Issue with Storage Unit Type (LETYP) in L_TO_CREATE_TR
Hi Experts,
I need help in the function module "L_TO_CREATE_TR". using in Warehouse Management(WM) module.
In theis function module I am passing LETYP(Storage Unit Type) value in IT_TRITE parameter, but this is not considering my value instead of this it is considering the value which is coming based on Source Storage type.
Can any one aware of this issue ?
Please let me know.
Thanks & Regards,
Chandu
Hi,
Pass the Storage type details to NLTYP/ VLTYP. For destination storage details NLTYP and NLPLA. For Souce storage details VLTYP and VLPLA.
No need to pass to LETYP value.
" Pass these values
ls_trite-tbpos = "Transfer Requirement
ls_trite-nltyp = "Destination storage type
ls_trite-nlpla = "Destination storage bin
ls_trite-anfme = "Quantity
ls_trite-vltyp = "Source storage type
ls_trite-vlpla = "Source storage bin
ls_trite-altme = "Unit of measurement
APPEND ls_trite TO lt_trite.
CALL FUNCTION 'L_TO_CREATE_TR'
EXPORTING
i_lgnum = "Warehouse
i_tbnum = "Transfer Requirement
i_update_task = 'X'
i_commit_work = 'X'
it_trite = lt_trite
This will create a TO w.r.t TR

Difference between Storage Unit type and storage type
Hi,
I am confused with storage unit type and storage type.
Can anyone help me with real case examples.
I would like to know about Storage unit types and their uses in WM.Hello!
Storage type is a storage area and Storage Unit Type is strategies are used in the warehouse process for creating transfer orders.
A storage type is a storage area, warehouse facility, or a warehouse zone that you define in Warehouse Management (WM) for a warehouse number. This is a physical or logical subdivision of a warehouse complex that is characterized by its warehouse technique, the space used, its organizational form, or its function. A storage type generally contains several storage spaces or slots. These are called storage bins in Warehouse Management (WM).

Storage Unit Type is putaway strategy, the system processes different storage unit types (for example, pallets) and allocates them to the appropriate section. Often, one storage bin is divided into several smaller sections. Typically, only the same storage unit types can be placed into a storage bin at one time.

Split transfer order on the basis of Storage Unit type(SUT)
Hi,
I got one problem and want the solution for that immediately.the problem is as follows:-
The transfer Order needs to be split by quantity according to the quantity per Storage Unit Type.
I have to do this making chages in the SAP standard user Exit EXIT_SAPLL03A_12 in the program SAPML03T.
Eg.One scenario is provided
Scenario 1: Perform transaction MIGO with a movement type 101 for Outbound Delivery 80000201. Enter a quantity of 15 kgs.
the result should be as follows:
Scenario 1: Check TOs created by going to transaction LT22. Enter Warehouse number 200; Storage type 902. Select the Dynamic Selections button and select Transfer order Item. Double click on Material and enter the material number (W075006). The SUT is 5kg so the expected result is for 3 TOs to have been created.
Means one TO got splitted in 3 TOs.
Please provide me the help.Hi Vinay,
This can be done purely through customizing. Please check IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Activities -> Transfers -> Processing Performance Data/Split. You will need to define a sorting profile for TO split in where LETYP (storage unit type) can be used as sorting condition. The sorting profile should then be assigned to defined TO split.
Hope it helps.

Storage unit type not found automatically on LT01
Hi,
We have just only one kind of storage unit type in the settings. I want it to be determined automatically on TO creation(LT01) , so that the user is not required to enter it everytime he creates a TO
I couldnt find a way to do it via custimizing. Appreciate any tips about it.
Thanks
Cihan PolatHi,
I dont have a problem with storage type determination.
Acctually what is missing on LT01 is storage type indicator LTAP-LETYP (EXP for my example).
This is the field on the second screen of LT01 (SAPML03T- 102).
It is located under quantity, which is just second line on the screen.

How many storage unit type per Material code
Dear ERP Expert
we are running SAP ECC 6.0 with decentralized Warehouse Management System (WHP).
In material master data of WHP, view Warehouse Mgmt 2, there is the "Palletization data" box, with the following column:
Loading equipment quantity 1
Unit of measure for loading equipment quantity 1
1st storage unit type
In this way it is possible to define, per material code, 3 different pallet type, isnt'it?
I would like to know: To define different pallet types what kind of the impact could have?
I mean, someone tell us that the main impact to define different pallet types, in WH material master data is:
1 - When receiving the goods the TOu2019s will have to be created manually. The system cannot define the used pallet by itself and this is very important for the placement.
2 - The issuing of the goods is not possible via RF (radio frequency). This will have to be done manually as this is not supported.
is this scenario relalistic or is it possible to do something in order to avoid this scenario?
regards
marco1)Storage unit type is assigned to the eacj warehouse number.
2)It is activated for each storage type in the warehouse.
3)Goto SPRO->LE->Warehouse mangmt->Mater Data->Material->Define storage unit type.
4)Here you assign storage unit type to warehouse number
5)You can activate SU mngmt at warehouse level here:
SPRO->LE->Warehouse mangmt->Storage Unit->Master Data->Activate SU mngmt per warehouse number
6)You can also activate SU mngmt at storage type level
SPRO->LE->Warehouse mangmt->Master Data->Define storage type.

Hi,
I have the following situation:
In our warehouse, materials are received in kilograms and stored and transferred in barrels or containers.
For this reason we are using storage unit types "barrel" and "container".
For the barrels, we have a defined bin structure. Containers are stored in one large area with no restrictions to the number of containers.
For barrel storage we use placement strategy P (palletization). This because a maximum of 4 barrels can be placed in a bin. We created 4 bin sections per bin to hold the maximum of 4 storage units.
My question is this:
To check if a storage unit can be placed in a bin works fine. A maximum of 4 barrels is allowed in a barrel bin.
However, when converting a TR to a TO i want to check the entered quantity PER storage unit type.
For a barrel, a maximum of 250 kilograms is allowed. For containers, a maximum of 1500 kilograms is allowed. Material can be stored in barrels, as well as in containers.
How do i let the system check the allowed maximum quantity per storage unit type?
Thanks in advance,
PaulHi Paul
I can see why it is failing now.
For a storage type with Palletization strategy, it considers the capacity per bin and not per section. Therefore it will allow you to putaway 750KG in a single section of the bin (250 used by SUT totaling 1000 for the bin).
Your requirement is capacity check per SUT with a set maximum material quantity.
A different way of handling this is using capacity check method 2 for the storage type.
Then update your material master data (WM2 view) with Palletization data.
250 KG <Barrel SUT>
No update to storage bin masters is required.
A drawback of this strategy is you can work only with the one SUT for a material. System will not take in to consideration any data given in line 2 or 3 in Palletization Data. In other words you cannot restrict the max quantity for Containers for the same material.
Perhaps depending on the storage type characteristics of your container store, we may make some work around.
Let me know if you wish to discuss more.

Storage bin type and storage unit type.
Hi,
Can anyone explain what is the differnce between the staorage bin type which is maintaine for storage bins and the storage unit type which is maintained in material master.
Can any one correct me that My material storage unit type is maintained in TT and the storage bin for put awayis maintained in PC (storage bin type).
is this the right way to be adapted.
SunilHi,
THe storage unit type is a description of how the material is stroed in the storage bin.
Some bins may not able to allow a full pallet due to height restrictions, but a half-pallet may fit.so warehouse can define a storage unit type that defines a half-pallet and qty of the material that can fit on that half-pallet.
Configuration menu path:IMG-logistics Execution-Warehouse Management-master data-material-define storage unit type.
where as storage bin is the lowest level of storage defined in the warehouse.

Storage unit types and storage bin types - Need
Hi,
i want to know what is the use of the storage unit type and storage bin type.
thanks,
MaxxDear Maxx,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/c6/f844694afa11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
Storage Bin:
A storage type generally contains several storage spaces or slots. These are called storage bins in Warehouse Management (WM). The storage bin is the smallest available unit of space in a warehouse. The storage bin therefore describes the position in the warehouse where the goods are or can be stored.
Since the address of a storage bin is frequently derived from a coordinate system, a storage bin is often referred to as a coordinate. The coordinate 01-02-03 for example, can refer to a storage bin in row 1, stack 2, and level 3.
You assign each storage bin to a specific warehouse number and storage type according to its location. You must also assign each storage bin to a storage section.
You can also define the following additional characteristics of a storage bin:
Maximum weight
Total capacity
Fire containment section
Storage bin type (for example, for small or large pallets)
With certain stock placement strategies, the storage bin type plays a significant role in optimizing the automatic search for a storage bin in connection with the pallet type. For example, you can define the WM putaway strategy to place large industrial pallets into a specific large bin type and smaller pallets into small bins.
Storage Unit:
In the system, a storage unit record consists of a header and at least one material data record (quant data record).
The header contains information which is relevant for the entire storage unit and includes the:
Storage unit number
Storage unit type (SUT) of the storage unit
Storage bin in which the storage unit is currently located
Status, which provides current information about the storage unit
Specific information about the stock contained in a storage unit is found in the material data record. The material record is already familiar to you in the existing system as a quant data record. For SU management, this information can be managed at the storage unit level.
The following graphics illustrate how WM handles storage bins with and without the use of storage unit management. For these examples, storage bins are displayed in which 200 boxes of red pencils and 50 boxes of blue pencils are stored. The stock is distributed on two pallets.
Hope this will help.

Hi,
I have really a serious problem about storage unit type controlling in my wm project.
I desinged the warehouse system according to some backround jobs like RLAUTA10. All my storage types managed with stoge units but we have just one storage unit type 001. But the problem is that when program RLAUTA10 run it gets errors about storage unit type. The job asks in every transfer requirement sut.I have just one sut and it must be default sut in system. Than the pragram RLAUTA10 can run as a backround job succuessfully.
Thanks.Hello,
Please check if you have maintained the palletization data in the material master in WM2 view.
If you havent thats probably the cause why your background jobs are asking for SUT in TR's/
Please check and hope this helps.
Thanks, -
Re : No bin types have been assigned to storage unit type WM3
Hai
I am doing warehouse configuration. While creating transfer order i am getting the following error
" No bin types have been assigned to storage unit type WM3 "
How to solve this.
Thanks
AntoHi,
It seems there is some problem with configuration, check in the given path below for configuration.
SPRO-IMG-Logistics execution-Warehouse management-Strategies-Activate Storage Bin Type Search,
here in the first step you have to define storage bin types & in the next step you have assign it to your storage unit type.
Bin types are when you have bin of different dimensions.

Issue With Sales Document Type in BW.
Dear Experts,
I am facing an Issue with Sales Document Type(Object name is 0DOC_TYPE).
when i am loading data from R/3 to BW It is converting Sales Document type as follow
Sales Document Type in R/3 Sales Document Type in BW
OR TA
CR G2
DR L2
I check with an ABAPer and he told that there is conversion exit for this Object so that's why it is converting when sending to BW. But the user wants to see in Report same as it is in R/3 like OR, CR DR ... etc.
I have done some investigation and found that the conversion exit (CONVERSION_EXIT_AUART_INPUT and CONVERSION_EXIT_AUART_OUTPUT) are converting the values based in the table TAUUM
The staructure of TAUUM is
MANDT(Client) SPRAS(Language) AUART(Sales document type (not converted) AUART_SPR(Language key for sales document type)
and values are
100 E TA OR
100 E G2 CR
etc....
The same Conversion exits(CONVERSION_EXIT_AUART_INPUT and CONVERSION_EXIT_AUART_OUTPUT) and table TAUUM are available in BW as well. So i thought I can Use InfoObject 0DOC_TYPE by changing it's conversion Routine as AUART(which runs based on the above mentioned conversion exits).
but the the problem is table TAUUM(Pool Table) does't have any data in BW.
So can anyone tell me is there any option to load data into table TAUUM from R/3 or any other option to solve this issue.
Your ideas will really help's me.
Thanks in advance,
Dara.Hi Venkat,
Thanks a lot for your immediate response.
The InfoObject 0DOC_TYPE was without conversion exit by default. but when data coming from R/3 it is converting and sending to BW So that's why i am planning to use conversion exit "AUART" in the info Object.
I checked data in R/3 using RSA3 it is showing sales document type as "OR" and for the same transaction data when i checked in PSA it is showing as "TA".
Could you please let me know if there any other options.
Thanks in advance,
Dara. -

Hello,
I would like to know how to assign storage unit types for a stroage unit. are there any restrictions to assign a particular storage unit type for a storage unit.
Thanks,
MaxxHello Maxx,
When you create Transfer order at that time you need to mention the storage unit type for that transaction and based on that it will assign storage unit type to storage unit.
There are some controls for this
- Storage type level: Here you restric what are the storage unit type allowed for that particular storage type (Tran code: OMM1)
- You can activate SUT check for storage type in master data for storage type.
- You can define the Storage unit type in Material master which will be defaulted when you do pallatization
Hope this helps.
