Issue Running a Dashboard on iPad using Oracle BI Mobile App 11.1.1.5

Hi All,
I have an Oracle BI dashboard (11g) which I'm trying to access through an iPad. I have Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile App (version 11.1.1.5) installed on the iPad and the version of the Oracle BI EE Server is 11.1.1.6.0
Functionality of the Dashboard

The dashboard consists of 15 tabs. The first tab is an Overview tab from where a user is required to select the value for a scenario. Once the user selects a particular scenario and clicks on Apply button the charts on the Overview tab, as well as the data for all other tabs gets generated and the user can select different tabs and view their data.
Results Obtained (till now)

The above Dashboard is working perfectly fine when tested on
i. Internet Explorer
ii. Apple iPhone & iPad - Safari Browser
ii iPhone - Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile App
Problem Running the Dashboard on iPad ( using Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile App)

When I open the Dashobard, the initial Overview tab appears. As soon as I select a Scenario and click on Apply button, the Overview tab gets generated perfectly fine but the drop down list for selecting the other related reports (tabs) stops appearing.
The Refresh, Properties, Mobile/ Original Layout and Favorites icon on iPad screen all stop functioning.
However, if I do not select a Scenario in the Overview tab and simply click on the dropdown I'm able to view and select from the list of other available reports (tabs) in the Dashboard. The other tabs open up but do not display any components which completely or partially depend on the scenario chosen on the Overview page. Only the components which are independent of Scenario selection appear on the other tabs.
Selecting the Scenario in the Overview tab and applying it is a mandate for getting results on other reports (tabs) but once this is done then the complete navigation stops as explained above.
The same Dashboard is however working perfectly fine with the same App on iPhone.
If anyone has any idea about how to resolve this issue, Please help.

What OS did the Mac come pre-installed with, or have you upgraded it to Lion or Mountain Lion? You should be able to re-install using Internet Recovery, if you were on either of those OS's.
Restart holding down Command + Alt (Option) + r
You'll probably prompted for your Apple ID and you'll need to have the Mac connected to the internet - ideally via ethernet cable, although wifi should be OK if you have a reliable connection.

If you're on an earlier OS you'll need to use the grey restore disk that came with the Mac. Post back if you need more info.

Understanding Oracle BI Mobile App

I tried to connect the BI Mobile App (Ipad) with my BIP 11.1.1.6 installation with no success:
Error 404--Not Found

Am I wrong with my understanding? Why I can't connect?
What's the minimal setup?
Or do I need to install the (whole) BI Suite?
The "New Features" List makes me think that BI Publisher Standalone is sufficient!?

Hi
Importing apps into the Apperian platform is very easy. There is no SDK or other limitation that is required for the app to work once deployed with Apperian. Inboarding is a very easy and quick process that requires the binary and some metadata information from the administrator and takes a couple of minutes max.
Apperian also provides a Publishing API (public) that enables one-button integration from a development platform into Apperian. While Oracle BI Mobile App Designer is not yet integrated that way, it is a very quick process that took very little effort with other platforms.
Once inboarded, any process to integrate the app with company policies (via inspection of the app, applying security or adoption policies, integration with corporate identity management, etc.) is done without having to rebuild the app. All in all, it is a very easy process to follow.

Issue with creating Web Service Client using Oracle JDeveloper

Hi All,
I am trying to create a Web Service Client using Oracle JDeveloper. I set the Project compiler property to JRE 1.4
When I run the web service client, it throws me bunch of errors saying:
'Error(32,2): annotations are not supported in -source 1.4'
I am wondering why JDeveloper is using annotations even after I set the compiler property to 1.4

Thanks for your prompt response.
You are right. JDeveloper 11g uses JDK 6 style annotations for the clients it creates. But you can change the JRE Version used at compile time by following these steps:
1. In the Applications Navigator, right-click the Project Nanem node and select Project Properties... from the context menu.
2. Select the Compiler node and check the Source Files and Generated Class Files dropdown lists. You may change these versions depending on the version of the JRE you are using with Forms to ensure that the compiled
classes from JDeveloper can be read by the JRE used by Form.
So I selected JDK version 1.4 there.
Sorry that I did not mention that we are using Oracle Forms 10g. That is the reason I selected JDK 1.4

Can wife's iPad use my music and apps if authorized?

We have a new iPad for my wife but set up under my name to get all our apps and music already purchased under my name. Can I authorize her iPad so she can use my music and apps but set it up under her name on iPad? Since it is currently under my name we can't use FaceTime. I think the iPad FaceTime thinks I am trying to call myself when I try to FaceTime my iPhone. Please advise. Thank you

Yes. You can add another email address as her "contact at" email address (Apple will verify the email address) and then you can uncheck (remove the checkmark) next to your Apple ID email address on her iPad and she can begin using the new email address for FaceTime.

5.     Go to Help > Check for updates

7.     Select "Install From Local File"
8.     Select the Oracle ADF Mobile ZIP you downloaded on step 3
9.     Finish the process
Now you have JDeveloper with Oracle ADF Mobile sucessfully installed!

I have created construction drawings for my company that can be customized in Adobe Reader by turning on/off layers. (example: construction detail ) I understand that you cannont manipulate layers on Adobe Reader's mobile app. Any chance that this might become available in the near future?

Yes you can use the RMSDK to create an Android application. The biggest cavaet is that RMSDK is C++ based, where Android development is most naturally done in Java. So you have to choose between creating JNI interfaces (not provided with RMSDK), or creating a non Java application using the Android NDK.

Issues connecting to sql 2005 database using Oracle sql developer 1.2

I just installed the sql developer and was trying to use the quick migrate to try a migration from a sql server to oracle..
I am getting the following error message when i click on the retrieve database after entering the database credentials
Status : Failure net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.driver
I am getting another error message when i click on the 'test' button
Status: Failure - Unable to find driver: net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.driver
I downloaded the jtds driver from source forge and i am wondering what I should do to get the sql developer to make successful connections to sql server.
Any help is appreciated.

I have the same issue with both version 1.1.3 of the SQL developer and the latest version(1.2.1). I have added the jar file path in tools->preferences->Database->Third Party etc...
I got the jar file from this download: jtds-1.2.2-src.zip

Anyone running ArcGIS arcpy Python scripts using Oracle 11g EM AGENT?

I have a Windows command file that successfully executes an ArcGIS arcpy Python script when run manually or via Task Scheduler . But when executed by the EM Agent, arcpy doesn't recognize the SDE connection string file as a workspace for connecting to the geodatabase. The manual execution on the server uses the same login as the EM Agent.
I have verified all the environment variables for the EM Agent are the same as those for running natively on the server. I then used arcpy to describe the file type using both execution methods.

Issues running CP8 project to iPad users via Blackboard Learn?

I have created a project using Cp8 and, when deployed via Bb Learn to learners using iPads I am experiencing a range of issues.
These are as follows:
- Some users losing connecting with host API (I'm guessing this may be down to web connection or perhaps even user profile)
- Some users can access the learning but video doesn't play (again, I think this will be a web connection related issue)
- Some videos do not play properly the first time the learner lands on a video slide (it plays but I get only audio - also no playhead) - I have next and back buttons on each slide and, when I navigate away form the slide containing the event video, then navigate back to the page, the video plays fine.
Has anyone experienced similar issues and can you help me benefit from your experience please?

Andy's right. FCP is barely able to take advantage of multiple cores on a single machine (and it does get some benefit from multiple cores for some processes) you certainly won't be able to hook up an additional computer and get FCP to communicate with it. Compressor is the only program in the suite that does distributed processing. And even then, you might not get much out of it by adding an additional G5. Don't invest your money in any more G5s. Save it for an upgrade to Intel. That's what's slowing you down. Also, render your Motion projects in FCP if you want to see them in real time.

Having Issue with Service Monitor Report when using Oracle DB

It looks like the repConfig.xml file needs to be updated. If so, what elements? Anything else i am missing?

You need to add a Gateway node the service monitor.
To do this browse to http://HOST:8040/
Using the default port, you can connect to the Service Monitor interface in a browser, where HOST points to the IP address or hostname of the machine on which Service Monitor is installed.
Right mouse click and add the Gateway node.

HT201272 Can two synchronised ipads use the same purchased apps

I have two i-pads with shared free apps, but when I purchased one from the i-tunes store recently it would not show up on both. How do I share this language course with both i-pads?

If you are using the same iTunes account on both iPads then you should be able to re-download the app on the second iPad via the Purchased tab in the App Store app. If you always want any new app purchases to download on both then you should be able to turn on automatic downloads via Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores if they are on iOS 6).
