Issue with plan type...

Hi Guys,
Unfortunately, I have clicked the "initialize workforce" command in planning webclient (v.9.2). Workforce plan type had been created. If I delete plan type now, What are implications i will see. please suggest me what to do.

To disable Workforce:
- Edit the HSP_SystemCfg table in the application relational DB and change the values of the following fields to the given respective values. Before updating the table ensure that database backup is there to restore from in case there is a need to do so.
- MODULE_SUPPORTED to 7
- MODULE_ENABLED to 7
- WF_KEY to NULL
- WF_OPTIONS to 0
- Go to the registry.properties usually located in C:\Hyperion\common\config and comment out the following line:
- PLANNING_WRKFORCEPLNG_OPT=false,false
This property is application specific and not user specific.

Has anyone had issues with Planning security refreshing in Essbase

I am on Planning version 9.3.0.1 and we are having issues with planning users being able to use an essbase connection to pull data from smartview. They are able to see data in web forms in planning but they get #no access when they try to connect to the same data in smartview.
Has anyone else experieced this issue.

If user works when you provision individually its because they were set in the environment in EAS.
group has to have all the access needed (bug in orig). css file open a ticket for the file name. example user needs calc access you setup calc but bug in system is not also giving user read and write access. Thus you can individually add this to the group in provisioning area in shared services. in EAS goto File open- editors create/run script with
alter user 'userID' Add application_access_type Planning;
alter user 'userID' add application_access_type Essbase; to add user to the environment if error you need to refresh eas first then run maxl script for planning you also need to go to workspace and select any of your dimensions all your groups ...edit .. migrate identities.. to get group/Users in planning wether adding or removing users. when you do planning changes you need to do database and security filters refresh.

SAP does neither "recommend" nor "deny" any processors.
If you check http://service.sap.com/benchmarks then you get a lot of machines with different CPUs/operating ssytems and database combinations.
Choose the one that suits best for you.

Issue with Message Type Triggering during Inbound Delivery Creation

Currently we are facing issue with message type triggering during inbound delivery creation:
In NACE transaction for Inbound delivery we have 3 custom output types:
Pricing Procedure Used is standard one -> E10001
Z140 Inbound Delivery Create (This should get triggered when IB delivery is created)
Z141 Inbound Delivery Change (This should get triggered when IB Delivery is changed)
Z142 Inbound Delivery Delete(This should get triggered when IB Delivery is deleted).
At present if i check delivery in VL33 -> Extras -> Delivery Output
Both Z140 and Z141 are being triggered during IB delivery creation. While it should be only Z140.
Could you please suggest that are we missing any configuration in SPRO or we need to create any custom routine (requirement) to handle this?

Hi,
There is no fine-tuned control for inbound delivery messages as for Purchase order. Hence I guess to meet your above requirement, you have to go for a custom solution similar to the PO fine tune control settings.

Issue with Data type 'Date' in Hyperion Planning V11.1.2.2

Hi,
I have created members with data type date. However when I save the date, it either disappears or comes up with a random date? Has any one come across this kind of problem before?
If so can you share the fix.

This problem is linked to you not having a consistent setting for your date input type.
So, go to application administration and set the date format to MM/DD/YYYY in application settings and display options, under current application defaults. Then after you have done this as a user go to User Preferences and display options and on the date format select the same. Or remove the Automatically detect.
I have seen this behaviour if you have Automatically Detect on the user preferences

Error in Goods issue with movement type 541

I have created a Sub contracting PO. After that when i m issuing the goods to vendor with movement type 541, its giving the following error: Movement type 541 is not planned for this operation.
Please help me out

You can provide material to vendor either using Transaction codes :
1. MIGO - Transfer Posting - Other - Movement type 541
2. MB1B - Movement type 541 or
3. ME2O - Mention the vendor & execute

Performance issues with Planning data load & Agg in 11.1.2.3.500

We recently upgraded from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.3. Post upgrade we face performance issues with one of our Planning job (eg: Job E). It takes 3x the time to complete in our new environment (11.1.2.3) when compared to the old one (11.1.1.3). This job loads then actual data and does the aggregation. The pattern which we noticed is , if we run a restructure on the application and execute this job immediately it gets completed as the same time as 11.1.1.3. However, in current production (11.1.1.3) the job runs in the following sequence Job A->Job B-> Job C->Job D->Job E and it completes on time, but if we do the same test in 11.1.2.3 in the above sequence it take 3x the time . We dont have a window to restructure the application to before running Job E every time in Prod. Specs of the new Env is much higher than the old one.
We have Essbase clustering (MS active/passive) in the new environment and the files are stored in the SAN drive. Could this be because of this? has any one faced performance issues in the clustered environment?

Do you have exactly same Essbase config settings and calculations performing AGG ? . Remember something very small like UPDATECALC ON/OFF can make a BIG difference in timing..

Issue with paper type when remote printing

Hello
we have an issue with printing from redirected printer
on the local machine Windows 8.1 i have a printer installed and when i try to print from a remote pc to my installed printer on my local pc the paper type is replaced.
on the local printer it was set to letter but on the remote the redirected printer is set to legal.
i try to switch it to letter but it was not kept it switch back to legal.
any adviced will be good ?

Create datasource issue with Planning 9.3.1

The plan is to upgrade to 9.3.3 so will need 9.3.1 first.
I have installed 9.3.1 Planning on win 2003 server and finished the configuration steps as well.
All my hyperion planning databases are on a Oracle RAC system 11g installed on Linux.
The individual SIDs are hyp1 and hyp2 and we use HYP to connect.
I used HYP as SID for all other configuration steps and was successful but when I try to use HYP as SID in the create datasource process I get the error " Relational Database Connection Failed:= :[Hyperion][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-12505 Connection refused, the specified SID (HYP) was not recognized by the Oracle server."
If I use either HYP1 or HYP2 it works fine but does not work with HYP.
Is this an issue with 9.3.1 or will this continue to be an issue with 9.3.3 as well? Any suggestions to use HYP as my SID instead of using HYP1 or HYP2?

That article didnt mention planning but I wonder if it is possible to create a datasource using the standard method pointing to one db instance
Then go into HSPSYS_DATASOURCE and update rdb_server_url to something like (it will need updating to the correct path)

Deployment issue with Planning & EPMA 11.1.2.0

I installed the following applications of Hyperion suite:
Essbase
EPMA
CalcManager
Planning
During configuring i configured each product separately since i wanted to configure separate DB for each of them.
The configuration went with no issues. But now when i log-in into workspace and go to Navigate, i only see administer.
There is no option for EPMA and Planning applications.
Did i miss any step?
I have used IIS as my webserver because Oracle HTTP gave me some error while deploying (unable to initiate OPMN). Is it some issue with IIS
I ahve installed my applications on Win XP SP3, IIS 5.1 and its a 32bit machine

Did you reconfigure the web server after you finished configuring all of the products?

Issue with Mvt type 311

Hi friends,
I have a issue with stock transfer from one storage location to another with transaction MB1B using movement type 311.
When ever we transfer stock for a material, it transfers from unrestricted to quality restricted stock. eg. if a trasfer from 0001 sloc to 0002 sloc, then it will transfer 0001 unrestricted to 0002 quality inspection.
Can plese some one tell me where these settings are maintained?

This is not the SAP Standard Practice,
While transfer of material from one storage location another stoarge location thorugh 311 movement type, the stock type should be same in both the storage locations.
you can directly transfer from Unrestricted 0001 storage location to 0002 Storage location (quality inspection), before that you should match both stock type , through respective movement type 321 or 322.
then you can transfer one storage location to another (stock type should be same)

Strange Issue with Planning 11.1.2

Hi All,
Recently i've installed Hyperion 11.1.2 and i've noticed a strange issue. I've logged in to workspace as administrator, everything is fine. Now i logged off and then login as a user with role as Planner. He should not see Planning Administrator menu right ? But Planner can also able to see the admin menu. Now i've logged off and cleared all the Cookies, history in the Browser, and login as a user now, it has given the correct message as "Application is in maintenance mode, new logins are not allowed" and unable to see Admin menu now. Why it is happening. Is it really a bug or issue with the browser. Even if there is a issue with Browser, it should not work in this way right ? Pls. advice

I have seen issues with other products in the 11.1.2 line retaining permissions with user login/logout on the same browser.
As John says log a case show them how to replicate and continue forward. Likely 11.1.1.2.1 fixes this and it's know however get the case logged to get it in the pipeline in case you've discovered a new defect.
And going forward you will need to ensure if you are logging in as a high access user on a user desktop to exit all browsers and ensure they are not running in task manager before leaving that pc.

Problem: In SAP, IDOC's are processing successfully with status 53 and updating the tables : KONH,KONP successfully.
But Table A957 which is passing against KOTABNR field is not pupulating with the Materials passing.
Can anyone please guide me why the Materials are not populating in the table : A957.

I guess there might be some issue with VAKEY population.
All the key fields in A957 should be concated properly while populating VAKEY. (Leading zeros must be prefixed to the material)

Issue with conition type

hi,
i am facing an issue with a condition type for custom charge in PO.
when i create PO , i manually add gross price and custom conditions in PO .
then i do GR for this PO but now i have to change custom charge in PO, so i reverse GR .
but now i can only gross price in PO .
custom conditions are in display mode only.
how should i make this condition editable?
PO is generated from third party sales order.

Hi,
From your question if I am able to understand correctly is that you are trying to change the value in custom duty condition type.
Custom duty condition types are of delivery cost nature means these conditions have condition category B.
Delivery cost conditions can not be changed in PO once GR done.
Go to M/06, see your condition type, you will find that in condition category it is B, that is why you are not able to change.

Issue with Movement type

Dear Experts,
I am facing issue and in understanding with movement type 103,105 and 106.
Purchase order has been created with 100 pcs
1) Movement type 103 made for block stock.
2) Movement type 105 to remove stock from block stock.
3) Movement type 106 to reverse 105?
When I try to check EKBE table it shows me different entry
Purchase document EBELN compare with Reference document LFBNR
Movement type 103     Reference document is same document number
Movement type 105     Give reference document number as 103
Movement type 106     Give reference document number as 103.
Question - Why Movement type 106 show reference document number of 103.

Please check the table MSEG. for 106, it will have reference for material document of 105
field SMBLN instead of LFBNR
With this field, you can go for the logic.
select all docs from EKBE
Moreover, you can use field MKPF-XBLNR for getting the delivery note field which will be same for cancelation docs. for ex 105 and 106 wil have this same value
this field will make it easy for you to group the GR and their reversals for calculations.
