Issue with PSE 9 Editor

Running PSE 9 on a new iMAc with 8 Gig memory, 1 TB hard drive. When trying to save an edited file, the Editor consistently becomes unresponsive when I try to close the saved file requiring that I force Editor to close. Not only with not Editor close the saved file but the Editor cannot be closed normally.

I appreciate the help, I found out how to change paper type and it seems to work great. The remaining question, when I've finished editing an image and attempt to "Save" or "Save As" the system shows a box "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 quit unexpectedly". If I go to "Reopen" it reopens the PSE at the organizer level and hasn't saved the image. Also at this level, "Save" is grayed out and unavailable. I sure appreciate someone that seems to know a lot more than the "Techs" at Adobe.Don

The second thing, opening the print dialog box does not open the same one as Windows, and allows no selection of paper type.
That is just a difference between macs and windows. On a mac, you choose the paper and print quality in the OS X system print window that opens after you click the Print button in the PSE window:

If you only have the little stub window, click the triangle to the right of the printer's name to expand the dialog box to see all the menus.

Out of memory issues with PSE 8

I am using PSE 8 64 bit on a Dell desktop computer with Intel (R) Core (TM) i7 CPU 920 at 2.67 GHz. with 8 GB of ram. My operating system is Windows 7, 64 bit.
My problem is that I get out of memory or insufficient ram messages in PSE Editor with some PSE tools when my CPU resource utilization reaches 37 to 38%. In other words, even though my computer is telling me I have almost 4 GB of memory left, PSE is saying it does not have enough memory to complete the operation. It looks to me as if PSE is only using 4GB of my 8 GB of Ram. Is this true and what do I need to do to allow PSE to utilize all of my available ram.

Thanks, that does answer what the problem is, but not necessarily a solution. I like working with 8 to 10 pictures (files) in the editor tray at a time. I make whatever changes needed to each and then group 4 or 5 into an 8.5 X 11 collage. Each picture in the collage is a separate layer and each separate picture may multiple layers of its own. I print the collage on 8.5 x 11 photo paper and then put the page in a photo album. I like the pictures in different sizes, orientations and sometimes shapes, so the album and multiple picture options offered in PSE are not much help. My process eats a lot of memory, which I mistakenly thought, my 8 gb of ram would solve.
Anyway, now that I know the limitations, I can adjust the process to avoid the memory issue and hopefully, a future version of Elements will accommodate 64 bit.
Maybe, I am wondering, do I need to look at other programs or am I missing a PSE function that would make my chore easier.

Elements 7 issues with opening editor

I purchased Photoshop Elements 7 last year for my previous computer, however i recently got a new computer. It is a Dell with Windows Vista. So I downloaded Elements 7 on my new computer and when i try to use the Edit portion of the program I get an error message that says, "Adobe Photoshop Elements (Editor) has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it several times. Can any please help find a solution? I will be angry if i wasted $100 on this program that does not work... Solutions?

Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the PSE Editor might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash. Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the problem:

Any Invalid Serial Number Installation Issue With PSE 12 - PE 12 Windows or Mac ?

Today I went from Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 tryouts to the purchased boxed versions that came with two installation discs. One of the discs was for Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 Windows and the other for these versions on Mac.
On Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit desktop computer, I was hit with Invalid Serial Number for the installation of Photoshop Elements 12 which I did first. Tried 4X, double and triple checking to make sure this was not "user error". It was not. On the 5th try, the purchased serial number was accepted and the installation went to a successful completion.
Tonight a friend alerted me to reports of similar happening for a lot of Photoshop Elements 12 Mac users. See the link posted at the top of my post.
At no time did I see this problem with Premiere Elements 12 installation from the same disc as for Photoshop Elements 12 installation.
Afterward, I installed these programs with the same installation disc on my laptop computer Windows 8 64 bit, I did not have any problems with either installation.
At this time, I do not know if this Invalid Serial Number is elusive to Photoshop Elements 12 or not.
If anyone is experiencing this problem with Premiere Elements, please let us know.
From the link above, it would appear that Adobe is working on the issue.

In my case, I had the network firewalls and anti-virus disabled when I did the installs of Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit as well as Windows 8 64 bit.
I was fortunate in that a 5th try of the serial number entry for the Photoshop Elements 12 install on Windows 7 64 bit was successful, so I did not have to do the computer restart and retry of the install with the purchased serial number. But, good to keep in mind, just in case.
It is ironic...last time around I got caught up in the Shared Technologies issues with Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 8 64 bit, not Windows 7 64 bit. But, in that case, I did find my way eventually to a successful install on Windows 8 64 bit. This time around it was Windows 7 64 bit where the glitch occurred, but, for me, only for Photoshop Elements 12.
But, could you clarify...are you generalizing that Photoshop Elements 12 Mac Invalid Serial Number is due to server issues and Invalid Serial Number encountered by Photoshop Elements 12 Windows is "online - due to some firewall or network issues"?
Just getting prepared for if and when more questions on Invalid Serial Number might pop up in this forum.

Issue with Form Editor, Payslip

Dear All,
I have an issue in Salary Slip. I am making my own pay slip in form editor and I have made 4 windows for displaying 4 different type of allowances and deductions but when I call the value in window from wagetypes in RT they come up as multiplied by 10. For example, (Please note that I am in Oman and local currency is OMR that uses 3 places after decimal for example 20.300 OMR) An employee has basic pay of 1500.700/- OMR it is coming up as 15007.00/- OMR. The amount in RT is coming fine as 1500.700/- OMR, I have checked it. When I call a wagetype in a single field the value comes out fine so the issue is with values displayed in the Windows.
Can anyone tell me whats going on???

It is already mapped correctly. If I enter a single line Text in HTML Editor, I am getting the same Text after Parsing. But If I enter multiple lines, spaces, new lines, etc., then the Problem.

Issue with condition editor in integration process

Hi,
Now there is the chance to use this feature for the first time.
Seems to be very easy.... No, it isnt!
Variable RETURN (type string) referencing to a field of a message structure is used for this condition:
RETURN!="I001"
So, if the variable does not contain the string I001 the process should use the exception path.
Ok, easy! This works!
But now I have this case to solve with the condition editor.
If the variable does not contain the string I001 OR E002 the process should use the exception path.
So my condition looks like this now:
RETURN!="I001"|RETURN!="E001"
=> If return is NOT I001 OR Return is NOT E001....
Result: semantical check is OK but the process always chooses the exception path now.
Oh, why this?
An alternative RETURN!=("I001"|"E001") does not pass the semantic check.
So I am missing ideas now how to write down the condition for my switch step
as this issue seems to be not discussed in any thread here.
Any help with this strange feature is really appreciated!

for me, your logic is wrong, what you need for your exception receiver is :
=> If return is NOT I001 AND Return is NOT E001....
NON (a OR b) <=> (NON a) AND (NON b).
so for your receiver_ok, you have to use the opposite: so the solution providen by Ramesh, and so to ahve two receiver lines like that:
(Result = "l001" OR Result ="E0011" ) ==> Receiver_ok
<blank_condition (*)> ==> Receiver_Exception
(*) all condition which does not respect the 1st ones: Result = "l001" OR Result ="E0011".

Printing error with PSE editor

My printer is a brother MFC-240C
My computer is a Mac OS X 10.8
My software is adobe printshop elements 10 (the editor part)
When I print a few pages from the editor of a xxxxx.pse, project , I obtain the right printing BUT the program sends thousands of emty pages.
By the time i cancel the tasks, The printer is issuing many empty pages.
What's wrong?

What kind of project?
Are you sayiing that you also get the empty pages when you choose a specific page range, or only when you print the whole PSE file?

Wierd issue with Sample Editor...

Hi again! More questions to use this program efficiently without pulling all my hair out... When I'm using the "time and pitch machine" under Factory in Sample Editor, I've run across an issue. I got a sample to loop accordingly Trimming off the rest of the song in the sample, then I Changed the BPM from about 240 to a new destination of 220 just to shake things up. When I did this, I wasn't too happy with the sound afterall, so I simply chose UNDO from the edit menu.....and now, there is an extra piece of the loop that was added to the end of the loop... that I can't get rid of! Undo can't undo? What gives?
Secondly, It has a function to "pre listen" in the menu of the time machine... yet when I hold the mouse down to preview it... It simpy plays back the exact tempo it was originally without any change reflected. The Help file says some audio hardware it will work with... I'm using a MOTU 2408MK3, I figured this could handle a simple task. Anyone have this issue or suggest anything?

logic need to improve on that, its been like this since it was first introduced
it works well with short samples/loops and it works well with different algorithm
so try all of them
also you can turn your loops into apple loops, it works better sometimes like that
the other choice is to export that loops and import it back again, so that logic can activate the follow the tempo on it

Issue with HTML Editor of XML Form Builder.??

Hi All,
We are using HTML Editor of XML Form Builder to enter the Content. This content will be displayed to teh User by parsing these XML Files generated by the XML Form Builder Application.
But, when we parse the XML, the other field values are coming properly, except HTML Editor field Content.
This is working fine, only when I enter a Single line Text. If I enter some Spaces, New lines, Paragraphs, etc. the XML Parsing is not returning any Content..
And also when I use Text Area, the total content is returning as a Single Paragraph, Even if I enter multiple lines, spaces,.
If anyone has Idea on this, Please Help me to solve this Issue ASAP.

Framing issues with PSE 8 on Mac

Hi there,
I'm running PSE 8 under OS X 10.6.2 and I'm having problems with frames. I.e. when I try to apply a dropped white frame a second set of scroll bars for horizontal and vertical appear along the right and bottom of my image. I have to minimise the image and bring it back out of the Project Bin in order to correct. Has any other Mac user had the same problem and found a fix please.
Previously used PSE6 were this feature worked perfectly.

Thanks for your comments... and I've used other frame styles in the past as you have suggested, but not too impressed with the way in which they are applied.
Regards the need to park the image first... I does work your right...but I have to ask why should I have to do it? Only had PSE8 a few weeks and have found that apart from one or two features its (to me) a backward step from version 6 on the Mac. But using it more may change that.... however form day one I disliked the back and forward arrows on the righthand side of the screen...whats the need to move them when the tool bar is on the left!!

Issues with premiere editor

When I start up Adobe premiere elements 13, I have to sign in nonstop to use editor, and even when I do sign in. It wont let me use editor. It keeps saying that the product isnt registered. What do I do about this? I've registered, but it keeps happening...

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running on? Did you install from downloaded installation files or from an installation disc?
Based on my prior experience, activation is the prime factor not registration, and it is automatic registration that comes along with a successful product activation. And, you need an Internet connection for product activation.
Do you have a good Internet connection?
Did you install the program with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Are you getting a dialog box that says "License this product" or "Continue trial"?
If you do, click on "License this product" on follow the instruction which will include entering your product's serial number at some point.
Did you restart the computer after the product installation? Can you get into the Elements Organizer 13 to work there?
Let us start here and then see if we can sort out the details that will lead to resolution of the problem.

Issue with Variable editor in BI 4.1 Webi

Hello Team,
Here i am with another possible bug maybe in BI 4.1 ,SP2.
In order to avoid the 1.#INF error which is a bug in BI 4,1 SP2, i found the solution of applying the formula If IsError(Measure) then "" else [Measure] and this seemed to work.
I now have some measures with complex names and when i try to write a similar formula as above in BI 4.1 based on those measures with complex names, i get the below error but the same works fine in BI 4.0 SP2 and SP5 versions. Below is an example:
Formula i'm trying to write:
=If IsError([SDV Cases].[Actual, 3 TY Mar Current Year]) Then "" Else [SDV Cases].[Actual, 3 TY Mar Current Year]
I'm using a lot of queries in this report and hence the extension "SDV Cases".**
Formula in BI 4.0:

The same error is seen when i try to just create a variable on top of the existing measures in BI 4.1,SP2 with such complex names and just click on validate without even applying any If then else formulas.It works fine for dimensions though with simpler names. See the screenshot below:
So is this a possible bug in BI 4.1,Sp2 and is there a resolution to this or is it expected to be resolved in BI 4.1,SP3 like the other bugs?

These really aren't web dynpro abap questions. Web Dynpro ABAP is just the frame around the BSP and you are really asking questions about the use of the BTF within BSP. I think these questions would be better suited to the BSP forum. I will move this thread to that forum. However before I do, I should warn you that such iFrame integrate is not recommended. The iFrame is actually deprecated in 7.0 and 7.01 (but does return to support in 7.02). You should note that the iframe has no session management and the BSP within the iFrame will have a separate user session from the surrounding Web Dynpro ABAP. The recommendation for such integration is to use the Portal or the NWBC and integrate these ase two different iViews within one Portal Page. In 7.02, you could also use the Page Builder and a URL CHIP to perform this integration.

Issues with PSE 11, 12 and now 13....and ZERO SUPPORT FROM ADOBE...what a shocker

PSE 11 and 12 just crash non stop after i accepted an Adobe Air update. i am right in the middle of trying to create 29 custom soccer porters for HS seniors (all volunteer work, this is not a paid job). Adober Support were absolutely USELESS! Claim PSE 11 AND 12 are no longer suported.
In desperation I purchased PSE13 to try and start fresh. i converted the catalog...but now, NOTHING PRINTS! It has bogus printers in the dropdown and I get an error message - when selecting my real printer..that there is a default printer error
please help!

Is your default printer set properly in Windows in general? Do you have several old printer drivers that are for printers that are no longer connected?
And, I wonder if it would help to reset PSE’s preferences, by holding down Ctrl-Alt-Shift as you start PSE until you get the question about whether to delete/reset PSE’s preferences, then pick Yes.
