Issue met in Capacity Leveling with tabular
Hi, guru:
I met a fascinating issue in CM22,Remain.avail.capac. fileds in the upper area is 0, so i checked the available capacity with CM01 for the correspondent day, available capacity is 14.After i creating a production order, the capacity requirement is 1.7, but the field display -1.7 in CM22. so I can not dispatch it ,showing the error with overload. But i can dispatch it in CM21. I think the problem is that CM22 gets the wrong AvailCap or doesn't get it. but i don't know how to solve it . any sugession will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Hi Dear:
Check you Capacity utilization into your Resource or Work Center, cause many times this parameters is the reason for you issue between these two tcodes.
I mean, the CM22 take in count this parameter, but not the CM01
I hope this be useful 4U

Use of Planning Table (MF50) in Capacity Levelling with Production Order
Hello Experts
I wish to know that is it possible to perform Capacity Levelling in planning table (tcode MF50) with respect to a Production Order ? It is known that MF50 is used in Repetitive manufacuring to do the capacity levelling with respect to Planned orders. But in our discrete manufacturing scenario we want to use planning table to the capacity levelling with respect toa Production order.
Any clue or help pertaining to this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Regards
JayantaDear ,
MF50 is does the cacapcity leveling based on mateail -run schedule order (planned order ) where as in discrete manufacturing , when you run the MRP , MRP system assume Infinite Capacity and schedule the order as per your selection in MD02(2,1,3,3,2) and then you convert those planned order to Production order .Here you checkied the Capacity in Production Order level .
In stanadrd SAP , it is not possible to use MF50 for discrete production order.
In discrete order or process order , do the caapcity leveling , there are seperate planning table available based on Over all Capacity Profile and Schedule type .This can be done in following way :
1.CM31-Production Order Wise -Tabular
2.CM23-PO wise -Graphical
3.MC88: Ruf Cut Planning
Work Centre Wise : CM21 -Graphical , CM22-Tabular Planning Table .
Make sure the below set up before you carry on the Capacity leveling :
.Define time profile in OPD2.
Define the strategy profile in OPDB
Define the Overall profiles in OPD0.
In OPJK maintained check capacity with SAPSFCG013 profile for your production order type
In OPU3 , scheduleing parametre s: Generate Capacity , Scheduling Type , Automatic Log ,Start date in Past as per your req.
In OPJU , chekc the contol tab of the scheduleing as per OPU3
In OPKP- Production scheduling paranmeters assing the overall capacity profile -SAPSFCG013 with finte scheduling tick.
Master Data :
1.Materials Master define the Production scheduler and production scheduling profile
2.Work Center - Define the capcity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite sceduling,on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure,no of individual capaity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.
3.Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling.
Hope this will help you .

Resource scope when performing capacity leveling with Optimization method
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if, when performing the Optimization method in Capacity Leveling for transportation resources production resources are validated? I am currently testing this and I found out that if the capacity variant of the production resource is no 00, 01 or 02 the system will give an error message when trying to level a transportation resource, the message indicates that there is no available capacity for the production resource.
When reading documentation in help.sap it appears to me that Capacity Leveling should only focus on the resource to be level not in other resources and in this case my transportation resource has available capacity that shouldn't be affected for master data errors of production resources...
Could somebody help me clarify this issue?, I have already open a message and they suggested me to change the capacity variant of the production resource, evidently when I do this everything works but I still don't understand why capacity leveling, with Optimization method, of a transportation resources is checking on production resources.
Thanks!
ErikaHello Ian,
I am not talking about the SNP Optimization Run that is certainly manipulated by the constraints that you update on the optimization profile; in this case "Capacity Leveling with Optimization Method" the constraints are automatically set by the system and what I need to know is if these constraints are considering not only the resource that is to be leveled (in this case the transportation resource) but also the production resource.
Sorry but your answer does not correspond to my request, because you are talking about the Planning Optimization run and I am talking about "Capacity Leveling with Optimization Method".

Capacity Leveling Or Tabular Mettod
Hi Experts
Can any one tell me About the capacity leveling or tabular method And how we used it in our day to day scenario.
Rgds
Pankaj AgarwalHi Pankaj,
Normally in domestic projects very less usage has been seen for Capacity LVl. but by the Tcode CM25 you can use this form of levelling. CM25 is tabular capacity planning board where you can see the capacity requirements laid against the planned orders or work centers. After visualizing the plan you can better evaluate the capacity requirement. But it is mainly used to priortize the operations in std. practice.
There as the board you can select the plaaned order and via allcaote and Deallocate buttons you can take these operations. And finnaly you despatch it them to upper tab of the boards as yr firm capacity load.
Pls try it. It is a very good tool,

dear gurus,
can any body explains the concept of capacity levelling with t-codes.i already posted the same thread.but i require some more light.if any body explains it will be better for begginers.if anybody is having any doccuments regarding please send to [email protected]
-gunaHi,
The following points will be useful to understand the concept of Capacity Levelling.
Capacity levelling is only relevant for inhouse manufactured products and the existing capacity over load in work center with in a plant can be overcome by shifting the operation performed on the overloaded work center to a future period where capacity is avialable by using CM22
Example :
1) An order consist of 4 opns let us suppose ( opn 10,20, 30 & 40)
2) Opn 30 is being performed on a work center " WC1"
3) Assume Capcity load on this work center WC1 is 150% (TCode : CM05)
4) Shift some of the orders in the over loaded work center to a future period where capacity is available . When we are shifting Opn30 to a future period say 15th october , this opn date will be taken as reference & for all the preceeding operations backward scheduling carried out (ie for opn 10, 20). For all the succeeding operations (opn 40) Forward scheduling will be carried out.
5) Capacity levelling by shifting the operation can be used for MTS items with out any problem. In the case of MTO we should take in to account the customer requirement date while shifting the opn/orders to a future period.

Issue with Capacity Levelling-CM25
Hi Everyone,
We use CM25 for capacity levelling.
Issue:
Total Capacity req. = 186.8 Hr
Available Capacity on 01.01.2012 on the resource = 380.2 Hr
Now when I try to dispatch the capacity req. for a planned order manually on 01.01.2012, system distributes the capacity-
Distributed Period
5.0 31.12.2011
23.8 01.01.2012
23.8 02.01.2012
23.8 03.01.2012
23.8 04.01.2012
23.8 05.01.2012
23.8 06.01.2012
23.8 07.01.2012
15.6 08.01.2012
186.8
But we want to dispatch capacity say on one particular day or split it onto two different days i.e. 90 Hrs on 01.01.2012 & 90 Hrs on 02.01.2012. Is it possible? If yes, how?
Additional Information-
Capacity Defination in resource-
No. of indiv. cap. 16
Operating time 23.76
Capacity 380.16
Relevant to finite scheduling
Thanks,
Parashar.Hi Amol,
Thanks for your input.
As I have said I already have Capacity more than what is required.
Capacity Available per day: 380.2 Hr
Total Capacity Requirement: 186.8 Hr
I am trying to know that whether what issue has been raised is possible to solve in Capacity Levelling & How.
We are not maintaining shifts in SAP at present.
Thanks,

Infinite scheduling with capacity leveling.......
Hi there ,
If we go for infinite scheduling & then after MRP run go for capacity leveling ..........
then will we get the same effect as finite scheduling .....
Please suggest me
Regards
KaushikHi Kaushik,
If my understanding is correct, you are asking for the difference between manual and automatick despatching of orders in capacity levelling?
when we set finite scheduling in capacity header view of work center, and run MRP with scheduling parameter 2 set.
In capacity planning the availabile capacity will be compared with the required capacity and the load will be depicted as a graph or in table format. This only gives the load situation against the period.
For this the despatching of order will be done manually based upon the load per day by a scheduler in capacity levelling.
And to add more,
In R/3 finite scheduling is not there and this is drawback and APO was put in front for this purpose.
Can you confirm me whether the system automatically levels the order or despatchs the order in finite scheduling.

Capacity Planning & capacity leveling
Dear All,
If we have two Sales Orders in the same date for two different materials which will use the same work center for processing, and if we run the MRP then two planned orders will be generated. Here according to the capacity planning the system will calculate the number of days required to process in the work center and the job will be assigned to the work center for planned order 1. Then when the system tries to allocate jobs from the planned order 2 to the same work order then the system will show the over load. Then we have to do capacity leveling to remove the over load.
But the clientu2019s requirement is that when the system calculates the available capacity of a work center in the planning horizon, the system should not consider the time for which the job is already assigned from the planned order 1. And the system should assign the job from the planned order 2 to the work centeru2019s available (capacity) time excluding the (capacity) time for which the job is already assigned from the planned order 1 in that planning horizon. If there is no Available capacity in that planning horizon then the system shall show the over load and then the client shall go for the capacity leveling.
How to go about Please help.Hello Satish,
Let me understand you issue:
You would like system to give overload only when there is no capacity available in planning horizon.
Did you try using tabular planning board ? Tabular planning board uses bucket principle. It will give overload only when the whole bucket is full. It will not check the date and time of planned order # 1. While allocating capacity to plannined order # 2, the bucket's full capacity will be checked. In your case try allocation bucket size equal to your planning horizon period. -

Reg. Capacity levelling for the maintenance order
Hi all,
I am using SAP R3 ECC6.0.
I have created a maintenance order with order type PM01(Internal).In this order i have assigned Work Center 1 with the Work center category as Labour. And i have assigned 2 operations for this Work center in the maintenance order with the total hours of 60 HRS. and i saved this order & made the status to release.
Then i went to Tcode CM33 and there i inputed the Work center name and executed it.It opens a Graphical View. But in that view my order no is not displayed .Previous order no. which is there already for that Work center is shown there.
What could be the Reason.
As an alternate checking i went to T code CM31 order view. There i Inputed my order no. and executed it but it throws a message
"No Capacity requirements were found in the evaluation period"
"No work centers or orders were found"
What could be the reason.
Tell me how to overcome this issue.
More over i want to make dispatch in the capacity levelling.
Thanks in advance,
M.Badrinarain.hi badri,
are you checking in the same period ? and next check ur overall profile and time profile assigned to ur overall profile .... u will find order no , operation no .... and once u dispatch operation status gets DSPT .

Work schedule display in capacity leveling cm25
Hello,
In our company we have created a work schedule (tcode OP4A) and have associated to a work center (tcode IR02).
However, capacity leveling (tcode CM25) doesn't display the work schedule associated to our workers in the graphical planning table.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
Thank you very much,
ÓscarIt could be issue with your over all profile..
Use - Over all profile SAPPM_G001

Capacity Leveling - wrong conversion of base quantity
Hello Everyone,
we have the following issue /question with respect to capactiy leveling using PDS (APO 5.0):
the base unit conversion does not seem to be correct in the capacity leveling view:
Our settings:
In our routing we have defined a base qty of 10 PC, no break, no set up time, only 2min. machine no labour.
Resource: Single mixed , 100% capacity consumption
Material Output BOM =100 PC
PDS activity conversion for 100 PC = 1200 seconds
However: when entering 100 PC as planned requirement, the system calculates a capacity consumption of 33,33 hrs, with 10 PC 3,33, 1 PC 0,33 hrs. not the expected 20 minutes. Can anyone help clearing the fog? Any setting missing?
Thanks a lot,
Toms TeamHi Dibyendu,
In both the material order unit is not maintained.
Only the base unit of measure is maintained as EA and in additional data under units of measure the conversion factor of 1EA = 2 KG is maintained for both materials -
Hi pp friends,
I have done all required settings and i can see periodrequirements in CM22 but don't know how to carryout lelling execution steps and how will it benefit in case of production order.
If possible send screen shots.
Thanks in advanceHi,
Capacity levelling can be performed more easily from transaction CM21(graphical) rather than CM22(Tabular).
CM21 displays planning table with 4 separate parts. upper left part gives details of work center, lower left part gives corresponding planned order./production orders(you can restrict in selection screen only production orders/planned orders). lower right part gives Orders pool and load will be shown in red colour. Upper right part gives any changes mode to capaciry requirements.
Please go through Standard SAP documentation related to Capacity levelling for more details.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/49/e6f3340cdb8c44e10000009b38f844/frameset.htm
From this transaction you can see capacity Overlappings on each work centers clearly. By levelling the capacity of production orders from here will change the scheduling of the operations.

Capacity Planning vs. Capacity Leveling
My production facility is looking to divide up our shop floor by work centers. There are about 20 individual work centers that are composed of 10 people each. Each material we make is divided up into 3 operations which go through 3 separate work centers. Each operation has a corresponding work center that it goes through.
Right now we are unsure which program suits our needs better, Capacity Planning or Capacity Leveling.
Our goal is to measure each individual work center (not the workers that make up the work center). Each work center has a specific goal involving the number of materials they can produce, whether or not they reached that goal and by how many.
In a nutshell, we want to be able to measure how long it took each work center to reach their individual goals by the materials they produce.
This is all about measuring the individual work centers and how efficient they are. Our goal is to be able to utilize this data within SAP.
What is the difference between Capacity Planning and Capacity Leveling, and which would better suit our goals?
Our production facility is not very complicated and we're looking for something simple and basic within SAP to accomplish these goals.
All help is appreciated. What would be your recommendations for this type of situation?HI
Capacity evaluation
In the capacity evaluation, available capacity and capacity requirements are determined and compared with each other in lists or graphics.
Capacity leveling
The objectives of capacity leveling are:
Optimal capacity commitment
Selection of appropriate resources
In most applications, you can use two types of planning table (graphical and tabular versions) to display the capacity situation and to carry out capacity leveling.
In some applications such as Repetitive Manufacturing (PP-REM) or Sales and Operations Planning (PP-SOP), there are application-specific planning tables for capacity leveling.
T codes for Capacity Planning
Work Center view - Capacity Evaluation
CM01 - Load
CM02 - Orders
CM03 - Pool
CM04 - Backlog
CM05 - Overload
Capacity Leveling
CM21,CM22, CM27,CM28.
Hope it will help u

Hello everyone,
I created following calculated member in MDX query. I am using it in one of the report parameter in dataset (single select dropdown list as report parameter).
WITH MEMBER [Measures].[ParameterCaption] AS
CoalesceEmpty([Customer].[National Account Code].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBER_CAPTION,'None')
I would like to display 'None' text at the top of the dropdown list values. So that when user selects 'None' then this parameter will not considered in MDX query else the selected National Account Code will be considered to filter report data. But,
the above return blank/empty value for [Customer].[National Account Code].& member though I specified 'None' as text in CoalesceEmpty function. Any advice would be appreciated.
