Issue with cell styles in Smart View 11.1.2.1

Hi,
I've got a strange issue in Smartview 11.1.2.1 : when I open a data form (Hyperion Planning connection), my data form does not have colors. All the entire sheet is in Black&White, so I can not see Locked/Read-Only/Writable (...) cells !
When I go to Options => Cell Styles, I do not see all the color-coding that is normally purposed by default with Hyperion Planning connection.
Something strange : when I connect to Smartview on other computer, it works ! For information, we use Citrix to connect to Smartview.
Do you have an idea ?

I have played around and found the following
1. if you untick 'Use Excel Formatting' in the Formatting tab - cell styles work
2. If you tick Use Excel Formatting- cell styles have no effect
You cannot use Cell Styels and use excel formatting together - either the one or the other
By ticking 'Retain Numeric Formatting' under Formatting combined with Cell Styles is a workable option

Bug in formatting Tables with cel styles + toolbox

We continue to have major problems with the cel styles. Lines disappear due to adjacent cells.
Let me ellaborate:
I have a cel style that has no background and only a .5 line at the bottom.
Underneith I have a cel style that has NO lines. What happens is that when I link that style, the line from the cel above disappears. Then I reselect the top cel and link the correct style again, the line appears.
This is obviously a totally unworkable situation.
What helps 80% of the time, is to go in the options menu for the style. Then give all lines 1pt, black and a style. And then, in exactly this order, delete the linethickness, set the color to ignore and then set the style to ignore (ignore is a translation from Dutch, I do not know the exact term used in the US version). After this I save the style and usually it works.
This bug has been a part of InDesign since the introduction of celstyles.
And while I am ranting, another thing that has been irritating us since the early days. Quite often multiple styles in the panels seem selected. This happens in all panes (paragraph, type, cell and table styles)
It seems to us that Adobe is only paying attention to adding new features, instead of fixing well known bugs.
Does anyone have a solution to my issues?

My original post wasn't too clear (sorry). The bug is with TR.
The following code should write the numbers 1 to 10 with four spaces separating each value. But no spaces are written.

Issue with complete refresh on materialized view when using rownum

Hi all,
I had an issue with rownum when using complete refresh
I am using rownum when creating materialized view and it is generation correctly.But the issue was when i am refreshing the same ,rownum was not getting sorted in ascending order.
anyone had come across this scenario

rownum is determined as the row is output, so "order by rownum" does literally nothing.

Mission Control/ Expose issue with stacked pages hard to view. Please help

Is it just me or is there a real issue with the way Mission Control/ Expose displays these stacked windows? For instance, I had about 6 finder windows open, showing 6 different folders on my Desktop. If I then use Mission Control to quickly access a particular folder, it displays all my finder windows together, stacked up on one another and this makes it almost impossible to view which particular folder i want. It doesnt have the folder names displayed so this is seriuosly time consuming now. Is this something im doing wrong, or is it a valid issue?

If you are just trying to see all the Finder windows which are available, just invoke App expose. I use a 4 finger swipe down. If you are in finder, just swipe. If you are in another application, hover your mouse over the Finder icon in the dock and swipe. All the windows are easy to see.
(You can, of course, do this with any application, not just the Finder.)

Performance Issue with Crosstab Reports Using Disco Viewer 10.1.2.48.18

We're experiencing Performance Issue (retrieving 40000 rows) with Crosstab Reports Using Disco Viewer 10.1.2.48.18 ( > 01 Minute , executing "Building Page Axis" or executing a Refresh).
Are there parameters to tun (in pref.txt file) , in order to reduce "Building Page Axis" execution ?
Note : We've got the same performance problem , using Discoverer Desktop 10.1.2.48.18.

Well if the same issue occurs in both Desktop and Viewer then you have your answer. It's not the way that Discoverer is running the workbook its the way the workbook has been constructed.
For a start, 40000 rows for a Crosstab is way over the top and WILL cause performance issues. This is because Discoverer has to create a bucket for every data point for every combination of items on the page, side and top axes. The more rows, page items and column headings that you have, the more buckets you have and therefore the longer it will take for Discoverer to work out the contents of every bucket.
Also, whenever you use page items or crosstabs, Discoverer has to retrieve all of the rows for the entire query, not just the first x rows as with a table. This is because it cannot possibly know how many buckets to create until it has all the rows.
You therefore to:
a) apply sufficient filters to reduce the amount of data being returned to something manageable
b) reduce the number of page items, if used
c) reduce the number of items on the side or top axis of a crosstab
d) reduce the number of complex calculations, especially calculations that would generate a new bucket
If you have a lot of complex calculations, you should consider the use of a materialized view / summary folder to pre-calculate the values.

Graphic Styles - issue with creates style expanding to background when used

I have created a background style to use as a wire frame, and having created it, every time I use it the frame expands to the back ground size?

Thank you Peter and Amebr for your assistance. I ended up using RH Multilevel List Style, configured, and created an identical List Style in Word. I created a Single and a Multilevel (e.g., Level = bullet, Level 2 = squares); their challenge is matching RH indents with Word Indents... It's sort of a bear since RH does not have the Format Paragraph option (ref. drop-down) like Word Lists - Numbering functionality.
After generating my print document mu Bullet style reads "Normal (Web)"; even though the RH CSS Wizard recognized Word List Style I created (Ref. Font: Symbol, Font color: Black, Indent: Left: 0.15", Hanging: 0.25", Outline numbered + Level: 1 +, Numbering Style: Bullet + Aligned at: 0.15" + Indent at: 0.4", Priority: 100, Based on: No List.
Question: Would anyone out there know why is when I highlight my bullet list to verify the correct Style (with the Styles pane open) and I see the "Normal (Web)" [its Style type = Paragraph and Style based on = Normal) is selected? If it came through (from Rh) as a true Multilevel List Style, I should not see anything.

Issue with creation of a materialized view

Issue with document library and explorer view

Hello,
I have couple of issues on which I need some assistance.
We recently backup and restore the SharePoint portal based on 2007 to SharePoint 2010 server.We're facing some issues on it now
When we try to open any office document from a document library it gives a prompt stating below message in image. I check the document, it is nowhere checked out and also I have full control on the site , in fact I am site collection admin.
Open with explorer view is not working. When we click on open with explorer it just refreshes the page and show the same page again.
Need help on this couple of issues.

Issue with EU style of numbers

Hi,
My client is in US having some company codes in Europe. Client has upgraded the system to Unicode. Since the unicode change, we are facing few issues related to european company codes.
I can see * in the amount figure for payment run for Eurpoean countries (eg. Twelve thousand should be 12 000 in eurpean style, with no commas and no decimals, but it is appearing 12*000) in the payment summary for payment run.
I think so, it should be related with unicode. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I am also getting the following error message in Print job log issue:
Following entries are missing for converting payments into words
SV 0 0
Therefore the amounts in words are partly missing on the payment media
Please let me know, what steps should I take to fix the issue.

It took a while to replicate the issue, but I couldn't replicate the problem via the Structure Pane at all, I had to accidentally miss something inside the Story Editor (which I never use for XML per se). so I may not be understanding the problem you are experiencing correctly.
I added a couple sub-categories so I had more to play with. And I numbered them 1-4. I have the second sub-category selected in the Structure Pane.
And this is following pressing the delete key:

Issue with Crystal 11 and Activex Viewer

Hi All,
We have been using Crystal Enterprise 10 for long without any issues, Recently we had to move to Crystal 11 as our clients are not able to buy Crystal 10 any more.
The crystal Report is run from our product using the activex viewer .The Report is invoked by passing
the url in the following manner
'/CSM/reports/Crystal//Case%20Solution%20Time.rpt?init=actx&USER0=sa&PASSWORD0='
This worked perfectly with Crystal 10.
But when trying to run the report with Crystal 11 it opens a file download box and then opens up the report in design time in Crystal Reports itself and not in the browser.
I am not sure if this is a know problem or if things have changed (parameters etc.). I need to get this problem sorted asap. Any info on it is highly appreciated.

Help with issues with cell phone when on Wifi in iOS7

Since I updated to iOS7 on my iPhone 5 (bought in Jan 2013), I'm frequently experiencing dropped calls. I have great wifi signal stregth and this is happening in multiple wifi networks so it's not the network itself. Also, those on the other end complain that my voice breaks up and they can't hear all that I'm saying.
If I switch over to the cellular network, I get much better quality, even if there are few 'bars/dots' of signal strenght in 3G. When I used the same phone on iOS6 on many of the same wifi networks, I didn't encounter these issues.
Has anyone else experienced similar performance issues? Anyone have any suggestions/ideas on how to troubleshoot and/or resolve?

Thanks. I learned something new. I didn't realize the cell calls weren't able to use Wifi unless through an app (e.g. Skype, etc.). So, I guess what's happening is that if I have Wifi enabled and make a cell call, it (somehow) affects the call quality. I can be in the same position in the house/building and my audio will break up for the folks on the other end of the call. If I turn Wifi off, it improves immediately and the problem goes away.
So maybe there's something up with both of thos things going at the same time. Now that I know, I can likely work around the problem. Thank you for educating me.

Having issues with google style

So something happened to the style of google, and it's driving me a little nuts. It changed from this view.
To this view:
Is there someone that can please help me to reset the style. It's happening in all search engines, across both firefox and safari. I appreciate the help, and thank you for your time.

I figured out my problem. It was my password change. I had to log out of Google Maps and sign in again with my new password. I also had to stop the app and restart it to get the map data to display.

Issues with time machine software to view tm backups

this is both a question and comment on this issue.
I started to noticed that on entering 'time machine' on my imac all the 'backed up' folder screens that are stacked up behind each other had a black screen instead of the 'finder desktop window'. Worse still this problem was intermittant - sometimes I could view backed up data.
I use a late 2013 IMAC (latest update of OSX) connected wirelessly to a 6 month old 2gb time capsule (TC).
I spoke to Apple (April 2014) and they are unaware of any similar problems
The guy who was trying to help suggested it was a wireless interference problem and I agreed to try a number of things before just deleting the backup and starting all over again (not for the first time). I note that 6 months ago I replaced a WD NAS as I was having repeated problems using it with TM.
Digging around a little more what seems clear to me is that the issue maybe with how TM communicates with the TC, rather than any wireless interference.
If I open finder and select TC > data > 'computer name' sparse bundle.
Clicking on the sparse bundle file loads the 'time machine' server in the DEVICES list.
From there you will see all the backups taken since day1 - date/time folder name.
Selecting one of these reveals the actual folders from your computer that were backed up and clicking through the folders you can open any file that was backed up.
The point is here; using finder over the same wireless network I can view any file that TM has backed up to the TC, however at the same time (having ejected the time machine device) I am unable to view the same files through the TM software as the stacked windows are all black.
I have to assume that TM is using a different method to access the TC commpared to finder, otherwise I would have the same issues in finder.

Incredible Issue with length of time to view mms

I need to know if this is a setting that can be changed ? if this is just how the phones is? or if its a defect?
When I open a picture message I am only able to view for 5 seconds then the picture goes back to all message screen? I have to continue to click it open. I have checked all settings I can think off I even did a factory reset. Does anyone else have this issue? Or now the solution?

Ok yea I figured that out to but you have the same issue to, I still would like to know if all Incredibles do that or if maybe its just a setting we missed.

Safari issue with cascading style sheets

I've been using the beta version of Safari 4.0 for weeks with no problems. Now the final version seems to have totally messed up what appears to be cascading style sheets on my blog. My blog looks perfectly fine on other browsers as well as on the old beta version I have on my tower so I know it is not me. Has anyone else noticed this?
