Issue with OBIEE 11g(11.1.3) Installation

I have installed OBIEE 11g last evening. I was able to connect to the dashboard and run a simple report also – all before shut down. Now when I try to access OBIEE 11g thru port :9704 after starting the BI services, I am getting the following error.
“Error 404–Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol — HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
My Weblogic server is working fine but im not able to access EM or ANALYTICS.
When I click Programs > OBI > Start BI Services it opens 3 wndows and says weblogic server is started and Im able to login to Weblogic server via “http://localhost:7001/console”.
When i start my machine the following services are started automatically:
1) Oracle WebLogic node Manager
2) OracleDBConsole
3) Oracle Service
4) OracleOraDB11g_home2_TNSListener
The following services are not started:
1) OracleDB11g_home2_ClrAgent
2) OracleJobScheduler
3) Oracle Process Manager(instance1)
4) Oracle VSS Writer Service
can you pls let me know how to start the Weblogic Admin Server?
I have even tried to reinstall and when the installation completes im able to login to “EM”, “weblogic” and “Analytics” also, but once i restart my machine im not able to login to “Analytics” as well as to “EM”.
The process im following is:
When i start the BI Services from Start->Programs->Oracle Business Intelligence->Start BI Services, i get a popup window where it asks for weglogic user and password, then i have entered the user as “weblogic” and has give the password entered at the time of installation, then 2 popups opens and it runs several java files, then im able to login to weblogic but no luck with “em” or “analytics”.
If i try to login to weblogic and try to start the “bi.em”, “biadminservices” i get java error message.
Even i dont get Oracle Logo on the Admin tool also.
Can you pls let me know the repository password also as i have tried with “Admin123? but no luck.
Every time when i do the installation im able to access all the services for the first time but once i restart the machine then only weblogic will be working.
I have installed OBIEE 11.1.3 on Windows 7 Ultimate N(32 bit) OS with Oracle11g Database
Pls let me know if im missing anything here?

This is a really basic question... but how much memory do you have, and how long have you waited for all the processes to load? On a Windows XP Virtual Machine with 3GB, I have waited 20 minutes before being able to access. And until then, you will see the error you have received.
Just a thought...

Issue with OBIEE 11g Deinstall

Hi All,
While trying to uninstall OBIEE 11g 6.8 (Simple Install), I guess I did a wrong step, by mistake I unistalled Weblogic Server before deinstalling the Oracle Instance and now while trying to deinstall the instance using "Deinstall Managed ASInstance", it gives me an error "INS- Unable to connect to Oracle WebLogic Administration Server" which makes sense because there is no admin server running now without weblogic.
What should I do now ?
1. Should I proceed with deleting the binaries and then manually delete the instance folder later on - If I do this, will I get an error while doing a fresh installation again?
2. Is there a way to install weblogic server again and then I can start again by deleting the Oracle Instance again
I realize that I should have uninstalled Weblogic Server at the end but now I am stuck, can anybody please help me on this?

Ronny , No where you can't install weblogic to start with uninstall again !
just go with the option #1 if it is linux just rm directory should work otherwise delete the binaries, folders manually & environment variables

IE9 issue with obiee 11g

Hi All,
I have done some customizations using narrative view of obiee11G which displays an image on canvas using HTML5. I can view report with the custom image using all the browsers except Internet explorer. After some research i found that i need to change the Browser mode to IE9 from IE9 compatability view in F12 developer tool.
Is there a way to default this browser mode to IE9 instead of changing it manually every time we login to BI.

Did you try clicking on Tools>Compatability Settings on the browser and seeing if the site is in the window? If so, remove it so it no longer uses Compatability View.

Issue with OBIEE 11g measure columns

Hi,
Recently one of our application got migrated from 10 to 11g. post migration we had patched 6.1 and 6.2.
measure column defined in RPD were working fine in 10g and 11g(after patching) as well. Suddenly all measure columns are behaving abnormal.
Even though the measures are defined at particular level, the values are getting summed up and displaying the same for each and every dimension entity.
Simply bifurcation is not happening according to the dimension in all the reports.

Check the physical query for group by clause cols, and check for those columns levels.

I do not know whether obiee can use Oracle LSH as a source or not but please refer below link. It says that
1) Users can then launch the Oracle Business Intelligence Dashboard
either through Oracle LSH or through a URL to see data visualizations.
2)
Oracle LSH Release 2.2 supports using OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 for both programs and
visualizations and OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 for visualizations only.

Because I can't create data set using Oracle BI Analysis now, and the analyses and dashboards in BIEE presentation catalog is unvisible. Why?

I may be missing something, but BI Publisher Enterprise is installed at the same time as when you install BIEE on the server. You wouldn't install BI Publisher Desktop on that server. You can use BI Publisher Desktop locally to create templates for use in BI Publisher Enterprise.
I'm much more familiar with XML (BI) Publisher as part of Oracle Apps moreso than BIEE, so I could be wrong in my assessment.

Pre-Configured Virtual Machine with OBIEE 11g available?

does Oracle offer a pre-configured Virtual Machine with OBIEE 11g? I found an old Virtual Box Image with 10.2..., but nothin newer.

I don't suppose this is available yet is it? I notice Oracle offer quite a few downloadable images for Virtual Box now, but OBI isn't included in any that I could see.

Issue with OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 Installation on Windows 2008 64-bit machine

I'm following the below steps to install OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 Installation on Windows 2008 64-bit machine. However the installation is unsuccessful as it fails at the "Domain Creation" step. It would be very helpful and greatly appreciated if any workaround is provided. Thanks!

Configuration issue related OBIEE 11G coreapplication_obips1

Not sure about the behaviour in 11g, but we faced a similar issue in 10g while passing the presentation varaibles to detail report where main/detail report where coming from different subject areas. The behavior was a little unpredictable. To overcome this, we tried using request variable instead of presentation variable and it worked for us.
You can give it a try by doing the same and see if it works for you.

Login issue in OBIEE 11g

Hi Experts,
We are using OBIEE 11g
We are facing the strange issue while accessing the presentation services login page.
I had uploaded the RPD file using EM,it is working for 1 hour with out any issue.
After some time the fallowing error is coming. then we are not able to access presentation services,
I had observed all the services are down in EM>Capasity manage ment tab.
Longing screen is coming ,but after entering the credentials ,it is showing login into…but not at all opening the window.
Error connecting to the Oracle BI Server: Could not connect to the Oracle BI Server because it is not running or is inaccessible. Please contact your system administrator.
Error Codes: WH4KCFW6:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred.
[nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=Connect: (Number=0) Call=NQRpc: An unknown socket communications error has occurred.
[nQSError: 12010] Communication error connecting to remote end point: address = SERVERNAME.com; port = 9706.
[nQSError: 12008] Unable to connect to port 9706 on machine SERVER_NAME.com.Please have your System Administrator look at the log for more details on this error. (HY000)

I normally do this to fix this problem
1>Disable the network , keep the loopback adaptor enabled and then restart the services.
2> You can enable the network after services are restarted.
If you want a more practical solution and dont want to disable network again and again, then you would find the blog below useful.

Exporting Issue in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I am having an issue in exporting a huge amount of data in OBIEE 11g, what happens is : I am able to export the Whole table data which is around 6000 Records, but when I open Excel Sheet the Alignment of the report is ruined after Record number 1890.
I tried this from different browsers and the same result appeared.
can anyone help me with that ?
