Issue with PluginProcess, virus or what??

Question

I log onto two credit card sites, both owned by the same bank, almost every day.  Two days ago, for the first time ever, VirusBarrier which I have on my mac, lit up and said,
Virus Barrier detected that the application "PluginProcess" is downloading a Web Threat ("Known web page").  Web Threats use security breaches of Internet applications to take control of your computer. 
It asks me if I want to Add to Trusted Sites, Ignore or Block.  Since I have no idea what it is, of course I say Block.  It still allows me to view my credit card information and then log off…  I use the Safari web browser.  I also tried Firefox and I see the same warning message when I use that browser as well.  I tried other banking and/or credit card websites on which I have accounts and ONLY these two websites are putting up this message.  None of the others do so.  I also did this same login process on my wife's MacBook Pro.  She also has VirusBarrier and I am pretty sure both of our computers are set up precisely the same way (I did the setup on both).  I do NOT see this message, however, when I perform this same action on this other MacBook Pro also running an identical version of Virus Barrier and Mac OS X (10.7.3).
I also have Little Snitch on my mac although I've had it shut off lately..  This morning I turned it on again and went to one of the credit card sites.  It immediately lit up with,
Safari via PluginProcess wants to connect to mpsnare.iesnare.com on TCP port 843
As soon as I told Little Snitch to block mpsnare.iesnare.com, VirusBarrier also stopped reporting this issue…
Little Snitch tells me the "PluginProcess" resides at
/System/Library/StagedFrameworks/Safari/Webkit2.framework/PluginProcess.app/Cont ents/MacOS/PluginProcess
Sure enough if I follow that path I have that PluginProcess at that location.
Can anyone tell me what mpsnare.iesnare.com is and is it something to be concerned about??  Whatever happened just happened a day or two ago and only seems to be an issue when I try to log on to one of two credit card sites (both owned by the same large bank)..   And what is "PluginProcess"??  What does it do and how does it relate to the problem both VirusBarrier and Little Snitch are reporting???

Sorry, but this is an extremely false statement. There are many OS X specific viruses out there! 
You need to research before putting yourself out there.

And there are just so many hits when you google it, there are many links that show investigation in this area and come up with positive results, OSX virus are out there, smart people protect themselves, not so smart people flow with the herd.
Being a fanboi hurts consumers but sure as heck makes the company love ya, but psst they wont GIVE you anything for free for your loyalty. Hey, Hackintosh is a cool sig, is it a fast rig you built?
People need to educate themselves, mpsnare.isnare is malware that is a tracking cookie, it lurks in flash, you can rip it out and block it in your host file, but google these removal methods and how to do them first. DSLReports has some methods.
Hopefully apple will be man enough to leave this post up.
