Issue settings.sol in Flash Player 14.0.0.145
Hello,
First of all I apologize for my bad english.
I have identified a problem with settings.sol of (in combination with) Flash Player 14.0.0.145.
Below I try to explain the problem;
Scope:
Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.145
Windows 7 x64 | x86
Internet Explorer 10 | 11
Packaging and distribution Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0145 (User Part)
Preparation
1 - Surf with Internet Explorer to:
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.html
2 – Uncheck "Notify me when an update to Adobe Flash Player is available"
3 - Close Internet Explorer
4 - This change is stored in %APPDATA%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\settings.sol
5 - Remove now everything under %APPDATA%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\
6 - Surf again with Internet Explorer to:
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.html
Issue
7- The result should be: a check mark on "Notify me when an update to Adobe Flash Player is available". But, is still unchecked
The problem does not occur in Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0125 or before
What I need
The location (file / registry) where the changes are saved except settings.sol?
(I already monitored. without positive results)
Thanks for your help...
If you are having a problem downloading Adobe Flash Player 14 in Safari and it won,t complete the last step i.e. the spinning beach ball, try this:
Go to this website:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.ht ml#main-pars_heading_11
Go to Troubleshoot Flash Player download issues
Download from the Direct link
Click (here) to download Flash Player
I tried for an hour or more on different solutions without avail, and this link did the job for me. Let me know if it works for you!

Feedback: Online Settings Manger for Flash Player
Font in online settings manager for Flash Player is way too small. Please give users the option to increase size. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. Could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com? Please post back with the URL so that others affected can add their comments and votes. You might also be interested in using the native control panel which can be found with your computer's system control panels.

Performance issues in latest PPAPI Flash Player releases?
Hi there,
I've recently noticed some pretty serious performance issues in the latest versions of the PPAPI Flash Player in Chrome.
I'm using:
Windows 7 64-bit
Chrome Version 41.0.2272.101 m (64-bit)
Flash Player PPAPI Version: 17.0.0.134
I've noticed a large drop in performance recently when updating Chrome, I have been using Away3D 4.1 (using Stage3D) to create a series of Generative Art experiments, if you check out the one below I find that in Internet Explorer and Firefox (using the NPAPI version of the Flash Player) the FPS performance on my system is around 35-40 fps for me, but in Chrome's PPAPI player it drops drastically to around 6 or 7 fps.
I just recently updated my Chrome version so this is a recent change... around a few weeks ago this content was working fine in Chrome, around the same 35-40 fps I am getting in other browsers.

Is anyone else out there seeing these performance issues with recent releases of Chrome's PPAPI Flash Player?Hi Quentin,
Thanks again for looking into this, I've listed my work and home dxdiag info for you below:

Issue with Youtube and Flash Player, videos don't play after a while
When I go to Youtube I can watch videos, but after I've player 5 or 6, when I select the next one, I get a snowy screen with a message "The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback. Get the latest Flash Player". Issues is I already have the latest Flash Player, and it was playing fine just a minute ago. But from then on I cannot play more videos until I restart the computer. I'm tired of reinstalling Flash every day.
Win 7 64 bits, IE 9 and Firefox (happens with both)
Flash Player 11.7.700.202
Apparently the browser at first recognizes that Flash is installed, but then it doesn't find it anymore. Not sure how that happens.strangest thing... a few 'non-youtube' sites still work ok, but still complain 'no javascript' ..
so went to firefox (v17.0.4 ESR) 'tools, options, content' and yup, javascript UNTICKED!! :O :O my bad memory? something else??? {shrugs}
ticked it, now ok........ think im getting old?????? ROFL.. -
I'm having issues down loading adobe flash player
I've tried to down load the adobe flash player and I'm having issues, I'm doing everything right then this stupid black screen comes up and nothing happens?
I need help or please fix this issues Thank You!The big Step 1 button that says Install doesn't install anything. It downloads the installer to your Mac. Note that Step 2 tells you what to do next:
To proceed, open your download folder and locate the Adobe Flash Player Installer file, named like "AdobeFlashPlayer[xxx]_install.dmg”.
The file you'll find there should be named:
AdobeFlashPlayer_17_ta_install.dmg
Double click the .dmg file to open it. You'll see this:
Click the "Install Adobe Flash Player" package. When the installation is done, you can close this window and dismount the .dmg file by putting the "drive" icon that appeared on the desktop in the trash. You can then delete the .dmg file as you no longer need it.
The Step 3 Adobe shows is completely pointless. -

Issues after installing latest Flash Player
Hi,
A little while ago I downloaded and installed the latest version of Flash Player 11.8.800. I have a Mac running OS X 10.6.8 and use Safari 5.0.5 as my browser.
Since installing I have been having two main problems.
The first is that I won't be able to click on certain buttons on a webpage. For some reason the buttons seem to not react to either a mouse click or the enter key. There doesn't seem to be any consistency in which buttons or when though.
The second problem is that sometimes if I go to play a video, e.g. on facebook that uses flash, it closes Safari with an error report.
I have followed the troubleshooting guide and uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times including deleting the file directories mentioned. I have checked the preferences are set correctly in Safari. One thing that I have noticed is that in one of the FAQ's it mentions that if Flash is installed correctly that there should be two files 'Flash Player.plugin' and 'flashplayer.xpt' in the 'Computer > Library > Internet Plug-ins.' directory. These files are not there before and after re-installing.
The only way I can stop the two errors mentioned is to close Safari completely and re-open, but this is of course isn't practical.
Any advice on what may be causing this and what I can do to rectify it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
MaxMax,
Have you tried creating another user account (admin) and installing Flash Player under that account to see if it installs and works differently?
That's usually the best test to see if your user account needs permissions repaired. Plugins not installing where they should is a symptom of broken permissions in a user account. -

Issues with the new flash player upgrade
I work for a magazine where I have interactive slideshows for
image based content. With the upgrade of the new flash player all
the getURL flash buttons are inert. All the buttons are doing are
going to the next page in the slideshow. How do I get them to work
with the new player. I understand I may need an "AllowAccess"
parameter to make it work but not sure where it goes. Here's one of
the files in question:
http://spectrum.ieee.org/apr08/6157/
The script is real basic to make it somewhat error proof
on (release) {
getURL("
http://spectrum.ieee.org/apr08/6157/10");
Any help would be appriciatedAt work, symantec endpoint. At home, norton. Ever since firefox 15, no flash version works except for 11.2. Now that ff18 was pushed out, it "forces" the upgrade to 11.5, and absolutely will not accept anything less. But as with any version of flash that was not 11.2, it just causes firefox to freeze up completely.

Button issues (still?) in Flash Player 10?
We've recently run into problems with standard CP buttons (Back, Continue) intermittently failing in Flash Player 10 (10,1,85,3 to be exact).
We're talking pure standard button functionality (on click Continue), and most times the buttons will work fine. Other times the same button will fail to act (will depress but not click). It seems to be almost purely random -- one time I'll get through the movie with all Continue buttons working fine; I'll clear my cache, replay the movie and a button on slide 2 will not respond; I'll clear my cache, replay the movie, get through slide 2 fine and the button on slide 30 won't respond; ad infinitum.
We're talking IE8, ~100-slide movie created in CP4, published for AS2 - Flash Player 8. We have tried publishing with and without a preloader, to no effect.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks!I think brightonjon was on the right track. Although I don't think we were (necessarily/always) clicking before the pause point, I DO think that timing, frames, etc. were a complicating factor. On the advice of a colleague I changed all of the button functions from "continue" to "go to next slide" (and of course adjusting slide timing/boundaries, etc.), and go to next slide seems to work much more reliably (i.e., no one's gotten it to break yet in a half-day of intermittent testing).
FWIW, the movie was created in CP4, published for Flash Player 8, Action Script 2 (required for compatibility with related SWFs). Publishing to FP9 or FP10 in CP4 (mostly grasping at straws) made no improvement.
Vish, as noted, this was created in CP4. Again grasping at straws, I did download CP5 yesterday, converted a copy of the CP4 source, and published for Flash Player 10 (AS3 of course). Interesting results: although most of the continue functionality behaved more reliably, intermittently the timeline would just blow right through a button as if it had been clicked. (In these cases I'd see the button on screen momentarily and then the movie would proceed on the timeline.)
Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I now have a much greater appreciation of the complexity of pausing/resuming on the timeline, and wherever possible plan to avoid having to rely on "continue" functionality. -
Issues with Opera and Flash Player
Hi everybody!
I just installed Arch Linux some days ago on my SSD drive and I have to say I'm loving it!
However, I'm having troubles with flashplayer on Opera. I installed both the browser and the plugin from the official repository.
The plugin is correctly recognized by opera and listed in opera:plugins but whenever I visit a page which requires it, all I can see is a black rectangle instead of the video.
In the wiki there are some suggestions on how to optimize the plugin; I tried those but they didn't work.
On firefox everything works fine, but I'd prefer to stay on Opera.
I also tried with gnash-gtk but also that doesn't work on opera
As suggested on a post on the opera website I also checked the dependencies of the flash player, but all the required shared libraries are present on the system.
I don't know what else to do. Any ideas?

Uninstall Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.145 - IE 11
Since installing Adobe 14.0.0.145 Xcelsius has stopped working. I received the recommendation to replace the new version by the other older. I installed version 11 but I am still have the same issue. I am using with Windows 8.1, IE 11, the version of the plug-in is 11.3.300.273 but remains the ActiveX 14.0.0.145 version. I would like to install version 15 but the system shows me a message mentioning that I already have the latest version installed on my browser and that Windows update will let me know when new versions are available. Some suggestions on how could I proceed to clean all versions ans install again version 15?
Hello,
On Windows 8.x, Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer and updates are released via updates to Internet Explorer. There is no way to uninstall Flash Player for Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x
Flash Player 15 was released today and Microsoft also released their update today. You can manually check for updates by running Windows Update > Check for Updates instead of waiting for Microsoft to tell you an update is available. This method will only update Flash Player for Internet Explorer. If you use other browsers (minus Google Chrome), you can update the Plugin by navigating to get.adobe.com/flashplayer with that browser. If you use Google Chrome, Google embeds Flash Player in Chrome and releases updates, either via component update or a Chrome update.
HTH.
