Issue with action 'Place' in CS3

I have been having an issue with an action I made. The action is:
{Set Background
Set Layer Styles of current layer
Image Size
Canvas Size
Place
Move Current layer
Save}
My issue is when it come to 'place' if the image is larger than the window it will center to the window not the canvas.
The details of 'Place' are:
filename.jgp
Center: center
Translate: 0 inches, 0 inches
I was wondering if there was anything in the action I should have added.
Also, could someone explain why it does this?

It was already checked so I unchecked>applied. Tested it. It didn't properly scale the placed image
Went in checked it. Tested it. It worked like a charm.
Restarted PS with it still checked, tested the action and I had the orginal issue.
Checked my preferences and it was still checked.
Unchecked>applied.
Checked>applied -worked fine.
I'm assuming this is an error in the program that it is not properly reading the preferences. Any ideas?

Since I have installed Leopard I am having colour management issues with Photoshop CS3 and my Canon i9950 printer.
My screen is calibrated with a Spyder and I used to ask Photoshop (in 10.4.11) to manage colour when printing and used the Spyder profile. Everything came out as I saw it on screen.
Now in leopard when I do the same thing everything comes out too yellow on the print. If I ask Photoshop to let the printer manage the colour it is too red. If I use the default colour management (photoshop managing the colour and it choosing the colour space it is better, but still too yellow).
Photoshop gives the hint to turn off colour management in the printer but there is no option for this and it also said the same thing before of course (when it worked in 10.4.11).
Any ideas?

You need to use the correct printer profile for the paper you're using. If the printer didn't come with any pre-built profiles, check Canon's web site to see if they have any profiles available for your printer that you can download.
Printer profiles are very specific. You can't take take a profile for glossy Epson paper and expect it to work very well for Canon glossy paper.

I'm having exactly the same problem, only my printer is a Canon Pixma iX4000. The colour is all bleached out, it looks exactly like when you've accidentally printed an RGB file on a CMYK printer, and at first I thought that was what I had done, but it isn't. This is very frustrating, I've spent all day going through the manuals, recalibrating etc, but no luck. This is a brand new Mac Pro and printer, but if its not going to print what I see on screen it's just expensive junk.
I wasn't sure if the problem was Leopard or the printer or CS3...

Issue with Action pane sap bpc 7.5 MS

Got a issue , when clicking the dimension to select members in action pane it shows blank box .
Is there any XLS setting that needs to be in place OR any other thing needs to be fixed??
It happens only with one id.

Hi Venkat,
if your sp is 3 or lower then this is an old issue and you have to upgrade to sp4 or higher, if it occurs on web see please this note 1746878 - BPC MS: Action Pane Disappears from BPC Web Interface otherwise plese add you sp version.

Issue with Action Links

We have implemented the Action Links.
Issue: A particular order number is present in 14 different organizations.
when the order number and the Org Name is selected we are able to all the records.
We have included the Action Link column to the above request, then we are only able to see 3 records, the other organization records are not able to view.

By executing these 2 generated queries we are able to see all the headers ids for a particular order same in both the queries.
But even then the results are not shown in the Answers.
Can any one have an idea how to fix it.

When we created a request in the answers using the above opaque view, it is taking lot of time around 12 min.
when i executed the query returned from session log in the database it took less than a second.
not sure what causing the performance issue.

Issue with font list in CS3

When cycling through fonts, there is a glitch that is rather annoying. There is a certain section of fonts that occur between the fonts that begin with a number, and the fonts that have more than 1 a in the beginning of the name.
For instance...
After A Charming Font family, it skips to Adlib then straight to Baskerville and probably about 50 or so fonts that are not placed properly in alphabetical order.
The problem occurs when I am cycling and come to Arial, amongst other fonts, that are in the list that aren't organized properly. So if I am cycling through the F's and come to Futura BT, it brings me back to that list of misplaced fonts which starts me at the beginning of the A's again.
This makes using the arrow keys and scrolling the list of fonts very frustrating.
I am running CS3 on Windows XP. I work at an art department and we synched our font collection a few months back, but I can't seem to find the problem.
Another problem occurs with certain fonts that are in the font folder twice... Diskus is one of them.

I undoubtedly have some shaky fonts. I have some font programs and wonder how to identify what fonts are "bad". What should I look for? It is lousy that we have to do this - a font should either be usable, or rejected by cs3.
In a different forum I was advised to turn off font previews. This worked, but is lame. I now disable previews dependent on the project (i.e. if it requires a lot of text). At least I am able to highlight a section of text, then scroll through the font list (which automatically changes the text to each font).
One other possibility is a bug with logitech setpoint drivers. I have noticed that my MX mouse has some effect upon the text scrolling problem. The mouse is capable of being set to "click to click" or "fly wheel". I am able to go through MORE fonts when the fly wheel is disabled (although the fonts DO eventually zoom back up to the top). Perhaps CS3 can't keep up with a mouse that scrolls quickly. Regardless, the problem remains.
Hopefully someone will figure this out. After multiple inquiries by dozens of people over the years, Adobe will not address the issue. Worst of all, CS4 users are already reporting the same problem!

Hello, I am using Easyrotator for a slideshow in Dreamweaver. I am under the gun as I just had a death in the family, so I had to take a lot of time off. The slideshow works fine, but not together in Dreamweaver CS.5. I want to insert it underneath my title which is the name and photo of the company, but above the rest of the pages content. I have tried several frustrating attempts and to no avail. I am a designer and have really no experience with coding. I can put up what I have if that makes it easier. Thank you so much!

We need to see ALL your code to solve your issue quickly and accurately without a lot of guessing and questions back-and-forth.
Just rename a copy of your problem page (such as "test.html") and upload it to your server, in whatever folder the original page was located, and simply post a link in the Forum and tell us your problem.
This saves you having to cut and paste miles of code into the Forum for the page and all the dependent CSS, JS etc. files.and saves us from having to recreate all your files, find your images and then repair your code and test the solution for you.

Issues with Action Wizart to remove security

Hi,
I am using action wizard in Adobe11 to remove security from group of files, but it asks for password for every file and also prompts to save the file for each file. In earlier versions I used to do this with batch processing and it used to ask the password only for the first file and assumed same password for remaining, this is not happening in Adobe 11. Any help of this is highly appriciated.

Any known compatibility issues with snow leopard and cs3 creative suite

have leopard and want to upgrade to snow leopard..but am worried about any conflicts with photoshop cs3 and fireworks cs3? Does anyone use this version and have problems?

I couldn't see any mention of a CS3 version of Fireworks.
Anecdotal information is variable; some seem to have no problems, others found CS3 unusable, so it's difficult to be categorical for you. Certainly Adobe only consider CS4 and above to be fully compatible.

Anybody else have an issue with actions disappearing and having to reinstall ALL of them?

Every few weeks, my actions disappear from Photoshop and I have to reinstall ALL of them? Anybody else have this issue?

I have occasionally lost data connectivity when I leave my house and have to flip airplane mode on then off to restore it. Otherwise I'm not near large crowds to see if I have any connectivity issues.
Do you know if you have the Portico update? Go to Settings > About and tap on more info. See what the OS version is. Portico is 8.0.10211.204.
Just want to see if its a build issue and may be non-Portico devices are having reception problems when it come to crowd density....

Security issues with action commands....

I have a webapplication that under its context has two diffenent
maps, one is admin and the other one is user.
I use an ActionRouter and has actions like list-clients.do.
The admin map is restricted area described in web.xml.
You have to be in AdminRole to get access.
My problem is that if I log in as user, I can "shoot" actions commands
like list-clients.do from the user area and Servlet maps to the proper
jsp that is in the admin map. When I then try isUserInRole and so on
there is only a quetstionmark. If I run from admin area the isUserInRole
knows who is logged in.
I put in the list-clients.do in the url like: http://myplace.com/users/list-clients.do and servlet reply with jsp from
admin area.
Anybody know why not the restricted area declared in the web.xml file
works during that condition, and how to solve this?

Issues with Importing 'AVIs' into CS3

I have CS3 and am trying to import AVIs, but am getting no audio or no video, however it seems to be a bit unpredictable. On one computer one file will play with both on the other I get either audio or video but not both.
Have done a lot of reading tonight and can see that I need to be using DV AVI Type II, problem is I have been trying to do that! I have been using Format Factory and have had no luck both with the AVIs and the MPEG files that I have converted. So obviously it is not converting into a usable format.
Can anyone suggest a program that will convert to DV AVI Type II. I have looked at the list on Videohelp but none of them specify that they convert to DV AVI Type II.
I understand that I may loose quality, but am editing videos to go in school seminars and so need to use clips that are relevant and interesting for the students. And given that I have just purchased CS3 I would like to work out how to make it work!!
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

To my *knowledge* it only uses the installed system CODECs. Only tip to this was when I added Lagarith, HuffYuv and Black Magic CODECs to the system, they suddenly were available in DMC. Now, this does not prove that it only works with system CODECs (it might have some of its own), but these three were not available, until I installed them.
Over the years, it's proved to be a good program. Yes, it does choke on occasion, but usually very stable, simple and I've yet to have a converted file (unless there was gross OE) not work in the intended app.
So far, 99% of my work with it has been going to DV-AVI's. It has been virtually flawless, even with some odd CODECs in the original files.
I have only tried a handful of others, but have not seen any that I'd rather have to replace DMC.

Facing issue with Action Menu

Hi all,
I've created an Action Menu to open a link on a new page, however it is not working. I changed the URL to call some external website (Ex. www.google.com) but even so it doesn't do anything. Is there any setup that can prevent links from Action Menu (Table component) to be executed? Is there any bug related to this? I've tried the same on a different page, enabling exactly the same URL and on the other page, it works.
I'd appreciate any help or comment.

Hi Dan,
I solved the issue by including a "GROUP BY" statement in my EQL Query. This really seems to be a bug since my query doesn't need a Group By. I set the Group By for the record ID and I'm testing whether it caused any side effect.

Speed issue with Action Listener

I have a JCombobox that has an action listener that waits for an action to be performed.
When I update the Combobox list by using removeAllItems() and then loop additem on an array to rebuild it, It take 14 seconds to rebuild the list.
When I remove my action listener, it does it instantly. I tried setEnable(false) on my combobox to disable the action listener temporarily while I update the combobox, but it doesn't appear to work.
Looking for a way to disable my listener temporarily to increase performance when I update it.

Issue with Action in Transaction

I have Created new action and assigned it to lead., this action is to create work flow ( WS10001011 ) for opportunities from lead if the user status is equal to "Accepted by sales". But when ever lead status is changing to "Accepted by sales". We have observed that no action is being performed and when i clicked on action push button in pop-up i am getting this message "There are no actions in the worklist"
Can you please assist what need to be modified.

SAP supplies standard workflow from Lead to Opportunity which does not use actions.
It uses events which are triggered based on user status.
You might like to do it that way and see if it works.
