Issue with the App Store showing up blank.

Issue with the App Store, it will not let me search for new apps. The screen is blank. The update section and features section works, but it will not let me search for new apps. I have restarted my phone and no changes. The newest update to the iphones when the iphone 5 came out, i think, messed up this app. When i am looking at how to fix it, it tells me to delete it and try again, but the App store is not a deletable app. Any ideas why my App store, specifically the search section of this app doesn't work?

I suspect it is on Apple's side of things. Mine was blank too, but now it works again. Fixed itself one morning.

Have you tried contacting iTunes Support and asking them ? We are fellow users here on these forums, it could be due to a number of reasons, we won't know which one.

I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you.

Open the latest version of iTunes.
Choose Store > Sign In from the Store menu.

An app I downloaded is no longer showing up on my screen. The app store shows thar it needs to be updated, but the update bottom is colored light, not dark.

I downloaded Pandora a while back. My 12 year old nieces were playing with my iPad and now the Pandora icon is not on my screen. The app store shows that it needs to be updated, but I can't do it. What can it do to recover my Pandora program?

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, my query is not so much about the sale of the company and the dream. I agree with you on that point. Good for them. My frustration is that this old app has now caused a glitch in my Apple App Store icon. I have a red badge with one update and it is referring to the old app that has been sold that needs to be updated. When I try to update the app it says no longer available for purchase. So I have since deleted that app in hopes that it would resolve the red badge issue. It has not. Somehow, that old app and the new app with the same name but by a different company has caused the glitch. I have reset all settings on my iPad, I have rebooted, I have deleted the app and still the red badge with the one update for the old app is there. Hmmm. . . I guess I need to take this into the Genius bar or wait for ios 7 in hopes that it will fix the glitch. Thanks again for your help.

Apple is having server problems affecting App Store, iTunes, iCloud, etc…
Check the Apple Service Status(***) page… http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ Wait for all systems to show green.
Here is what Apple's message says…
Multiple Store Services - All users are affected
     Customers may be unable to make purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store,
     iBooks Store, or Mac App Store.
iCloud Mail - All users were affected
     Users may have been unable to access iCloud mail.
iCloud Account & Sign In - All users were affected
     Users may have been unable to sign in.
This means no downloads, updates, iCloud and other issues. You may get pop-up windows asking you for password for iCloud, etc…
Try again after it's all green on status page.

Under my billing information it keeps telling me my security's code on my credit card is wrong and it's not I've also tried another card and the same thing! My cards are up to date and I've changed my Username is there something wrong with the app store?

Well that basically means you need to talk to your bank. You have tried using your card information so many times that it is blocked so you can use any credit card you want it will not go through. Speak to your bank first then speak to itunes through the expresslane and they can release your account if it is block on Apple's end. It is a security measure just in case it is not you using your card.

Have you tried signing out of your iTunes & App Store on your device and then back in again - Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on Apple ID, then on Sign Out. Then sign in again and see if it accepts the password.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the Slide to Unlock screen will display. See if the problem is resolved.

Sorry, its on both my iphone 4s (2 iphones) and ipad2 that the app store is slow, I have done all the above and still when i download a 1 mb app it take about a half a hour just to download and previously it wasn't even a second. When browsing the web the devices are fast and internet speed is good, but when going in to app store it takes long to load and show me the new app, updates, featured app ect. We watch movie online and the streaming is brilliant. Even on my windows pc the app store is slow and sometimes says that i store could not be opened, i have also tried on my buddies wifi and there it does exactly the same which makes me think that its on apples side, but why do you not have any problems?

Use the developers site for any software demo/download/purchase that is of a substancial cost amount to you.
You DON'T want to deal with Apple's semi-English speaking India call center if you have a issue. TRUST ME!

How do you file a complaint with the App store?

Does anyone know how to file a complaint with the app-store people? This may sound really childish but PlayFirst has a series of games called Dream Chronicles available in the app store. They're listed as free then in the description they tell you of course you can "try it free then download the full version from inside the game". Recently they released Dream Chronicles: The Eternal Maze available for "free" in the app store with no mention of the "try it free then download the full version from inside the game". It may be petty but I consider this false advertising since their other games tell you it's not the full game.

What iOS is curently on your iPod (Setting>Genral>About>Version) you need as lest 2.0 for apps but most apps need 3.0 or later.

If you have never used the Apple ID to make purchases from iTunes or the Mac App Store you need to follow the steps to create an account with that Apple ID.

Just installed Mac OS X 10.8.5 on a Mac Pro 2010 platform. The App Store shows there is an upgrade, so I click the download button. After about 2 hrs the process stops and an Error (102) appears on the screen. Any idea what goes wrong? THX

If the App Store is showing 10.8.5 as an update, what do you currently have installed? The final update to Mountain Lion was 10.8.5, and since the basic OS installation of Mountain Lion is no longer offered in the App Store, that would suggest you're currently at an earlier version of Mountain Lion - 10.8.x where x=less than 5. If that's the case, I'd suggest getting the 10.8.5 update. There is also a Supplemental Update for 10.8.5 and that may be what the App Store is offering.
