Issues adding mp4 movies to iTunes

I have previously had several mp4 videos on my iTunes account which I transferred from my laptop , these have all gone from my iTunes and it now doesn't allow any mp4 files to be added

This helped but because I have an Apple computer I just went to File in my menu and clicked "get info" this then allowed me to input the info that I wanted. Your comment at least triggered me to go to the "get Info" section. Thanks
But because you have an Apple computer, why didn't you just right click - get info or Command I as C.F.McBlob suggested?

  • Adding a Movie in iTunes.

when i'm adding a movie in itunes the movie is placed in Homevideo folder i want the movie to be placed in Movie folder.
Why is it placed in Homevideo folder?

The Movies are M2V formated, and have AC3 Audio (Have an AC3 Plugin' and Have Apples MPEG 2 component). So please can anyone help me get Artwork to my Movie in iTunes?
Sorry to say, it is not possible in this case. The ability to add/contain graphic "artwork" in iTunes is a property of the file container here. M4V and MP4 containers, for instance, can contain one such independent graphic. On the other hand, an MOV (assume you saved your M2V/AC3 data as an MOV) file cannot. On the other hand, your MOV file can have a "poster frame." If you are not a "purist," you can get around this problem by simply adding/drag 'n dropping your graphic to an appropriate point in your MOV file (I would recommend the end of the file), setting it as your "poster frame," and saving the file. In iTunes, this "poster frame" will now show up in your "artwork" display locations. (PS -- this is on a separate track as you attempted to do. In QT Pro, pre-position playhead to end of file and add JPEG track last so its layer is above main movie layer.)

  • I'm unable to drag mp4 movies into itunes and sync with ipad after updating to 10.5.2.11 version. I'm using windows 7? I was able to in the previous version, why?

Im unable to drag mp4 movies into itunes and sync to my ipad2 after updating itunes to 10.5.2.11? Im using Windows7. I was able to before this update, why?

I see same question with itunes not accepting mp4 videos and no answers? Has anyone been able to sort this out or is it a software problem being attended by apple? Please reply?

  • Added iPod movie to iTunes - can't find it in the library

I converted a movie for my new iPod, and it seems that the only way to add movies to the iPod is to add them to the iTunes library.
Well, I did that, and the weirdest thing happened. I could add the movie to iTunes, but I couldn't add it to the library, the "plus"-sign didn't show there, but I could add it to one of the playlists. It also got transferred to the iPod, where I can watch it.
Since this was only a short test-clip, I wanted to remove it afterwards. Oops! it was in the library, and iTunes wouldn't even find it with the search-feature. So I re-synced the iPod with iTunes, to see if it was still there....and it was, but where? It was on my iPod, but I still couldn't find it on iTunes.
A search on spotlight revealed it: in the "Recently Added" playlist, but not in the library. Why is that?
After that I tried to delete it, but I couldn't delete it from the playlist. I had to use Spotlight again, and delete it from the finder.
Has anybody an explanation for all this? For now, I'm not adding anymore movies to the iPod, scared to lose some content with this unexpected behavior.

iTunes sorts all of your content into different Libraries depending on how it has been classified, e.g. Movies you download from the iTunes Store go in the Movies Library, Music and Music Videos go in the Music Library, and TV Shows go in the TV Shows Library. In Preference under the tab General there should be some options to show or hide certain Libraries. Make sure that the Movies box is checked and it should be fine.
If that doesn't work, or if it does, please come back and let us know.

  • Unable to import mp4 movies to iTunes 9.2 ver

Hi I'm have some trouble importing mp4 movies I've rip with handbrake into iTunes. I have no problem importing music files such as mp3, but it just would not import movies.
I've tried add file to library, drag and drop into iTunes, nothing works and the confusing part is that there are no error messages!
What do I have to do to move my movie files to iTunes so that I can upload to my iPad?
I do not want to upgrade to iTune v10.
    Look forward to your help.

I am able to import a .ts file into Premiere Elements 10, 11, and 12 Windows 7 64 bit.
But, not so, for Premiere Elements 4, 7, 8, and 9.
And, the reason why your .mp4 conversion did not work would be in accord with the fact that you used AVCHD as the video compression, and AVCHD video compression was not supported by Premiere Elements until version 7.
If you do decide to move to version 12, please note that there is a dramatic difference in workspace between 3 and 12. So, go the free tryout of 12 before any purchase.
You could try to convert the .ts to H.264.mp4 and not AVCHD (MPEG4 AVC/H.264).mp4 and see if that works for you.

  • Unable to drag and drop mp4 movies into itunes but the file will import and play using home sharing

Strange problem with my brothers MacBook.
The movie files were converted to mp4 format ready to be played on an iphone and I imported them into my iTunes on an iMac with no problems.
Files were also saved onto a flash drive which I passed on to my brother.
My brother was unable to import files by drag and drop and also by "add to library", we even copied and pasted files from the flash drive to the desktop but that also didn't work.
Using "home sharing the movies imported and played with no problems.
Any ideas why this is happening?

This appears to be a long-standing bug:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=634720
and the accepted workaround is stated in comment 11.
Oddly, it's possible to do the reverse, i.e. drag multiple eml files from Explorer to a TB folder.

  • I cant add .mp4 movie into itunes

Hello there, I am just wondering why i cant add mp4 moive into my itunes, and I tried to set up automatic adding folder in my pc, but after i drag the moive into the folder, it automaticlly generate a folder called 'NOT ADDED'. I am wondering if there any reason i cant add this moive,it is very small, around 6m.

You can convert .m4p using iTunes.
Make a playlist of files and burn to "audio CD". Use the new .aiff file in your iMovie Project.

  • Issues adding music to my iTunes..

When I go add music to my iTunes I can only highlight 2 at a time and add, If I hight light 3 or more and hit "ok" they do not show up on my list, so im forced to add 2 songs at a time, is there something I can do to change this??

I assume that you mean music files that are not imported by you from a CD.
Here's what I always do, maybe it will do the trick for you too:
    Complete albums:
    1. Place all the files in a folder > Rename the folder to whatever you feels suited.
    2. Select folder > Use the 'Move to' option in windows > select your default iTunes library folder > click OK
    3. In iTunes: File > Add folder to library > select the folder you just placed there > Add/OK
    I hope it works

  • MP4 Movie Files are not added to Itunes Library

I have a Macbook Pro I just recently got a week ago, and I have been using Itunes in Mac OS X, but when I tried to add some of my MP4 movies into Itunes on Mac OS, the files do not appear in the library and there is not copy bar for copying the files into the Itunes folder. I have had this problem ever since I started using Ituens on Mac OS and I tried reinstalling Itunes and the same problem comes up. I know the problem is not with the MP4 files because I added the files into Itunes on Windows XP on my other computer and they are added just fine. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I think I figured out why the MP4 files were not being added into the Itunes Library, it is because Mac OS X apparently cannot copy files onto a Windows Formatted external harddrive, even though I thought I could.

  • Added movie (already converted to mp4 format) to iTunes library in my PC, syncronized to iPad2, now how to locate and play it in iPad2?

Added movie (already converted to mp4 format) to iTunes library in my PC, syncronized to iPad2, now how to locate and play it in iPad2?

On your computer's iTunes if you select that video and do 'get info' (control-I), then on the popup on the Options tab change it's 'Kind' to 'Movie' from 'Home Video'.
To sync it to your iPad, connect the iPad and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and then on the right-hand side use the Movies/Films tab to select and sync it to the iPad's Videos app.

  • Adding Legitimately Purchases MP4's to Itunes Movies?

I have bought a couple of legit mp4 movies from a none apple site. The higher red ones are in Divx so I converted them to mp4.
Then I added them to my itunes movies. I see them on the apple TV and I see them in my finder when I open itunes/music/movies
But when I look in the itunes movies and TV shows they are nowhere to be seen?
    Why is that?

Then I added them to my itunes movies.
    How did you add them?
Did you copy them into the "Movies" folder or import them into your iTunes Library? You need to import them into iTunes using "file > Add to Library".
If you added them to the library but cannot find them, you might try to search for them with a smart playlist:
    File > New Smart Playlist
Then add a rule "Media Kind is Movie"
    or try "Kind contains MPEG-4".
Does this reveal your new movies?
    Regards

  • Trouble streaming .mp4 movies from one iTunes computer to another

I have been unable to stream .mp4 movie files from my computer to another using iTunes. The .mp4 files are sitting on an external usb hard drive. All of the files have been added to iTunes library but not the iTunes folder. I tried changing the .mp4 extensions to .m4v to no success. The files do play in itunes but won't stream between computers. The one computer is running 32bit and the other 64 bit. I also tried placing files into the iTunes music folder and that has also been without success. The only thing I have been able to do is streaming .mp4 files that had to be converted by iTunes so they could be played on an iphone. I have tried streaming with home sharing on and with it off. Does any one have any ideas as to why I can't stream and how I can fix this.

Using Ethernet, I am attempting to stream the movies on my computer to my girlfriends computer through iTunes home sharing. I want to watch the movies that are on one computer on another.
