Hi,
I am facing below issue while running the authorization sync job in 10.1 after importing the configuration data as part of migration from 5.3 to 10.1.
we have GRC server and plugin system on the same SP level 04.
Error:
Error in GRCAC101EC; Reason Error in RFC; 'Function module "/GRCPI/GRIA_AUTH_G
PFCG authorization sync failed with errors
Thr RFC connection is working fine and the connector settings are done in GRC. Also the RFC user has SAP_ALL.

Issue with authorizations for BPS

Hi Experts,
There was an issue with authorizations for BPS. We have a large number of agents that need to enter plan data via a layout. In order to control the necessary authorizations, we would like to filter via something similar to a user exit using a function module in order to avoid having to define authorization objects for each of the agents who have access to the systems. Right now, we are not sure if there is user exit concept available as it is for BW variables. Any body experienced similar issue may share their experience.

Hi,
In BPS, you can use user specific variables or you can set up a Variable of type exit. You can also have a variable of type authorization which uses the security / authorization of the BW system.

Issue with Ipad Syncing with Exchange

We have 6 folks using Ipads regularly to access our corporate exchange server. Up to now things have been fairly stable.
That said starting this week our President has been having significants issues with the syncing process. The process seems to be hanging (however it may be jsut retrying over and over). This is resulting in some emails getting sent multiple times. It also appears that the syncing of Calendar events is sporadic.
No updates ahve been applied to the Exchange server.
He is a pretty heavy user of the Ipad and email and recieves alot of attachments some that are large 5-10mb. I see some chatter about these types of issues but no real solutions.
Is anyone else seeing this type of activity? If so any thoughts on how to improve the issue.

I connected my IPAD for sync with Itunes on my laptop, DELL 6500 running Windows Vista.
Itunes prompted me to download new OS version 3.2.x It then went to restart my IPAD- and then boom !! .. windows said it couldnt find my ipad driver. I went to apple support site and followed their instructions and still windows cant find the driver. Hence my IPAD is not stuck showing the connect to ITUNES screen .. cant use it and cant get update.
Any one has any ideas what happened ?

I have a similar error for which I have put up a separate post, your input would be highly valuable.
My RFC connection works via the test in SM59 but when executing GRAC_AUTH_SYNC I get a simiar error to your above.
Please let me know what steps you took.

Duplication Issues with Photo Sync via iTunes/iPhoto and Photo Stream/iCloud (Detailed Scenario Given)

Hi Everyone,
I'd like to share an issue I am having with photo syncing between my iDevices.
Here is how I USED to sync my Photos between my iDevices (no issues with photo duplication)
Note: In this scenario, I use iTunes and iPhoto on my Mac. iCloud and Photo stream have NOT been activated in this case.
1. Take photos via iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
2. After a month or so, I will connect my iPhone to my Mac.
3. Import my Photos in iPhoto and arrange Events and Photos in monthly sections and add some of them in a separate Albums (ex. Written Notes Photos) for easy access.
4. Once the import is done, iPhoto prompts an option to delete photos in my Camera Roll which I do as I like to start a fresh month with empty Camera Roll in my iPhone.
5. In order to access the Photos I have imported in iPhoto in my iPhone, I go to iTunes and sync all my photos to my iPhone. This syncs my events, photos, faces, albums as they have been arranged in iPhoto in my Mac. (I cant delete them in my iPhone once they are synced. I have to delete in my iPhoto and sync again to have similar setup in my iPhone which isn't a problem).
NOW I decided I don't want to manually go through all this process and went on to enable the Photo Stream ON in my iPhone and iPhoto with iCloud.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM ENSUES.
1. I Take photos with my iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
2. This automatically syncs with my Mac due to Photo Stream which a really convenient.
3. It syncs automatically to Photo Stream, Events, Photos, Faces section in the iPhoto and I put put some of them (notes) in a separate album.
THE PROBLEM:
The Photos does not show up in the Album, Events and Photos Folder in my iPhone. They are only shown in Camera Roll. So I thought to sync using iTunes so the new Photos will be arranged in their appropriate folder like it used to with my prior process of syncing. This worked, HOWEVER the photos in my iPhone started showing DUPLICATES! Apparently, one comes from Photo Stream (which, if I delete on my phone also deletes in all my iDevices) and the other duplicate is from the iTunes sync (this sets up my photos as arranged in iPhoto which is what i WANT to happen as Photo Stream does not sync them accordingly).
SOLUTION I AM IN SEARCH FOR:
I want to be able to take photos with my iPhone that automatically syncs in iCloud AND iPHOTO AS ARRANGED IN MY MAC (Albums, Events etc) WITHOUT PROBLEM OF PHOTO DUPLICATES.

Other folks have resolved similar issues by trashing the iPod Photo Cache.

Issue with Photo Sync

Hi all, I have a big problem with the sync of images and photos from PC to iPod Touch 4G with iOS 4.3.3 using iTunes (lastest version).
Every time i try to sync a folder, iTunes do the optimization, but when it goes to sync them to the iPod, it only sync for example only 1 photo out 20. The message that appear is exactly this one: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1306?viewlocale=en_US
But i tried 100 times and I still haven't been lucky.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4. just bought it yesterday and plugged into itunes and got the same error. this is a brand new phone and just updated to latest firmware in itunes.
I am running 4.2.1 and 10.2.1 on the iphone and itunes.
4.3 is out for the iphone 4 but I cannot even sync the update with out the error saying the drive cannot be read or written to.

Issue with email sync

I have configured 5 gmail accounts, 3 yahoo accounts and 1 live account. Everything was working fine until a day came that I was forced to change the password of all my G accounts. I changed it in my phone also but since then I cant sync just 1 gmail account. Not that I cant sync but its not loading the mails in the viewer. Email app works fine with other accounts. I tried deleting all the account and re-created all the accounts still its not working. I tried deleting it from email.nokia.com and STILL its not working. a 3 months ago I had the same issue with another G account. What I did then was I stopped using the Email app. I sstarted using it only a 3 weeks ago as I really needed a client on my phone. Wish someone could help me out from this really awkward situation

Is there an issue with iCloud syncing on iWork apps?

I thought everything was ok with iCloud syncing but I seem to now have issues.
I created a spreadsheet under Pages on my iPad (3rd Gen) and, after pressing the 'spreadsheet' button to show thumbnails of all docs being worked on, I'm seeing a small arrow pointing upwards on the thumbnail. Before, I used to see a progress bar updating in the thumbnail (which I presume is updating to iCloud).
Now? Nothing. The arrow stays and nothing is updated on my iPhone 4. In fact, a previous version of my spreadsheet is shown on my iPhone with the same upwards pointing arrow but with the whole thumbnail 'greyed out'. I can't even open it on the iPhone to delete it!
Is this a know issue and are there any fixes? I've tried the usual turning iCloud off and on for both devices but this has not had any effect.

I have now established that there are issues with Pages, Numbers and Keynote documents!!! They surely cannot all be corrupted?
I have managed to salvage an important Numbers Document which I have copied in to iTunes (and subsequently on to my external HD).
To try and rectify the situation I have then turned off iCloud on all 3 apps on both my iPhone 4 and iPad and deleted all documents under each app. I have then gone on to iWork under iCloud and deleted all documents off there (some of which I noted were not the up-to-date documents I had been working on in iOS). I had to turn off iCloud regardless to delete a couple of the documents on my iPhone (under all 3 apps) as some documents were greyed out (see original post) and could not be deleted. As soon as iCloud was disabled it enabled me to remove off the local device.
Having switched iCloud back on to my iPhone and iPad (and bearing in mind I had deleted all documents off both iOS devices and in iCloud) the greyed out thumbnails re-appear (and cannot be deleted or altered!!!!)
Anybody? Aaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Issue with Ford Sync (Microsoft Sync) & iPhone 4--Playing Music via USB

I have a 2011 Ford Flex and and iPhone 4. The Sync system will not play music via the USB connection. It is quite temperamental with the bluetooth as well. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well I have a 2010 Fusion with Sync and an iPhone 4. Have had various issues getting things to work right all the time. I'm not sure if Sync in the 2011's is much different.
When you say it doesn't play music, what does it do when you give it the USB command? Does the iPhone charge when plugged into the USB port? If the phone charges and it seems to let you select USB but doesn't play any music, on your iPhone, go to iPod and you may see an accessory connected screen. Touch the icon next to SYNC and you will see SYNC and doc connector listed. Touch doc connector and see if the music is heard.
If you haven't already register at www.syncmyride.com you will find some community forums there with hints/steps on getting Sync and iPhone to work properly.
Generally though, there have been a lot of issues with SYNC and Apple devices.

Issues with icloud syncing

Hello, I have issues with my iphone 4s under ios 7.1.2. I have always set the settings to automatically sync all my setup to icloud. However, from time to time, my iphone suddenly loses all my contacts even though icloud is still activated. I have faced this unstability several times in the past 3 months. I haven't found an automatic way to retrieve them but it seems that deactivating icloud, restarting the iphone and reactivating icloud is working.
However, is there another way to fix this issue for good? It indeed becomes very troublesome.

First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing.

Issues with simple cron job to query database

This is really a mix, of both a database issue and a Linux issue, so I thought I'd post it here to get the most visibility. I have been looking into this, and also had a couple other DBA's at my company help, and we are not able to figure it out, so I thought I'd post it here. Basically, I have a simple shell script that is just doing a sqlplus connection to the database and querying V$INSTANCE. When I run the script from the command line, it runs fine, but for the life of me, I can't get it to run from the crontab.
I'm running Oracle 10.1.0.3.0 on a RedHat ES Linux release 3 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 5) server. This is all local on the server - the database is on this server, and this is also where I'm running the script.
I've made the script as simple as possible, like this:

When I run this script from the command line, it is running fine. But then I put it in a crontab entry like this:

At first glance, it seems like a simple issue with environment variables not being set properly, but I have tested this to exhaustion. I've put in all of the environment variables into the shell script to duplicate what I have on the command line, but it still won't work. I've checked on just about anything else I could think of - looked at the tnsnames and listener config, looked at the profile from the crontab in /etc/profile, nothing works...
And on any other server that I test this on, it all works fine and as expected. So I'm trying to figure out why I'm only having this issue on this one particular server?? Some kind of server config or setting that could be causing it?

I've even gone to the extreme, of taking every single environment variable from my command line environment, and putting all of them into the shell script. but still no luck... I've also contacted my Linux SysAdmins, to see if they have any thoughts/input on this.

PFCG authorization sync job has been running for over a day?

We have installed GRC10 with NWBC and are attempting to run the initial PFCG authorization synchrozniation using transaction GRAC_AUTH_SYNC. It was set to run first followed by the Repository object sync for users, profiles and roles however the initial PFCG authorization synchrozniation is still running over a day later.
There has been no error yet but wanted to check with everyone how long it should take, if there are any known errors and if the process followed in the SAP GUIDE below is correct.
Synchronize PFCG Authorization Data
1. Execute transaction GRAC_AUTH_SYNC.
2. Select a variant (optional) and click Execute.
3. Enter the system connector ID to execute the User Master Data synchronization.
4. Enter the connector language.

Time for running this job depends upon the selected varian/systems and data (SAP Auths/Fields) present in the backend system

Droid Razr Maxx/Issues with Exchange Sync and Texting

I have a Droid Razr Maxx. Since the KitKat update to 4.4 in May 2014, my Exchange email account will not sync. My Comcast account does. If I power cycle the phone, it will sync the Exchange account for a short time until I receive the following error message: 'couldn't open connection to server due to sec..." When I touch the error message, it just goes away. If there is more of the error message, I'm unable to see it. I have removed the Exchange account and added it back in three times. My IT department indicates they have not made any changes to the security levels, but have fielded several questions from other Android users with the KitKat update. My text messaging service also stopped. I've been reviewing all forums and tried different things, but to no avail. I went to the Verizon store, who just said that there have been 'lots' of complaints about KitKat and that I should buy a different phone. This $200+ phone is only 7 months old. Please help!!

After deleting and adding my Corporate account, visiting the local Verizon store several times, visiting my IT department, and now wiping the phone and re installing all software, the Corporate email still only syncs when I power cycle the phone. We are a BYOD company which means every other phone works with the Exchange account. My phone also worked up until the KitKat update in May 2014. The only recommendation I have received from Verizon is to replace my 8 month old Motorola Razr Maxx with a entirely different phone at full price. The tech I spoke with at Verizon made the statement that she has avoided updating to KitKat given all the customer issues she has had to deal with.
I'm in a technology field and understand when glitches occur, but also expect functionality issues to be addressed. I've been with both Verizon and Motorola for a long time, but very doubtful I will continue this relationship when contract time is up for renewal. I'm carrying my iPad around to get the Corporate emails and the Razr Maxx has been relegated to just being a very expensive phone.

Issue with authorization objects

Hi,
We are running on ECC 6 . There is an issue while adding t-codes to a role.
When we add a transaction code in the Menu tab, for eg, a Z transaction code, it throws up a whole lot of open authorization objects under the authorization tab (open authorizations under FI, MM, so on). The open values proposed are all the default values in SU24. This happens even if we use the 'Read old status and merge with the new'. Our check indicator maintenance for all t-codes seem to be fine. Pls advise.

They are populated again if they were deleted during the earlier maintenance or are in a changed status of the original authorization where new values in SU24 are proposing something different.
That is why you should never delete standard or maintained authorizations and try to avoid the copy & change strategy by maintaining SU24 to meet your needs.
It shounds like SU24 is not as "fine" as you have stated before hand.

Issue with blackberry sync and contact lists

Hello!
To the bone: I'm having trouble synchronizating my contacts between my blackberry and microsoft oulook 10. The thing is that my contacts are in different lists in my blackberry and when I try to sync them with outlook (BB to outlook) it only synchronizes one list of contacts.
Any suggestions?
