Issue with Process chains in BI (NW2004s)

Hi,
Recently we have done the system refresh (From Production to Quality Environment) for our BI Environment.
After the refresh, our basis team has performed all the post activities like Source system conversion (BDLS), etc.
But now, we are not able to open any process chains.The system is given the information message "<b>Variant &0000000XXXXXX does not exist</b>"
"Message no. DB612
Diagnosis
You selected variant &0000000XXXXXX for program RSPROCESS.
This variant does not exist.
Procedure
Correct the entry."
Is this because of some post-processing steps got missed out?
Do we have to create the Variants (Or can we copy the variants from the old Quality env? as we have the copy of Quality env. database).
If we can create the variants, please let us know the procedure for the same.

I have checked for the variants in the production system for the program RSPROCESS(in transaction SE38). But nothing exists.
When I checked with the Basis team, they mentioned that the tables VARI, VARIT and VARID are copied from the (old)QA system and now they have imported these tables into the QA system after the refresh.
I have never created any variants. Please let me know the procedure to create the variants in SE38.
The process chains are working fine in our Dev and Prod environments. Will copying the tables(VARI, VARID and VARIT) from  production will help us?
Is this due to some transports need to be moved from Dev to QA again? How can I find the requests?
Please let me know your suggetion.

    Hi,
    I have observed the behavior of changing technical name for DTP but still I think your process chain should not become inactive due to this.  I think process chain somehow adjust the new technical name but anyways you should be able to change the DTP in process chain directly in production system.
    If that is not possible you can just try re-transporting it.

  • DTp issue in process chain

    HI guys,
    I have an issue with DTP in process chain.
    Actually we have a process cahin in quality as well as in development and production,the structure of chain in production and development is same but the structure in quality is not matching.we are getting 1 additional DTP in the chain in quality system .when we run the chain it get fail at the additional DTP,and the process cahin get stopped.
    now iam not able to find out wher from this additional DTP came and how to find out wher exactly it is from and how to restart the chain.
    can anybody help me out?Its very urgent for me.

    Hi,
    I have asked u to deschedule the process chain and then Check the Process chain using the Check View..
    I think that this is a dummy process which has got added when u have done the transport.
    Check if u can see the error DTP when u check.. then u can delete this DTP as this is a Dummy one.. and then link the processes if the link breaks bcz of this... and then check the PC again, and activate the same..
    Finally u can use PC after this..

  • Small issue in Process Chain

    I have small problem in Process chain.
      1)Start
      2)Load  :
      3)activate : Always
    when i ran my PC ,due to some problem my Load Process type got fail.
      But after that i have actiavte Process type(PT) which should run whether Load PT is in success or fails .
    But it got stuck due to message "Status Change of Process LOADING ZPAK_EFAJ6WFZPJPA7MWVSZXETN4PE.
    Save Status and Trigger Events if Appropriate"
    with two option yes and no.
    when i click on yes then only it goes .
    But if i would run and nobody around then i would gets stuck at that point only .
    Is there any solution for that !!

    But I have given an example. Why that message box comes.
    Can’t we suppress automatically?
    Suppose had I been have a process type which send a mails after load status whether it fails or success at that point this could be an issue ??.
    So if it would be stuck like this then it could not send a mail.

    Hi,
    I have a decision variant for my process chain:
    It should be successful when it is 5th working day of month. If the 5th working day of the month is friday, it should be failed..
    Can you please help me to build the formula in Decision variant.

    When I use the below formula in decision variant, I found that it is passing on 5th working day and 6 th and 7th days.
    WORKINGDAY_MONTH( Current Date, 'FI', '' ) = 5 AND DATE_WEEKDAY1( Current Date ) 5
    But my requirement is "it should pass only on fifth working day and if it is friday it should not pass"
    Previously it worked fine. now we are facing issue with this decision varinat..
    Can some please suggest how to fix this

  • Urgent: Problem with Process chain.

    Hello Experts,
    In my process chain I have an ABAP Program which produces an error message:
    RFC server sapftp cannot be started - 1 : Programm nicht über RFC gestartet. Kein Rückruf möglich.Message no. CMS057
    Manually I executed this program with out any problems. But this program was not responding via Porcess chain.
    After finishing the successfull load this program copies the files from Application Server in to our Central Project  Directory to archive the data and deletes the file from Application server.
    Any suggestion please...........

    Hi Sailekha,
    When the program was excuted through the Process Chain the Program was not able to access the Application Server, this could happen sometimes due to RFC issues.
    Did you try repeating the Program from the Process Chain???
    Is this issue happened for the first time???
    Depending on these questions you can decide on whether it was an RFC issue.
    If such is not the case check for the next run of Process Chain and also check for the variant assinged in Maintain Variant of this ABAP Program in this Process Chain.

  • Issues in Process chain after Transporting to Q

    Hi All
    I have couple of issues with my process chain (in Q). We have recently upgraded from BW3.5 to BI7.0. After upgrade i have a change made to one of my Process chain. i have transported it successfully to Q system. I have collected all the related objects associated with the change in the transport. But when try to see the changes changes in the process chain in Q system i have the following issues.
    1. i do not see my changes in display mode. But i am able to see all the changes if i go to change mode (this looks weird and i dont know why)
    2. i am unable to schdule the process chain in Q system as i was able to do earlier. Now it is asking for Transport when i try to schedule the process chain. this was not the case earlier.
    3. In the transport i also collected a newly created infopackage and added it to the Process chain. But i do not see any link between the infopackage and the process chain (it was supposed to have a link as it had in DEV), i mean when i go to  infopackage it used to give me a mesage saying the infopackage is already available in Process chain which i got in DEV.
    All the above cases were working per normal in DEV systems tested and were collected as required in the transports and moved to Q
    Please let me know ASAP if any of you have encountered similar problems before and have solutions. i saw couple of related threads (some suggested to directly activate the process chain in Q system by opening the Q systems as an alternate) but could not find a solution

    1. Display mode shows only the active version of Process chain. When you go into change mode, it displays the inactive version (if any available). Make sure you activate the process chain in the change mode. Then the chain you see in display and change mode will be in sync.
    2. When you try to schedule, the Process chain will be activated as well. If your Q system is prompting for transport then probably the system is open for changes. If you want to modify process chains in Q and P systems, make appropriate Object Changeability settings in Transport connection in Q and P systems and make sure the system is closed for changes (SCC4).
    3. Use Transport connection to collect the objects required for Process chain. After transport, check the transport log and make sure all the objects are imported successfully.

    Could any one clarify me in the following aspect .I have a process which is having
    4 infopackages updating to a single ods and then in to a cube I copnverted it in to
    a process chain evry thing seems to be fine how ever one issue is ther .I am not
    getting any repeat option on the failed infopackage .But if the ods activation fails
    then am able to see the repeat option on that activation process.
    How can we get the repeat option on the failuere info package .
    Other than segis weblog is ther any other option to restart the process chain.3

    Hi..
    I have worked on process chains..and I too have seen this..that when chain fails..often repeat option does not appear at infopackage step..
    but then this does not cause an issue..as I simply double click on the step..open the infopackage and run it..
    Siggi's blog is very useful..I havent found another method to kick off a chain from the failed step..(other than repeat)..
    sometimes..u manually correct the failure..but the process chain step remains RED..
    as per the blog..change the field on the table..so that step goes GREEN and kicks off further steps of the chain..

  • Issue in process chain (urgent)

    Hi guru's,
    i used customized abap program process type which was already created by somebody.
    i linked this process type to 2 process types based on the success and failure.
    on success of this process type it connects to another program process type , here there is no problem.
    if it is success.
    on failure i connected to attribute change run,
    but it is not continuing , it is stucking there.
    when i check in log view it is giving a msg " status of program xxxx is changed , do you want save the changes ?"
    if i press "yes" chain is continuing.
    but we dont want this , as this chain is scheduled in mid night
    user cannot interact to this msg.
    we want process chain run even if it is failed to next step without any user interaction. please help

    It seems to be there is problem with links.
    Remove the links and relink the process steps.
    Now activate and schedule the process chain.
    I have experienced the similar problem in past.

  • Issue with processing time of JDBC receiver adapter

    Hi all,
    We are using PI 7.1 EHP1.
    We have an issue with JDBC receiver adapter taking too much time to process messages.
    We are using XML SQL format message protocol with INSERT_UPDATE as the document format.
    Each message can contain multiple records, i.e. 1 single message can result in many updates/inserts.
    Currently, time taken to process in 6-12 secs which is quite high considering the messages are not very large in size.
    We sent the statements to Oracle DBA to see if anything about the queries being used is causing issues. Awaiting inputs.
    In the mean time, wanted to check if there is anything that can be done from PI side that will help us improving the processing time.

           i think the main cause is  query taking long time to execute in DataBase.
          -> increase the read time and response time in the JDBC receiver adapter.
      In the advanced mode table section of sender channel and receiver channel configurations, we can set driver properties for each DB connection. Any such property would have to contain prefix 'driver:'(with out quotes).
    For Oracle Database JDBC thin driver 10.2.0.3 version, the property oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout helps to set read timeout while reading from the socket. Also for setting login time out in Oracle, we use oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT. To set these two properties use as follows: driver:oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout 1000 driver:oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT 1000 The TimeOut Driver properties like ReadTimeout and CONNECT_TIMEOUT are in milliseconds.

  • Issue in Process Chain Status

    We have various process chains for daily loads. Among those some of the process chain shows the status as red, but the data loaded successfully in the targets. And subsequent chains are not getting triggered.
    Can someone let me know the solution for this please?

    May be some of the process type got failed in the process chain, and it might got sucessfull only after manually resolving or may be after repeating from the Process chain, In these cases some times the process chain entire status turns to RED.
    You can forcefully change the process chain to Green.
    copy the variant and Instance of the process chain(or select the last process type in the process chain)
    goto SE11-->Enter the table RSPCPROCESSLOG and execute --> now enter the copied variant and instance here and execute, It'll give you a new pop up with a LOG id, copy this log id as well.
    Now gto se37>Functional module>RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH execute and the enter the copied vaiant, instance and logid, and also enter G (sucesfully completed) in I_State and now execute.

  • BW Statistics query with process chain run times.

    Hello Guru's,
    We are using BW 3.5 system and the client have asked if it is possible to create a report in BW based out of the Statistics Cube that shows the current status of the Process Chains .i.e. the start/end time of specific process chains along with some sort of Exceptions to show successfully completed chains as 'Green', chains finishing with errors as 'red' and chains presently running as 'Yellow'.
    I have seen such a report in my previous project, but that was using BI 7.0, I am not able to find such Statistics Info Cube in BW 3.5 which meets my requirements.
    Has anybody created such a report in BW 3.5? If yes, would very much appreciate if you can share your way of approach with me.

    Yes you can achieve this functionality using BW Technical Content. I already implemented this for one of our client. We have some Standard InfoProviders where in wee can get the Start and End time of chains. You can build a query on these Cubes & Multiprovider and there in create exceptions to reflect which step got completed with in stipulated time limit and which took longer than usual......u can display those time statistics in different colour.
    Here are soem cubes names from BW Technical content which may meet your requirement specification:
    1. 0TCT_C01
    2. 0TCT_C02
    3. 0TCT_CA1
    4. 0TCT_C23
    5. 0TCT_C21

    New to Adobe, I have had several issues with consumers images. I can not find how to save as jpeg and keep photo intergrity. Either the processer (local pharmacy, big name store.. etc) is cropping my images badly. I have been told this is my problem when I save in jpeg format. How do i protect my image? Resize with the pixels? Please help

    The most likely problem is that your camera is shooting in a different aspect ratio that you are trying to print in. This usually shows up by either cutting the tops/bottoms off or by cutting the sides off. Alternatively you may get a border top/bottom or sides.
    If that is the problem, you will need to crop the photo before getting it printed.
    So that we can help, can you please answer some questions.
    1) What operating system are you using?
    2) What version of PSE are you using?
    3) What are the pixel dimensions of the photo or what camera are you using?
    4) What size of photo are you trying to print (6" x 4"?) ?

  • Automate "Regeneration of reports" with process chain

    Hi All,
    From RSRT we normaly regenerate reports. But to automate this I found a program RSR_GEN_DIRECT_ALL_QUERIES. I created a Process chain, included an ABAP program process type, used the program (RSR_GEN_DIRECT_ALL_QUERIES) created a variant to regenerate a particular query (Gave the MPR and the query technical name in the variant), to execute the same in background. But executing this Process chain, the first step itself which just contains one query, is running for almost half an hour and eventually getting cancelled with a short dump "Export_too_much_data". When I check the dump, it says its reading a lot of programs and tables so the dump.
    But regenerating the same query from RSRT gets completed in less than a minute. Can someone help me out if there is a different program to automate the regeneration of reports or guide me if I'm doing this in a wrong way?

  • Help with Process Chain - Stop remaining Processes if Package returns 0 rec

    Hi, i have a Process Chain that starts with a single InfoPackage.  Then it goes on to distribute the load to multiple DSO's and then onto DSO Activation.  I would like the Process Chain to stop right after the InfoPackage if no records are loaded. 
    Is this possible using the decision variant somehow?  Any details on how to achieve this are greatly appreciated!

    The request is goin to red status when 0 records are pulled in. There is a option in info package so that even when 0 records come in the request status would be green.
    Open your info package , then in the menu goto "Scheduler > Treatment of warnings > Select Green" so that in future even if the info package pulls 0 records the status would be green . then the activation step in the process chain would also be carried out smoothly.
    In this way you need not manually change any request status to green . Saves you time.
