Issues building openjdk [SOLVED]

I dunno if this has been addressed before but I can't seem to build this package. I downloaded it and used makepkg to try to build it and first I get this message:
==> WARNING: Integrity checks (md5) are missing or incomplete.
Then I get this at the end:
6 errors
make: *** [stamps/extra-class-files.stamp] Error 1
==> ERROR: Build Failed.
    Aborting...
What am I doing wrong? Is there a wiki, another post, or whatnot explaining how to build this?
This is where I got it from:
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=14671
All I really want to do is just have Java working in Firefox 64 bit.

Thanx but its still not working at all. It installed VIA Pacman now but I go to test it and still no Java on Firefox 64.
I also got this at the end of the installation:
warning: directory permissions differ on usr/lib/mozilla/
filesystem: 770  package: 755
warning: directory permissions differ on usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
filesystem: 770  package: 755

• I regularly have 15 MB of Available Memory - Should I upgrade or is there an issue I should solve first? EtreCheck report pasted below

Hello,
My MacBook is running super slow. I downloaded Memory Clean from the App Store and I regularly have 15MB or free memory available.
In Activity Monitor I usually see the following:
~800 MB kernel_task
~500 MB softwareupdated
~500 MB Image Capture Extension
In Console, I see mdworker.bundle errors attributed to UID's: 501, 503, 1422
My current UID from what I can tell is 502. Other UID's left over from various upgrades are 89, 99, 235.
Lastly, Drive Genius is giving me a Drive Integrity Warning. But I can't create a bootable clone.
I have no idea if the above problems are related. I'd like to think I just run a lot of stuff that eats my memory and upgrading the RAM would be the easy path. What say you all?
-Jeff

• [SOLVED] Issues building spotify/spotify-beta. (openssl098!!!)

This is the one thing that is really irritating me. I can't have Spotify on Arch here is my output:
[derek@Trillium ~]$ yaourt -S spotify
==> Downloading spotify PKGBUILD from AUR...

@toffyrn - try spotify-beta, at the moment, it is at the same version as spotify. It appears that this segfault occurs when using the system's qtwebkit. I'm not sure what the difference is, but using ubuntu's qtwebkit (included as part of the package) seems to solve the problem.
Comment by: Ape on Sat, 14 Apr 2012 19:13:13 +0000
I also have similar segfaults with this package. spotify-beta works.
Comment by: pyther on Sat, 14 Apr 2012 19:16:18 +0000
@gadget3000 I would be willing to update and maintain this package if you'd like.
Comment by: gadget3000 on Sat, 14 Apr 2012 19:54:56 +0000
@pyther I'm happy maintaining it still. What changes do you think need to be made?
Comment by: pyther on Sat, 14 Apr 2012 20:06:26 +0000
You should
1. Make symlinks in ${pkgdir}/usr/share/spotify/libs/ and then use a wrapper script to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH and call spotify
Example:
ln -s /usr/lib/libnss3.so ${pkgdir}/usr/share/spotify/libs/libnss3.so.1d # libnss3.so
ln -s /usr/lib/libnssutil3.so ${pkgdir}/usr/share/spotify/libs/libnssutil3.so.1d # libnssutil3.so
ln -s /usr/lib/libsmime3.so ${pkgdir}/usr/share/spotify/libs/libsmime3.so.1d # libsmime3.so
2. Use the qtwebkit library from Ubuntu (as the arch library causes spotify to crash with paid accounts)
Example:
install -D -m644 ${srcdir}/libqtwebkit/usr/lib/$libarch/libQtWebKit.so.4.9.0 ${pkgdir}/usr/share/spotify/libs/
ln -s ./libQtWebKit.so.4.9.0 ${pkgdir}/usr/share/spotify/libs/libQtWebKit.so.4
Wrapper:
#!/bin/sh
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/share/spotify/libs/ /usr/share/spotify/spotify $@
In both cases look at my pkgbuild for spotify-beta. Feel free to contact me, if needed.

It has been a month since last time I could open Spotify.
Is there anyone maintaining this app?
I'm still unable to open it. That's what konsole outputs:

Very strange version. Because of it every time when I make yaourt -Suy --aur I see following:
aur/openssl098 0.9.8.o-1 - 0.9.8o/[a-z]/.0.9.8o//[0-9.]/}}-
So, openssl098 try to upgrade every whole system upgrade.
Comment by: yejun on Thu, 04 Nov 2010 18:34:37 +0000
This is really not for long term use because openssl 0.9.8 itself is outdated. You'd better find updated packages not depends on this.
Comment by: xhochy on Fri, 23 Mar 2012 18:01:03 +0000
The current build lacks version information the libraries.
A version of this package with those is available in my github repo: https://github.com/xhochy/archlinux-pkgbuilds/tree/master/openssl098
Fixed this using http://rt.openssl.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=1222user=guestpass=guest and the debian package.
Comment by: pyther on Sat, 24 Mar 2012 13:27:37 +0000
I would also like to see the versioning patch added. Thanks
Comment by: trya on Sat, 24 Mar 2012 20:57:14 +0000
@xhochy: not that I don't want to include this patch, but I try to stay as close as the openssl package from [core], and upstream still doesn't include version information. You should report a bug to https://bugs.archlinux.org or ask devs on the arch-dev-general mailing list first if you'd like to see this patch integrated. If Arch adopt it, I will.

Perhaps you can enlighten those of us (me) who can't read the error messages that well? You can just tell me what I need to install/fix in order to get this resolved. I think that is the more effective way of doing things. Thank you
Faster for you in the short run, a PITA for everyone in the long run; you need to learn to help yourself. The error message is extreamely explicit and clear.
Hint: read the output from the bottom up.
I usually can, I just didn't really know where to look in this case. Thanks! I see where to look now. Hat's off!

Tried buidling twice, via tmpfs and not there (commenting the line in /etc/makepkg.conf as needed).  Still no success packaging...

Above error is repeatable everytime.
Fails exactly the same way.  I have eliminated space constraints, blaming yaourt etc, what's next?  Will do the chroot build when home as have been trying the normal ways while at work.  Still suprised that Libreoffice, GIMP and even parts of xorg and xfce have worked flawlessly.  Oh well.

• Does anyone have ANY idea when the wifi issue will be solved?

My wife and I have had our iPad since May. The iPad has, almost from the start, been TERRIBLE on wireless. After a bunch of trial and error we discovered that the only way we could get it to work with out network was to disable/enable to the wireless every time it stop responding, which means doing this every 30-40 minutes on most days.
Obviously this is hands down unacceptable. Apple posted the 3.2.1 fix which was supposed to solve this, but of course it didn't. As an application architect my team and I have been doing development for the iPad recently, and we encountered a bug related to this for one of our apps where the app would time out on load and close. Turns out the network connection is slowing down so badly it can't get a simple list within the initial 20 second launch window for the apps.
This file is somewhere in the realm of sub-100k... 20 seconds? REALLY? On a 4mbps cable connection?!?!
I'm almost ready to get my money back at this point... it's really frustrating to have to deal with this on a daily basis. We have a Belkin 802.11n router which works fine for every other network device in my house. That includes 2 iPhones (3G, 3GS), Dell laptops x2, IBM laptop x1, Wii, network bridge, etc.
The lack of ANY kind of real insight is the most painful issue here. And no Apple, telling me to buy a new router is NOT a solution. Can you imagine if a company that makes a refrigerator told me that I needed to upgrade my electrical system to rectify a problem with their device? What kind of response IS that?!?!

And why not? Apple is selling these things like BigMacs. They can't make enough of them. You've been suffering since May because you refuse to get a decent router.

What if the problem with their device is that it requires a new-fangled "grounded" outlet and your circa 1890 house doesn't have grounded outlets. Would you refuse to purchase a $ 25 adapter on principle?

• Finder  long term general issues, apple not solving

I have been using mac and their finder since 1991 or so and since osx things seem to go off the rails increasingly. I thought it is time to try to collect and mention them... maybe apple becomes aware of them ?....
In os8.6 and 9 the finder was working for me but since OSX10.1 finder still can not keep the icons in the place that I put them in .... and that after many years of OSX... Some examples: (1) grid size scaling only moves icons horizontally (2) grid is not stable but changes, new icons are all over the place but not on the old grid that you had when you arranged the icons some time ago, and you have to select all and drag them around to get them aligned on the "NEW" grid. This action can badly mess up the original icon positions. (3) you can place icons on top of each other, but only 1 by one ?? (4) is there a way to LOCK I mean FIX POSITION of the icon? (5) what does the "use as defaults" button actually do? (6) Every time I plug in another display my desktop icons are completely hassled, I have no idea to which order, sometimes multiple icons on top of each other.
And many more bugs.... is no one debugging their finder application?
I still find it unbelievable that the pop-up windows they had in OS8.6 still have not been re-invented and that I need to use drop drawers to get this functionality.
Another objection is that there is lacking support for power users. I want to access stuff via a keyboard, keyboard shortcuts for all dialogs, avoid a mouse, see hidden files, and when I give the computer a command it should JUST DO IT, not nag me with "are you really sure blablabla" and force me to use a mouse to click tiny OK buttons. When I ask umount my disk should eject, not give a vague message, nor should the computer crash when I force the eject. Let the applications crash if that's the problem (at least we know what the problem is) but not the OS...
Another major annoyance is unresponsiveness of the finder. Many times I see nothing happen. Or often, spinning pizzas only. IMHO responsiveness is design rule number 1. SHOW the user that the system is doing what he asked. Without quick response I start killing the task and even that is unresponsive in 10.6 in some cases. I remember particularly trying to kill a final cut studio compressor job and I had to wait for 20 seconds or so before even the kill-task interface popped up. And after more than 30 seconds I'm usually reaching for the power button..... which happens increasingly often in spite that my computer is now 1000 times faster than the one I used for os8.6..
I use the finder to control my computer, if anything should be robust and fast it's this part.

Since most of your post is related to how MacOS works, or doesn't (in it's normal fashion), and not to bugs or problems that can be solved by users on this forum, you will probably need to voice your opinion directly to Apple (we don't work for them, and they don't post here officially):
http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
If you need help trouble shooting a specific issue then you should post a new thread about it so that you might get help from people who have experience with the exact same issue.

• JSP precompilation and my .java files compilation issues /  building WAR file using ANT

Hello.
I am new to working with WAR files and the whole process of it. A little
background on what we are using. We are using, WLS 6.1 SP3. I am using the
ant.bat that is supplied in the bin directory of the WLS install.
I am trying to work with ANT and getting it to build the file. I am making
progress, but at a point where I am having trouble getting my java code
files to compile using ant. I am having one issue and looking to do one
other item.
1) I would like to precompile the JSPs if possible prior to putting into the
WAR file. Not sure if this is done or not, but there was a utility when I
was working with ibm's app server that gave us the ability to do a batch
complile. Was thinking that maybe a similair concept is possibly here.
2) Having issue getting ant to compile code properly. In the compile
section of the build.xml file for ant, I tell it where the source files are,
and the destionation folder for the compiled class files. I then try to set
the classpath so that it finds the .jar files that are necessary for my
source files to complile. But, it won't find them. And not sure how come.
I may be going about this all wrong, but dont know. Here is the compile
section of the build.xml I am using:
<target name="compile" depends="prepare">
<javac srcdir="classes" destdir="${deploy.home}/WEB-INF/classes"
classpath="$(lib.home)"
debug="on" optimize="on" deprecation="off"/>
</target>
One note, I've tried many different items in the classpath line, which
don't work. if I do *.jar it fails at complie time, invalid argument. As
well as if I use *.* and so on. if I list the explicit file names, it still
doesn't seem to find them.
I was wondering if anyone could help, if you need anymore information let me
know, I can send the entire build.xml if necessary. I may be missing
items, seeing that this is my first try at using ANT.
Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance. Hopefully not sounding too
off the wall. Hopefully get some clarification and understanding.
Thank you.
Kevin.

http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/jsp/reference.html#57794
or just set the precompile flag in weblogic.xml
You can configure WebLogic Server to precompile your JSPs when a Web
Application is deployed or re-deployed or when WebLogic Server starts up
by setting the precompile parameter to true in the <jsp-descriptor>
element of the weblogic.xml deployment descriptor.

maybe because you are not using curly braces there on lib.home??
if you do it the way above, you would have to list all your jars
classpath="$(lib.home)\lib1.jar:$(lib.home)\lib2.jar"
or you can nest
<javac srcdir="classes" destdir="${deploy.home}/WEB-INF/classes"
debug="on" optimize="on" deprecation="off">

• Serious issues building application(s)

I've been trying to build an application but cannot get it to execute without giving very vague errors
The simplest example of an exe with the problem is one including a numeric control, the Mean.vi from NI_AALBase.lvlib and a numeric indicator for the result.
My first attempt, before including Mean.vi as a dynamic/support vi gives the message:
"missing subvi NI_AALBase.lvlib:Mean.vi in viname.vi" (viname being the name of the vi I built
Once included in the source files dynamic & support section the message 'helpfully' becomes:
"The VI is not executable. The full Development Version of labview is required to fix the errors."
As with other instances of this on the forums the VI is perfectly OK on the machine it was built with.
I'm dead certain that  it is associated with the VIs from NI_AALBase.lvlib and NI_AALPro.lvlib as there is a duplicate 'helpful' message for each instance of any of them in the VI.
What are these messages caused by and how do I solve them?
I have checked that the dll is included in the support folder for the build, and i've even tried copying the dll and the raw vis + vilibs  into the correct relative locations on the pc i'm attempting to install onto.
I'm completely stumped so any help (or documentation?) would be greatly appreciated!
My labview is 8.2.1
Cheers
Dan
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I tried all options and none of them fixed the problem.
As you said the simple VI was 9Mb with the bottom option.
I still get the same error for each compile:
"The VI is not executable. The full Development Version of labview is required to fix the errors."
Once again I've included mean.vi in the dymanic/support section in source files
just in case:
The PC i'm installing on has an older version of the runtime env installed as well as 8.2.1.
Is it possible that is interfering?
The older version is required to support other programs which cannot be recompiled.
thanks

Ok i solved it. I had to install pkg-config in /usr and not in the default /usr/local

• Scrolling Issues (Build 370)

I'm seeing some really odd behavior with the scrolling
related properties on the container controller class in build 370.
From what I'm seeing, the values for contentHeight are changing as
the verticalScrollPosition changes, even if the content of the text
flow has not been modified. This is very evident with a really long
text flow in one container. The problem is that the scroll bars are
getting new values for content width/height all the time and they
end up jumping around a lot as you scroll the container.
Did something change here that I'm overlooking? I'm basically
just passing the content sizes and scroll positions straight into
the scrollbars, which had always worked fine in the past. Now
scrolling can be very erratic. Anyone have ideas?
Thanks,
Brent

Another scroll issue:
I import large text in TextFlow. In start point text typed
normally (fast), but when I scroll to bottom of my text, near last
line, type speed is very slow. I can write some text and see how
letters showes in textflow next few seconds .

• Permissions issue with Aptana [SOLVED]

Hi all,
yesterday night I have installed Aptana through AUR. The installation went fine, but I couldn't start it, since it complained "java" was not in my $PATH, so I did, as root,
ln -s /opt/java/jre/bin/java /usr/bin/java
And Aptana started, at least the splash screen, then I got this error:
An error has occurred. See the log file
/home/mmanu/.aptana/workspace/.metadata/.log.
I went to check the log, and here is what it says:
<snip>
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/mmanu/.eclipse/com.aptana.ide.rcp.product_0.2.8.15171/configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/bundles/33/1/.cp/libswt-pi-gtk-3236.so: /home/mmanu/.eclipse/com.aptana.ide.rcp.product_0.2.8.15171/configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/bundles/33/1/.cp/libswt-pi-gtk-3236.so: failed to map segment from shared object: Operation not permitted
</snip>
Obviously this is the only thing that seems relevant to me since it's the only error message, other entries are like:
<snip>
at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1751)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1660)
</snip>
I have checked the file in question and it seems fine:
ls -la .eclipse/com.aptana.ide.rcp.product_0.2.8.15171/configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/bundles/33/1/.cp/libswt-pi-gtk-3236.so
-rwxrwxrwx 1 mmanu users 309652 2007-06-25 02:51 .eclipse/com.aptana.ide.rcp.product_0.2.8.15171/configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/bundles/33/1/.cp/libswt-pi-gtk-3236.so
I have tried to start Aptana as root and it starts just fine, so my guess, and I'm quite sure is that there is some permission issue, but I have no clue about where to fix it.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
thanks for your time

Ok I solved the problem for pure coincidence. I was trying to run ./configure to compile something and I had the following error:
bash: ./configure: /bin/sh: bad interpreter: Permission denied
So I went around searching and found this page. It turns out that since I have my /home mounted on a different partition, I didn't set the option "exec" in /etc/fstab, and the "defaults" option doesn't give exec rights on it. I did that and now everything works.
I've learnt something new, thanks Arch, and thanks for your help anyways slubman

• Quality issues with IDVD solved

Hi All
RE. Best looking IDVD playback.
May this help all those stuggling with quality issues with perfect looking Qtime files encoded by IDVD coming out looking crap.
Simply this: instead of exporting your media from your FCP timeline in H.264 - instead select Motion JPEG A. This is found under your setting options in your Qtime movie/settings export window.
Your files will export much, much faster than Apple's default setting of H.264, you will also get very smooth playback wihtout any jaggies or nasty artifacts. Files are a larger but, hey, it just looks great.
Let me know if this works for you - it took me ages to figure this out!
Best regards

Good info. I'll keep this in mind next time.

• Dynamic build of a table trigger - Issue building :new and :old vars

(which leads me to my next issue - this one might be a deal killer for me; see "Are Optional Parameters possible in Procedural Units?"
I'm using a Select statement to dynamically create a table trigger which looks like the following:
create or replace trigger tr_audit#reporter
after update on reporter
for each row
begin
ttms_audit_pkg.insert_audit_info( 'reporter', 'ZIP', :new.ZIP, :old.ZIP, 'REPORTER.REPORTER,REPORTER.PROJECT_CD', 'EXFC', :new.reporter, :new.project_cd);
end;
The :new. and :old. variables are generated based on which table_name is passed to the script creating this trigger. My problem is that I need all the :new. and :old. parameters to be passed in as Char. regardless of whether they are Number or Date variables.
So in the example above...if :new.reporter is a number on the table then I need to to_char is like this:
create or replace trigger tr_audit#reporter
after update on reporter
for each row
begin
ttms_audit_pkg.insert_audit_info( 'reporter', 'ZIP', :new.ZIP, :old.ZIP,
'REPORTER.REPORTER,REPORTER.PROJECT_CD', 'EXFC', to_char(:new.reporter), :new.project_cd);
end;
However, since this trigger is created dynamically I will not know in advance which :new. and :old. parameters will need to be converted to character. So if to_char(:new.reporter) is used and :new.reporter is already a character on the table then I will get an error.
So my question then is this. Is there a way to write this dynamic sql in a way to accomidate this problem? I'm thinking something that would act a bit like a decode does with values...pehaps something like this:
decode(:new.reporter, NUMBER, to_char(:new.reporter), DATE, to_char(:new.reporter,'DD-MON-YYYY HH12:MIPM'), :new.reporter)
...if :new.reporter is a number then to_char it; if :new.reporter is a date then to_char it; otherwise let it be.
By any chance does anyone know if this is possible? I would greatly appreciate any insights.

Sure, you can selectively version-enable tables using Workspace Manager (you call DBMS_WM.EnableVersioning on each table you want Workspace Manager to track history for).
What do you mean by "programmatically rollback changes"? Workspace Manager has the ability to call GotoTime and queries against a version-enabled table will return results as if you were querying it at that specific point in time (unless you've purged history of course). You can also use it to create what are essentially long-running transactions where you can work on multiple sets of proposed data changes simultaneously for days or months before finally deciding to commit a one particular set. It's incredibly powerful.

• Setting ProGuard options in build.xml (SOLVED)

Hi guys,
I'm trying to obfuscate my MIDlet so I can use BCrypt and the bouncy castle library. I'm getting the following error and I see that I need to add '-dontskipnonpubliclibraryclasses' and/or '-dontskipnonpubliclibraryclassmembers'. I've read ProGuard's instructions on adding options to an xml file but they are incompatible with Netbeans 6.8's build.xml. How can I set these two options for ProGuard through my build.xml file? I've included the obfuscation related part of my build-imp.xml.

I just got rid of the BCrypt file.

I ran into this same problem when using ProGuard 4.1 for Java obfuscation. The problem is that there is a space in the path to your JDK/JRE, for example: c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_03. Because there is a space before the word "Files", it isn't working. The solution to to wrap quotes around that particular command-line argument. In ANT, I needed to use single-quotes (because double-quotes were already in use for the XML attribute) such as:
<java jar="proguard.jar" fork="true" timeout="30000">
<arg value="-libraryjars"/>
<arg value="'${java.home}/lib/rt.jar'"/> <!-- Notice both double and single quotes used on this line. -->
...rest of the arguments go here...
</java>
Alternatively, using ProGuard's custom ANT Task, it would look something like (notice the use of double-quotes around the rt.jar location):
<proguard>
-libraryjars "${java.home}/lib/rt.jar"
...rest of the arguments go here...
</proguard>
Anyways, I hope this helps you or anyone else who runs into the same problem. Both of these approaches have worked for me.
