Issue with NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS when pushing Number to OLAP

Hi,
I am using OLAP DML from PL-SQL
dbms_aw.execute('pc_discount_rate_m = ' || pc_discount_rate/100);
Wherein the 'pc_discount_rate_m' is a measure & 'pc_discount_rate' is a PL-SQL Number datatype . Runtime value of the 'pc_discount_rate' is 10. So the value pushed is 0.1
When the NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTER - decimal marker is ',' the above DML throws error "-35188 : ORA-35188: The word = must be followed by an expression." (As in PL-SQL the value pushed is ',1' )
However this error is not coming when the NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTER - decimal marker is '.'
How to get rid of this issue ? . Is there any way OLAP Recognize the NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTER so that the DML will not result in error. We can not make the measure to VARCHAR2/String type.

Hi,
I checked in my environment and got the value as '.,'. When I tried to set as you said '.' I m getting error.
Try setting to '.,' like this and then try to see if it resolves this error.
alter session set NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = '.,'

The HTC hotspot works fine with everything else I connect to it.

I have to say this is my first venture into Apple products and I have always wanted to get away from my windows based laptop to get a MacBook, the problems I have had (flash player etc) & continue to have (as above) are putting me right off swapping over. I HATE technology that doesn't work and my ipad has been hard work!

I stated my ipad as being an ipad2, but I now think it is a 3??? It was new Jan this year and is the 64gb retina display version.
I really would like to get to the bottom on this problem wit mobile hotspots as it is sitting on my desk next to me now and I cannot get it to connect to my HTC mobile hotspot!!!! It might be taking a flying lesson soon at this rate!!! Grrrrrrr...........

I am having the same issue but mine is with Netflix. And there are only 4 categories now on the main menue when there used to be 5. Something went crazy with ATV software.

Issues with iMessage when switching data carrier (wifi - cellular)

So I have had this issue with my 5S and now my 6+ in iMessage. Not *always* but often enough I've run into issues sending messages via iMessage when I associate with wifi in that they don't send. I'll get an error message saying "not delivered" and it will stack as many outgoing messages I try to send. However, if I force the first message to send as text, subsequent messages will go through afterwards without issue. If I go from wifi to cellular I have no issues whatsoever and when I have these issues on wifi, my data works fine (incoming emails, Facebook notifications, etc.). I used to run cellular data only because I had unlimited but now I have a cap so I intend on using wifi when possible...but to have to send my first message as a text just so I can use iMessage is annoying...

I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps for iMessage found in the article below.

To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.

Issue with Backflush when Consuming Fractions

I am having an issue with back-flushing I was hoping Guru's could help me .
Here is the issue:
In the BOM for every 1 EA of X(Parent) we need .025 EA of Y(Child)
The parent part is X. Using CS03 and typing in a quantity of 20 pcs everything looks perfect. I would consume component Y .500 of a sheet.
If you review MFBF for 20 pcs. of X it wants to consume 1.00 of Y. (1 whole sheet instead of .5)
I know I could put a rounding value of 40 on the X to fix this but that would not be an option for this particular process. Measurements of each of these is not exactly the same and very critical.
Is there an issue with SAP consuming fractions? It seems to round up to 1 whole sheet when it should only consume .500 of a sheet. Do you know of a way to fix this?

For some reason which is unknown for me, this topic is very hard to manage within SAP.
We face exactly the same issue producing Tanks from steel sheets.
Base Unit of Measure was EA for Sheets . SO, we create a copy of EA called ED (each with decimals) , allowing up to three decimals and assign it as an alternate UoM to the material. In Bom, we had, for instance, 3.6 ED to produce a tank.
But, in reservations the quantities are stored as Base Unit of measure and without decimals, regardless the fact that you a have an alternative UoM , etc etc.
So, if you consume the component based on MIGO and reservations, SAP will propose 4 EA (o 4 ED ! which is even stranger - because of double conversion between base and alternative UoM) . If you consume by backflush, you dont even realise that the GI is being carried out in that way.
We are still waiting for some solution after we sent a message, describing the issue. It is advisable to search the SAP Notes to see if there is some solution .
So far, alternative UoM is not the solution.
You must change the base unit of measure to ED or have some manual procedure of checking the quantities.
Of course, EA can be redefined with decimal parts, also, but this normally can lead to some other problems (other parts managed striclty in EA, i. e. a tank, could be managed in fractions, 0.75 of a tank !!! etc. )

Issues with Images when used w/ Caption Widget & Book File Size Q

Hi Everyone,
I was having issues with images not showing up and determined it was the caption widget causing the issue. I now have one of two issues happening consistently. Either the image does not show at all or just the caption box with bkgd gray and caption text shows, but without the image.
Anyone else have this issue?
Ay ideas would be greatly appreciated. I wasw just about finished with this project when this started!
Also, the size of the book is considerably larger than I realized.It is 81 mb. . . How does this compare to any of your books?

I can't speak to your main issue, as I cannot recreate the problem over here.
As a guess, have you checked to make sure you're not running out of harddrive space? iBA can consume space quickly, and behaves oddly when it begins to run out of room.
But as far as filesize goes, I can only wish for an 81 MB book. Mine is currently a little over 2 GB and growing. Tonight I had to split it into 2 volumes just so iBooks Author can run at a reasonable pace. I was getting tired of waiting 1-2 minutes after dragging a video around on the page before I could get control of the program again.
You should note that Apple is expecting large filesizes for this new Multi-Touch format. The docs on iTunesConnect say the largest allowed upload size for a book is 16GB 2BG (see link below)

Issue with memory when trying to do a restore on iPad 2

I'm had a few issues with my iPad and am trying to do a restore, I start OK but then after a while I get a "can not be restore. The disk you are attempting to use is full" the PC I am using does not have a large C drive and space is limited but I do have a large external drive attached with loads of space. Is there any method of using the external hard drive when restoring?
I hope this makes sence, iPad now been down for over a week and issues getting me down.

The restore must be done within iTunes on your PC while iTunes is running so - No - you cannot restore using the external drive. You might try moving some of the stuff on your C drive to the external drive to free up space and then restore your iPad.

After I got the error messages I removed all apple software from Programs and now when I reinstall following the instructions I can not find the saved setup file? What do I try now?

Issue with CAT2 when transferring to CATM

Hi All
We have a scenario where a service PO for a contractor is raised against a network and when the user enters time in CAT2 against a WBS, we have an issue with the transfer (CATM). As it stands, we need to have the same account assignment as the PO.
is there a way to process this please?

Hi,
I think you should be using CAT5 instead of CATM to transfer to PS. If approval is required as per dataentry profile, you will also have to execute CATS_APPR_LITE prior to CAT5.

X61 Standby issue with XP when undocked

Hi,
Just did a HDD upgrade on my most excellent X61 and after a clean install of XP, I now have an issue with the Standby functionality. Here's the symptoms:
1. If I restart while X61 is docked, I get normal startup and standby mode works both when docked and after proper undocking procedure. Works as expected.
2. If I restart undocked, the Standby option in the "Turn Off Computer..." menu is grayed out and sure enough, never goes into standby. I have of course tried to modify power options in the Control panel, but it never gives me the option to go into Standby mode when lid is closed.
I do have dual boot on my X61 with Debian Linux and that supports Standby, no issues.
So, after some background reading, seems there is a possibility that I missed a driver during installation and some HW is not letting the X61 enter standby when it is not docked.
Any ideas which driver this may be??? Though I'd ask before having to through and try to install ALL drivers again

Just tried installing lots of stuff I probably don;t need with System Updater. Now I've got:
- Still no standby when undocked
- 2 instances of thinkvantage toolbox that does nothing but try to repair "installed fonts" and fails
- ThinkPad Video Features (Intel GM965) keeps recurring in the updates. When I try, it says successfully installed, but ???
Any ideas?

Issues with pagination when using Adobe table with Web dynpro for ABAP

I am facing strange issue with table text.
I have three cols in table, one is of type Char255 and other two cols are of type string.
The text in the col 1 is displayed perfectly but in other two cols of type string whenever we have pagination the text in table is getting truncated and in next page new row starts.
Could you please tell me the settings that will enable flowing of text in the row of table to next page.

Check the properties of the text field you use for those columns (if you want to control it on this level) or check the same attribute for the row subform (one level up control): "allow page break within content".

Issue with Metadata when importing 30K images from Photoshop Elements 7

I'm a new mac user and am moving ~30k images from my PC to my mac. I have photoshop elements 7 that I use on the pc and am moving everything over to Aperture. I maintain all of my organization on the PC using "key words". I made sure to move all of the metadata over to the Mac with the images. However, I would say approx 5,000-10,000 of the images have the wrong Metadata. For example, a key-word "Vacation" is showing up on an image that should say "Christmas". This is just an example and it's creating major issues with my smart albums. The wrong images are in the wrong albums. Help!?!?

Is anyone familiar with PSEDBTOOL? I've been told it will do a good job applying metadata to files inside PSE but I'm afraid to run it and have it screw up my current library.
I'm not familiar with that tool. What I will say is that your caution is well founded. If you do try to run anything like that on the PC side, ensure first that you have a backup of any data that might be modified - and that you (a) know how to restore from the backup in case anything goes pear-shaped and (b) you've actually tested your backup (by doing a restore) and are confident with its integrity.
One other thought has occurred to me since earlier. Let's try a different tool...
– Locate one of your problematic master files - on the Mac side - as exported from PhotoShop Elephants.
– Open it in Preview. (It lives in the Applications folder.)
– Select +Tools > Show Inspector+ (if the Inspector is not already showing from an earlier session).
– Click on the Inspector icon which resembles a simplified traditional magnifying glass.
That displays the keywords in the file.
How do they compare with your expectations (from PSE)? How do they compare with what's showing in Aperture?
This won't solve the problem, but it might just shed some more light on the problem.

Serious issues with Timer when RunTimeExceptions are thrown in TimerTask

I am facing serious issues with Timer and TimerTask.
Runtime exceptions thrown in TimerTask kill that one thread, thus making Timer dead i.e. scheduled tasks will not run anymore. Is there any way we can overcome this with Timer or it is just not possible?
I used try, catch blocks in TimerTask for RunTimeExceptions but no luck. Timer is not running any more once TimerTask throws any exceptions. Why it is not able to catch them? Is this known issue with Timer?
I am using Java 1.5.0_08.
Any guidance is appreciated.

Is this known issue with Timer?It's perfectly possible for you to catch a RuntimeException, in a TimerTask or anywhere else. If you were thinking that there is a language feature or something which makes catching exceptions work differently in a TimerTask, you weren't thinking right. Your code is just wrong.

Issues with Godaddy when putting dynamic sites to server

It has come to my attention that there are all kinds of issues when putting a dynamic PHP site to server when using Godaddy as a host. Since each hosting account uses a variation of secureserver.net, as opposed to localhost, tons of changes have to be made when putting to server; moreover, if you accidentally overwrite existing files from your local machine, then the whole thing falls apart and is useless. This creates far too many difficulties for an independent designer, in my opinion. Has anyone encountered this problem, and, if so, did you migrate to another host?

I have encountered what you are talking about. PHP / mySQL being pretty new to me, <8 months, my first project was a friend's server, and i was allowed to remote connect from home for development.
Later i understood that that ability isnt normal, esp in virtual shared hosting plans.
Since then i have it all sorted, thankfully. I use WAMP (easy install, installs apache,php, mysql in one go, and its free.) for localhost dev.
so how i do it, for now... develop locally w localhost. Have 2 databases created (Applications window -> databases) - one for local, one for remote. the remote is for when the files are uploaded to godaddy (or whoever) and the local for, local of course!
Name them similiar... MyDatabase_L and MyDatabse_R for example.
When youre ready to upload files to remote, use Find / Replace to change all the MyDatabase_L to MyDatabse_R.
works great for me! Considering for a minute i didnt think i'd find ANY way. Also didnt know what the heck i was doing, ha.
worth noting.. if you open a file with the MyDatabase_R, its ok. But if you try to edit anything in that file that would prompt ADDT to connect to the DB, its not gonna work. No big deal, as, ive gotten better with Find / Replace because of all this and am so glad i did!
I know Gunther has an even better method ive been meaning to explore, where his Database files refer to a config file, and changing one number in that config file globally affects all the dependent databse files.
Anyways hope that helped! I have no negative feelings to GoDaddy, rather, have always found their support to be top notch, and prices hard for clients to complain about. To each his own, though!

We have a replicated table using the following index:

If I force the set of primary keys to be only the NOT NULL fields, I can successfully apply the error, but since we may have them storing both NULL and NOT NULL values, this is not a solution.
I'm wondering why the DB on one hand converts the empty string in a NULL while inserting, but it looks the Apply process onStandby is not able to do the same when looking for the record before applying the transaction.
