Greetings, I'm currently having a problem with calling others on skype and recieving skype calls, and recieving notifications with skype on my mobile device.
My device specfications are:
Samsung Galaxy S4 (SCH-l545) w/ stock Android 4.4.2 & WiFi (home/office netowkr), Skype v5.1.0.56619
I have uninstalled skype several times, and have restarted my phone several times. The problem persisted randomly and I'm able to call echo123 on Skype sometimes.
Specifically what happens is once I make a skype phone call is, once the person whom I'm calling answers the call ends in roughly 3-5 seconds and shows my home screen wallpaper and ends in about 5 seconds. I can hear once they answer if they are talking then the skype call ends.
My second issue is I do not recieve skype notifications such as IM chats, skype calls, or any type of notificaiton on skype. I sometimes do but it is random. My connection is 500 mbps download/upload and I'm calling right near my router on Skype on my phone.
I found a solution by installing a modified version of skype on an older version but it seems to work with echo123 and does not solve the issue fully. I can't call others on my contacts nor can I recieve notifications on Skype from my phone.

This happened last night and It happened again today. I was in a call with a friend for about 5 hours, as soon as the call ended I get an Activex error: "One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed", This appeared again after I hit Ok. I have gotten this error previously before I didn't worry too much about it, but then I notice my Anti virus (Microsoft secuirity essentials) is flipping out telling me its blocking something. Immedietly afterwards I ensured that my Anti virus, Java, windows updates and everything it told me to do on the above page. Ran a full scan and it came up with nothing, everything was fine. After this happened I installed a bunch of windows updates and started looking around, and saw that people reporting that Skype ads have been compromised and have been receiving malware. Seeing this I decided this might be the cause as I don't go to potentually harmful sites. Far too Paranoid.
Has anyone else been having this problem?

Yes, exactly the same tonight. A call I was in got dropped and I had an ActiveX error message popup followed by MSE immediately throwing up a hit for this 'Blacole' virus. I don't know if anyone can shed some light on whether damage will have been done or not.

I'll probably be formatting and throwing Skype in the bin prior to changing all my passwords anyway. This wasn't the first time I had the ActiveX bull**bleep** relating to a skype ad popup either :[ I'm curious - are you from the UK? I read about people trying to block ads and the tip wasn't working because people in different locations were recieving different content.

Skype Calls randomly disconnecting my entire lapto...

I've been having a problem with my Lenovo Yoga 11s and skype calls. I'm able to have a solid connection to skype and send messages but whenever I call, it's inevitable that the skype call ends up crashing/lagging until the call drops. This also results in a loss of internet for my entire laptop. I've also tried this on another wireless internet connection and got the same results. Is there anyway to fix this? I've tried a clean reinstall and downgrading to older versions but it's been no help. The calls can last from 2 minutes to 28 minutes before they disconnect.
Also, I never had this issue on my previous laptop (that also connected to this same internet connection) so I'm thinking my internet must be fine. My brother can skype without a problem, it seems to be an isolated problem.

I bought a camera (CY-STC1100) for my Samsung Smart TV (UE55D8000) to Skype. I can video call but I cannot hear the incoming call on my TV speakers. Is there a setting I am missing to increase the volume .

Skype is designed on purpose to make use of the TV speakers and not to output any audio to external speaker systems. The reason for this is to ensure that the audio being picked up from the TV's microphone during a Skype call isn't affected the audio coming out of your TV speakers from the person at the far end of the call. If audio were allowed to be sent to external speakers (the type, placement, volume of which will vary in each living room) then it would be impossible to effectively cancel out the echo on the call and you would get terrible howling.
However, when you make a Skype call the audio should be automatically routed to your TV speakers without you having to manually switch to them.
Let me check with Samsung to make sure this is the case...

Skype Subscription - Mexico - Call Ended

Hi there i recently added a skype subscription to mexico so i can call landline and mobile phones, but there is a problem. Everytime i try to call my friends in Chiapas it says call ended, but I know the number is correct and everything is entered correctly becasue i can call it on my Mexico telcel phone. Can anyone give me any tips as to why this isnt working?

When calling a Mexican mobile phone from Skype, you have to start the number with +52 1 followed by the Mexican area code and number. The +52 is the Mexican country code, and the 1 that comes after it is a special code to signal that the call is going to a Mexican mobile phone. This is mandatory for people calling Mexican mobiles from outside Mexico, including through Skype. You don't use 01, 044, or 045 when calling Mexican mobile phones from Skype, either.

Skype constantly hanging up on android samsung gal...

Hi folks.
I often use skype to talk to my buddies during evenings. I have a samsung S4 I9505 (vers 5.0.1) while a majority also have samsung phones, with a variation of models. The contact I spend most time talking to has a samsung (unsure of the model, some kind of lesser expensive galaxy, firm 5.0.1). Now to my questions.
I have been talking to my friend every day, constantly for a month. During the conversations, Skype spontaneusly at least three to four times per hour, regularly. What happens is that suddenly, I stop hearing my friend and there is silence for six to seven seconds and Skype hangs up. I will try to describe in detail:
We both use Wifi.
We both have chargers connected while talking or at least I do.
Skype actually hangs up "call ended", but does not crash, the program is still active.
I have no problems with other apps whatsoever.
Both of our phones aren't tampered with in any way, they have stock firmware and they are automatically updated.
My other question is that I have noticed that Skype automatically increases volume if it senses a say, tvshow or blender in background, spontaneusly increasing volume of background noise so becomes like really, really loud. Especially with speaker on. Is there a way to switch off this feature? There is a way on PC, was just wondering if I'm missing something.
I am sorry for starting a potentially redundant topic, been searching around but found nothing that at least fits my description.

I've run into a similar (but opposite) situation recently. I upgraded my Mac to 10.10.3 around the same time I upgraded to the latest Skype application (around April 13th). Now my non-Skype contacts do not appear in any of my custom lists. My contacts are only in the "All" list. They still are fine on my iPad, however.
When I select a contact on my Mac, all of the checkboxes for which custom list the contact should be in are blank (unchecked). I've reinstalled older versions of Skype for Mac and wiped out the settings. This did not make a difference which makes me think the list settings stored on the Skype servers have been damaged.
The iPhone version of Skype doesn't seem to even have access to these custom lists. Skype keeps getting worse and worse with each update!

IPhone 5 call quality issue. (Either call ends or very choppy on the other end)

At random times my calls don't go through. The phone says call ended and doesn't ring. The reception is either full or close to full. This has occurred numerous times while calling different numbers. If I do manage to get the phone to ring, the person on the other end wouldn't be able to hear me as it would be very choppy. I have tried to reset the network settings with no luck. It is a random thing that happens at random times. It is not the carrier issue as all other functions of the phone work. Also this phone is an unlocked unit from Apple and is not in the U.S.

I just replied to a similar post and I'll copy and paste my response here. I was having the same exact issue. Here is my possible fix.
Yesterday I updated the OS to the latest release. Then right after that I called AT&T and they reset my sim card. Or something like that. They did some sort of reset.
I then got in my car and drove around to test the phone. Because that is when the problem is worse. FINALLY they claim to be able to hear me clearly!!!!
I think it was the combination of both the OS update and the sim card reset that fixed it. Hopefully..... It has only been one day but so far so good. I'll update this post if things change.
Try this and let us know if this works for you.

Has anyone else had iCloud notes automatically deleted after ending a skype call?

I was making notes during a Skype call and when I ended the call the note was gone.
This has happened twice now, the first time I presumed it was my mistake. When it happened again in exactly the same conditions I knew it wasn't my doing.
has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know if the notes are recoverable?

Skype call - Samsung LED 101 cm 40F5500

I have purchased this TV for my office and am sorry to report that SKYPE just does not work on this. Though other apps work absolutely fine.
Got a separate ethernet connection of 3 MBPS and yet the Skype call doesn't work properly - the picture, the sound etc all keeps fluctating and it is impossible to have a normal chat. Tried calling other laptops, PC, TV and yet the result is the same. I have also complained to the local SAMSUNG help line over the last 4 months and still the problem continues.
My questions - 1) Why can't I see the call strength meter while I am connected on a skype call ? I can see it on my mobile/laptop/pc but not on my TV ?
2) Who will help me on this ? - Skype team or Samsung team ?
Awaiting any advice that can help me.

I'm sorry, but we had made so many changes (the Advisor and I) and it was only after I shared y home screen with him that he had me disable my anti-virus firewall....and everything worked fine afterwards. We went through a number of steps including removing a number of neighbors wifi signals and most important was the changing of the wifi channels.If anyone is using an Anti-virus program, I would suggest that they disable the firewall and then see if their devices connect to the same wifi.

(Lync 2013) Lync Web App: Call ended because of network connectivity issues

I'm having a very strange problem with Lync Web App. When I try to join a meeting, it works in the following conditions:
- With the Lync 2013 windows client: always (internal network, external network)
- Lync Web App: Works in internal network. When I'm on an external network, I'm able to join a meeting, but when Lync Web App tries to establish the call, it ends with the error: "Call ended because of network connectivity issues".
On the other hand, IM works with Lync Web App (internal/external network). But all the other features (presentation, audio call, video call) are not working.
Did anyone experience such an issue ?

Since the issue only happen on Lync web app that was handled by reverse proxy. The issue maybe related to RP configuration. Please refer to one of the following links to check if the RP configuration are correct.

Call ended - invalid phone number

Skype keeps telling me I am entering an invalid phone number. I have tried several time without success. I have credit in my account that I cannot use. I am talking of a landline in Chile here not even a cell phone.
The message "call ended - invalid phone number" appears every time I try to call a number that I have called regularly for the past year. Don't know why it stopped working or how to remedy it. I have tried dialing from my contacts list as well as dialing directly.
Sometimes (not always) other numbers in the same city seem to work making it a selective issue.
I can't figure out what's wrong.
This matter has been popping up since last year and no one in the bloody company of Skype has been able to supply a proper response in the community area or at least an instruction to fix it for ever more.
If any of these seems familiar to you it's because I cut and paste messages of different people having the same problem although with no solution at hand

I am having the same issue. I have checked for updates, but it says I have the most up-to-date version, I have checked my subscription, no problems there, I even have almost $15 in credit in addition to an unlimited monthly subscription. I think the problem started when Microsoft started messing with Skype. I am going to be asking for a refund on my credit and the past several months of my subscription if this issue can't be resolved. It won't work from either of my laptops, PS3, iPhone or iPad... Thier billing still seems to be working though, they charge me every month even though I can't use the service. I have sent messages to thier support as well but have not heard a word back. Any suggestions? Have already uninstalled and re-installed a few times...

USB headset drops audio input during Skype call

I just bought a new iMac. When I initiate a Skype call using the H650e, almost immediately after the call connects the H650e loses audio input. I speak into the mic but the person I'm speaking with can't hear me. When I open the audio preference pane, I see that the H650e is selected as the input device, but the levels are not registering when I speak.
This problem is reproducible; it happens every time I use the microphone with Skype on the iMac. However, it does not happen when I use it with Skype on my Macbook Air.
That suggests the problem might be with the iMac, but Apple is claiming they can't help because it's a non-Apple product. Logitech claims they can't help since the headset works with the Macbook Air. And Skype claims the same.
What now?

fyi ....
i ran a quick repair permissions with disk utility and the problem seems to have sorted itself out. on further thought i think this started to happen after i downloaded the latest s/w update from apple - i recall a whole bundle of fixes to various powerpc issues...maybe something here upset the balance.
