Issue with main window data

HI all,
My main window data is not displayed on the third page.
I have following page,.
Page one (First page)
Next Page(Next page of the first page will be triggrred in case of data overflow)
Page Two(Which is copy of the first page and i am calling this page from the first page using the command line)
Issue is my main window data is not displayed in the third page.
I third page i called from the first page but the main window is coming as a blank.

Hi Sachin,
Have you used Table or Template in the Main window...?
Because, there are some scenarios in which the data will not be displayed in Templates used in the Samrtforms.

Issue with Ord Start Date

Hi,
I am having issue with Ord Start Date.
When i create XYZ Asset now when i do the acquasation for that new asset. Example: Using FB01 i enter todays date and i do the posting.
Now when i go to DEP Area TAB for the DEP Key (M200) - The Ord Dep Start Date is 15 Dec 2010.
For this DEP Key Period Control Methods (T code - AFAMP) - Acquisation Entered is ( 6 that is - at the start of year) and the Period Control is ( T code - OAVS) (4 that is - First year convention at half year start date).
Our client is using the fiscal year as 1 June 2010 to 31 May 2011.
So when i do acquistion for the asset as per the period contol the Ord Dep Start Date should be 1 Dec 2010, but here it is talking 15 Dec 2010.
Why is system talking 15 days more.

Which Fiscal year variant are you using??
Did you maintain it in OAVH? Copy the existing entry in OAVH for K4 to your Fisc Yr var and try again
And also, 04 does not figure for Acquisitions in AFAMP under 0004.... Whatever you specify in OAVH must also be a part of AFAMP

Be careful with Windows Updates, especially driver updates. Standard WHQL drivers can cause problems.

Main window data to be page protected in smartform

Hello Experts,
I want to make Main window data to be page protected.
But page Protection check box is in Noneditable mode .
Please let me know, how to make main window data to be page protected.

Hi,
    Try this way
    Under the Main Table node, you will find, Header, Main Area and Footer.
    Select Main Area, right click Create> Folder
    Drag the Row item inside the Folder
    Select the Folder node, for Folder node out put options, you can select Page Protection check box.

I am afraid that functionality of exporting tuples data using data manager is not available at the moment till MDM 7.1 SP08. Lets see if coming versions provides this functionality...

Serious locking issues with Main Stage 3

Having serious locking issues with main stage 3. I just did a music gig over the weekend with main stage 3, and the application locked up 8 times during my performance. There were also several times where there was a delay between the time I struck a key on the midi controller and the time sound actually came out of the audio interface. Has anyone else ran into this problem??

Issue in overlapping of windows with main window.

My requirement is to have 4 windows at the end of main window.
the 4 windows should be printed only after end of all the line items in the main window.
the problem here is if i extend my main window till the end and overlap the 4 windows. if line items are less it is printing perfectly fine. if line items are many the 4 windows are overlapping on line items. if i decrease the size of main window and place 4 windows after that, if line items extend to two or three pages. windows space will be wasted in page 1 and page 2 as the 4 windows will be printed only on the last page i.e end of line items.
Any pointers for solving this would be appreciated.

one death you gonna die, thats what i always say to customers when it comes to this topic.
IF you want certain things printed on certain positions of a sheet, you NEED to reserve this space, so that no overlapping issue comes up.Reserving this space means that this space may stay free in matter of page breaks and such.
So they either live with the wasted space, or they live with the information having an uncertain position, since you just give it out in main window after all the line items.
If first case is BLACK and second case is WHITE, then you have to know that in this scenarion there is no GRAY, just WHITE OR BLACK.

How to print main window data in second page without header

I am printing billing docu details in main window ,the data is coming in two pages but there is problem in printing as the tables is continuing in second page the line is not coming for the table for first row,space is also coming for second page for header .
my issue is to remove space before printing table and line should come for the table for 1st row in second page.
please help .

Hi Raghukumar,
1. For the line not coming on the top row of the second page, check if the rowtype u have used in the table has been given a border on the upper side.
2.For the space issue in the second page, I assume you might have used only a single Page in your smartform and the same page is called again.Hence as per the main window size and length data will be displayed in all pages of the smartform.
You may need to create a second page with the Main window length occupying the compete page so that data display starts from the top of the page. next Page attributes of the smartforms should be entered accordingly.

Are there solutions to Compatibility Issues with Thunderbird, Windows 8.1 and Anti-Virus Software, e.g., MacAfee?

Since I upgraded to Windows 8.1, Thunderbird freezes up and goes into "Not Responding" mode repeatedly every few minutes. My research indicates that it is a problem with compatibility with antivirus software, which obviously is needed with an e-mail program. How can this problem be solved, or is there an antivirus program that works seamlessly with Thunderbird and Windows 8.1?

Personally I use ESET NOD32. It is not cheap, but it is unobtrusive and appears to get the job done. Originally I was drawn there for their server protection, but since I no longer have windows servers that need is gone, but I see no reason to change.
Previously over the years I have used;
* Norton (Found it just to much embedded into the operating system. Something went wrong with it and Windows would not boot.
* Microsoft Security Essentials. Any application using large data files was unworkably slow. That included Thunderbird.
* AVG It was just clunky and I did not like it.
But the big issue these days is the products are not just anti virus, they are suites including firewalls, password managers/vaults and often spam and scam tools. It is usually these later tools that cause the most issues with the firewalls blocking anything but known versions of known software and spam tools that mess up because it has not had enough testing.
Basically your on your own in selecting a product5. I can not recommend one. But I seriously question the need for mail scanning. Especially after that remarkable admission by Symantec regarding Norton's not scanning mail.
Thunderbird does not run any scripts in mail, nor does it do anything with attachments before you open them and then it decodes them and places them in the temp folder where any good anti virus will scan them.
Personally I suggest anti virus rather than security suite software. Especially so if you use Chrome or Firefox browsers and they both use Google lists of known malware and phishing site to block inadvertent visits.
Windows has a firewall, your modem (over 90%) has one as well, those firewalls block ports, protocols and route traffic. Do you also need one that blocks programs?
Mozilla products have a password manager, do you need another? And so the list goes on.

Issue with the Posting Date of the Purchase Order.

There are fields in BW like SSL1: Time OK, SSL2: Qty OK, SSL3: Time & Qty Ok, SSL4: Days Late (Routines are written to calculate). These fields will indicate whether the delivery against a GR is OK or not with respect to Time, Quantity and the No. of Days..
But here the issue I am facing is
If there is only1 delivery/ GR against a single item the calculation in BW are correct - i.e. for a particular PO if there is only one delivery the above fields like SSL1: Time Ok, SSL2: Qty OK will show like the delivery is done within the specified time and everything is OK (in case if it is delivered within the allotted time)
But if there are multiple deliveries or multiple GR's posted for one PO item, the calculations are going wrong i.e. even if the delivery is done well within the specified time it is showing the wrong calculations like it is delievered too late. Because in this case the earlier dates are overwritten.
Can anyone throw me some light on how can I go about solving this issue.
I am thinking of declaring the Posting Date as the KeyField of the DSO as of now it is a Data field I also want to know the impact of assigning this as a Keyfield.

Hi,
As I understand, you have a DSO based on Purchase Order and your key field is PO and its line item. The problem as you stated will always be there if you have multiple deliveries/GRs created for a single line item because the system will overwrite the entries for same key.
Problem with adding Posting date as keyfield will be that then your key will be PO-PO Lineitem-Date. When PO will be created, the Posting date will be blank(correct me here if I am wrong), therefore you will have one entry for same PO-line item combination. One without date and other with date, which again would be incorrect. If my assumption about Posting date was wrong, even then your data may not be correct because then you may have many entries with same posting date which again would overwrite each other.
If there is any direct link between PO line item and number of deliveries that will get created for them, then you can bring that field in DSO as keyfield. But I don't think there is any such field.
Looking at your report requirement, I would suggest that you make a DSO based on Goods Receipts and then calculate these keyfigures by comparing the dates between GR posting date and PO line item date.
Else you can change the way your datasource works(if its generic one based on function module). Since your main requirement is to check whether the GR posting date has met your SLA or not, you should fetch all the details only when GR is created and make your key field as PO-PO Line item-GR

Overflow of Main window data in to variable windows

I have a following scenario. I have a main window . I defined some other variable windows below the main window. My problem is that when the data is full in main window it is not triggering page break and printing variable window in the next page. Instead, the data is priting in the first page it self mingling with the data of the variable windows. Any solutions please?

Are you giving the next page as the second page in the first page General Attributes?
Have you checked any checkboxs in the conditions tab of the table node?

Issue with 0hrposition master data

We are extracting data from SAP using 0HRPOSITION_ATTR datasource. I noticed that data is not maintained correctly in master data tables in BW and giving us incorrect results in reporting. Consider below mentioned scenario:
Position A created as vacant on 04/01/2006 with start date (BEGDA/ Valid from) as 04/01/2006 and End date (ENDDA/ Valid to) as 12/31/9999 and is vacant. Below mentioned entry is shown under maintain master data for 0HRPOSITION in BW:
Position Valid To Valid From Position Vacant
A 03/31/2006 01/01/1000
A 12/31/9999 04/01/2006 X
Position A is now delimited on 09/15/2006 as its no more required. In SAP, position has record only from 04/01/2006 till 09/15/2006 as vacant. When record is extracted in BW, it creates below mentioned entry in master data table.
Position Valid To Valid From Position Vacant
A 03/31/2006 01/01/1000
A 09/15/2006 04/01/2006 X
<b>A 12/31/9999 09/16/2006 X</b>
Entry 09/16- 12/31 is incorrect as position doesnt exist for this duration. If we report on 0HRPOSTION with key date as 09/30/2006, it shows position A as vacant though position no longer exists.
Has anyone come across this situation. any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a similar issue. Can you please let me know how this Issue with 0HRPOSITION_ATTR extractor was resolved. In my case i have incorrect data in BW when reporting is done. THrough the extractor untill the PSA i have the correct records coming but in the master data 0HRPOSITION i have incorrect records.

Problem with Main window in smartforms

Hi All,
I am creating a smartform, in that i need to restrict the no. of line item is to 15 and i need to draw a box for it. My problem is if i am displaying 15 line items the box will be drawn correctly and if i use only 3 line item then the box is drawing only for 3 line item. But i need to draw a box for 15 line items constantly at any given point of time irrespective of no. of line items. I am displaying this info using mail window, plz do help me.

Hi,
First describe your internal table and based on that you deifne another internal table in which you will have some 2 dummy fileds
suppose if you internal table has 10 lines then you need to have 5 more lined to print right?
say describe lines is v_lines
v_rem = v_lines mod 15. (you will get remainder here)
then v_count = 15 - v_rem.
before main window do code as following .
do v_count times.
v_dummy1 = text (maintgain soem text in this field)
v_dummy2 will not have any value.
append these values to it_dummy table.
enddo.
And when you loop main table count one more variable say v_cnt.
Now you can loop your dummy internal table based on condition.
the condition would be v_cnt eq v_lines .
and print empty text . dont print the field that have some text.
loop dummy table only after printing main table data in the main window.
