Issue with syncing music.

Hi again, New problem
This time after getting Itunes to read the contents of my iPhone, it willnot sync my music.
Apps, Photos and Videos sync but music and ringtones won't.
All my songs are checked boxed to sync, under sync music entire library isselected (around 7.5gb) and The iPhone knows they are all there, it even showsthem all there in blue on the capacity bar. but as soon as I hit sync, it goesthrough the steps, backing up etc. BUT when it gets to the determining tracksto sync, it doesn’t sync any music and the sync is then completed and mycapacity bar at the bottom of the summary page has no blue audio at all, can'teven Sync one song or ringtone.
Now to recap, I had recently had an issue with my iTunes not reading thecontent of my iPhone 4. I bit the bullet and downloaded iFunbox even though myiPhone is not jailbroken, and navigated through to remove the itunesCDB file, ithen had to remove all content from my iPhone as all my stuff was coming up asother in the capacity bar. so I manually deleted all my music, photos etc.
So I am assuming that I must have deleted a wrong file or folder in theresomewhere for now I can't add any music.
I have removed all music from Itunes and manually added them back in butagain. no such luck.
Any help would be much appreciated and thanking you in advance.

can anyone help with this please? im at my wits end trying to make this work.

Since this first message, the "Other" space has increased exponentially.  The first time, after the "restore", it increased to over 9 GB.  Later, I tried a minor restore again, and now it's over 10 GB.  I've seen someone suggest that text messages are to blame.  If my text messages are suddenly taking up 4 GB of space, I think we've got bigger problems.

I am facing issues with my music on my iOS device. I have five devices connected to my apple id. And out of which a Windows Machine and iPhone is not able to sync the purchased songs on the the Windows machine and the iPhone. The iPhone4 shows the songs are not supported and on the Windows Machine the songs do not play completely. Can anyone advice what could have gone wrong ? Because rest of the devices are synced to MacBook and they are able to sync the content normally.  I have even subscribed to iTunes Match but the problem is still not fixed.

    Firstly...  a little Clarity...
Devices refer to iDevices... iPod... iPhone... iPad. ..   Not Computers.
Authoriation applies ONLY to Computers... of which there is a Limit of 5 per Apple ID.
If the issue is with iTunes on your Windows Computer... Perhaps you need to Re-install iTunes...

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    You said:
No, I do not want to "factory reset" my iPod. No I do not wish to do anything crazy long or hard to fix this.
That may be necessary, It is not what you want to do/not do but what is required to resolve your problem.

  • Issue with sync error: Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action.

Hi, i have just recently started having an issue with Sync on my desktop. My associated Android and Mac Laptop do not experience any issues when attempting to sync, but the desktop constantly gives the same error. I have tried unpairing the desktop, clearing all files, restarting and then adding the desktop to sync once again, but the error persists.
All of the bookmarks on the desktop have vanished, but are still in my sync data and have no problems being viewed on the other paired devices. This also tells me that the issue isn't the sync server and is something unique to the desktop machine.
I am hoping that this won't require a reinstall, but if all else fails, it is an option. I will try to attach a log file once i have submitted the question.

I agree. Too many issues lately with sync errors and flash crashes. I'm going back to Google Chrome for a few months. Don't have time to be bothered with the nonsense and slow fixes.

  • Issues With Syncing With Outlook Calendar, Please Help...

    Windows Vista
    DM 6.0 (latest Version)
BlackBerry Bold 9000 4.6 (Latest version of 4.6 before it came 5.0)
    Outlook 2007 Calendar
I am currently have a Intellisync Issue with syncing with my Outlook Calendar.
When I try to go and set it up, it asks me which way I would like to sync (two ways, from BB to outlook, from out look to BB)
When I click on next, this error message comes up. Then the program just crashes and then I get back to the DM 6.0 software.
Anyone can give me pointers on trying to fix this.
    Thanks!

    FIRST click on “reset settings” (if it is grayed out and does not allow you to reset; just go to next step) Click on Configure settings; check off calendar; as soon as you check it the next screen just pops up It says select a device application; then scroll and select Microsoft Outlook; Click Next and then pick which way you are going to sync If it is the first time just use One way sync from outlook to device. Click next; Click transfer only future items selected; click next then finish; Should see the final screen with top box out of three checked off. Click ok Click sync at bottom right of page. I found that if I went to slow (since I was making this sheet) that I would get the error message sometimes. I would just start over; FIRST ALWAYS RESET SETTINGS; then just follow all the steps again . Then should sync Once it is finished you will be back where you started from It is a good idea to click on Reset settings now before you close out. When you go in again click follow the steps from the top of the page. FIRST click on “reset settings” (if it is grayed out and does not allow you to reset; just go to next step) Click on Configure settings;

  • I own an iPhone 4s come across a problem with syncing music to my phone.

I own an iPhone 4s and I have recently come across a problem with syncing music to my phone. Whenever I try to sync it, nine or ten songs get synced then the sync cancels. It only syncs the first song on each album but not for all of them, some of the albums don't sync at all. I have been dealing with this problem for a while. I have updated iTunes to the newest update and iOS 7 to the newest update.

Well, the fact is, you have a carrier locked iPhone...locked to Verizon, to be specific. The only way that phone will work is if it is first activated on Verizon's network. Once you do that, you can then request that Verizon unlock the sim slot. However, once Verizon unlocks the sim slot, I doubt you'll be able to get the phone to work with any GSM carrier in the US. The unlocking of the sim slot is done for International travel outside of the US.
If you want to use Straight Talk, your best bet is to sell this phone & use the proceeds to purchase an officially unlocked iPhone 4S directly from Apple.
    Good luck.

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

  • Issues with Zune music player pausing/stopping

So the main reason I got this was for the Zune music player.  Has anyone else had issues with the music player pausing automatically?  I was using it on a run and it worked fine for a while, then the songs would keep pausing automatically after about 10 seconds.  I gave up after unpausing it like 20 times and finished my run in silence.  Then today I was listening to the radio, everything was fine for 30 minutes or so, then it shut off.  I took it out of my pocket and brought up the radio tuner, and it wouldn't let me change the station, it would just exit out of the screen automatically.  Now, several hours later, it seems to be working fine.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?  Is there a firmware upgrade or something I can run?  Or do I just have a defective unit?

This is not a common problem, from what I've read. So if it were my device, I would get a warranty exchange. The Zune player is the best feature, so I wouldn't put up with the pauses you're describing.

  • I'm having issues with syncing my music.

Recently, I upgraded my computer to Windows 7, from Vista. I've recovered all my music, and ringtones from my old windows. Supposedly authorised my new Windows for syncing. I currently have 19 GBs of music on my phone, which I'm reducing to 16.2 GBs.. but everytime I go to sync my music. It keeps telling me that it requires 16.5 GBs, which means it's not erasing the music already on my phone..? It won't let me access its music through my computer or iTunes (via manual music adding or whatever it's called) .. I don't know how to clear the music. When it shows the summary, there's no music data, until I click the music tab where the 19 GBs show up again. Help??

With the device connected, if you select the music tab and have "Sync Music" checked, you must manage music from that tab.
If you do not want to manage music that way, uncheck the "Sync Music" option then on the Summary tab you must check the "manage media manually" option.

  • Problems with syncing music files.

Hi there, i have an Iphone 4 running IOS 7.0.4 and have been experiencing problems whilst attempting to sync music files onto my iphone.
The tracks i want are shown perfectly fine in my library and play perfectly well. My iphone is set to sync my whole library to the phone, but when i sync my phone, it says the songs i want are on the phone, but have grey dotted circles next to them. Then when i disconnect the phone from my computer, there is no sign of them. I have been experiencing this problem for about a day now and would really appreciate any help anyone can provide.
    Many thanks,
    Chris Kanikula

    Hi Chris,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The grey dotted circle means the songs have not synced over to your iPhone.
Is it possible that you don't have enough room on your iPhone for your entire music library?
I would suggest following the instructions below to setup manual syncing, remove the songs that you are having issues with, and resync them.
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod

You can also download songs you have purchased directly to your iPhone:

  • Issue with synced videos

I have a 120 GB Classic, and some of the videos I have synced do not play completely. The iPod lops off the last minute or two of each file. It's not all the files, just certain ones.
    Rebooting/resetting the iPod didn't work.
Deleting and reinstalling the files in iTunes AND the iPod, then re-syncing, in iTunes didn't work.
Resetting the "end time" in EACH file didn't work.
I'm out of ideas. Anyone else care to take a crack at it?

Okay, I don't know if this will help anyone else, but I figured out MY issue at least. It turns out it wasn't an issue with the iPod at all, it was an issue with the programs I was using to convert.
Apparently, there is a SLIGHT difference between an straight MPEG4 format and an iPod format. There were two different settings in my programs. One for an MPEG4 and one for an iPod (and before anyone asks yes I did try to use the "convert to iPod" function in iTunes, and it said it was already in the proper format).
Once I re-converted the files into the "iPod" setting they all worked just fine. So I guess if you are converting home movies, etc. for your iPod, double checkyour programs. There may be a seperate setting for iPods.
    Hope this helps.

  • Issue with playing music in itunes

I recently just got iTunes on my new HP Vista laptop. When I used an external harddrive to move my music from my other computer to the laptop all was fine. When i put the songs and albums up in itunes and tried to play it, it would not play. The buttons were in position for it to play, it was just physically not moving or playing at all. To test to see if my song files were ok i tried to play the file in windows media player, they appeared to be playing but no sound was being made(mute wasn't on and my sound for the computer is fine, drivers and all). I have no clue if I accidently deleted something vital for the playing of sound files or something, i do know i did delete alot of the extra unnecessary stuff HP had preinstalled on the notebook and could've possibly deleted something used for the sound of song files. I'm usually a dell person so i'm not completely familiar with HPs and their functioning, but i have a HP Pavilion dv6500 special edition. I'm aware this model had issues with sound and audio but i mean my sound is working fine its just that when i try and use a program like itunes to play the song it physically doesn't play it, it just idles(the song's progess bar does't move and is at 0:00 when its set to play and no sound is made. If anyone knows what might be the problem, i'm all ears

  • Latest 12.1.1.4 itune updates has issues with syncing to iPhone 6 Plus

I was one of those folks wary of upgrading to iTunes 12 at first but once I did I actually liked it. I especially liked the fact that my frequent syncing problems seemed to have gone away.
Sadly, these problems came back with 12.1.1.4. For the life of me, the latest iTunes version would not recognize my iPhone 6 Plus or it did but when you tried to apply a sync, it lost visibility of my phone.
In exasperation I tried to get the older version from the Apple Website but for reasons that boggle my mind, they no longer had the 64 bit version of 12.0.1. Only the 32 bit version which would not install on my 64 bit Windows 8 OS.
I was able to find  a 64 bit version of 12.0.1 on some other site I found while googling (and this is why I have a virus checker. :-P) and re-installing that worked great. As soon as I ran it, it recognized my iPhone and I could sync like a fiend.
Has anyone come across this issue with 12.1.1.4? I am staying pat with 12.0.1 until Apple fixes the issue.
I know that bugs will happen in software but given the level of importance of syncing ones phone, this really is a feature that needs to be rock solid. Not only that, but the older versions of the software really need to be properly available on the Apple Web site.
