Issue working with WPF client v6.1.0.3 for SAP Service Manager 4.0

Issue Description :
1. We installed WPF client 6.1.03 for SAP Service Manager 4.0 using SMP 2.3 SP00. We got the below error
2. To solve this error we followed the forum - http://scn.sap.com/thread/3465106 and installed the certificate following the link for installing the self signed certificate from Sybase infocenter.
3. We came to know that this is due to the SMP version. hence as suggested by SAP we upgraded the server to SMP 2.3 SP03
4. We tried to connect the WPF client and again got the error "Communication error 14"
My Question is
1. After the server upgrade from SP2.3 SP03 , do I still need to generate a certificate again ? Is yes Please guide me the steps/document to do this step
2. Is there any document which mentions how exactly we use the WPF client, the configuration to connect the SAP backend and download the Syclo Service Manager 4.0 application without any issue

I tested with the WPF client 6.1.3.X.
I was getting a different error with the host name "Connect to server myhostname certificate is for myhostname:domain name this is not valid. Commnication error(14)
However I got the solution in one of the link where they mention to provide the complete fully qualified domain name in the server ie myhostname:domain .
This has solved the issue and the WPF client is up and running.

Issue working with page sets

Hi all
I've been trying to solve the following issue without much luck:
I need to set up a form that has different master pages according to how many pages it has(ie: the first page has a header, the last page has a footer, and if there's only one page it has both the header and the footer)
I've been trying to solve this problem using page sets, but unfortunately I haven't had much luck in defining which page set is used in which situation.
Any help pointing me in the right direction or towards an article discussing this would be greatly appreciated, as I have been unable to find anything useful regarding this issue.

Can a program compilied with 32 libraries work with Instant Client 64 bit?

We are compiling our program on IBM AIX 5L and HP-UX PA_RISC with 32 libraries (using ORACLE_HOME/lib32)
for AIX and HP-UX RISC the only available Instant Client 10gR2 is 64 bit. there is no 32 version.
can a program compilied with 32 libraries work with Instant Client 64 bit?

64 bit clients can be downloaded from here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/dotnet/downloads/index.html
That said, Visual Studio itself is 32 bit, so if you want the developer tools to work, you'll need a 32 bit client. If you're not using the developer tools in your project and you're compiling your project for AnyCPU or x64, the 64 bit client will work. If you're compiling for x86, you need the 32 bit client. (If you want to do both, you'll need two clients installed.)
edit - Actually, it looks like in this case you might be running into a problem of needing a 32 bit client & ODBC connection. The error mesage could be misleading here as Visual Studio itself is 32 bit. Did you create the ODBC connection using control panel? If so, that's a 64 bit connection.
32 bit ones are created using c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe

Cannot get ODBC to work with Instant Client

Hi,
I am having problems getting ODBC working with instant client. This is what I have done so far:
1. I installed Instant Client from this page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/winsoft-085727.html
The file I downloaded was: instantclient-basic-win32-10.2.0.3-20061115.zip
2. Next, I installed SQL*Plus with this file: instantclient-sqlplus-win32-10.2.0.3-20061115.zip
Now I have SQL*Plus working with instant client.
3. After that I downloaded instantclient-odbc-win32-10.2.0.3-20061115.zip for ODBC.
4. I unzipped the odbc zip file into the Instant Client folder and ran odbc_install.exe. Now I have 'Oracle in instantclient 10_2' showing up in the drivers tab of ODBC Data Source Administrator.
5. Now, if I try to add add a DSN and choose 'Oracle in instantclient 10_2' as the data source, I get an error "ODBC Administrator has stopped working" (http://i50.tinypic.com/jifl2g.png)
I can add DSNs using any other data source without problems. The aforementioned error comes up only when I use 'Oracle in instantclient 10_2' as the data source.
Can someone please let me know how to resolve this?
I am running Windows Vista Business edition 32-bit.

Two dimensions of compatibility/requirements:
Vertically - This is your application, APIs, .Net, operating system etc. that may define requirements on Oracle Client version, and vice versa.
Horisontally - "on the wire" or connectivity wise - Oracle certifies client - server interoperability at least two releases or major versions back/apart, so yes, 10.2 is/was* supported. See MOS interoperability matrix for your specific case.
(*was since 10.2 Database is out of support or even Extended support by now. Perhaps it is time to upgrade the server side also ;-))

Failed to generate client proxy from WSDL definition for this service

Hi,
I am using Weblogic 8.1 SP1. I created a webservice which takes a XMLBean object
as parameter and returns another XMLBean object. The web service works fine when
tested using the workshop's test browser but when i am trying to generate a client
proxy trough the workshop's test browser, it displays this warning:
Failed to generate client proxy from WSDL definition for this service
and does not generate the proxy.
I'll appreciate any thoughts on this.

Why CUA (Release 7.00) is Not Working with Old Clients(Release 4.6C, 4.5B)?

Hi all,
We have CUA (release 7.00) that is not working with older release clients. I implemented 2 release 7.00 clients to CUA; they both work fine. However, when I implement some older release clients (like, 4.5B, 4.6C, 6.20 and 6.40) to CUA, I can only create ID and pull out to client, but roles do not go through.
It is kind of argent.
Do anyone know how to fix it????

I think you meant "ardent"...

Anyway, sounds like faulty config or perhaps a problem with logical system assignment.
Have you checked that? Also check in SCUL?
That you can create users but not assign roles might also be that in the lower release systems they are checking activity 22 (assighn) AND 02 (change) to assign the role. Doesn't make sense, really....
Check the drop down menu in table PRGN_CUST for the option to change this, and compare whether the settings are different.

Issue working with states (FW CS5)

Hi all,
Here's my thing: when I save a file and open it up again some time later, all the pages will be set in in the first state (which is shown at the top of the states panel). That's very inconvenient for me. I'd like the page to stay in the state in which I put it. Is there a solution or a workaround?
Another thing what's happening when I open up a saved document, is that some objects don't show themselves when I activate a different state of the page where the object is placed upon. It's showing up only after double clicking the object (and open up the object view, the page is grayed out) and the return to the page view. Pretty unhandy.
Also when saving: FW will always show the first page in the document, not the last page I've worked on. I'd like it to see that specific page.
Any help would be appreciated very much.

thanks for your reply, but it doesn't solve my problem. I'm not putting pages on states. I do add states to pages. My main issue now is this:

It's very important for me to resolve this, since other people working with my file otherwise only see white space instead of objects.

Cx_Oracle dosen't work with Thin Client

Is there an alternative to the Fat- & Thin-Client installation to get cx_Oracle running.
I would like to tell my custommersomething like "install Addon XY in addition to the Thin-Client akording to the Oracle Vresion you are using."
I Know of the possibility to enhance a Thin-Clinet installation by copying certain files and folders from the server.
But our Application should work for manny custommers, with different Oracle-Versions. And we just can't expect a DBA
to let him do all needed Steps to get cx_oracle running.

AFAIK with the same cx_Oracle's source code you can build versions for different oracle's clients (at least in my experience it always asked me my $ORACLE_HOME and $LD_LIBRARY_PATH and the setup.py handles different oracle's version). It might work with 9i, 10g and 11g (I wouldn't risk to talk about 8i).
Besides that Oracle instant client is free to distribute (see here) so you can bundle it with your code. I can imagine it would be pretty easy to build it in *unix although I'm not sure bout Windows -for lack of experience with that particular OS-.

Cannot work with two client side applications at the same time!!

I developed two client side applications(applets). Locate the on Apache/Tomcat. There is also a Index.html file with two links, so when user clicks on each link the associated application will downloaded on his PC and ready to work. (In index.html I used window.open(�) to load the applications)
Now please see this scenario:
1-I ran/loaded both application in two separate browsers(IE5.5). And tried to work with them(minimized one and work with another). Soon I faced unexpected frizzing/locking or very slow running on both applications.
2-Then closed/killed one of them(killed IE). Then re-executed same application again. The application loaded with the last activated screen . Seems it never killed and it was still alive.
3- The only way to successfully working is one by one.
means execute & work with one, then kill that, and then execute and work with another.
To Debug:
When both applications were running(each on it�s own IE), I opened the Task Manager and saw there was only one IEXPLORER.EXE was running, also there was only one Java VM (a small bird icon) on right-bottom of the screen.
I believe this causes the problem. seems they both running in the same session. Since I opened two applications in two IE I was expected to see two IEXPLORER.EXE with two JVM. Am I right? Do you think so?
Any way, Now I am seeking to find the solution. My primary mind says probably I should not use window.open(..) in index.html to load the applications.
Would appreciate any command on this.

Roaming profiles did not work with Novell client

I've Problems with roaming profiles.
It is perhaps not a Novell problem but anything with windows rights?
We use ZCM11: (Server: SLES11 SP1)
Client new PC with a freshly installed Windows7, all updates.
(Only Turn on file and printer sharing, anything else default, no virusscanner)
The pre-agent has been installed and then the the Novell Client 2SP1 IR7
The PC gets a "Dynamic Local User Policy" with the settings:
- Use the credentials of the user source
- (Manage existing user account - but we have none there)
- Volatile user (with no cache, meaning that the user is immediately deleted ... We have also tested with cache.)
- e-dir user should be only member of Users
The users from edir get a Roaming Profile Policy with:
- Store user profile in user's Home Directory. (which is on the OES/SLES server)
---- results ----
If the user has no centrally stored profile, then he can log on but just once!
(if "Enable Volatile User cache" also several times to the same PC)
If the user already has a stored profile, he can not log on Error: "The Group Policy client service failed the logon Access is denied"
In my view, the following happens. W7 create the user locally and want's put in the settings from a central profile in the local
Profile and can not do that.
Only when no "central profile" is there in the homedir, or if this profile does not contain the file ntuser.dat, the user can log in locally.
However, no files are used from te saved profile, for instance from the saved desktop.
I can not imagine that anyone around the world with ZCM11 on a SLES/OES Server don't use the Novell client and raoming profiles
It must therefore give a simple trick to solve the problem.
But which one? Can some one here help me?

HELP - PULL-DOWN ISSUE WORKING WITH ARCHIVAL FILM IN 24P

Bear with me here... I'm working on a historical doc for a local PBS station. Camera footage was originated using the HDX 200 in 720p-24n. Much of the program uses old 16mm film that's been xfer'd to an uncompressed video file using the 16mm "Sniper" (a psuedo-telecine transfer system. The system scans the film frames into a pc one at a time and stores the images as a single movie file using a proprietary codec). You can tell the Sniper's software what frame rate the original film footage was shot at - i.e. 18fps, 24fps and so-on. However, when you export it back out it only outputs to a 29.97 interlaced file.
Here's the problem: The film I'm working with was originated at 18fps - not 24. But, I'm working with a 24p sequence. I need to convert the footage so that it plays cleanly in a 24p environment. But I can't run it through CT and do a reverse telecine to remove the pull-down because that's designed for footage that was originated at 24fps only. When I try to do it on footage that was shot at 18fps, I end up with a wierd flashing/banding thing as it tries to apply a 24 frame pull-down to an 18 frame image.
I'm thinking that there has to be a plug-in either for FCP, CT or for the Sniper that can work a pull-down from 18fps film to 24p video.
Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, I thoought of that. But I kinda wanted to keep the program in native 24p if I could.
If I did it that way, wouldn't I have to go ahead and edit the program in 24p, then export it out at 29.97, then re-import it into a 29.97 Sequence and finally add the archive material?

I am a confused person trying to buy the right Xmas present. He has a video i-pod (one year old) and brand new shuffle for his stocking. However the old speakers on his 6 month old desktop (no idea what model) have blown so I was thinking of getting him the i-pod Hi Fi but will it work with his desktop too? Do I need to buy any other cables etc? If not, any recommendations as what would work well for both but not take up too much space?

Just an additional information
The connection will be as follows:-
a) The iPod Video plug on the top of the iPod HiFi (docking)
b) He can use his audio cable between his blowed old speakers and computer, for connection between his computer with the back of iPod HiFi (audio input)
Then he can select between the playback of these two devices by press and holding the Menu button on the remote.
Regarding the new shuffle, you can buy a mini-jack splitter and plug it on the back of the iPod HiFi (audio input), one connect to his computer and one with his shuffle, of course you can connect without this splitter, he can either use it for computer or shuffle.
Note : iPod Hi-Fi has a digital/analog audio input port. You can use it to play music from an iPod that doesn’t have a dock connector or from other audio devices, such as a CD player, stereo receiver, or computer. If you have an AirPort Express Base Station, you can connect it to iPod Hi-Fi and play music from a computer in another room using AirTunes. You connect audio devices or an older iPod using an audio cable with a standard 3.5 mm stereo miniplug. Query on Vehicle Stock Transfer/Transport issue in SAP Service Manager 4.0

I am working on Syclo Service Manager4.0 with vehicle component along with SMP 2.3 SP03
While testing the vehicle component Stock transfer and Stock Transport I got some error related to the Bapi wrappers
When checked in the logs the correct Bapi wrapper are being called ie /SMCRM/MM_DOMATERIALSTOCK_GET and /SMCRM/MM_DOPURCHASEORDER_GET
Internally it is making call to /SMERP/MM_DOMATERIALSTOCK_GET and SMERP/MM_DOPURCHASEORDER_GET which is not existing in the SAP system.
Below is the log for the two errors which I received :

Looks like your missing RFC destination "SSM40_ERP_IM_HOST" on CRM system. Create RFC destination from CRM to ECC with "SSM40_ERP_IM_HOST" name or you can choose your own name. Also make sure that trusted system connections are created between CRM & ECC system, so that applicaiton can use same user id as CRM. You also need to additional authorization objects related "S_TRUSTED " added to user role to excute BAPI's on ECC system.   Your Basis folks should be able to help you.
    In order to work with Inventory functionality , all the mobile users will need to have the Authorization Profile ERP_TRUSTED assigned to them . There should be the Trusted RFC connection between CRM and ERP, and the users need this authorization profile in order for them to download their trunk stock and perform the Inventory Transactions from their mobile device.
Authorization object: S_RFCACL
