Issue with submitting podcast.

I recently submitted my podcast to the itunes store. As far as I know, everything was fine with the RSS feed. I was sent a rejection notice, so I went to look back, and realized that something within the description had come through screwy in the feed, and caused itunes to bring it up as "unclean language". I went back to fix it, and did so, figuring I could just try resubmitting it.
Well, itunes is just telling me that the feed had already been submitted. I'm using podomatic to host the podcast right now, and they provided me with the RSS feed to use. Is there any way I can get this fixed so I can resubmit again? I'm not the best with the feed stuff, so I would really appreciate being able to avoid having to make a brand new rss link. Thanks for the help!

I can't seem to get my client's podcast in the itunes store. I submitted it once and it was rejected for no explicit content tag- I fixed that and resubmitted it- nothing. Then I changed the title and resubmitted it. Nothing. I have contacted tech support and they say they can't help with podcast submission. I know the rss is right (http://air-raid.net/rss.php) and I feel like I am just being ignored.
Either of you get past this hurdle? It's been going on 3 months we've been waiting for this to take. Why the **** can't they send you an email to let you know how the submission is progressing?
Please, Itunes- help me get this GOING!

  • Still having issues with my podcast feed in iTunes

I am still having issues with my podcast feed. The podcast is not updating in iTunes yet I can see some of the new episodes through an alternative RSS.
    My podcast feed is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/SosChurchStockholm.
Not sure what I am doign wrong.
Thankful for any help in this regard.
    Thanks

I'm afraid I can't give you an easy answer. The Store has not updated since the episode of 10th November, but the later episodes appear when subscribing and there doesn't appear to be any problem with the feed.
The Store does appear to go through sticky patches sometimes and take a long time to update some podcasts; it will probably catech up eventually and I'm afraid that there isn't really much you can do about it. You could try emailing Support ad podcasts 'at' apple.com, but I suspect you will get a form answer telling you how to add episodes (which you already know).

  • Continuing issues with two podcasts...

I am back to having issues with posts not being visible in iTunes...
    The feeds are:
    feeds.feedburner.com/SosChurchStockholm
    and
    feeds,feedbruner.com/JohannesAmritzersPodcast
And they do not validate when trying to verify them through feedvalidator.org.
Again, thankful for any help that I can get on this.
    Thanks.
    /Peter

Both feeds work as would be expected. However both have some episodes which do not have 'enclosure' tags containing the URLs of the media files, and as these are seen as not having any playable media by iTunes it does not display them.
For example in 'Johannes Amritzer's Podcasts' the episode 'Signs of Hope' has the URL of a media file in the 'link' tag but this won't do you any good. So you need to do for that and similar episodes something that you did with others to make them iTunes-compliant but didn't do with these.
The FeedValidator errors are not serious but should be addressed. In SOS Church Stockhom, in line 84 you need Jan not January (though it doesn't seem to upset iTunes) and there are other similar cases; and your duration in line 146 should be 1:25:15
In the other feed Christianity is a sub-category, not a category - see
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#categories
Similar points about the dates, and you have an incorrect day of the week. Not having a guid tag isn't fatal but it's preferable to have them as elsewhere.

  • Issues with new Podcasts application

I've got a few major frustrations with the new Podcasts application compared to the existing functionality.
    1.     It doesn't remember the speed setting - every new podcast it plays (even a new episode in the same podcast feed) sees the speed revert to normal.  I listen to 99% of my podcasts at "2x" faster speed.  This is a major pain and means having to click in a handful of times just to set the preference again.  Ideally I'd love so you can set the speed on a per podcast basis, but I'll live with it just remembering the speed that was being used.
    2.     Using the headphone button to pause and then unpause sees the "Music" program start back up, and not the Podcasts application that you are listening to.
    3.     How do you get it to remove listened to podcasts?  I don't want to continue to see them once they are played.
    Thanks
    Greg

This is really bugging me too. The podcast app hasn't got that many tasks, but one major one of them is reminding which episode is played and which not. If this isn't working properly, I would say: mission failed!
today I noticed that with various podcasts over 100 ep. were marked unplayed, while last week I set them all to played (again) because I just wanted to start over.
Anyone else having this issue? Or maybe someone knows a solution?

  • Issue with Submitting a ALV report in container ...

    Hello Gurus,
I know how to display data in ALV in container on screen. My issue is, I have a container defined on screen. I have a separate report whose output is in the ALV form.
Now if I submit the report in the PBO, I do not get the ALV output of that report in custom container defined on screen, but the report as a whole gets executed.
How can I submit a report and still get its output on ALV container.

    Hi,
    In your ZREPT report define a parameter( called ) one character that is not displayed. Set this parameter 'X' before submit statement. In ZREPT report check this parameter;
if called is not initial. (It means the report is submitted from the other report)
export result table to memory id 'MEMORYID'.
    endif.
Then in report from which you submitted ZREPT, import result table from memory id  'MEMORYID'. Then display the result table in your grid.

  • Issues with syncing podcasts

Okay, so if I listen to a podcast on my phone and then sync it to my PC, after syncing it marks it as new again on my phone. It's as if it forgets the changes that have been made on the phone.
Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I have no 'replace info on iPhone' boxes checked as far as I can see.
    Cheers.

And while we are on the subject of podcasts...
When you go to iPod and look at your list of podcasts there is a link to get more episodes.
When you click that it takes you to the iTunes store and lists the episodes. But its so dumb it will show you episodes that are sitting on the phone!! So you absent mindedly download the same episode again.
Why can't it at least check what you have on the phone and indicate those that are already on the phone like it does for Apps?
Oh, I know I'm supposed to go the pointless gesture of submitting feedback... sigh.

  • Issues with custom podcasts

    Hello,
Recently I've tried to make custom podcast playlists.  I know how to convert music files into podcasts, adding them  to their own playlist by naming them the same album.  However, even though iTunes on my PC correctly states the podcasts playlists and episodes, my iPod touch wants to be different so groups them all together in the same playlist & is only displaying 7 of the 12 episodes (the 5 most recent aren't showing up) that my iTunes says are on my iPod.
These podcasts are also part of a music playlist I have synced on my iPod.  Removing it from the sync list does nothing.
    What can I do? Help?

  • Issues with new podcast

I have recently had my podcast approved in the iTunes store and I've noticed that it has received 3 reviews, 2 of which indicate that they get a message saying 'Movie Cannot Be Played'. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this problem? When I subscribe to the podcast it works fine for me. Here's a link to the podcast's page in the iTunes store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/natural-world-in-hd-720p/id377347044
On a related note this podcast isn't really new, it's just been relaunched with a new URL since I recently changed my website URL. I put in place redirects (using both the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag and a 301 redirect to do so). I've done this before, so now I have 4 podcasts showing in the store that are all really the one podcast. I'd like to delete the extraneous ones, but how do I do this without losing the good reviews I've had for them?

Please always include the URL of your feed when posting a question. For the record, it's
    http://www.scenerystation.com/podcasts/720p/podcast_720p.xml
I'm actually slightly surprised that your episodes play on subscribing. They don't play in the Store (they just show a still image) and if you paste the URL from the feed into a browser window it downloads rather than plays it.
Your episode URLs contain a redirect -
    http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.m4v?http://www.scenerystation.com/podcasts/7 20p/SopoagaFallspodcast.m4v
(there is no line break in this but the forum has wrapped it after the '?').
This often causes problems - it's advisable to provide a direct link to the files. However the file should play in a browser, not download. Even if you paste only the actual URL into a browser - the part after the '?' - it still downloads. This usually indicates a problem with the server, which may not be configured correctly to serve this type of file, and so it downloads (as will any any unrecognized file type). This is presumably why it works on subscribing, since you have to download it anyway to play it. It may be that this is indeed the problem, rather than the redirect (though I still think these are inadvisable) and that you need to take it up with whoever is running your server.
Redirecting a podcast shouldn't produce more than one version. Oddly, you seem to have managed to get at least two - one referenced 377347044 which doesn't have any reviews, and one referenced 253848965 which has one review (these two turn up on searching, there may be more). Both are using the same feed and are therefore identical apart from the Store page. I can't explain this - it shouldn't happen; possibly a Store glitch. Presumably you can get the extraneous ones removed by the usual process, but you would indeed lose any reviews since these are associated with the Store page rather than the feed.

  • Issue with my podcast not updating to subscribers

    Hi,
I recently took over podcast duties for our podcast.  And around a month before I took over (mid-march)  I began recieving complaints that the podcast wasn't updating to subscribers.  It seems to be mostly from people using the IOS podcast ap.  I am using it myself, and I can search for the podcast and find it, but as a subscriber the podcast will not update automatcially, or aknowledge that a new podcast has been uploaded.  I am aware that it can take a few days to update from my feed, but it still should alert subscribers when a new podcast is uploaded.
    my page https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/branches-a-christian-church/id512745759?mt=2
Thanks in advance for the help!

    Your feed is at http://www.themim.com/podcasts/branches_podcasts.xml
The latest episode in it is 29 April, and this shows in the Store and when subscribing in iTunes on a Mac, so all this is normal.
I don't have an iOS device so I'm not in a position to check if there are any problems there. Your server does handle the required 'byte ramge requests' so it ought to work OK, but if it doesn't I can only advise asking in the iPhone forum - everything in the feed seems to be correct.

  • Is anyone having issues with the podcast update from 5/16?

Podcasts do not load nor play already downloaded podcasts. Everything worked fine before 5/16 update. Tried resetting phone and podcast. Hate to delete and lose data from previous podcasts. Any known fix?

Same thing happened here. Apple Podcast app is pretty much dead. Just before this update, it wasn’t syncing any new podcasts. Copied the files to the device but Podcast app wasn’t showing them. After the update, it’s either popping up a warning that cellular data is off, or another popup to suggest upgrading iTunes to v11.2 (I’m running 11.1.5.5 and haven’t seen any advisories from iTunes).
Rebooting the device or changing app options has no effect.
A quick look at the device diagnostic logs show that the new v574 (2.1) Podcast app is crashing the core foundation services in the device. Here’s a little more (anonymous) crash version information:

  • I had feed issues with my podcast on 2 episodes. How do I refresh them so they are right?

I have two episodes of my show that are not loading right. I had to take them off of my site and reload them there. How do I refresh them to ITunes?

If the media files are the same URL as before you need to nothing as the feed references them. (The iTunes Store does not cache them, but merely uses the feed as a pointer to them.)
If you have placed them at different URLs, for example by changing the filenames, you will need to amend the feed and re-upload it.

  • Apple has Major Issue with Podcast Updating

I have been getting reports from a large number of the folks we represent at RawVoice indicating they are having the same issue with the podcast listings updating in iTunes.
We are going to poll our 6000 podcasters and have them start watching this more closely. Everything has been working perfectly for such a long time most of us never check iTunes anymore.
It could be some update that iTunes is doing but it is negatively effecting many podcasters because the listeners do not know enough to hit Refresh on the subscription listing.
I know my download numbers are way down over the past week because it looks like I have not updated my show. Please check your podcast listings. If you see that they are not updating within a couple of hours of posting start submitting trouble tickets.
Something is broke and I don't think Apple is aware of it. I am getting standard boiler plate responses back from tech support. But if they have enough submissions then they will know something is jacked up.
Here is the info to submit a ticket, you will have to be persistent or you will not get a response.
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.

try taking down the power to the ATV since the last update. Then power back on.

  • Link to report an issue with Podcast update

Someone posted a link so we could report an issue with the Podcast app the last time there were issues with an upgrade.
I sync with my laptop iTunes. Since this latest update to the app, when I delete a podcast in iTunes on my laptop it will not delete on my i devices during a sync with my laptop. It just grays them out and leaves them on my device. It looks like I can manually delete them, but when you click the edit function to delete them, they are no longer grayed out, so you can't tell which to delete and which to keep.
I don't do anything with the cloud, because I have limited wifi service and do most of my updating at a free wifi hotspot.
If someone has that online link on where to report issues, I would appreciate you posting it again and this time I will save it.

    I have a MSI 975X Platinum rev 2 mb with a e6300 processor overclocked to 2.24ghz.
If your CPU operates @2.24 GHz, it means that you increased FSB frequency to about 348 MHz.
To make sure there is no misunderstanding here, let me point out the following:
Memory frequency is ALWAYS linked to FSB frequency by the FSB/DRAM Ratio you can select in BIOS.  If you select 1:1 for example, the BIOS will show that memory frequency is 533 MHz. This value however, only applies to the default FSB clock speed of 266 MHz:
    266 MHz x 1 = 266 MHz (or 533 MHz effective DDR2-frequency).
If your system is overclocked, what counts is only FSB/DRAM ratio, not the memory speed displayed in BIOS.  That means, if you set FSB/DRAM ration to 1:1 and FSB frequency to 348 MHz, your RAM will operate @:
    348 MHz x 1 = 348 MHz (or 696 MHz effective DDR2-frequency).
    The main question is:
What are you talking about when you say, you can't make your RAM operate @800 MHz?
The BIOS does not offer a proper divider to get your RAM to 800 MHz @348 FSB clock speed to begin with.
You have the following choices if your overclock your system:
    FSB=300 + FSB/DRAM ratio = 1.33
    300 MHz x 1.33 ~ 400 MHz (or 800 MHz effective DDR2-frequency)
    FSB=320 MHz + FSB/DRAM ratio = 1:1.25
    320 MHz x 1.25 = 400 MHz (or 800 MHz effective DDR2-frequency)
    FSB=400 MHz + FSB/DRAM ratio = 1:1
    400 MHz x 1 = 400 MHz (or 800 MHz effective DDR2-frequency)
Use CPU-Z to monitor the DRAM frequency that is actually set if you are overclocking.
