Issue with Lumia 620 Black update

Hi everyone. Recently I've updated my L620 to Black and the ROM is EU-Spain. When I turn the " Double tap" on for unlocking the screen and put my phone into any of my pockets, the phone strongly hangs and there will be no way to unlock the screen except replacing battery. I think this is a bug and my phone can not recognize the hits in my pockets as temporary hits. I don't want to disable " double tap" but by this problem I cant work with my phone safety.help pls. thanks

Just to clarify, did the issue happen immediately after the Lumia Black update? If yes, try to verify if the update is successfully installed on your phone. Check if 'Lumia Black' shows up under Settings > Extras + Info. Try also to check if all system apps are updated by scanning the QR app codes shown at this link, especially the one for 'Touch': Nokia Windows Phone 8 App updates After that, check if the phone's 'Double tap to wake' feature and the overall performance of the touch screen will improve.

Update queries (Lumia 620 Black Update)

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on here knew how long it should take between the update geting to the carrier and them pasiing on the update to the consumers?
I ask because mysef and others are STILL without the Update 3/Black update for the 620 ( in the UK), and are increasingly becoming annoyed (putting it lightly - don't want to get banned from the forum already) at this fact, especially since we know it is the carriers fault (I won't name and shame the carrier since it's in the link!)

The link above shows the interactions that have been made between those of us waiting for the update, and those at my carrier. In short, on the 2nd April, the foum dudes passed it on to those who deal with the updates. 8 days later (10th April, 3 weeks ago), the next reply was that they were in the latter stages of testing, and should be out "within the next few weeks". There have been NO updates since, hint the fact we are getting increasingly annoyed.
Surely, the fact they claim they were in the latter stages of testing 3 weeks ago mean we should have the update by now, especially since all other 620's in the UK had the update in March.

Lumia 620 black update

I have conected my lumia 620 with wifi and black update is also released for my phone but it can not be downloaded there is written downloading 0% and not going up why ???
i am trying from one week but i could not download the update...

Lumia 620 Black Update, availability in Africa!

I have the Lumia 620. I have been waiting for the Black update since the rollout started. I have the phone that is the only one amongst all the other phones, based on the network provider I am using, that is still waiting for availability. My phone has been acting up, I am beginning to see problems arise. I mentioned this to one of Nokia's employees and I was told it could be due to I do not have the update. Therefore problem can't be within my fault per se. This is just one of many emails. Any communication would be appreciated.

Did you try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool already? There, what is your 7-letter code (product code)? That code determines your firmware variant which determines your current version. Then we can check together if you have the latest version.

Aio/Cricket Lumia 620 Black Update

Hello. I asked this question to AIO already and they of course don't have a clue. There are some nice enhancements in black and a few apps that I would like to run that require the update.
Is this update now not going to happen? Before the black update status page showed the AIO 620 update as "Waiting for Approval" Now it states "Not avaialable"! What's the deal here? Should I have not bought this phone? Does this mean the Cyan update is not going to happen for AIO 620 either?
Is there anyone that can shed some light on this?

Thanks for the info I have not heard of that tool. As for latest version I know it is not as the Extras+info on my phone reports as the Amber Update. The page I referenced states the black update is now Not Available for my AIO 620. Hopefully that changes because I would hate to think the update that was promised is never going to materialize.
I hate to use a comparison here with another phone manufacturer but ideally it would be far better if it worked like Apples iOS updates. They are released by Apple and do not need to wait for the carrier to release it independent.
Maybe with Microsoft now controlling the hardware and the software they could implement something like this. Otherwise all phone models are running different versions of windows 8 and while not as fractured as Android it does fracture the user base.

Eagerly waiting for windows 8.1 update on Lumia 620, black update is awesome, but after reading about the,features of 8.1, anxious about the update as quick as possible, esp the cortona, icons as per wish,

The wait should not be no longer now as the roll out is meant to happen in June itself and depending on the carrier,country and variants the update will come soon. Except for the Cortana specially in India you will be able to enjoy all the features Be Calm and enjoy the windows phone experience.

MIRACAST possible with Lumia 620

Have anyone successfully MIRACAST with Lumia 620 (not 625, 630, 635) with Cyan Update?
I know that it works for Lumia 630, however NOT SURE regarding Lumia 620?

At least my Lumia 620 does not work …
It does not even offer the required menu option to start the setup/pairing.

Rest assured, the Lumia Black release for Lumia 720 in NZ is not forgotten. It will follow the release timing for Lumia 720 Country variant in Australia. We've asked for the NZ Lumia Black availability table to be updated.
The update should be available to you, barring any unforeseen technical issues, by the end of next week.

Any issues with latest 2014 ios update & Straight Talk

Hi, I've been with straight talk for about 2 weeks without any problem - switching --porting--pics.....all went well . Now my phone ( iPhone 3c) shows iOS update waiting..
Due to all I have read here & there,I'm a bit uneasy to do the update. Has anyone had any issues with lates t2014 ios update using ST? Will it affect the working of the phone if I don't do update? Thanks for any input.

Hi, Glad that worked for you. I don't know why this is happening other than to offer an opinion. This hardware acceleration was causing an issue with the previous version of FP also. I think that this technology is ready but the websites are not, youtube included.
The same thing happened with Flash Player for the mobile phones, Android in particular. Adobe was ready but had to wait on Google to catch up. So the users thot Adobe was at fault, but that wasn't the case. Google had to update and that was done with their 2.2 update. This is not an opinion however. I followed this because users were coming here asking why Flash Player wasn't available for their Android:-)
Adobe/Microsoft/Mac/Linux are all involved and if one advances a particular technology that effects the others, then each one must make a change for that technology to work. At least that's how I see it.

Software issues with lumia 1520 since wp8.1 update

I have Lumia 1520 which I bought in may 2014. Last month I have updated to wp8.1. Initially it was doing fine but since last 10-15 days I have been facing a series of issues with my mobile. I suspect 8.1 update to be the reason as I never faced a glitch
in my 3months of heavy usage on wp8.
below are the problems I have faced so far,
1) screen blacked out suddenly. No response whatsoever. It was working, I can receive calls and notifications but display does not work. Phone was continuously heating mean while. I visited the nearest,care center even they were clueless. Only thing they
did was to hardreset my phone.
2) volume automatically becomes 0. I try to change it someone value but the bar goes back to 0. Its like the volume is playing with me.annoying it was.
3) the touch does not work sometimes. Its sporadic lock and unlock,it works fine.
4) few minor issues.
these issues really annoy me. These might be some minor bug fixes please take these up and resolve. I have gone through many forums and writing this. So
many users facing similar issues. Thanks.

WiFi issues and crashing after black update

I have a uk lumia 820 which was updated to the latest os release including the nokia black update. The problem is since updating, my wifi does connect but soon after internet connnectivity is lost even when mobile data is also enabled, wifi remains connected but needs to be cycled off/on before internet access is restored. One thing i have noticed is that after restarting the phone the access point setting always shows and asks to pick my network operator. Also i have seen a few system/app crashes that did not happen before the black update was installed. I have done numerous soft resets but the problem remains.

Hi there, I have the same problem but this has been happening since the Amber update, so its not related to the Black update.
The problem is that when you are connected to your WiFi and then leave coverage for any period of time, the WiFi does not reconnect. It can see the access point, and shows you are connected in settings, but if you try to use WiFi then it does not fully connect.
Turning off and on is the only way around this which is not a suitable option. It would be preferable that the WiFi did manage to reconnect completely. Is this an OS problem, or a problem with the firmware on the WiFi chip?
There are a lot of users with this issue so can we get Nokia to look into this as a bug?

Issues with ios 8.3 update on iPhone 5

After updating my iPhone 5 to ios 8.3, I am unable to stream purchased music and videos from iTunes or any podcasts. I also can not stream videos on YouTube, Netflix, or Safari. Nothing works on both Wi-Fi and my normal data. If I could I would try to turn off the phone and restart but unfortunately my iPhone 5 is one of the ones that has the faulty lock button that needs to be repaired. But besides that, has anybody else been having issues with streaming music and videos?

but if you have problem with turning off the phone,
you can set up "assistive touch" from setting > general > accessibility > assistive touch (down the bottom)
you can also set this on the accessibility shortcut for the triple click on the home button to show/hide the assitive touch
you'll see a black circle floating on the screen somewhere. you can move this thing around if it blocks what you want to see/tap
now to turn off your phone you can tap the assistive touch button > device > tap and hold the 'lock screen' icon until the power off slider comes up.
so you don't really have to fix the lock button

I am still in black update,not getting cyan update.

Lumia 920 - Black update problems, slow app respon...

I have had a lumia for well over a year in the UK, I updated to the black update a week ago, and the phone became completely unresponsive, similar to theDej's problem here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Phone-inoperative-after-lumia-black-update/m-p/2372351/h...
However, I contacted the carrier (EE) and they replaced the handset. I set up the replacement handset, which then prompted for the update, and I took the plunge and applied it again.
Now, although the handset mostly works, some apps have stopped functioning, and most importantly the WiFi settings and Bluetooth settings pages often become completely unresponsive, drop their connections, and dont show any available connections, so I cant reconnect to WiFi or bluetooth without restarting the phone. Also on some occasions, turning off the phone shows the "goodbye" screen, but either doesn't turn off and returns to the home screen or it magically restarts without me pressing the power button.
Has anyone come across any issues like this, is there anything I can do?

Please, try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool and report your results. We have a lot of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi issues reports since Lumia Black – no problem here. However, we have so many, sounds like several different issues.
