Issue with resetting password on AD

Hi guys,
I have configured Access manager for authentication with ADS (active directory server) but with i reset the users password on ADS and try logging with the old password it still gets authenticated is this a bug in ADS? I faced the same issue when i used Jxplorer to connect to ADS.

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) modifies NTLM network authentication behavior. After you install Windows Server 2003 SP1, domain users can use their old password to access the network for one hour after the password is changed. Existing components that are designed to use Kerberos for authentication are not affected by this change.
How to change the lifetime period of an old password
Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
To change the lifetime period of an old password, add a DWORD entry that is named OldPasswordAllowedPeriod to the following registry subkey on a domain controller:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
To do this, follow these steps:
1.     Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2.     Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
3.     On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4.     Type OldPasswordAllowedPeriod as the name of the DWORD, and then press ENTER.
5.     Right-click OldPasswordAllowedPeriod, and then click Modify.
6.     In the Value data box, type the value in minutes that you want to use, and then click OK.
Note The lifetime period is set in minutes. If this registry value is not set, the default lifetime period for an old password is 60 minutes.
7.     Quit Registry Editor.

Issue with Reset Password from Active Directory Integration Pack

I seem to be having some issues with a subscription in the Reset Password activity from the Active Directory Integration Pack. The "User Password" field refuses to take a value from a subscription provided earlier in a Generate Random
Text activity. As you will see in the screenshot below, when the Reset Password activity runs, the User Password value is blank.
Any idea why this might be happening? It looks like a possible bug with the Active Directory Integration Pack.

I think this is not a bug, this should be by design because the password is a secure string. If you look for the Published data for Reset User Password activity at
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh553463.aspx it is not listed there as well.
If you need the the string (e.g. to send it via email) use the
data from the "Generate Random Text" Activity.

I am having issues with my password signing onto my phone and my iPad

I have been having huge issues with my apple Id and password every time I enter in my apple Id and password it will not accept my password and I tried changing my password and when I go to use it it says it is wrong .I am so tired of having to change a password for all my apple products It is ridiculous. Ever since I went to the apple store and they had me use that darn ICloud everything has been screwed up. I never used I cloud for anything before and now I cannot do any updates on my iPhone or iPad or even my mac laptop. I do not know what to do can any one help?
I also have been having issues of an old apple Id That I had once which I no longer have any more and Have not had constantly pops up and i do not know how to get rid of it

Reset the iPad and see if that helps. Close all apps first.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, you should probably restore the iOS software. Instructions are in this kb article.

If that fails, you are pretty much out of options and you should take your iPad to an Apple Store. They might be able to use their magic to restore the device for you, or if it is a hardware problem they will explain your options to you at that point.

Issue with enabling password in portal

Dear all,
I have enabled "Logon Problems? Get Support" link in portal, so when they click on Get Support and enter they login id and email click on submit, they get mails with newly created password.
now the issue is they do not want mails with password to be sent to they mails. they wanted some security questions on clicking Get Support and when answered correctly, password should be created on the same screen itself without sending mails.
how to achive this?
or is there any ways i can restrict user to reset password only once per day through password mailing system.

Hi,
you can achieve this by doing a custom application on WDJ, not sure any standard config exists or not.
Develop a web dynpro application and the security question as any existing field (like email) in our UME. verify with UME and then display the password on the screen.

Can powershell be used to provide a list of people with reset password ability?

We are trying to tighten our security, but thanks to the environment we are in this is a bigger task than it should be. As part of this I have been asked to get a list of users who have the ability to reset other users passwords. there are the obvious suspects,
domain admins, service desk etc., but we also appear to have random people who can do this because of a requirement during test or development stages way back. Is there a way to get this, I looked at using powershell but there doesn't seem to be much out there
to give me a pointer, things like ADManager+ do not work, when I try to search on permissions it sits there doing nothing then crashes so I have now turned to powershell.
Is there a way to build a function using powershell that can do this or is there some third party cmdlet or app that will provide me this info?
Any help gratefully accepted

I sounds to me like some users may have received the Reset Password delegated privilege.

Bought CS Extension Builder 2 - having issues with username/password

I recently purchased a monthly subscription to Adobe CS Extension Builder 2.0 (see below) after my trial version expired. I am using it with Flash Builder 4.6 and SDK 4.6. When I installed the retail version of CS Extension Builder 2.0, and created a new Extension Builder project (or used an old one), it gave me the following error: "Please log in with your Adobe ID to use Adobe Creative Suite Extension Builder". I don't see a place where you can log into Adobe or input a password. I looked online and found this forum message: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4793080#4793080, which indicated that there was an issue with the retail version and a fix was soon to follow. I tried to use the software update feature in Flash Builder, but it did not help. Will you please provide me with this fix or advise me on how I can continue to use CS Extension Builder 2.0?

Based on my knowledge, except for those default groups users, such as domain admins and enterprise admins and so on, have reset password ability for other users, we can use delegation control to give other common users permissions to reset password for others,
to view or delete Active Directory Delegated Permissions, please go through the below article:

Issue with reseting my password

I just format one of my computer, then when I reinstall firefox and sync, I forgot my password. So I used the service to recover a new password.
But it's appear I still not receive a mail on my two email address used for the moment.
What can I do?

Issue with installing password sync on Windows 2008

I have installed pwd sync 64 bit on Windows 2008. Configured it in direct mode (no jms). But when I change the password of a user it is not syncing with the IdM. We have the 32 bit pwd sync working fine on Win 2003. Is there any special steps for installing, configuring 64 bit pwd sync on Win 2008. Thanks. Jack

Given the error "failed to crack URL" I believe you're hitting an issue we have documented as bug # 21999. Here's the jist of it and a possible way around it.

When installing password sync on a Windows 2008 system, if you are not
logged in as 'Administrator', the installer and the configure applications
may be subject to Windows File And Registry Virtualization (FARV). This may
cause the registry entries for password sync to be written to the user portion
of the registry, rather than the system portion. Subsequently, password sync
will fail with the message "failed to crack URL".
To work around FARV, either run the MSI installer from a privileged cmd.exe
prompt, or run the configure.exe application using the "Run As Administrator"
functionality (right-click on the configure.exe application, select "Run As
Administrator").

Issue with Safari (passwords)

It used to be that when I went to a password site like my Amazon or the Wall Stree Jorunal that I was able to bypass the log in page and go right into the sites. Now whenever I go to a site that requires me to log in I have to go through the log in page. While the autofill does work it still is a hassle to go have to go through a log in every time I want to shop or read the news.

The best way I know of is to re-download the add-on program's installer, then run its uninstaller (usually included in an installer as an option). With programs like that there is usually also a "reset to defaults" option to undo all of the changes that the program makes. It's generally best to use the program itself to revert to previous settings, uninstall the program, and only then trash it.
Since you don't know what the program's name is, I'm not sure what your options are. Hopefully someone else here has suggestions.
Have you checked Safari's cookies settings to make sure it's not as simple as the add-on program turning them off? That's in Safari: Preferences, in the Security tab. Make sure "Accept Cookies" is not set to "Never."

Problems with reset password

The passcode you need is the four digit number that you enter after an Autolock on your device or when you first turn it on. If you can't remember that code you'll have to restore your iPad before you can do the update.

Access to BBM With Reset Password That did not Work

I requested and got new password to access BB ID. But it did not work. I used up 10/10 attemps. I used a different or active cellphone number and didn't work. Is anyone else having issues with icloud passwords?

Recent upgrade to 3.1.2 and issue with voicemail password request

just went thru the 3.1.2 upgrade, froze my original phone-just like the 3.1 upgrade- had to go to store and get a new refurshied phone (dont even go there!) which only worked for three days, then had to return to store again......excuse me, i do sound angry don't i?
anyway, now i continue to get a message----"password incorrect enter voicemail password" now i have never had a voicemail password so i can not figure out why it wants one- have never seen this message until the upgrade... cant make it go away either- any suggestions out there? thanks

EVERYTIME I update my phone, I lose all my music, podcasts, and apps. I dont know why. Pics, contacts, texts, etc are all saved, but anything else is deleted and NOT restored when the phone is restored from backup. I feel your pain...
