Issue on Number Range for MRP Purchase Requisition

Hi Gurus,
Please help me on the issue explained below.
We are already using SAP ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0 and now we are implementing Plant Maintenance Module. As a result of this implementation ,we have created number of PR document types and assigned to unique number ranges in ECC. One of these document types has been maintained for MRP group for a material type in order to identify the MRP purchase requisitions created on the shortage of the materials for these material types.
This functionality is working fine. MRP run for the materials is picking the appropriate PR document but number range of the document is not the same what was assigned to the linked document type. Some other number series is getting picked by system .
There is setting under SPRO Consumption Based PlanningNumber RangesPurchase Requisitions
Here, number range assignment is against plant. This is the same number range which is being taken by system on running MRP. But the desired number range is the one which has been linked to PR document type.
If I change the number range above then number range for MRP PR in present system will get affected..
Can you please advise me on above so that PR generated on MRP run should have appropriate number range?
Thanks & Regards,
Niti

Hi,
As per my understanding, what you have mentioned above is exactly the way SAP is designed. Its SAP Standard behaviour.
But if you check your PR document type - no:range & the CBP no:range both will be same only since both refers to the same object.
Please check the PR document type that you have assigned in the CBP & its no:ranges.
Thanks & Regards,
Ram

    Hi,
You can try the following option-
    1) Tcode - MM02-> MRP1 view - > Plant sp-matl status - 01 ( Blocked for procment/whse)
    2) Tcode - MM02-> MRP2 view - > Procurement type - Blank(No procurement)

  • Number Range for Purchase order

    Hi MM Masters,
Kindly give the solution in SAP for the following scenario.
The organisation consists of 5 company codes and 16 plants.
How to maintain the Number ranges for the Purchase orders Plantwise?
This requirement is for easy identification of Purchase orders on the basis of plants.
    Like for Plant 1 - 4500000000 to 4500050000
               Plant 2 -  4500050001 to 4500060000
               Plant 3 -  4500060001 to 4500070000 etc.
Kindly guide me. This requirement is urgent.
    Regards
    Yoganarasimha

    Hello Raj,
You need to define number range as usual, but when using the user exit at that time you need to give logic as per your requirement. Purchase order will allow to create two different line item for two different plant under the same company code so you need to consider that also (if using company specific or multi plant assignment for one purchase organization).
Work with developer for coding and expain him/her the logic, I am not technical expert so regret for not helping on coding.
    Hope this helps.

  • Number Range for Purchasing Groups

    Dear All,
I need to assign different number range for purchase order for different purchasing groups of same dosument type. In fact we want to distinguish purchase document depending on number range for different purchasing groups.
    Regards,
    Vikas

    Hi,
Document type concept is used when your procurement process is differ from standard procurement processes , that time you can go for u201CNew document typeu201D. For example: Standard procurement document type is u201CNBu201D when you have procurement processes like sub-contracting and formal order, that time you used different document type other then u201CStandard document typeu201D with new respective number ranges.
Also you have a way to keep different document type with number ranges if two company code there &  your business required to have PO document type with number range W.R.T. Company Code then can use User Exit M06B0003 ,MM06E003 & M06B0004 where you have option to have PO number range based on Company Code.
But as you required different number range for purchase order for different purchasing groups, You can use centralized  & decentralized purchasing groups  & can have centralized  & decentralized PO document types and can control all authorization in basis side.

  • Multiple number range for planned order

    Hi,
I want maintain different number range for MRP related planned order and manual creation planned orders. I have checked OPPQ and OMI2 transaction but i could not get any clue to create different number range for same plant. Let me know is how we can create.
    Regards / US

    Hi Uma,
number range is dependent on plant alone and I don't think there is an user exit or badi to change number range at planned order creation.
I guess the alternative is an enhancement or using some other field to determine what planned orders are manual.

  • Is it possible to define a seperate number range for purchase requisitions

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to define a seperate number range for purchase requisitions that come from Forecast vs normal MRP requisitions so that our purchasing department can identify the origin of the document?
    Thanks
    for the thoughts
    Sreeni

You'd need to figure out manually how forecast PR's are different from MRP PR's (the field from PR tables ) and then in the user exit I mentioned the program looks at the table T161 and field NUMKI, and if the PR getting created is from forecast change that NUMKI in the program to a different one else keep it as it is. If you're know abap programming it won't take long to figure out the logic else work with your developer to implement it.

  • Number Range for PR converted from MRP Run

    Dear Experts,
We are experiencing problems with our number range when converting our MRP generated planned orders into PRs. We convert planned orders to purchase requisitions using MD03. We have 1 Plant with 2 MRP Groups which assigned to specific document types and number ranges as well. For example:
    In T-code OMI8:
Plant AAAA --> Number Range 1111111111
(Because 1 Plant only able to have 1 number ranges)
    In T-code OPPZ:
Plant AAAA, MRP Group : A01--> PR Document Type : ZZZZ
Plant AAAA, MRP Group : A02 --> PR Document Type : XXXX
In T-code SPRO "PR Document Types" and "PR Document Ranges"
PR Document Type : ZZZZ --> Number Ranges 1111111111
PR Document Type : XXXX --> Number Ranges 2222222222
When I run MD03, the result is:
    MRP Group : A01 --> PR Document Type : ZZZZ --> Number Ranges : 1111111111
MRP Group : A02 --> PR Document Type : XXXX --> Number Ranges : 1111111111 (Why the number ranges is not 2222222222 ???????)
Does anyone have idea? Please help. Thanks a lot..

    Hi Mallinath,
    thanks for your info.
Note 46919 has been implemented in the system, and also i have maintain Tcode - OMI3:
    * Object Type : 2 (PR) --> PR Document Type : ZZZZ --> Internal number range : 1111111111 --> external number range : " " (blank) --> Reservations : 01
    * Object Type : 2 (PR) --> PR Document Type : XXXX--> Internal number range : 2222222222 --> external number range : " " (blank) --> Reservations : 01
But still system pick wrong number ranges (1111111111, instead of 2222222222 ) for PR Document Type XXXX if generated from MRP run.
Do you have any other idea? Thank you.

  • External number range for purchase order response?

    Hi all,
is it possible to use an external number range when creating purchase order responses (BUS2209, PCO, POR) manually?
If I transfer the POR from an external system like SUS via XML, can I use an external number range?
I'm using SRM 4.0 (EBP 5.0) in standalone scenario with Business Connector 4.7 as XML interface.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Karsten

    Hi
No need to maintian Internal number range.. Yes you need to use an external number range
Only the PO, RQ & RS are sync and therefore must correspond with the R/3 number ranges.
The rest, Shop Cart (SC), Local PO (EBP), Confirmation, Invoice, Bid Inv and Bid, aren't synced and can be assigned to any number range. (FYI- using ECS)

  • Material Number mandatory for PR exceptP for Service Purchase Requisition

    Hi All,
Our client's new requirement is we need to give material number mandatory for Purchase Requisition. But it should not affect for Service Purchase Requisition (as we don't have material number with material type DIEN. Till now, we were using Acc Assignment Category K and Item Category D with only Short Text description). We have separate document type for Service Purchase Requisition(ZSRV).
In order to make Material number mandatory, in PR, we need to give in "Define Screen Layout  at Document Level for PR",right? Is there any way to give, "Material Number Mandatory at Document Type Level"?
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    rosh

    hi sridhar,
Thank you for your answer. So as you said, there is no possibility to make material number as mandatory at DOCUMENT TYPE level through Customzining, right?

  • How to Assigning the number ranges for Purchase Order using EXIT_SAPMM06E_0

How to Assigning the number ranges for Purchase Order using EXIT_SAPMM06E_001 using Functional Module NUMBER_GET_NEXT explain me ?

    Hi,
First go thourh the FM import export parameters list.
Try to create an internal table of type INRI-NRRANGENR for number ranges.
We can provide the lower and higher values for this table so that what ever PO is created will be with that range.
Try to create the ncessary ones using this FM.
    In the Exit, EXIT_SAPMM06E_001,
    the Export parameters are-
EKKO-EBELN- the PO ios created with in that specified range
Range as INRI-NRRANGENR - Here try to assign the Internal table that was populated in the FM.
Try to code this in the Include provded and keep Breakpint and check the PO number generated.

  • Number Ranges for Purchasing Info Record

    Dear Guru's
Number range  interval for Purchase info record  can be  created and assign to group and there are two group for Stock and Non Stock materials.
Now my query is how the system pick the number range ??? Since we don't have any assignment like PR,PO
My requirement is we have 3 company code - I need to have different number ranges for purchase Info  record for each company . Guide me to achieve ...
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Anand

SAP has provided only Two standard document Types for Pur. Info Records.
IL for Stock Material ( with matl No.)
IN For material Group (w/o MMR).
By default, if you enter Matl No. in the initial screen, system automatically picks the doc. type IL and the no. range assigned to it.
If you're not entered matl. no. in the initial screen, and proceed the Transaction further, system picks the doc. type IN and prompts you to enter Matl Group.
In the second case, the system picks up the no. range as per assignment.
Here in your case, you want create a new no. range and assign to your IL/ IN.
For this, you go to the transaction Define No. Ranges in Inforecord, from menu bar, choose Group-> maintain. Here you maintain your new no. range with a name. Now your new group is created with your required no. range.
Then select your new group ( Check box), select, IL, and click assign button and save.. Your IL is assigned to your new group and system picks the new No. Range when you are creating a Inforecord with Mat No. Similarly, you can change No. range for IN also.
or one more option you have.
In the first screen of No. Ranges Transaction, select change intervals tab button, you'll be goto intervals screen. There, from Menu bar, choose Interval-> change current No. Then you reset your current no. to Zero, save it. The again choose Change Interval, then in that screen, change the Interval with your new no. range.
Here in the second case, u need not maintain new groups. Just changing the Interval for the existing group.
You can adopt any one of these options.

  • Purchase Requisition Release strategy for MRP based Requisition

    Hello Gurus
We want to set up the urchase Requisition Release strategy for MRP based Requisition ..Any can one Please share your experience about the impact down the road?
    Thanks
    Nick

    Hi,
If you want include the MRP related PR in Release strategy.
You need to include the field CEBANESTKZ-Creation Indicator (Purchase Requisition/Schedule Lines) in one of the characteristics which you create and include the characteristics value as per the field values like AReal time, BMRP, CConverted Planned order etc.. and include the charactristic in the Release Strategy will release group & release codes.
So when ever the PR is created through MRP run then this creation indicator will update in the PR as per that release Strategy will trigger in the PR.
there is one more option you need to create the separate document type as MRP PR then create document type as characteristics and include the values of all these document types and include in Release strategy.
But it will  not pop up for direct PR from MRP run only trigger when planned order is converted to PR manually there you need to select this MRP document type then release strategy will trigger.
I think first one is best suited.
