Issue with $FLEX$ and populating dates.
Hello,
I'm creating a custom report for a HR report. I have a requirement to enter a report type, if that report type <> 'DATE' then the parameters to enter dates are to be disabled. I when through the following steps.
Steps:
1. Define controlling parameter, XXRPT_TYPE
2. Define parameter - P_HIDDEN_PARAM. As it's name suggests, this is a hidden parameter, which will not be visible when we submit the conc. program.
Set it's Default Type as "SQL Statement " and
Default value as - "select decode(:$FLEX$.XXRPT_TYPE,'DATE','Y',null) from dual".
3.Define custom valueset, which will used for the date parameters - " Date From" and "Date To".
a) Click on Edit Information and enter forllowing query in Table Name field.
(SELECT (TO_DATE (SYSDATE - 200 + LEVEL, 'DD-MON-RRRR')) date_range FROM DUAL CONNECT BY LEVEL <= 1000)temp_tab
I am using "CONNECT BY LEVEL" concept to produce dates with the range of 1000 days.
You can modify 1000 to any other figure as per your requirement.
b) Set Value Name as date_range, which is nothing but the alias name in the query above.
c) I Entered following WHERE clause in Where/Order By field.
WHERE :$FLEX$.AMS_SRS_CHAR50='DATE RANGE'
When I run the concurrent program, the date field will disable if the report type will is on something other than Date Range, however when the report type is date range, I get an error (No Entries found for List of Values) If I comment the where clause then the date are displayed, but the disabling doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas for me?
not sure what do you want but

Uk date format issue with ASP and Access Database
I have an Asp form which updates records in an Access
database. Problem is
that the date format in the database record is dd/mm/yyyy
(UK), when
the record is displayed on the form it is mm/dd/yyyy(US)
which after I
update the record in the database the date has changed to the
new format.
I have tried everything I can to change the format but to no
avail...anyone any ideas how I can resolve this issue?
Thanks

Its not Dreamweaver, or Access, its your servers locale, its
set to US
format, not the UK.
On your page at the top use:
<% Session.LCID = 2057 %>
This will force the page into using UK formatted dates. Use
it on any
page that needs to format the page correctly.

How To Ask Smart Questions

I am trying to address an issue with flex lifecycle
There is a ui component ( say CompA) comprising of multiple tabs with individual components used in each of them.
CompA uses a data object that is used to populate the fields.
On click of a button in another panel, I am setting the current state of the application to this view component and after CompA is completely rendered I would like to load the data object and populate the fields.
The issue here is I cannot use the creationComplete event of CompA to load this data object because at this time not all components are completely created. (creationComplete of each of those components is not completed yet),.
When exactly can I load this data object into the UI fields. I am not able to figure out where even callLater() can be used .
applicationComplete
Event doesn’t seem to be an option, in this case. You can load the data when the state changes. There are events for that.
You could also look into updateComjplete which may work for you. -
Issues with iMessage when switching data carrier (wifi - cellular)
So I have had this issue with my 5S and now my 6+ in iMessage. Not *always* but often enough I've run into issues sending messages via iMessage when I associate with wifi in that they don't send. I'll get an error message saying "not delivered" and it will stack as many outgoing messages I try to send. However, if I force the first message to send as text, subsequent messages will go through afterwards without issue. If I go from wifi to cellular I have no issues whatsoever and when I have these issues on wifi, my data works fine (incoming emails, Facebook notifications, etc.). I used to run cellular data only because I had unlimited but now I have a cap so I intend on using wifi when possible...but to have to send my first message as a text just so I can use iMessage is annoying...
Hi there BigDogg795,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps for iMessage found in the article below.
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.
Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.

Back up all data, if you haven't already done so.
Select ▹ Software Update to install the latest Java update (if Java is already installed) or the Flashback malware removal tool (if Java is not installed under Lion), as well as any other available updates. Installing either of those items should clear the infection in most cases. You must update to the latest version of Mac OS X 10.6 or 10.7 before you can install the Java update.
The removal tool runs automatically in the background and is then deleted. Don’t look for something to click. If the malware is removed, you’ll be notified.

Issue with Oracle LONG RAW data type
Hi All,
I am facing some issues with Oracle LONG RAW DATA Type.
We are using Oracle 9IR2 Database.
I got a table having LONG RAW column and I need to transfer the same into another table having LONG RAW column.
When I tried using INSERT INTO SELECT * command (or) CREATE TABLE as select * , it is throwing ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype.
I have gone through some docs and found we should not use LONG RAW using these operations.
So I did some basic PLSQL block given below and I was able to insert most of the records. But records where the LONG RAW file is like 7O kb, the inserting is faliling.
I tried to convert LONG RAW to BLOB and again for the record where the LONG RAW is big in size I am getting (ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error) error.
Appreciate if anyone can help me out here.

Are there any compatibility issues with Sonos and Airport extreme??
are there any compatibility issues with Sonos and Airport extreme??
Sonos uses its own priopietory wireless protocol SonosNet to distribute audio data among all its products, thus it should not affect other network devices which use standard WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n protocol at all though they may share the same radio channel for wirless signaling.
On my dual-band (5 GHz / 2.4 GHz) Airport Extreme staion, I select the option "802.11n Only (5GHz) - 802.11n (2.4GHz)" and turn on "Use wide channels" in Wireless configuration in order to use only 802.11n protocol and more radio channels to achieve maximum wireless bandwidth of 400 Mbps. This bandwidth is necessary for quick Time Machine backup to NAS connected to the Airport Extreme station through Ethernet cable. So my iMac and MacBook Pro always connected to the Airport Extreme through 5 GHz radio channel with 802.11n protocol whereas my iPhone 4S always connected through 2.4 GHz radio channel with the same protocol.
In my living room Sonos ZP-90 (same as new CONNECT model) zone player is connected to Airport Extreme directly through Ethernet cable (recommended by Sonos) and Sonos S5 (same as new PLAY:5 model) zone player in bedroom is connected wirelessly through SonosNet protocol to the ZP-90 zone player in living room.
These devices are in operation simutaneouly most of the time. Music is playing through the Sonos ZP90/S5 zone players througout the day, I am streaming viedo through Internet (fibre broadband 25 Mbps) on my MacBook Pro in bedroom or iMac in living room or reading news on my iPhone. So far so good and have no encounter any interference problem for about three years. Further more bandwidth for 802.11n protocol does not seem to be affected at all.
In fact with a low power Fujitsu USB drive (2.5" / 500 GB, designed for notebook) plug into USB port of Airport Extreme, it can be used as NAS drive for Sonos music distribution system without any problem. Just transfer all files from Music folder in my home directory on iMac into this NAS drive and set it up as music source in "Manage > Music Library Settings" in Sonos Controller for Mac application will do. Though the same drive can be served as Time Machine's backup disk as well, an independent full-fledged NAS drive for Sonos and Time Machine backup is better long-term solution for reliability and performance. With the NAS configured as sole music source, you do not need to keep any computer powered on all the time in order to play music through the Sonos system. -
Issue with CDC and Replication enabled
Hello,
We have this strange issue with CDC and replication. Let me explain
1. We have a database on write server and we replicate some tables to the read server. There are 15 tables that we replication and 8 of them have computed columns that are persisted.
2. We also have CDC enabled on the same database where we have transactional replication enabled. I know that both CDC and replication uses replication log reader. Some how, all the time we see the log_reuse_wait says replication
3. If I add around 100-200 MB into these tables, with these persisted columns, it will be around 500 MB of data. But the replication is queuing up 10-15 GB of data.
4. I checked CDC tables, and the updates are in cdc tables. Also, I don't see CDC capture job. Is this because there is already replication enabled?
What might be the issue that's causing the log to hold for a very long extended periods of time? We don't see any issue with log reader and CDC.2. Log_reuse_wait will show replication status both for CDC and replication.
4. Yes as you are using transaction replication, Log Reader Agent is created for the database and the capture job won’t exist.
When the Log Reader Agent is used for both change data capture and transactional replication, replicated changes are first written to the distribution database.
Then, captured changes are written to the change tables. Both operations are committed together. If there is any latency in writing to the distribution database, there will be a corresponding latency before changes appear in the change tables.

As you said CDC updates are in cdc table I don’t see any issue.
You could run DBCC OPENTRAN to see the old active transaction? It will give you more info. -
Major CalDav and Syncing Issues with Ical and Address Book
As a CEO and business owner - I loved the move over to Mac after the intel chip as installed. Yet, the issue of working on a Mac for business comes down to the operating system. Up to Snow Leopard I was very pleased.... since Lion it has gone downhill. I upgraded to Mountain Lion and many of the issues with speed and problems with mail were addressed. Yet, it appears Apple has made a bad decision with regard to synciing to other programs.
I was told it has cut out syncing capablities for Address book and Ical (I assume other programs). This has caused great issues for The Omni Group, File Maker and Market Cirlce (creators of Daylite) and a lot of angst for me as a business owner!
To top this off - it appears CalDav is not bi-directional and has issues. In other words, it does not work as it should.
I am not sure what Apple was thining when it stopped allowing internal sync between programs. Yet, CalDav and CardDav are not always the answers!
I hope the CalDav issues are being cleaned up and if anyone from Apple wishes to comment on this I would appreciate it. I have tried to talk to support but the powers to be are the ones calling the shots on software design. Support can't fix what is broken the program.
Again, I hope Apple revisits syncing. Maybe the concern is security but it is MY DATA not yours. I just want the programs to work so I can make sales and support my customers efficiently. You have made it hard to do this with changes.
DavidAs an IT consultant, i'm in agreement with Mr Utts. The promise of "it just works" died with Steve Jobs. Mac OS has been in freefall since 10.5 . I need a fully functional OS, not an iPad on my desk. ( this means YOU Forstall !! )
Why break Samba ( a standard ), why break WebDAV ( a standard ), why break CalDAV ( a standard )?? Apple has done ALL of these things and they seem to be doing it on purpose.
The Apple "ecosystem" is just fine, but removing functionality as fast as you can, and removing interoperablity as fast as you can... if Apple products ONLY work within the ecosystem... people can and will leave Apple. You've already run off the business users by refusing to make a real Server or real Server software. You ran off the video user with Final Cut Pro X. Dumbing down (and breaking) the OS is running off the IT User.
Mac OS used to easily walk the line of "hard core enough for a Unix Guru, easy enough for your Mom". Now they just want the Moms.
And i disagree, we are ALL "qualified to say what Apple might do about this...", they will do nothing. They don't beleive they have made a mistake. They beleive WE are the problem by stubbornly insisting that things that used to work should continue to work. -
An issue with authentication and authorization on ISE 1.2
Hi, I'm new to ISE.
I have an issue with authentication and authorization.
I have ISE 1.2 plus patch 6 installed on VMware.
I have built-in Windows XP supplicant and 2960 cisco switch with IOS c2960-lanbasek9-mz.150-2.SE5.bin
On supplicant I use EAP(PEAP) with EAP-MSCHAP v2.
I created authentication and authorization rules with Active Directory as External Identity Source. Also I applied authorization profile with DACL.I login on Windows XP machine under different Active Directory accounts. Everything works fine (authentication, authorization ), but only for several hours. After several hours passed , authentication and authorization stop working . I can see that ISE trying authenticate and authorize users, but ISE always use only one account for authentication and authorization . Even if I login under different accounts ISE continue to use only one last account.
I traied to reboot switch and PC,but it didn’t help. Only rebooting of ISE helps. After ISE rebooting, authentication and authorization start to work properly for several hours.
I don’t understand is it a glitch or I misconfigured ISE or switch, supplicant?
What should I do to resolve this issue?

endYes. Tried that (several times) didn't work. 5 people in my office, all with vers. 6.0.1 couldn't access their gmail accounts. Kept getting error message that username and password invalid. Finally solved the issue by using Microsoft Exchange and "m.google.com" as server and domain and that the trick. Think there is an issue with imap.gmail.com and IOS 6.0.1. I'm sure the 5 of us suddently experiencing this issue aren't the only ones. Apple will figure it out. Thanks.

[solved] Issue with conky and Kde 4
I have a small issue with conky and KDE 4.2. I start conky with a script which I stored under ~/.kde/Autostart. The script is simple and looks like this..
conky -c ~/.conkyrc_kde4
This works fine. But when I restart the first KDE and check with ps, I have 2 instances of conky running. The instances keep on growing with the number of restarts.
I think kde tries to restart all the apps which were running when the session was terminated. Is there a way to change this behavior in general or all the programs or for only a specific program like conky ?

Help with writing and retrieving data from a table field with type "LCHR"
Hi Experts,
I need help with writing and reading data from a database table field which has a type of "LCHR". I have given an example of the original code but don't know what to change it to in order to fix it and still read in the original data that's stored in the LCHR field.
Basically we have two Function modules, one that saves list data to a database table and one that reads in this data. Both Function modules have an identicle table which has an array of fields from type INT4, CHAR, and type P. The INT4 field is the first one.
Incidentally this worked in the 4.7 non-unicode system but is now dumping in the new ECC6 Unicode system.
Thanks in advance,
C
SAVING THE LIST DATA TO DB
DATA: L_WA(800).
LOOP AT T_TAB into L_WA.
ZDBTAB-DATALEN = STRLEN( L_WA ).
MOVE: L_WA to ZDBTAB-RAWDATA.
ZDBTAB-LINENUM = SY-TABIX.
INSERT ZDBTAB.
READING THE DATA FROM DB
DATA: BEGIN OF T_DATA,
SEQNR type ZDBTAB-LINENUM,
DATA type ZDBTAB-RAWDATA,
END OF T_TAB.
Select the data.
SELECT linenum rawdata from ZDBTAB into table T_DATA
WHERE repid = w_repname
AND rundate = w_rundate
ORDER BY linenum.
Populate calling Internal Table.
LOOP AT T-DATA.
APPEND T_DATA to T_TAB.
ENDLOOP.Hi Anuj,
The unicode flag is active.
When I run our report and then to try and save the list data a dump is happening at the following point
LOOP AT T_TAB into L_WA.
As I say, T_TAB consists of different fields and field types whereas L_WA is CHAR 800. The dump mentions UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE
When I try to load a saved list the dump is happening at the following point
APPEND T_DATA-RAWDATA to T_TAB.
T_DATA-RAWDATA is type LCHR and T_TAB consists of different fields and field types.
In both examples the dumps mention UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE

ADF Faces - issue with Portal and af table
I wonder if anybody could help me with a problem we are experiencing with running our ADF Faces app inside a portal (NOT Oracle Portal). We are using the af table tag with the rows attribute set as follows:
<af:table emptyText="No items found"
rows="10" banding="row"
bandingInterval="1"
binding="#{backing_ModuleSearchReg.table1}"
id="table1"
var="row">
What this does is if we have more than 10 rows to display it will display
a table header that has a label 'Previous 1-10 of nnn' Next 10. However, when you click on 'Next 10' it produces a Javascript error.
When we run the app outside of the portal we do not get this problem.
I believe this is related to known issues with JSF and Javascript inside a 'framed' web page. But if anybody help me with this or point me to a resource that can help it would be very much appreciated.
Many Thanks in advance.
ChrisHi,
I remember a similar issue with inner frames that should be fixed in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3. The problem was that the ADF Faces JavaScript did not get the correct document root.

[URGENT] Performance problem with BC4J and partioned data
Hi all,
I have a big performance probelm with BC4J and partitioned data. As as partitioned table shouldn't have a primary key like a sequence (or something else) my partitioned table doesn't have any primary key.
When I debug my BC4J application I can see a message showing me "ignoring row with no primary key" from EntityCache. It takes a long time to retrieve my data even if I use the partition keys. A quick & dirty forms application was multiple times faster!
Is this a bug in BC4J, or is BC4J not suitable for partitioned data? Can anyone give me a hint what to do, do make the BC4J application fast even with partitioned data? In a non-partitioned environment the application works quite well. So it seams that it must be an "error" somewhere in this part.
Thanks,
AxelHere's a SQL statement that creates the table.

PARTITION BY RANGE (SEAR_PARTKEY_DAY, SEAR_PARTKEY_EMP)
PARTITION SEARCH_MAX VALUES LESS THAN (MAXVALUE, MAXVALUE) MIRA4_SEARCH_EVEN
);of course SEAR_ID is filled by a sequence but the field is not the primary key as it would decrease the performance of partitioned data.
We moved to native JDBC with our application and the performance is like we never expected to be!
