Issue - [Receiving Text]

My aplogies if this has already been dealt with in a previous post.
Since yesterday every text I receive from my girlfriend is incomplete and has [Receiving Text] either at the end or sometimes half way through a message (the rest of the message follows it). These messages never complete no matter how long I wait and when she sends me another message the missing part from that message occasionally appears in the previous message where the rest of that text was missing!
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Hey ddgonz,
It sounds like, according to this document, if you no longer have your iPhone, and you're unable to receive SMS on your non-Apple device when sent from another person using an iPhone, you'll want to contact Apple support:
If you still cannot deactivate iMessage after you perform the steps above, or if you no longer have access to the iPhone, please contact Apple support for assistance.

  • HT5957 Just downloaded iOS 7.0.2 and I'm now experiencing issues receiving text messages.  In particular, replies to my text messages.  Any ideas on a fix?  Thanks in advance...

Downloaded iSO 7.0.2 and now I'm not receiving replies to my text messages.  I've tested it with someone standing next to me, their phone shows their reply sent and my phone gets nothing.  Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?  Thanks in advance

    Try the following:
Go to Settings > Messages > iMessages > disable
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
let it do it's thing and reset.
Then go to Settings > Messages > iMessages > enable
You'll then have to go back to your Wifi and re-enter your router credentials.

  • Why can't I receive texts on my Galaxy S5 from friends still using iPhones?

Apparently there's a huge problem with the Galaxy S5 receiving texts messages from iPhones.  I was never aware of it until I ordered my S5 and switched from an iPhone 5.  They never mentioned anything in the reviews on Verizon, Samsung or anywhere selling the S5 but if you google the issue, it's all over the internet.  They're blaming it on Apple but my sister has the Galaxy S4 and never had an issue receiving texts from my iPhone.  Apparently there's no fix for it either.  One person said they've had it for a month and still can't receive texts.  Any clues?

What are you talking about?. There is a fix. See link above.
There are many more at the apple support site. It primarily means the imessage was never turned off from the Apple servers. Once removed text messages can be sent and received easily. Between iPhone and android device and vis a vie.
    Good Luck

  • HT4528 I just bought a new 4s and I can't send or receive texts. Also when anyone calls me it comes up as unknown but I transferred all my contacts. Is this a carrier issue or is this my device?

I just bought a new 4s and I can't send or receive texts. Also when anyone calls it comes up as "unknown" but I transferred all my contacts. Is this a device issue or a carrier problem?? I've tried everything. Reset the network and some a hard reset but no changes.

I believe the root cause is IOS5.01. same problem on my iphone4s with IOS5.01. Now I have a expensive I-touch!  wake up steve.............. I suggest you change your sim cark from 64k to 128k. or just waiting next generation IOS.

I have been having issues with not receiving texts and voicemails daily, for a few months now. If I turn the phone completely off, when I turn it back on the messages will flood in from hours before. I can't be continually turning off my phone in case someone left me a message. How do I resolve this issue?

Wifi:  my Cell phone will remember 10 wifi connections.  So delete any you don't use often and your home wifi and try to enter home wifi again.
if it still won't connect to home wifi, call your internet provider for help.  You may need a newer router or different settings Or upgraded service.   Your phone seeks the best connection and will refuse lesser connections.
last resort.  Backup the phone.  Do a full reset, then restore as new with the backup.
if still not fixed, go back to apple and insist on repair or replacement.
HOWEVER.   voicemail is not a wifi issue, it's a carrier function, which is why the SIM card is a suspect.

  • Since last weekend (3-15-15) I have been unable to send/receive text messages with a friend who has Sprint service. The messages send with no errors on either side, but neither side is receiving the messages. Is anyone else having any similar issues?

Since last weekend (3-15-15) I have been unable to send/receive text messages with a friend who has Sprint service. The messages send with no errors on either side, but neither side is receiving the messages. It seems to be only this one person affected by this issue, everyone else that I've tried sending messages to has responded with no trouble. Is anyone else having any similar issues?

    julie@remax,
I know that this would concern me just the same and we want to make sure that your device is connected and receiving these notifications when available. How long have you been having this issue? Are you receiving a specific error message when sending a message? Are you aware if this happens in one location specifically or everywhere you go? Does the issue with messaging occur with all numbers? Share some details, so that we may assist.

  • Hi! Just got my new ihpone 4 yesterday, but i'm having issues in texting a specific contact. sending sms or iMessages works perfectly fine with all my contacts apart from 1,which is even using my same network, though i can call it and receive sms from it.

My Quad is as quiet with 10.4.5 as it was on arrival Jan 31, with 10.4.2
Altivec Fractal Carbon gives the CPU too much chance to cool down. I've got other ways to drive the CPU to sustained 100% load. Yes, the fans speed up, but it's still pretty quiet. I've run it at 100% for hours.
I like the idea of taking things gradually. If you can wait a few days before making big changes, it can make things much easier. 3-4 weeks is very conservative, but great if you have that much patience.
My Quad has been up full-time since I got it. Works perfectly.

  • HT5622 my new samsung phone will not receive text messages from my old iphone friends and family.  I was told that I need to close my icloud account in order to correct this issue but I cannot find a way to close my icloud.  Help?

You can try changing the password for the Apple ID you were using for iMessage on your iPhone by going to https://iforgot.apple.com.  If that doesn't help, you'll have to contact Apple support for assistance: http://www.apple.com/support/contact/.

  • I can call out but all incoming calls are going directly to VM with no signal that I missed a call or have VM. I can send/receive text messages from other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users, I am assuming this is really "iMessage." Is it apple software?

I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
Problems: Suddenly ALL  incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive)  other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem  solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before.  Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?

        jsavage9621,
It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • Only receive texts from certain numbers

Aside from having the absolute worst customer support of the various phone services I've used ( I was seriously on the phone for 45 minutes trying various ways to get through the machine to get to a customer service rep. Continuously said, "Sorry we couldn't help you, goodbye." or, "We couldn't connect your call". ) I can no longer receive texts from certain numbers.
I can send texts and people receive them. I can receive texts back from some of these people, however when others try to text me it goes instead to a random person. (Which seems to be the same person their texts are getting forwarded to each time. )
I've turned off the call forwarding with *73, I've updated my software, I've TRIED to get in touch with a customer service representative about my account, but that's seemingly impossible.
Offer me a suggestion or don't. This is my last month with Verizon no matter what. Inconvenience on top of inconvenience on top of inconvenience.

Having text message work properly is very important. I'm sorry you are having so many issues with your service and that you have not been able to contact customer service. You can reach us at *611 or 1-800-922-0204 and hit 0 to speak to a representative. You can also send us a private message with your name and phone number so that we can call you and take a look at the account in detail. What phone do you have and are you using a 3rd party text messaging application?
