Issue on Calibration Of Equipement

Hi All,
I want to calibrtae one equipment on 5 bar pressure with using 2% tolerence.
If value is more than 2% the calibration should failed.My doubt is that where should i give the tolerence.

Hi,
If you want to calibrate the equipment with specification pressure.
Create Pressure as Master inspection characteristics with Pressure,Create the charecteristic with Quantitaive cahracteristic type.Then it will show the controlling indicator,orelse select from TOP,
The controlling indicator shows the Upper,Lower & Target value,Mark this key.
Then select the Quantitave data here it will show upper & lower limit field to maintain,here maintain the tolerance with +-2 rom your target.

The 14 inspection type is to be activated in the config
1) SPRO>QM>Quality inspection> inspection lot creation> inspection in plant maintenace> maintain 14 against the order type you are going to use. Normaly PM05 is used.
Things to be noted
1) Inspection lot is created when order is released and saved
2) in task list you have to have a sampling procedure which has a tick in plant maintenance ( QDV1)
Check and revert back

Brightness and Contrast Issue on Calibration

I've started having migraine issues the last few years. On one machine I have, I wanted to create a few different monitor calibration sets, so that I could switch between sets that were for accurate work, and then sets that were lower in brightness and color temp, which would be easier on my head. I'm using 10.5.8 and an external ViewSonic. I just now realized, that the contrast and brightness settings seem to be overridden by the monitor. In other words... Say that you go to calibrate... You start off by manually setting the contrast and brightness, then adjust all the other settings and save the calibration. If you are using that calibration set and manually change the brightness and/or contrast... clicking on any calibration set, will NOT return the brightness and contrast to the settings you had them at, for that saved calibration set. ie: There's basically only one brightness and contrast setting you can have, at any given time, no matter what calibration set you’re running.
This doesn't seem right. Has it always been like this?

Hi Dave, see if this might be of use...
Go to System Preferences > Universal Access and down in the Display: section make sure that the Enhance contrast: slider is all the way to left to Normal, or more to the right for less Contrast.

Satellite A200-1M8 PAE6E: CD/DVD drive issue - power calibration error

Hi,
I have an Satellite A200-1M8 ( or A200 PAE6E ) with Vista and for some time I've been trying to burn some dvds which I failed due to power calibration error.
I tested my DVD-ROM and it works normally, the problem is it does not read (recognise) every dvd.
Is there anyone who can help me out about this?
Or how can I learn which type of media my DVD-ROM would read?

But generally a power calibration error means that its the media is faulty or not compatible with the drive.

Issue in calibration(inspection lot (result recording))

I want that when user do result recording if all readings will deviate then system automatically shows the valuation should be can not be used but it is now showing is can be used. see attached screen shot

steps:
1. run t-code qe17(result recording)
2. do RR and then when we click on save button pop up comes which gives the scree. which is attached in original thread.
3. i want that when RR is rejected means values deviate valuation should be automatically suggested that equipment can not be used

Equipment related issue

Inspection lot created with inspection lot origin 14(equipment)
after result recording when i m trying to save the lot the error i found CODES A DOES NOT EXISTS IN SELECTED SET 01,i checked the task list inspection key has been assigned with 300 type and catolgs and selected cheched for release everythinng is ok,even i checked the configuration for code A with selected set for 01 and this error is only with 1 plant,also check by using different selected set of different plant but same error occured
Plz help to solve this issue

It seems this issue not related to Equipment master. Could you pls check Catalog codes are maintained for particular plant and selected set 14 -14 Calibration inspection (PM/QM)?
You may check in SPRO->Quality Management->Quality Inspection--->Inspection Lot Completion>Maintain Catalogs for Usage Decisions--> Edit Selected Sets
Or check Selected Set in the same plant indicator is set for inspection type 14.if its not set, then you may select other plant catalog codes.

We are doing the calibration of some equipment and generating Order and Notification by PM Scheduling in PM Module.I want to know can anybody tell me what is the benefits available for the same in QM Module.I mean to say is there is anything related to calibration of equipment in QM also.

Well about QM.... see you have many testing equipment in the industry. All equipments will have a caliberation dates and it has to be caliberated. In audit you have to show that all equipments are caliberated before the dead line.
For this purpose we have QM...
QM can have all the certificate details abt the equipment... caliberation done internally or externally... you should maintain certificates.... in QM you will be entering the values which u have caliberated and maintain it..
Once u have done.. u will have a reference of all the certificates and results...

Can't install calibre on windows 8.1

I just bought a new laptop with windows 8.1 inbuilt. I'm having issues installing Calibre on it. After the download, when i proceed to set up a pop up window shows up and the message "This installation package could not be opened. Contact application
vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package."
Please help. I can't put books on my kindle :(

This issue could be caused by corrupted installation program or inappropriate file extension. Please ensure you download this program with right version from Calibre website.
Since Calibre is not hosted by Microsoft. I’d suggest you posting your issue to Calibre Help FAQ. There you can get more effective suggestion by other experts who familiar with this program. Your understanding is highly appreciated.

Booklet issues with InDesign CS3 on Mac, and Xerox WorkCentre 7655 booklet maker

I'm having several booklet making issues I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I am on a MacPro, OS X Leopard, InDesign CS3. We have a Xerox WorkCentre 7655 that has booklet making capability. The network server is a PC with Microsoft 2003 server on it.
The booklet I am making uses two 11x17 trays - one for cover stock for the cover and one for regular 24 lb paper for the insides. The layout is single pages rather than spreads - spreads did not work at all.
From InDesign using the printer, the cover pages come out backwards and mirror image. The inside pages are upside down and on only half the page. I did not not InDesign file/booklet because that seemed to create even more problems with the Xerox booklet settings, and I don't know how to try InDesign booklet and not the Xerox settings.
I tried making a pdf and printing booklets from that. On the Macintosh, I can't figure out how to tell it the pages are 11x17 so it keeps giving me an error that the printer is waiting for 8 1/2 x 11.
I actually did get the booklets to print properly using the pdf file and a PC, but any gray graphics came out lilac. The text was black, and the covers were the correct colors - only the inside graphics were the wrong color.
I hope this makes some sense - I really need help. I've tried everything I can think of. I spent a lot of time with Xerox 1st and 2nd level support, and they have washed their hands of this. So I'm posting here hoping someone has some ideas.

I have a similar machine configuration and have had many issues printing to an HP 9500mfp. Pages rotate, mirror, 2-sided both print on same side. I've lost the "bookletmake" function. Jobs will not recognize paper trays (meaning I have to manually tell it which paper tray holds the tabloid stock). I've tried using the "Page Setup" dialog box to no avail. On occasion, I can get some of the features to work with a pdf printing from Acrobat. Sometimes, that doesn't work either - never with any kind of predictability. Printing to the HP 4700 is more reliable. I've downloaded the updated "Leopard" compatible driver from HP, but it fixed no issues. When I tried contacting tech support for HP, the replied that this is an OS issues and not with equipment, leaving me SOL.

Detailed description
I have recently bought a used LP2475w for photo color correction and retouching. I would like to make it work in a workflow from capturing Adobe RGB DNG files via my DSLR, via LR4 & softproofing, to output on my profiled Epson R2880. The inkset on my printer has a rather large gamut, so it made sense to me to get a monitor that allows me to softproof saturated colors where applicable.
The calibration process resulted in pleasing contrast and good grayscale neutrality, but there is a flaw that runs counter to what I am trying to achieve with it: The LP2475w, when calibrated using the system above, shows a peculiar gamut that lacks saturated yellow-greens and saturated magenta-blues. It is noticeably smaller than the one posted on TFTcentral for this monitor http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/icc_profiles/hp_lp2475w.icc and does not encompass either sRGB, AdobeRGB or my printer/ink/paper's gamuts. This is obviously quite frustrating.

My attempts at troubleshooting so far
reset the monitor to factory defaults and start from scratch
vary the different monitor settings (brightness, contrast, custom RGB settings)
vary the profiling settings (different gammas, different white points including native, different contrast ratios)
compare the ICC profiles via ICCView http://www.iccview.de/content/view/2/4/lang,en/
use both the original Spyder3Pro software and BasicColor Display 4 - results are similar
I am now at the end of what I can do and would appreciate it very much if a monitor- and color-savvy person would chime in on this board. Feel free to check the ICC profile I have generated here. It uses the settings outlined above:

What can I do to achieve the same large gamut as other users have?
Does connecting to the monitor via DVI-D make any difference to the resulting gamut? I will soon build a new computer system, but for the moment I am stuck with VGA.

Tried something else, with partial success:
Installed ArgyllCMS & DispCal GUI
Loaded the corrections for Spyder 3 & LP2475w
Calibrated & profiled the display for 5800K / Gamma 2.2 / 110cd/m2
And presto - bigger gamut visually (the outlined version is the old one):

Coverage according to DispCal GUI:
100% sRGB
87% Adobe RGB coverage
Will have to tweak some more using a different set of Spyder 3/monitor compensation settings, but this is much better already.
The root cause for the issue appears to be the match between the colorimeter and the wide gamut display. Apparently you'd need an accurate spectrophotometer to get around these limitations.

Calibration inspection

I have done all configuration regarding calibration of equip. but when i am going to release an order for a test equipment then an error occurs
"No inspection lot could be generated for order'Release order anyway"
Message no. IW217
Diagnosis
An inspection type has been defined for the order type in question. An inspection lot should be generated when the order is released. No inspection point field combination has been defined in any of the maintenance task lists used in the order. This is why no insepction lot can be generated.
Procedure
If an inspection lot is to be created, the order must contain at least one procedure which was taken from a maintenance task list and which has been define for one of the inspection point field combinations. This must be done before the order is released.
Please suggest me how to come out of that situation.

Please check inspection point in task list header data. It should be 300.
In customizing please assign inspection type 14 to order type. For customization go to :
IMG -> Plant maintenance & Customer services -> maintenance and service processing -> Functions and settings for order type -> Assign inspection types to maintenance/ service order types

Equipment User Status Update

Dear Gurus,
I want to update equipment user status with PM Order Status.
for example, if i close the PM01 - Maintenance Order , equipment user status will be updated "001-Fixed".
how can i update the user status like above example? I have found some user exit (STATTEXT) but it is not working in PM order. Is there any user - exit for this case?

you are right, i guess my example is not clear for this case. I wrote this basic example for easy understanding.
anyway, i wanna write a scenario, we have 4 user status for equipments. we wanna run with PM order status and good movements. equipments are on our customers so that we can refurbish and fix on the field or our refurbishment center.
1. if equipment is come from customer for refurbishment , equipment status will be updated "001-waiting for refurbishment" with good issue.
2. if equipment is refurbished, (refurbishment)order will be completed so equipment status will be updated " 002- refurbished"
3.if equipment is not refurbished, (scrap) order will be opened for removing equipment's spare so equipment status will be updated " 003- scrap"
4.if equipment's spare is removed, (scrap) order will be closed and equipment status will be updated " 004 - write off"
I hope it will be cleared.
there is a bapi for updating equipment user status"BAPI_EQUI_GETSTATUS" but i don't want bapi because of locking the equipment. which can i use user-exit or badi for this case?

Calibrating an external monitor

This is an obscure question, but I'm hoping at least one person on these forums has some advice:
I'm trying to calibrate my external monitor (NEC LCD2690wuxi2) from my Macbook Pro (10.5.6) using Spectraview II software and a Gretag-Macbeth colorimeter, however the software cannot communicate with the monitor. My guess is that it has something to do with the Apple's new proprietary display port, and I'm wondering if any graphically-inclined users have found a workaround for this yet. Surely I'm not the only person here who does color critical work and can't get their laptop and display to interface.
I do not have the flickering problem some other users have reported. Still, it defeats the purpose of buying the laptop in the first place if I can't get accurate colors.
Any help is appreciated!

Hey there. I have no issues with calibration. I use a Spyder3Pro through Mini-DVI adapter to calibrate my NEC 20WMGX2(even using it through a KVM). It calibrates whatever display you choose. Your software could be broken with 10.5.6. See if they have an update on their site. Try a different USB port or reinstall the software. The mini display port has played no issue in my display connections or regular usage.
