Can never get the time zones clear in my head. This used to cause all manner of issues when I was based in North Carolina, and trying to call home ...
Thursday's tomorrow for you? If so, I'd try (on Thursday) both uninstalling the Norton trial and then running Symantec's Norton Removal Tool. (There's an unpleasant possibility of "undead" Norton componentry surviving the uninstall and continuing to molest your iTunes and/or BonJour.) Here's a link to the Tool:
[Download and run the Norton Removal Tool|http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039]
I don't use it myself, but I hear quite good things about Microsoft Security Essentials. It also has the advantage of being free:
http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
And the built-in Windows firewall is not to be sneezed at (and also free). That's what I'm currently running on this particular box.
I'm planning to eventually install a Norton of some description on the Lenovo, but that's mostly because it's handy to have hands-on access to a version of the software when helping folks to configure it for their iTunes ... (Yes, I agree that that's a bit of a perverse reason for installing security software.)

  • I can't synchronize my iPod's with my iTunes software (Windows Vista Home Premium) due to problems with the access authorization / rights for this operation

    Hi there,
I'd like to ask you something:
I'm trying to synchronize all my iPod's (I have as many as 4 iPods: 2 iPod touch a 8 GB each and 2 iPod classic a 160 GB each) with my iTunes software (Version 11.3.1 which is installed on a Windows PC (Windows Vista Home Premium)). Unfortunately, the iTunes software refuses to run the command "synchronize with the iPod connected" regarding each and every iPod I have. iTunes just declares:
Synchronizing is impossible because I wouldn't hold the access authorization / rights for this operation.
I uploaded the songs at issue to my iTunes folder from CD's (all songs are in AAC format now).
What is this access authorization, why was something like that invented and what can I do to get it?
How do I have to proceed in detail?
    What would it cost?
I am brand new here and have never ever made a post in any support community anywhere in the world in my life. Well, and I am not excessively knowledgeable about the particular computer or mac language but I know the very basics or can find out about them.
Anyways - can you help me please?
If you can't help me, who can do so?
It would be nice if you could answer me as soon as possible!
    Thank you guys
    Prying Pedro

Yes, others have experienced the problem, a simple search of the forums would have revealed that and the simple solution.
Termporarily disable any security software on the computer.

  • Can't use iTunes with Windows Vista Home Premium

I have deleted and reinstalled so many times, so i tried the compatibility settings and set it to work for Windows XP(Service Pack 2) with 256 colours. It works, but it messes up all my colours.
    Help, please.
(My brother got iTunes working on his Windows Vista Home Premium laptop, but it won't work for the desktop computer.)

i think the file name quicktime.msi is causing the problem
also forgot to add that installation stops when the status turns to computing space requirements

  • Conflicts between Itunes and Windows Vista Home Premium Edition

I am looking to purchase a new pc with Windows Vista. What are some possible problems I could have with Itunes?

I have a new Windows Vista Home premium laptop and am NOT able to use the latest version of iTunes. Hopefully by the time you get your new computer, Apple will have taken the time to fix the garbage program that they are passing off as the latest version of iTunes.

  • Itunes and Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

I just purchased a HP TouchSmart with Vista Home Premium 64bit system.I have itunes loaded but after about 10 min. after i connect my ipod to it it locks up the computer completely. I have tried itunes on 2 identical computers and got the same results.
I also did a restore on the ipod and it still does the same thing. Any help will be appreciated.bobwire

Just an update, though it's more of a (non) update.
I'm not sure how but I managed to get it working.
After doing the things mentioned above, I tried a system restore but that didn't work and seemed to throw more error messages my way. Then I ran AppleSoftewareUpdater.exe and it gave me red X errors with no details, I assumed the install failed completely.
Following this, I manually downloaded and tried to install the latest version again but it said iTunes was already installed. At this point I'm far past annoyed.
So, I click on iTunes and now everything works.
I wish I knew what actually fixed the problem so others could benefit if they're experiencing the same thing....hence why I say, (non)-update.
    Anyways,
    Take care Everyone

  • Installation of itunes in windows vista home premium

I have tried several times in vain to download the latest version of i Tunes ( 7.6) on my computer. The installation apparently goes through properly but when i try to open itunes I recieve an itunes has stopped working dialogue box and the descripton generally is that an data execution program has prevented itunes from opening. I have tried clearing old downloads and reloading, I have tried disabeling conflicting programs ( not sure which ones will be conflicting) I have tried allowing itunes and quick time through the sytem performance file etc. I am frustrated and ready to throw my nano away. thanks for any help

I didn't realize Vista Home Premium wasn't supported, so I went ahead and installed Oracle 10g R2 standard edition and then personal edition on 64-bit Vista Home Premium. The only problem I've had is that the DB Console doesn't work, which is why I came to this forum and thread. All I get is a blank page with a few chicken scratches, but everything else has been working so far. I've had to revert to command line SQL Plus, and I just imported a couple million rows from an export done on a Solaris server, so go figure. Obviously I'm not using it for a production database, but for my purposes so far it's done OK.

  • ISO: solution for these itunes vs windows vista home premium problems?

1.Every time I start itunes, it tells me that there are registry entries missing for burning a disk and something else that escapes my immediate memory. However, it suggests reinstalling itunes and I've done that many times without the problem going away.
    2. I use a sony laptop with vista and the latest itunes. The itunes task bar is not showing up.
    3. When I go to those apple.com/itunes ads for free music, movie trailers, etc and then the itunes store redirector pops up, it always tells me that it can't find itunes, even when it is running.
    4. Recently, itunes began to display the phrase "Disc Recording not found..."

  • Windows 7 Home Premium X64 - iTunes 10.5 - Not Starting

Thanks in advancer for any help...
Has anyone had any problem witrh the new version of iTunes for Windows 7 Home Premium X64?
I updated in the normal fasion and then iTunes refused to start. So I uninstalled all traces of Apple software, restarted, downloaded a fresh copy of iTunes for Windows X64 and installed it. Again I restarted my PC and tried to start iTunes. The process starts and uses 20% of my CPU power but then nothing. The process stops and nothing happens.
I've just got my very first piece of Apple kit (iPhone 4S) and I'm trying to get some music on it but I'm having big problems. Can anyone help me get iTunes working so I don't have to take my iPhone back the the shop and continue on with my Android line of devices.
    Bobby

My problem with AppleMobileDeviceService taking up 25% of my CPU had nothing to do with Apple.
I ran ProcessMonitor to see what the service was doing. I noticed that my anti virus software was denying the service access to the registry.
That information lead me to search for a problem on the PC Tools website. Where I found this:
    http://www.pctools.com/kb/article/security-software-itunes-is-not-working-correc tly-with-pc-tools-security-program-installed-323.html
Once I upgraded to the latest version of PC Tools Spyware Doctor and rebooted.  The AppleMobileDeviceService no longer took 25% of my CPU. Also I am able to connect to the iTunes Store without problem.
I recommend all of you still having problems to check your anti-virus software.
Please Apple accept my apology for blindly blaming you.

  • Starting iTunes from a Desktop shortcut in Windows Vista Home Premium

Is anyone else having problems starting iTunes in Windows Vista Home Premium?
I have to attempt several times to get iTunes to start - using the Desktop shortcut, the listing in the start list and even the listing in the 'All Programs' list.
Once again I am compelled/induced to make a complaint about the effectiveness of iTunes 'Support' ... but I could be just a little redundant - after all how can one complain about something that does not exist???

    please, help me..
this has been bugging me for so long because i cant put new music on my ipod

  • Windows 7 Home premium 32 bits Pt-Pt

    Hi all,
I'm with lot's of issues to find the windows 7 Home premium 32 bits Pt-Pt (Portuguese-Portuguese) to donwload. I have the serial key because I bought the this Windows, but meanwhile I lost the DVD.
Can you please send me a link for the version and language above?
    Regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Dani,
Zigzag is right. I understand it must be very difficult when things do not work as expected.
As I known, there are two types of language packs, MUI (Multi-language User Interface) and LIP (Language Interface Pack).
The MUI changes 100% of the interface to another language and the LIP changes 80% of the most commonly used parts of the interface.
The MUI language packs can change any of the 35 Parent languages to another Parent language. The MUI language packs are only available in the Ultimate or Enterprise editions of Windows 7. The LIP language packs can be installed on any edition of Windows
    7. Both the MUI and LIP are freely available.
The LIP language packs cannot change a parent language to another parent language. These are only available for localized languages in countries where there is a large population that speaks a different language from the parent language of that country.
An example is Spain where there is a LIP available in the Basque or Venetian language dialect.
Since Portuguese and English are both parent languages, you would need to upgrade to the Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise edition to be able to change the language to Portuguese.
Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972813/en-us
Sorry to say, there is no another method you can use to achieve what you want.
    Hope it helps.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.I've never had this problem before... today I opened iTunes and it prompted me to download the newest version.  I use iTunes all the time and have updated it multiple times with no issues.  During the installation process it gave me an error message that said:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files\iTunes.exe
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer.  I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files (x86)...
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I did not leave anything out from the error message.  It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..."  Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue?  I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse.  I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi lustyln,
I'm having a little trouble understanding all of what you are trying to explain. From what I can tell, it sounds like your PC has a lot of software problems and you want to know what is supposed to be there and what isn't.
For reference, here are your product specifications:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01893242&lc=en&product=4043282
To get your PC software back to how it was when it was first purchased, run a system recovery:

    I hope this helps.

    Hello Rachet Jaw,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes. I found a few articles I suggest for the issue you described.

You may have to follow the slightly more detailed steps in whichever of these two applies to you.

Rebooting into safe mode may be needed to delete any folder the instructions say you should remove. You may also find this Microsoft Fixit helps to remove stubborn components. It has taken some people several attempts to completely clean iTunes and supporting software before they have been able to successfully reinstall it.

  • Cannot load iTunes Match onto Windows 7 Home Premium.

Loved the idea of iTunes match and was eager to be able to have solid backup across my PC's and my phone. My XP computer was able to get through the process with no glitches. However my Windows 7 Home Premium PC crashes when attempting to access Genius, iTunes Match, and occasionally the iTunes strore itself. Have tried the multiple downloads of the 10.5.1 64 bit version, clean install etc...anyone find another option??
