI 710 FEP5.
workbook is working fine with Bex 3.0
I had checked all the pre- requisite for BI 7.0 and BEx .
Please advise me.

This is an Known issue while upgrading WB's to BI7 and we have posted the same to SAP.
Try this procedure,
Open your 3.x Wb in BI7-bex - Click okie on Bex upgrade popup.
Click on change variables in your WB now and enter necessary variable values.
Now save you WB in BI7-Bex . Try re opening the same WB,
You have to see your text elements now after refresh.
if u save the same WB, w/o refresh or change varaibles, you will again miss text elements.
The below is the reply from SAP.
" As following to our call, I was able to open the workbook sap_test2( test WB that SAP has created in our system to replicate the problem) and to refresh it in the latest patch 17. However after saving it without
refreshing it, I was not able to open the workbook. so we are investigating the issue.however as temporary workaround you can the following
1. Eenable the "Refresh workbook on open" property. this will prevent
user from saving workbook without refreshing
2. You can apply a ABAP note which disallow users to upgrade 3.x
workbooks. But the note is currently in pilot released."
Ohoo, I think you are from Satyam..the above is the latest info that we got from SAP.

Selection-screen texts are not shown after transporting to QAS server...

Hello Experts,
We created a custom transaction for MB52(Display warehouse stocks) named ZMB52.
After I transported it to QAS server, the texts in the selection screen are shown
as for example, p_bukrs, etc. When I looked at its text elements, it is maintained
in German Language. My question is, should I translate it to English? And How do I
properly transport it.

Have you created your own Selection screen Text elements
or you simply copied the Std ones
If you have created on your own it should have asked for the request and should have been transported with the request
since you copied them as it is it is not displaying in ENglish language
Translate to english and see
otherwise create them in DEV with a request and transport it.

Double text-elements in Bex-Query

Hallo,
i display all text-elements in a Bex-Query. The variables are shown double, sometimes both values of a shown variable are keys, sometimes one is a key and one is text. Does anyone knows the reason and how to change it?
I've read SAP note no. 541024 and execute the report RENAME_DUPLICATE_ELEMENTS but the names of my variables weren't in the list and so I think it has nothing to do with this note.

Hi,
If you display all textelements, there are always going to be double ones. Thats because of there are is an element for the variable and another element for the filter value for the InfoObject on which the variable is based on.
However I don't know exactly when it displays text or key!

Error in Assignment of Text Elements of Report to Transport

Hi All,
I have transported few reports to Quality system however the texts elements associated with those reports have not transported to Quality system .
Now I am trying to assign these text elements to new Transport however I am getting error while activation and messgae just displays " Error in Activation " .
The Original system of these reports is different from my current development system. The Transport Layer of Package and Transport is same.

Hi,
Try to transport the text-elements along with the report to the quality server. Save and activate the text-elements and the report in the same transport request and then transport to quality system.

Changes in the Text element of Bex Analyzer result Informaton tab

Hi Expert,
How can we make changes in the display of the Text element of the query result in the Information tab and save it? For eg. The User wants to display STATUS OF DATA TO rather than STATUS OF DATA in the Information tab of the query result.
The query is based on Multiprovider so it has Text Element of STATUS OF DATA
In the Workbook its easy to do, how do we do the changes in the query result in Analyzer and save it, so it always displays the chosen text element?
I dont want to create a workbook for the query, so is there any way to replace any of the Text Element with another existing standard Text element.

Thanks for your reply.
The change is required in the Text element of information tab (once query is displayed there are buttons for Graph, Information), so the changes are required there for the text element and not for Characterstics and KF.

The text symbols are language depended. It means if you have only English version of the text symbols they will not be displayed for a user
who works for example with DE log-on language. For translating the text symbols you have to use Goto->Translation in SE80 while you have opened the given program (not its include! just the main program...).
When you transport program texts it always transports every languages defined. It is done by transporting of the object REPT. But when the program is just created then the transport will consist of object PROG and this includes the program texts automatically.

I created a custom t-code and had some text elements for my ABAP program in DEV, I transported quality an it worked , but when i transport it production it did not transport the custom code and the text elements. Can u guys give me steps to take for the custom code and the text to be transported sucessfully??

Please check whether the Tcode and Text elements are assigned to the particular Transport Request number. If it is an enhancement that Tcode and Text elements might be there in QA before itself and so this is working. You need to add the TCode manually while transporting the request and transport it to QA and PRD.

Issue with printing of multiple text elements in main window

Hi experts,
I have developed a sales order form in SAP script.
I hv got two text elements in the main window. n i m calling these two text elements by using two write form functions in d print program.
The first text element is gettin called n d relevant fields in dat particular text element is being displyed. (Window - Main)
My problem is dat the second text element for the same main window is not gettin called n its relevant fields r not gettin displayed.
Plz help me to solve the querry.

Hi,
Are you testing that from in same client where you developed, else make sure that after each change you need to transport the form to testing client.
second thing is check with code did you mention the same text element in window editor and in the program.

Problem in transporting the text elements for user exit EXIT_SAPLV09A_002

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in transporting the text element (text symbol) for the exit EXIT_SAPLV09A_002. It is implemented and transported but the text elements are not transported and even if I try to delete them and then create them again, on activation it doesn't prompts for TO and it version its shows it as local object. I have tried to manually assign the TO by using limu as id of program and rept as type and SAPLXV09 as the name of the object but still it doesn't allows as an error message comes prompting local object cannot be assigned to TO. Kindly suggest solution this problem.

Hello ,
In the Quality after you run the report check in the layout option>display text elements> variables and check what value is displayed for the use exit variable , if it is correct then problem may be in the selection you gave when you run the report if the user exit variable value is wrong , then set a break point in the code and run the report from rsrt and check where the error is.

Standard Text can create using SO10.
Use RSTXTRAN Standard Program..
Do Like this..
Goto se38 and enter program name as RSTXTRAN
and press F8..
and give Text-key Name as Standard Text Name
then Press F8..
And select Select check box.. and enter
and press on trsfr to corr button..
it asks transfee textxs to a correction..
press on yes button..
it will show request number or create your own request...
and after goto SE10 tcode and Transport it...

Transport ot text elements translation

Hi,
In SE63, I did translate some custom text elements of program SAPMP56T and able to save. But have no idea about how to transport these changes. While saving, I did not receive any prompt for transport request. I am working in SAP 4.6B and checked SE09 to find any transports created , but there was no transport related to translation.
Would appreciate help to resolve the issue.

Hi All,
Finally I found way to transport text elements translation. Login Source language, here say EN and then from SE38, text elements screen , click on menu Goto -> Translation
This will take to SE63 screen, you can translate and then click save icon in SE63. Then click on back button to return to SE38 text elements screen. Here again click on SAVE button and that is all. All translation in French also included in this transport. However when you saved text elements in SE38, the message you will get is misleading , it says text elements saved in EN language.
When I transported this request to QA system, French translation of text elements moved to QA system.
I think this is problem in older versions of SAP say 4.6b and backwards. In 4.6C onwards, you have Transport recording option in SE63 .

after the program lines i have a text

I checked my code if two items have same id the id has no value and you can see the output also
but for some reason its still goinng into the if condition
And also is there away that i can debugg my text elements like in scripts. my break point doesn't take me to the text elements

1. Move only the ID into one internal table say i_id,
2. Now in your smartform, create a table and loop at i_id into wa_id.
3.Print your ID in a text, &wa_id-id&
3. Now in main area of the table Create a loop with the internal table you mentioned above with 3 elements, say, i_data into wa_data give CONDITION as wa_data-id = wa_id-id.
4. Print your other values &wa_data-matnr& &wa_data-werks&
5. outside main area, clear the work areas.
This should work fine as i use the same logic in one of my current developments!!!

Issue with migrated transformation rule after transport

Hello all,
We have migrated couple of update rules and transfer rules to transformation rules. All the transformation rules are active in development environment.
The issue is when we transport these transformation rules to QA, one of the fields of datapacket dimension "RECORD" becomes &R1& in the global structure of start routine and therefore, transport fails in QA. Along with this we had another issue that if we add any additional fields in the cube or ODS structure, the global structure in start routine doesn't change after transport in QA. Basically, it seems like it doesn't do anything when we do transport.
We tried couple of things by transporting entire flow inclding target and source objects, we also tried transporting only transformation with overwrite mode. But none of the things worked. We also have logged the message with SAP.
SAP suggested us to open the QA environment and perform the change manually. We did it and obviously we could activate the transformation rules. But when we tried to re-transport the transformation, it is keep failing with the error "Syntax Error". My assumption has after the transport, the field has become &R1& again.
Has anybody faced such issue? We are on Ehp1 SP7.

Yes as I mentioned SAP suggested us to open the box and do it manually, but once we are done with the manual changes, we tried transporting the same transformation rule again, which I guess going to be the case in case of any future enhancement. Transport failed and it says "Syntax Error".
The transformations we activated manually in the target system are active, but when we try to load the data, it throws the exception error.
Any clue ?? Is it working fine in your system after you did manual changes? Did all future transport go well ?
