Issue in User decision title in Email Notification

Hi,
We have used extended notification to send email notifications for PR, in User decision step I have used the decision title as "Purchase Requisition Decision for &". But when we schedule the SWN_SELSEN as a background job, in SOST email subject is not same as the User decision step title it is as "New work items in your Workflow inbox".
Could you please let me know how to get the description same as User decision step.

Please check General settigns of SWNCONFIG. Here check eliment 'SUBJECT_WF_INBOX'. Here its default value is NASWN070, which is nothing but the message of SWN class. Chcek Message No 70 of SWN class which states that ''New work items in your Workflow inbox'' which you are getting currently. Please provide your message instead of the standard one.

Issue with User decision handler in UWL

I am facing an issue with user decision hander in UWL. We have modified the XML file to show up the comments box to enter the rejection reason, this is working fine with two approval tasks already but the same thing is not working now with a new task id. In the back end(R/3) everything is the same for both the tasks, in the Portal side my portal consultant says the same. But we were not able to figure out the issue. I even created a new task and tried to use implement the handler changes, but still it is not working. Please advice what could be the issue

I have an issue on a live SP2013 farm that is really causing me grief. Although I ( Farm Admin) and my other users can follow items which are subsequently confirmed in our respective News Feeds -
none of my users are are actually getting emails notifications .
Alerts ( did) work fine.
I have written some PS to vew and set the SPS-EmailOptin for each user

Very few are unchecked. $up["SPS-PrivacyActivity"].Value = 4095 is set for all users as in

For my currrent client I set up a development intranet which had the seperate web apps for the main portal and mysites. Test users were able to follow documents, sites without any problems. Before go live I was asked to accomodate a requirement
where there is only one web application (don't ask!) effectivley http://myintranet
so mysites sits under http://myintranet/mysites . I made the appropriate changes to my AutoSPInstaller scritpt and al appearedd l good : services , Service appplications, mysites are all started. I am using
the two app pool accounts one for the portal and one for mysites.
A quick look at the the releated threads on this forum indicated permssions could be DB permissions related tho I am not seeing anything in ULS to strongly point to this

In AE, stageless ESS user set up creates the ESS user and sends an email to new user like below...

Is it possible to change the wording in the email? Has anyone tried it? I am aware that it is a system generated Email, but is it configurable?

Just an FYI - the free Yahoo accounts do NOT use POP mail...If you want this type of access, you have to pay for the upgraded version of Yahoo Mail...

User decision title reads: "Decision"

Hi all,
I am having a weird problem. I made a custom user decision step so I could add some container elements in the description. This all works very nicely. But when the decision is executed the title at the top of the screen reads: "Decision" instead of the title of the work item which also uses some container elements. The title is shown correctly in the BWP. Does anybody know what I did wrong here? It is working correctly for another task I created similarly.
I am on SAP ECC 6.0.

thanks for the reply. You seem to be pointing in the right direction. Even though the bindings are all correct, the title comes up correctly in the BWP, there is a problem with them.
The decision step is called inside a parallel part of the workflow and I am using a field from the table entry that this step is looping on. In debugging I now found that it breaks on this container element: &_LT_DIFFERENCES_LINE.FIELDNAME&. The problem is that the method that builds the title only has the main workflow's container and not the elements local to the parallel part, like LTDIFFERENCES_LINE. I have been thinking about a workaround but cannot not think of one that will work.
I'll see if I can update the thread title to add this info.

Issue about user decision

Dears:
   in my workflow , when the wf trigger user decision, the decision appear in the inbox of the agent assigned to the user decision.
    but when i double click the user decision in inbox, it give message 'No administrator found for the task'
   and when i test workflow in swue, the step with status 'ready', cannot be processd.

Hi,
After clearing the buffers are you trying to execute the same existing workitem? I think it might not work in that case. For this you will have to forward it to an agent and reforward it back to your required person. This should solve the problem.
Or else try to create a new workitem and check whether you have the same problem.

User does not get email notifications to his outlook

Hi All,
A user has reported that he does not get outlook notifications for corresponding work items in his inbox.
All the settings are in place i.e. correct email address maintained in SU01 as well as in Infotype 0105 subtype 010.
Not really sure why he alone does not get any outlook notifications.
I tried sending a new message manually from SAP Inbox to his external mail id and was successful in this (checked SOST).
What might be wrong? Please suggest.

By "outlook notifications" I assume you mean emails telling the user he has workitems waiting for him to action.
How are you sending these emails, with Extended Notifications?
In SU01, besides specifying the e-mail address, have you also put "E-mail" in the "Comm. Meth" field?
Sending an email directly to his external email address from his SAP inbox doesn't prove much, SAP has to be able to deduce the email address itself.
Is it just happening for one user? Has it worked before?

Query to find all ORACLE Finance Users who Approve via Email Notifications.

I'm not being lazy here honest, but Ive been asked to find out which users Approve PO's (Purchase Orders) via E-Mail rather than through the Application. As far as I can see, the WF tables do not show the differentiation between those who do one or the other and so Im asking if there's anyone who knows about any other fields where this can be found out.

Sending Email Notification to User's of PO Approval Workfow .

I have copied the standard Workflow template for PO Approval Workflow from WS20000075 to Customized one.
Standard Behaviour :
According to SPRO COnfiguration , agents are picked according to REL Strategy and corresponding Rel code.
For Eg : if REL Strategy = 1 and Associated Release Code is from 1 2 3 4 5 then it is 5 level approval.
all the setting are done correct .i am using default rule for agent determination i.e 20000027. which is working correct.
My requirement is before sending the Workitem to SAP Inbox for release , Email notification should be send to approver
for Eg : if Rel Strategy = 1 and Rel code = 1 then listed user should get Email Notification to his outlook about the PO, once he releases it , next User should recieve the Email Notification till all the Overall release.
*Scot settings are maintained .
i have tried diferent ways to find the solution but dint suceed in finding the solution , neither was able to find the solution for this case in SDN threads .
Request you to share your knowledge . Points are guaranteed.

The subject line will be: "you have new workitems in your inbox". Simple and to the point. The text of the workitem will be in the contents of the email. If you want anything fancier then you will have to add a sendmail step to every decision step in every workflow. Not worth it.

Yes, that's where it reads the email address. It has to get it from somewhere.

SAP BPC 10.0 Netweaver : Workstatus email notification sender is the User how to change it ?

I've just set up email notification for Workstatus. I works fine but I've noticed something that won't be accepted by my customer :
I Had created a BPC Service User SMAIL to send email notification. But it is useless since the email notification sender is always the user who actually made the workstatus change.
This is very strange because this means that SAP can send emails IN NAME of Users. By default the email used is the user's email set up in SU01 and if the user has no email the sender mail adresse is : USERID@DEFAULTHOST
Default domain defined in SCOT transaction for SAPCONNECT.
I think that this situation raises a security breach ; to my opinion SAP should not be able to send emails in the name of users.
Do you have any idea to change this situation in order to make all notification emails send by one unique System User as BPCSERVICEMAIL for instance.

The answer to your question #2 is that we won't have SSIS packages in BPC7NW since all SQL server based functionality won't be there in Netweaver version. If you use migration tools to migrate from BPC5.x to BPC7NW, it can convert SSIS packages. However any custom SSIS code would have to be converted manually. Email notification for MeetingPlace not being received

Client has MeetingPlace 7.1.1 installed. Outlook email notification for MeetingPlace stopped working.
Problem symptom: When users try to schedule a meeting from web server page, both scheduler and invitee do not receive email notifcaiton in their email account. But email notification for MeetingPlace works when users schedule meeting from MeetingPlace for Outlook Plug-in regardlessly.
I've run a test with client, meeting creation is successful. But as soon as user finishs creation meeting, email notification is "Queued for delivery" in Email Notification Report in MeetingPlace App Admin page. I checked all possible settings in MeetingPlace Administration page, nothing looks wrong - correct email address account and type in user profile; SMTP server is properly configured and passes tha test; SMTP server is up and runnin.
I'm stumped after deep research online, did not go anywhere. Can someone point out where could possible go wrong and how to fix this issue??

Email notification works differently depending on where the scheduling is done. When done from Outlook your Outlook client sends the request directly to Exchange. When scheduling from the web the invite is held in a mailbox on the Application Server and periodically the system tries to send the email to its mailbox on Exchange. Since the issues is with meetings scheduled via the web interface there is an issue with MP talking to Exchange. I assume the users scheduling from the web have Outlook selected in their profile. This is the first place to check. Next I would look at the Outlook settings in MP. Make sure the MP mailbox is still in Exchange and that the user name and password is correct for the Exchange mailbox. This is usually where the issue is. Also make sure that SSL has not become a requirement to talk with Exchange.

An email should be sent to a person if someone has changed the PCD content. Can be an iveiw property, role property, workset property etc,.
Or if any thing is created or modified in PCD i should get an email notification that so and so content has been modified by so and so person.

As far as regarding to your question there is no built in functionality with portal. Email notification for subscription and notification service can be configured in the portal as:
Sys admin - System Configuration - Knowledge Management-Content Management - Utilities-channels - email channels by this you can configure the communication channels available in the portal. However this is used to send information to the users.
Also the email notifications are used in the User Management where the user profile changes can be tracked by the Administrator, similarly for tasks and notification's we can configure the UWL for the email communication.

Need Help in Workflow - User decision

I have to pass 5 parameter with this user decision title but they only give 4 parameter options in the user decision step. Is there anyway I can have five parameter place?

You might try creating a container element which is a long text field. Then write a method that will concatenate 2 or more of your parameters into the text field. Call this method before the decision step, and use this text field as a parameter.
If you do this, you need to find out what the maximum length of a parameter can be (I think it's 50 char).
All seems like a lot of work for one extra parameter, though!

User Decision Note: Questions

I have a couple questions regarding the user decision note: I've configured our XML code for the use of a user decision note, and made it mandatory for the return and reject actions, However my User Decision Title for the comment box does not show in the UWL.. Iu2019ve included my code below.. Any suggestions as to what Iu2019ve done wrong.. Iu2019ve cleared the cache after uploadu2026
Also, is there a way to configure the Message, that appears if you attempt to click the actions buttons that have the user decision note as mandatoryu2026the message appears at the top of the screen is very small font.. The syntax seems to be correct. I suspect the "/" character is causing the problem.
Try using:

GP email notification received only on server restart

Hi,
We are unable to send immediate notification mails using "Send Notification Callable Object" in a workflow Application developed using Webdynpro for Java using GP API.
We receive all pending emails in bulk only when the system is restarted - these were supposed to delivered immediately at the time of application execution.
I searched on OSS and internet for any information on this issue and the processes behind GP/email notification but did not find any information.
Any ideas?
