Issue with remote printing using adobe reader

We have a customized forms, with very simple javascript to print document on a remote server (printing to a pdf to tiff converter)
//-----------------Do not edit the XML tags--------------------
//<AcroForm>
//<ACRO_source>MAIL:Annot1:MouseUp:Action1</ACRO_source>
//<ACRO_script>
/*********** belongs to: AcroForm:MAIL:Annot1:MouseUp:Action1 ***********/
var pp = this.getPrintParams();
pp.printerName = \\\\server name\\location;
pp.interactive = pp.constants.interactionLevel.automatic;
this.print(pp);
app.alert("Document sent to printer",3);
app.alert("Please close window after each use",3);
//</ACRO_script>
//</AcroForm>
under windows XP and adobe 9.4 the systme works perfectly.
under windows xp and adobe X or XI, it looks like the document goes to the printer but there is nothing.
under windows 7 and adobe 9.4 it looks like the document goes to the printer but there is nothing.
I can easily map tot he server name\location from windows 7 machine.
debugging did not help (no errors were produced, it is as if the document jut vanished.
Any help will be appreciated.
thank you!
Greg

Hi,
What's the operating system of remote PC we log onto? Here, I am not sure that this can help but we can give a try by disabling the following policy setting:
Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Printer Redirection\Use Remote Desktop Easy Print printer driver first
Regarding this point, the following KB article can be referred to for more information.
The client printer may print the documents by using an incorrect paper size if the "Use Remote Desktop Easy Print printer driver first" policy is enabled

    i am trying to print using adobe reader and suddenly, i can't. please help.

    Might be helpful to have more details like, what version of Reader, where you are getting the PDF's and what "exactly" happens when you try and print (along with the steps taken to get to that point). And it sounds like Allstate has something to do with it. Might be helpful to know where they come in.

  • I am having issues with printing using Adobe Reader

    I am currently using adobe reader and have not been able to print with my HP DeskJet 3050, I have both reinstalled my drivers and Reader, yet they both will not work.  Every time I click print it brings up the printing options screen, from there I have tried the following:  I have tried printing the document as an image, changing the language to see if the printer itself could not handle the printing language and I have also tried to save the document as a preprint and printing it from there yet it is still not working.  Here are all of the notes from Reader showing the build and features:

  • Can not Printing using Adobe Reader V9.0, OS is  Windows Vista

    Help Me Please! I can not print in Adobe Reader. This is what is happening: I select print, the status bar shows pages being sent to the printer, the printer Hicups, clicks, clangs, clunks, and Burps and nothing comes out; No error, No copy. I'm running V9.0 but the same thing happened in version 8. I thought it was something to do with the down-load. What gives?

    Sorry for disappearing; gotta make a livin'
    No, I haven't looked for an updated driver for my printer but I will give that a try. I was able to print using the "print as image" function but it really bogged my system down to pre-Pentium days. I'll let you know if the driver update works. Thanks for reaching out!

  • Duplex printing using Adobe Reader XI, v11.0.04

    I am using Adobe Reader XI, v11.0.04 on my MacBook Air (IOS 10.9 (13A603) Mavericks.  When I go to print out a document there is no option for duplex (two sided) printing.  I get a message that says this is a property of the operating system and upon sending me to another entry form (presumably from the operating system) there is a place to check "black & white" and "2 sided" printing but when I check "OK" it goes back to the Adobe Reader form for printing and will not priint out using 2 sided printing.  Kindly advise how to do this.  I am tired of wasting paper.

    Hi wilsco ,
    Thank You for posting on the forums. Do you have Acrobat and Reader both of them installed on the same system?
    Kindly help with the exact version of both Reader and Acrobat.
    You can try printing the file as an image by going to the advanced settings in print dialouge box.
    Try updating the driver for your printer as well.
    Thanks,

  • Fillable forms with radio buttons (Using Adobe Reader X)

    I have two questions: First question, I have a fillable form with "yes" and "no" radio buttons. Currently the radio defaults to answer "yes", but I would like both the "yes" and "no" fields to be empty, which would allow the user to select an answer on his or her own.  Second question, is there a way to make an answer required before moving on to the next question?
    (Using Adobe Reader X)
    Message was edited by: mp2athome

    You need to check and make sure that the options  for each radio button do not have the "Button is checked by default" selected.
    You can make all the following answer radio buttons "read only" and only after one of the choices for the preceding question has been answered are the radio buttons for the next question are write enabled.
    You will need Acrobat to create the form.

  • Why do prepopulated forms not open up correctly to be read and printed using Adobe Reader?

    We are creating forms that we send to clients. Generally the clients are using Adobe Reader to open the pdf's. Why can they not see prepopulated data on the forms. They need to click the area where the data is to see it. When they attempt to print it, it comes out blank.

    Hi,
    Did you use Acrobat to create the prepopulated forms? If you did, please submit your question to Acrobat forum. The team there can help you.
    Thanks,

  • Issues with Form printing using a 3rd party software!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

    Hi All,
    We are printing our month end AR statements using Xerox DP100 printers. We are using a SAP Script as the layout form. Everything works perfectly alright when a direct print is issued to the printer. But the scenario here is the statements are sent to a 3rd party software so that the statements can be saved in their repository and made available to be viewed and printed whenever necessary. Now the issue is when this 3rd Party Software(TPS) reads the SAP generated PCL from its report store on the unix host and generates a PDF File that it presents to the web client user for (re)printing via his/her PC it appears that the TPS or Websphere or Adobe is performing a font substituion - replacing the Univers font(used in R/3) which is not loaded on the unix host with a different font(with different sizing and/or behavior).
    As a result the horizontal and vertical positioning generated by SAP(which is correct for the Univers font) is 'wrong' for the substituted font. The fixed size fields print OK but gradually move to the right. The varying size amount columns do not align correctly and fall off the right side of the page.
    Can anyone give me pointers on what can be done to arrest this error.
    Does the font need to be loaded on the unix host or the font used in the form be changed?
    Regards,
    Karthik

    Karthik,
              Sap script behaves differently for different printers. You will have to change margins when you change your printer/software accordingly.

  • Unable to open pdf created with Acrobat Pro using Adobe Reader X

    Files created with some Adobe Professional applications such as Acrobat Pro ensure the file is small by excluding font information from the file.  Simple pdf creation applications embed the font in the file, which makes for transportability between apps but does make the files big.
    The problem i have experienced is that Adobe Reader X is one of the simple app varieties, so is unable to open, print, or read files created using Adobe Acrobat Pro..
    i'd welcome any help in (a) finding a free app that opens these 'pro pdf' files, OR (b) an option setting in Acrobat Pro which includes the font information in the file - or both!

    There are so many things wrong, around a tiny grain of truth, it really isn't worth examining. Not at this stage if you are more interested in getting things working.  It may be worth asking you though, since Reader doesn't even launch for you, how you came to focus on font embedding being the cause.
    Ok, Reader doesn't launch. Suppose you start Reader FIRST. Then use File > Open on your PDF.

  • Printing using Adobe Reader not working

    I am using .NET to open .pdf file with "Print" option. This should print that .pdf file on default printer of the system. But in reality, when I run my program, it opens blank Adobe Reader window and just hangs there, no page gets printed. My C# code looks like following:
    Process process1 = new Process();
    process1.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true;
    process1.StartInfo.Verb = "Print";
    process1.StartInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Normal;
    process1.StartInfo.FileName = completeFileName;
    process1.Start();
    Above code could also be written in vbScript.
    Can anyone let me know why Acrobat Reader does not print any page?
    Thank you in advance.

    The paper trays are both 8" x 11". The top tray has checks, the bottom tray has plain paper. When I go to print, the print dialog defaults to the last saved setting which is supposed to use the lower tray, however when checking the setting it says upper tray. I have to switch to either another setting or to the Standard setting, then back to my saved setting in order for the paper tray to be set correctly on the lower tray. I would expect that whatever setting the saved setting has, it would change to the necessary settings and use it instead of using a default settings. I don't know if this is a bug in the OS X or the HP driver.
    For example. I go to print in Safari, the printer says OfficeJet 7140xi, the Preset setting says OfficeJet (Lower Tray). When I check Paper Type/Quality, the paper tray is set to Upper Tray. I switch the Preset to Standard and back to OfficeJet (Lower Tray) and check the Paper Type/Quality and now the paper tray is set to Lower Tray. So, initially, when the print dialog comes up, it ignores the Preset settings and defaults to some other settings and manually you have to switch the Preset to another setting and back again in order to get the correct settings.

  • Printing using Adobe Reader XI

    When I was running Adobe Acrobat my documents printed almost immediately. However, since I downloaded Adobe Reader XI and try to print a pdf document it becomes a slow process. I am using a HP wireless printer and from the moment I hit print it will take a couple of minutes or longer before it actually prints the document. Any suggestions?

    Hi wilsco ,
    Thank You for posting on the forums. Do you have Acrobat and Reader both of them installed on the same system?
    Kindly help with the exact version of both Reader and Acrobat.
    You can try printing the file as an image by going to the advanced settings in print dialouge box.
    Try updating the driver for your printer as well.

  • Issue with .GIF images in Adobe Reader 10

    Hello,
    It seems when you open our PDFs (created in Adobe Acrobat 4) with Adobe Reader X (version 10), .GIF images appear to be greyed out. This doesn't happen with .JPGs, only GIFs.
    Anyone have any insight into why this is happening? It is causing a number of issues for our clients.

    We our using Acrobat 4 within our application, which creates PDF files that are emailed out to the general public, so we cannot control the computer that it is opened on. From troubleshooting, the images appear fine in Reader 6,7,8 and 9.

  • Issues with pagination when using Adobe table with Web dynpro for ABAP

    Hi All,
    I am facing strange issue with table text.
    I have three cols in table, one is of type Char255 and other two cols are of type string.
    The text in the col 1 is displayed perfectly but in other two cols of type string whenever we have pagination the text in table is getting truncated and in next page new row starts.
    Could you please tell me the settings that will enable flowing of text in the row of table to next page.
    Thanks,
    Arti.

    Check the properties of the text field you use for those columns (if you want to control it on this level) or check the same attribute for the row subform (one level up control): "allow page break within content".
