Issue opening pictures in Bridge

Hi,
I've recently moved to Adobe Creative Cloud and encounter a minor issue in Bridge; although I've tried to fix it I couldn't get it work, so here I am
Here's my problem: when pressing ctrl+O to open a file via Bridge to Photoshop, the image opens in Picasa (I was on Bridge CS5.5 before which worked great). I've already try to reset preferences (with ctrl pressed while launching Bridge), it still does not work.
Does anyone have a clue?
Thanks

Does anyone have a clue?
In Bridge preferences go to the tab 'file type associations. Find the file type you want to change and in stead of the current Picasa change it to Photoshop

  • Can't select pictures in bridge as they automatically open in acr

I am using a macbook pro. I have a problem with bridge.  When I have downloaded my pictures with photodownloader, they appear in bridge. There is no problem with them there until I try to click on one, it automatically opens it up in camera raw. I can use the arrow keys to navigate but I have to click on one to start and go through to acr, then quit out and return to bridge. This means I can't select multiple images to edit in raw because as soon as I click on one, it opens in raw straight away.  It makes no difference if I hold down cmd, option or shift or all of them in different combinations or even all at once.
This problem only recently started - I think maybe the latest upgrade has had something to do with it.
    It is really frustrating!!!

  • Open Pictures In Adobe Bridge

When I have the bridge open and I click on a picture to open it automatically opens in Fireworks unless I right click and chose Photoshop CS 4. How do I change the default to be Photoshop CS4 when I just regular click on a picture.

In Bridge go to  Edit > Preferences > File type Associations and set the picture file types to Photoshop.

  • When I click on pictures in bridge, then it will open them directly in photoshop, how do I prevent this?

I have to select pictures in bridge and I want to check the sharpness of each picture. However, this is not possible because almost every picture that I click, opened directly in Photoshop or Camera Raw. And that is not the intention! How do I get rid of this? Excuses me, my English is very bad...

They will only be where you put them.

  • Why are my edited pictures from bridge not saving when I automate batch files through PS?

When I edit my photos through adobe bridge (open camera raw, make adjustments to 1 picture), then automate (batch) my file folder in PS, the edits I have made don't save. Example, I crop an image & lighten it, I can view the adjusted image in bridge & camera raw, but when I batch my photos the editing I have done is gone.

Raw files need to be opened and saved before the adjustments are applied.  I have no clue what your "batch save" does.
A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.

  • Cannot open pictures in Window 8.1...getting message 'the remote procedure call failed". What is the solution?

cannot open pictures in Window 8.1...getting message 'the remote procedure call failed".  What is the solution?
I recently bought a new HP computuer and uploaded Window 8.1.  I then transfered photo files from old computer to new computer using a portable storage drive.
When trying to view the photos, a message pops up showing a file path...and the message 'the remote procedure call failed'.  Photos are in jpeg format.
Please let me know what I can do to view photos?

What program you use to view these photos? Choose another app to view these photos
     for a test.
This issue only occurred when you view photo? What is the result if we connect the
portable storage drive to other computer (if possible)?
Run sfc/scannow to check and fix if there are some missing or corrupted system files.
Check the event viewer to see the detailed information of this issue.

  • Updated my Macbook Air to Yosemite and now IMessage won't open pictures

I updated my Macbook Air to Yosemite a few days ago and since then IMessage has been acting up. It won't let open pictures now. A picture comes through titled "IMG_2882" but when I click on it, it comes up with a description of the image - the type of image, when it was last modified, etc. I click the 'Open with Preview" option and nothing happens. I'm regretting updating to Yosemite now. Is anyone else having this issue? I have no idea how to fix it. Please let me know if you have any ideas! Thank you!

If it is the third party apps crashing - try downloading another app - any free app is fine. See if that resets the other apps.

  • How do i open pictures in Camera Raw Window?

How do i open pictures in this window?

Easiest way is to browse that file in Bridge and right click and Select "Open in Camera Raw" or just double click to open(only for raw files) and it will open in a separate Camera Raw window.
You can do that same from PS as well using Filter > Camera Raw Filter, as already mentioned by Warunicorn.

  • I cannot open my Adobe Bridge.

I cannot open my Adobe Bridge. It keeps saying check with the developer and see if Bridge is compatible with my MAC OSX version. How do I solve this problem? It is literally impossible to actually speak with a human person about this issue so I am asking the community.

  • Cannot open acr in bridge.

Cannot open ACR in bridge. But im able to in photoshop using mini bridge only. keep getting a prompt saying "Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature. Running windows 7 64bit. never had this issue with CS5. Can someone help?

This is a workaround rather than a cure............................. for cs5 users............
If you are unable to open .jpg files in adobe Camera RAW from Bridge and the Preferences have been set correctly in Photoshop Preferences, and all avenues have been exhausted or you are getting the error message in Bridge when you right click, or  ctrl + r, or go to the ‘Open in Camera RAW’ button at the top of Bridge  and also Getting the error message :
‘Camera Raw Editing Is not Enabled, Camera Raw Editing Requires that a Qualifying Product has been Launched at least once to Enable this Feature’
And Bridge does open up RAW files OK
    Try this
    1.        In bridge, hit the ctrl + Alt key together and double click the .JPG image, this should open in Camera RAW (but only the one image clicked, not multiple files.
    or
    2.    Open Photoshop
    Go to File.....
    Browse in MIniBridge.........
    Browse for folder containing images..............
Find image, right click and open in camera RAW
(if you wish to open multiple files,  when a number of images have been selected,  the Camera Raw menu disappears when you right click), however, hold down the Alt + Crtl key together (Windows) and double click any of the highlighted images, they will all open in Camera RAW as they should do.

  • Problem opening pictures in imessage

On two iphone5 with ios7 pictures  in imessage are not opening; pictures say downloading but do not download.  If I turn the phone off and then on the picture area says tap to download but nothing happens.  When I am notified of a text with a picture the picture is present as a thumbnail before I unlock the phone but does not show up when the phone is unlocked.  2 ipads with ios7 do show the pictures without an issue.  Ideas?

not sure why, but figured out a workaround.  Phone set up to receive messages from 2 iphone numbers, and person sending was sending to both phone numbers.  Sending message to only one of numbers allowed the pictures to show up.

It has also done the same to the already opened pictures I had received prior to updating my iphone. can anyone help with this ??

    Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • Opening pictures in iPhoto from other programs

I'm wanting to use pictures from my iPhoto library in other programs-- i.e. Photoshop Elements or to upload to a website. When working from Photoshop Elements, when I go to File>Open>Pictures>iPhotoLibrary I get an error message. The only way I seem to be able to USE any of my photos stored in iPhoto is if I copy them to my "pictures" folder in the Finder and then use them. Of course, this means I am using double the space on my hard drive. There must be an easier way. What am I doing wrong?

So if I use Photoshop as an external editor, the Save function is only saving a copy? Does the copy go back into the original event this way?
When you set Photoshop (or an Image Editor) as an external and then go to edit the pic here's what happens:
    1. iPhoto makes a copy of the file and sends the copy to Photoshop
    2. Make your edits
    3. Save.
    4. The Edited version is returned to iPhoto and saved in the Modified Folder.
    5. A new thumbnail is made and replaces the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window
Thereafter if you want to get to the Original you have several options:
a: Photos -> Revert to Original - this destroys the modified version
b: Export using the File -> Export command, set the *Kind: Original*
    c. Any other form of export yields the edited version.
In Windows if one chooses save when editing in Photoshop, the original is overwritten,
This is true in Photoshop on the Mac too, the difference is you're using iPhoto, and it's +iPhoto making the copy+. Hence the 'Save As' to preserve your original is unnecessary.
which i can't seem to access in Finder browse mode or from iPhoto
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
