Issue with right aligning of Character Styles in my TOC

Hello all!
I'm working on my very first book project and I have been reading soooo many threads on here for the past hour, but i either just don't get it, or i didn't find what i needed still, so i already apologize in case this very question has been answered before ...
ok, so ... i am building my TOC and have set up the corresponding TOC styles to the paragraph styles used throughout the book.
what i want is for the page number to appear before the entry. so for the page number i have set up it's own TOC page number character style.
NOW
the page number appears left aligned. I have checked the character styles palette and there i can't set a tab for the page number to appear right aligned ...
how do i get this page number to be right aligned? and THEN, how do i specify the distance between the page number and the entry? there is "tab character"mentioned on the TOC dialogue box to specify the distance between page number and entry, but then do i have to go in manually every time something changes? that can't be it? i have seen in the paragraphy styles palette there is a tab section ... tried to input the tabs so the number would appear right aligned and the distance to the entry, but nothing happened, then the number is stuck right on the entry once the TOC is generated ...
does this make any sense?
will attach a screenshot to try to clarify the issue ...

An awful lot of what I know and am able to pass on comes from having spent waaaaay to much time here reading about odd problems and trying to figure out ways to solve them. I think i found why.
There was no problem with TextField.
There was a problem with Array. "CityArea"
So each time I executed script it added new string in Array. And that is because i got like:
TextField
City 1
City 2
City 1
City 2
Running this script is Ok:
for (var i1:int = 0; i1 < CityArea.length; i1++)
_CityAreaString1 += " "+CityArea[i1]+"";
_CityAreaString1 += " ";
But outside of this for loop there is another for loop for adding Cities in CityArray.
I fixed it by adding empty array at the start of function

Strange issue with rights of account, used by SSIS (Foreach Loop Container does not return file names without Admin rights on server)

Hello everyone.
Faced very strange issue with account, which is used to run SSIS package.
The specific package uses Foreach Loop Container to retrieve file names within the specified folder, and put them into Import file task.
The package is set up to run under specific service account. This service account is given all permissions (Full control) to the folder where source files reside.
So the issue is: SSIS package fails to execute this task (Foreach Loop Container and then Import), and shows that no files are found in the directory (although files ARE there).
Once we're adding the service account into local Administrators group on the SQL Server, it works! Removing - does not work again. We cannot leave the service account as SQL server's admin as it's prohibited by our IT policies, and is just a bad practice.
Any ideas, please?

Find texts with more than one Character Style applied

Never tried with bullets but nested styles might work... I think you can chain two or more nested style, and then you can define first nested style to effect only first character, second nested style to next character and so on....

Issue with right-click menu after latest update

After updating Firefox, the right-click menu is showing much more commands than before (Play, Pause, Mute etc. etc.), most of them out of context ("Open Link in New Tab" when there is no link) and none of them working.

Issues with a massive right-click context menu have been reported as caused by Firebug, so make sure to update Firebug to the latest version.

Strange issue with right click menus in apps

Every now and again the right click menu will stop working in applications. I won't be able to right click at all and sometimes closing and re-opening the app will work and sometimes I will need to restart the computer to fix the issue.
I am running a very simple Fluxbox and SLiM based system and only really use Chromium, Thunderbird, XChat and Gvim on a regular basis but it seems to affect all of them from time to time which suggests to me it is a system wide problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this rather annoying problem?
As an aside this never effects the right click menu in Fluxbox.

Filling string with right alignment

I want to fill the String(amount) in right alignment.
i have 6 places(column) to fill the amont(digit).
Sometimes it may be of 2 charactersor 3 characters

But,In my problem;
I have a row of type char[] having 80 columns.
I have to fill all amont in 60-65 th column.
So, I have to put the rightmost String amount in 65th position and fill it accordingly..
Is there any method like System.arraycopy() ;which works for left starting position and lenth of String.

NetBeans problem: Issue with servlets and Chinese character encoding

First at all thanks for reading this post. I am having the following issue. I am creating an application using html pages and servlets. I am using Chinese and English languages on them (html encoding UTF-8).
I created a project in Netbeans and added an idex.html screen reporting to a servlet. Both index.html and in the servlet generated html page contains the line:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
Additional, I setup the character code settings in Netbeans:
(tools-options-Java sources-Expert-default encoding=UTF-8
When I run the project, index.html displays itself perfectly, with the Chinese characters displayed properly. The problem comes when the html created servlet is displayed, which instead of the Chinese characters some strange characters are displayed (�� instead of Chinese).
I have tried different encodings from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/intl/encoding.doc.html without any luck. I also setup the encoding of the file itself (using right click-properties in the project menu of Netbeans).
Also, when I am editing the servlet, the characters are displayed properly. I type them directly without any issue, but then the display is wrong at runtime.
Also, just in case this have something to do with the problem, my PC was bought in US, therefore the default character set is not Chinese. I had to install the Chinese typing stuff later on. But like I said earlier, the html page is displayed properly, so I really think is some problem with Netbeans.
After a week trying to find a solution, I decided to post it here in the hopes that someone will show me the way of the light.

Tried to set the encoding to UNICODE but then the file doesn't compile.
I gues you have to download the Japanese version for it to work correctly.

Currently the texts alignment in my report is in Center but i need all in left alignment.
i searched in SDN and got to know that we can do it through MIME repository where all the Style sheets are maintained.
So i went to se80(MIME Repository) and searched the style sheet for my report when i double click on the style sheet it takes me into MS visuals.intel Dev but ther i could not found where i have to do the settings.
Could any one please tell me the steps how can i do this setting ther?

Hi Satish,
In the css file, you should have a 'text-align' property set to 'center' for the BEx Table cell element. I'm not sure of the exact element name, maybe you can check. Also check if you can open the file in notepad if the MS VS format is not ok with you.

Hyperlink not working on TLF textfield with right align

I have a strange problem with TLF textfield in flash cs5.5. Hyperlinks stop working if I set Text Align to "Right" both in the IDE and Through AS3 code. This works perfectly in Flash CS 5.0
I really cant go back to CS 5.0, hence any suggestions on a workaround will help immensely.

Here are the steps I have taken so far, none of them working:
1.) I have done a full reset and set the phone up as a new phone (no restore from icloud)
2.) I have downloaded the public release build from the developer forum, installed it, and set up as a new phone.
3.) I have done 1 and 2 above while restoring from icloud
Not one of them has worked. I am wondering if it isolated to the Verizon iphone 5?

Issues with rights on a specific file

Hi,
Given this details: a folder called \\netshare\Temp where a user doesn't have any rights, I put a file called test.txt and give full rights on this file, I instructed the user to access it by directly by copy and paste
the UNC: \\netshare\Temp\test.txt, the file is opening, but the user cant save it.
Client OS is Windows 7.
I want to avoid giving rights on the folder itself.
Is there any workaround?

I have done a test on my pc and use the same settings with yours. Then I opened the test.txt file and modify the content, after that, I could save the test.txt file. Please confirm the user configures the group policy “Bypass traverse checking”.

How to style text with XML import using character style that is in a group (aid:cstyle = "group1"."style1") ?

Hello, I am using an XML file to import text into InDesign page items. Everything works well using the attribute "aid:cstyle = style1" but since the introduction of InDesign groups, our users want to use them but we do not know how to reference them in the xml attribute.
I saw somewhere on the internet that you should use "aid:cstyle = group1:style1" or "aid:cstyle = group1|style1" but both won't work. They simply create a new ungrouped style name "group1:style1" or "group1|style1"
So what is the right formula ?

Tagged Text is nice but all the copy in your page item is one big block, no way to separate and track individual values, say in your page item you have a description and a sale price, you can't update the price without reimporting the description as well. We use many fields inside an individual page item and just as one example we need to be able to update all prices on the page without modifying anything else that shares the page items with the prices. Also XML updates you can trigger an update for the whole document in one operation, while with Tagged Text you have to "place" your text file for each individual page item you are modifying (even with scripting you call the place function as many times as you have page items). So say you have a page or document with 200 boxes across multiple layers that is a lot of individual actions.
Anyway back to my problem.
I've never used Mapping tas to styles before, but running some tests here I clearly don't understand it. If my text is already tagged and I map a style to a tag, it untags all my individual text elements and leaves only the page item tag, and doesn't style my text... I'm going to try and read more on this.

Type Issues with Kerning/Alignment CS6

I have been putting together some inserts for a sales presentation folder in Illustrator CS6. I am having trouble trying to figure out possibly how to make my text align as presentable as possible. If you view the image you can see that my text on the right is not aligned with each other line consistently. Not sure what the best possible approach is to this. Would really appreciate some help on this.

Generating TOC with Character Styles Referenced

I have a paragraph style applied so several paragraphs in a document. This paragraph style has a nested style for the first few words of the paragraph which also have a specific character style assigned to them. The thing is that I need to be able to reference or list these first few in my TOC. I'm aware that the automatically generated TOC doesn't have the ability to refrence character styles, but I'm hoping that someone else knows of a way around this. Does anyone know how to work around that or include, somehow, character styles in the TOC list? The main reason I'm needing to do this is because the automaticly generated TOC (Layout > Table of Content) is built in such a way that it can be recognized in the settings when exporting to epub.

It was a good idea and almost worked. I created an extra textbox with the text I wanted included in that text box with a specific paragraph style applied to it that has non-printing text. Once I included the paragraph style in the Automatically generated TOC it worked in generating the text in the TOC line up, but when I exported the file to an EPUB there was no way to tell it not to include the text that where non-printing. Therefore the words/sentences that were not visible in indesign or on print and anchored to the original text were doubled in the final epub version.

Why is the character style for hyperlinks not displaying correctly in design mode/viewing/output?

I am using RH9 and generating WebHelp, and I needed to globally bump up the font size of just my hyperlinked text. I went into my Style Sheet > Character tab, changed the font size of the various character settings for hyperlinks, and clicked Apply and then OK. Normally, this would change all of my hyperlink text font sizes immediately across all of my topics. However, this time, it made no changes to any existing hyperlinked text, and it only affected new hyperlinks that I subsequently added. For the existing hyperlinks, I can only manually change the font size of the each hyperlink one at a time, but that's crazy (there's 100's in this help).
I can successfully change other characters styles and paragraph styles. This issue only affects the hyperlink character styles. It also shows up in all RH modes - Design mode, viewing, and in the final output.
Is this an indication of a corrupted style sheet or some other combination of events that I have yet to discover?

Hi,
You probably have inline styling in your project overwriting the font size of your style sheet. How are you changing the font size of the individual hyperlinks?
There is a workaround for inline styling: Open your CSS in notepad and add !important after the font-size:
font-size: 4pt !important;
Note that this is a workaround, not a solution. As a solutions you can remove all the style attributes from your hyperlinks to force them to take the CSS styling again.
