Issue with the battery....

Recently I have noticed my mac's battery is running out quite fast. I have checked the activity monitor and quit any programs with a high CPU% but there still seems to be an issue.
In an hour my battery can go from 100%- 65% in an hour. I'm not watching movies, just browsing the net. I'm not downloading anything either.
Here is my battery info;

BMB1989,
then when it was new, your battery had a capacity of around 5800 mA·h — so it’s currently at 83.5% of its original capacity. Apple considers a battery “consumed” when it reaches 80% of its original capacity, and their estimate is that this happens at around 1000 cycles. Since you have 429 cycles so far, that means that your battery has lost capacity well above Apple’s predicted rate.

Until the issue with iTunes recognizing the device is resolved, there is no way to update it.

  • Issue with the Battery on my N9, after 1.2 update.

Right, since the 1.2 battery I'll be lucky to be at 20% after eight hours at work.
I've got facebook and twitter notifications enabled.
    No RSS feeds.
    Calendar syncing. (hourly)
    No email.
3G is always on, alternatively wi-fi.
I text most of the day, maybe 4-5 messages an hour max while I'm at work.
I don't do any browsing while at work, don't use the GPS.. it just sits there and I text.
Before the 1.2 update, with this usage profile, I was able to get 2 days of battery out of this.
I tried removing all apps, didn't make a bit of difference.
I reset the device settings, no change.
Looking at battery usage monitor, my device appears to idle at 161mA, which is only 6 mA lower than my avg current consumption.
As I'm writing this, the phone has discharged from 80 to 73% in 34 minutes, which seems like a lot. It's been idle for 72% of those 34 minutes.
Looking at the "top energy consumers" page, Device idle is currently responsible for 65% of the battery drain, whilst MeeGo System is at 19%. Everything else is at 5% or lower. All I want is to be able to get a days use out of this phone. As it stands, I'm not even able to take it out and go nuts with the camera, for fear of losing all the battery and rendering it useless.
Prior to the update I was able to nab photos, GPS a bit and write plenty of texts, and while it'd require a charge by the time I had to go to bed - it would handle it fine. Anyone else experiencing this? Any tips? Anything I can do?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

My N9 battery is completely drained in just 6 hours. Today the Average Idle Consumption shows that it was 64mAh. I don't know what cause the problem. I'm just sending a text message. No WiFi activity. But when connected to the WiFi, the battery won't last up to 5 hours. Sometime it reach up to 80-90mAh when connected to the WiFi. I'm running on a GSM connection. I don't use the 3G.
This happens since the PR1.1 but it getting worst and worst since PR1.2.

  • HT1483 has anyone had issues with the battery charging then dying with in 15 minutes thanks

Hello friends wondering if anyone has charging issues where the ipod 4 charges and seems to die after 15 minutes. thanks

Well i feel in this case you need to upgrade the firmware of your router. You can Download  frjmware.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
Also make sure that your computer is set to obtain IP automatically, disable any firewalls, security softwares on the computer before trying to access the setup page...

  • Had an issue with the battery, the iStore genius got it working.  Trying to restore from itunes.  It syncs, then stops. I get a 'clink'...but now what?

I was able to restore from itunes.  I could see the application updating all of the apps.  The phone 'clinks' - now what do I do?  the only option on the phone is 'Back', which takes me to the update options of restore from iCloud or iTunes.  Based on what I could see in itunes, I thought it was completed?  Is there something else I am supposed to do...???

  • Would a flash storage issue affect the battery being charge?

I received a notice about my macbook air and defective flash storage. I brought my macbook into an apple store on Saturday to have the firmware updated. Since then my macbook has been unable to charge the battery with the adaptor plugged in. I am wondering if the flash storage has anything to do with this?  I have not had an issue with the battery charging or not charging before this.

  • I've been having problems with the battery draining within half an hour of it being fully chargers. I have an iPhone 5c and haven't had it for long. How do I get the troubleshoot email to check it out? iPhone 5c

I have been having issues with my battery capacity. The battery will drain within half an hour with it being fully charged when the battery normally lasts me all day. I haven't had the phone that long so it most definitely shouldn't be happening. I went to my service provider about the problem and he said to go into the apple website, click "support" and then "battery capacity issues" to which you then type in your email to troubleshoot the problem on your phones however, I cannot find this. Someone help me out!

He may have been referring to: https://www.apple.com/support/contact/

  • Problems with the battery

    Dear Apple Support Team,
My name is Irene Yankelevich and I come from Belarus. I am writing to you to tell the long story of my sufferings with the MacBook that I have purchased while in the US last year. I sincerely hope that there is something that could be done in order to rid me of the constant disappointments with using this computer.
Let me start with a short preface, so as you, too, could understand the reasons for my inner frustration and helplessness.
I have already mentioned that I was in the US last summer (2006) on Work&Travel exchange program. I worked hard all summer, and by the end of my stay I could finally afford a laptop computer of which I dreamt night and day for the last year. I spent 2 months trying to make a decision as to what computer I should pick out, and decided to go with MacBook. It appealed to me with its design and looks, as well as the operating system. I must stress at this point that my only concern at the time was the fact that if there are any repairs needed in the future, it will be quite difficult to get the computer fixed in Belarus. However, I trusted the brand name and some of the reviews on the Web and believed that the issue will never arise anyway, so I shouldn't worry. But...
It all started in December 2006, when I was on my way to Poland. I was watching movies on the train, so my battery went completely dead. It took me some 8 hrs to get to the first power plug and feed my 'hungry baby', but how much was I surprised and shocked to see that first of all the indicator light went green instead of orange and the battery indicator looked like a black cross, saying that there are no batteries detected (see the attachments for a vivid explanation 'indic_light' and battery'). I am sure you have heard the story before, so I will not go into more detail on the looks of things. I then went ahead and googled the problem. To my greatest grief and disappointment I found out that there were lots of others like me, and all of them claimed that the only solution was to get a battery replacement. I could do it for free if I were in the STates, but I wasn't. So I saved some money and ordered a new battery through my host family in the Stated. It took another month and a half for it to get to Belarus, but it finally did. I was happier than ever, read the instructions and inserted the new battery. But oh BUMMER!!! the computer wouldn;t even turn on.
I was frustrated even more than before, because now it occurred to me that my problem could be different from that of everyone else. I researched more and found out that there is a company claiming that they are a certified Apple center in Belarus, called Beliy Terem. I called them up, set up an appointment and brought my computer there hoping to get some advice. My laptop is still in its warranty period, so they agreed to examine it for free, but asked me to leave it for a day. It was probably the longest day in my life, but I managed to survive and came back to get my laptop back fixed. It was only then that I discovered they could not do anything, They claim to have tested both the batteries, and they were both defective. I asked them wether they tried to put other batteries (for sure working) into my computer, but they said it was too risky. Therefore, there was no guarantee whatsoever that the problem really was not inside the computer itself. They also offered to deal with the battery exchange (saying that it would take half a year to get the new ones), or to break the warranty period by taking the computer apart. I wasn't ready for any of these, and decided to take the computer home.
It has been 3 and a half month since my computer is not working without a power plug, which is pretty problematic for my lifestyle. I have no idea what to do or where to go, and to tell you the truth am a little disappointed in the way things have been working out for me and my Apple friend..
There are 2 more issues. I never dropped the MacBook or hit it or anything of a kind. But for some reason two cracks appeared on it. I am attaching a picture of those as well.
I am returning to the States in early July for a week. Is there something you could do to get my faith in Apple back? It is still on warranty ( I purchased it in early August)
Hoping to hear from you soon,
    Irene Yankelevich

  • IPhone 5 shuts down with the battery at 40%

I'm having issues with my iPhone 5. It regularly shuts down with the battery being far from 0%. When I took it to the apple store, a "genius" said that the battery is fine and restored the phone to the factory settings. I set it up as new without touching the backup (with iOS 8), but the iPhone keeps shutting down with a half charged battery. If anythings, the problem only became worse with iOS 8.1. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix it.
The iPhone is out of the warranty and is not eligible for battery replacement. Another issue I have is that the home button often responds with a delay, but I don't know if it's related to the main problem.
    Thanks

Here's the battery info from iBackupBot:
    CycleCount: 368
    DesignCapacity: 1430
    FullChargeCapacity: 1200

ipod nano 7th generation having issues with the UI. Out of box everything worked great. Once I snyc the device and it finished, the UI becomes unuesable. You have to double tap every icon in order to open music, videos, etc.  I cannot swipe to the second page of icons,  black box appears around an icon and then switches to a different one anytime I swipe. A box even appears around the time and battery power. iPod & iTunes are both updated. What is the FIX on this issue?

I had this problem as well.  This is what I found by searching online.  I tried the fix on my nano 7th gen and it worked.  I hope this helps you.  Make sure to use two fingers for sliding and double-click the icons to get into settings.  Good luck.
It would seem that Voiceover has been enabled on your iPod Nano. The following article contains information regarding Voiceover, and how to disable it once it's been enabled.
iPod nano (6th generation and later): How to use VoiceOver
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4317
To turn off VoiceOver on iPod nano using VoiceOver gestures
From the Home Screen, swipe right or left with two fingers until you see or hear "Page 2 of 2" on iPod nano (7th generation) or "Settings" on iPod (6th generation).
If the icons have been rearranged, or if there are more than four Home screens, you may hear something different.
Slide one finger around the screen until you hear Settings.
    Double-tap to open Settings.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear General, then double- tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear Accessibility, then double-tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear VoiceOver, then double-tap.
Double-tap when you hear "VoiceOver switch button on."
You'll hear "VoiceOver off" to confirm the setting. Now you can use standard gestures to control iPod nano.
Note: You can also turn off VoiceOver by resetting your iPod.

  • Is anyone having problems with the battery drains quickly and the iphone4 heats up in use and in charging after upgrading to 5.1.1?

Is anyone having problems with the battery drains quickly and the iphone4 heats up in use and in charging after upgrading to 5.1.1?

I have had the same problem but I seem to be getting somewhere to fixing it!!! My battery was going down at 20% an an hour now its 10% with constant use and 5 in standby !!! So improvement all round
First I did a restore then I drained the battery i started to charge it and when it came on I turned the phone off completely and let it charge to 100% I then left it for a couple of hours on charge at 100. I saw no improvement after 1st drain so I repeated the drain battery and charge steps again with the phone turned off when charging and have seen a very big improvement. I am going to do it again tonight and hopefully problem solved!!!!
The next issue is iMessage as that's playing up and wifi drop out
    Good luck

What is your brightness setting & how many apps are open?
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. When you "Restore from a Time Machine Backup.", the drive will be erased for you, but yes, won't hurt to:
Boot into Recovery (hold ⌘R on boot)
Utility->Disk Utility->Erase Macintosh HD, then Repair Macintosh HD
    Quit Disk Utility
Then Select: Restore from a Time Machine Backup.
