Issues Downloading on Mac OS X 10.6.5

Hi, I've been trying to install photoshop elements 9 on my Mac and I cannot get it to work. I'm using the correct Mac CD.  A couple times it just spit the CD back out, a couple where the initializing install would not work, and a couple times when it would let me get through the first part (adding serial code, etc..) and then it would give me this error: "Inconsistency in the Installer Database.  Please restart your computer and try again."  I've restarted and still nothing.  Any ideas on what this means?  I've seen in here on other discussions that Photoshop has worked on 10.6.5. I also downloaded that log tracker and it said it didn't find anything.  I'm new to Photoshop (and am not really great on a Mac either haha) so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Have you removed the bits that were installed the first time you tried? If it got that far, there's an uninstaller in the applications folder for PSE 9, but you probably didn't.
You are installing from an administrative account? You might want to try creating a new admin user (system preferences>user accounts) and logging in there to run the installation in case there's a conflict with something in your existing account.

    You can get faster help by posting the Mac OS version you have and more details about your iMac.     I purchased a 70D bundle including software, I've tried downloading the software on my 6 month old Mac but have failed to do so.  I even tried downloading it from Canon, and still does the same thing.  I've changed from Mavericks to Mountain Lion as suggested from another blog but without success.  I even called Mac support but failed to get it working.  I love this camera but I'm getting very frustrated with this issue.  Any solution to this problem?

    Curioser and curioser. I'm doing okay getting the dmg from that link using an Internet Explorer 6. Yousendit (or a trying a different PC rather than the library one) might well be the best option for you in the short term.
    In the long term:

    I don't see why not ... after all, it's readily possibly to download the Mac version of the iTunes installer to a PC.
    If you've got the time and inclination, it might be worth putting through some feedback to Apple about that. My best guess as to which feedback form to use might be the following one:

  • Can I download CS5 Mac (non-extended) and "reinstall" to fix problem?

    I have my household goods in storage at commercial movers while new home is being renovated, and won't be accessible for 6-8 more weeks.  While trying to fix an Adobe Air install (or shall I say "won't install") issue, I think I must have cleaned house too thoroughly and deleted a file that was needed.
    When I launch CS5, I get the message:
    "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
    I haven't used it heavily, but CS5 works ok for what I have been doing.
    With other software, I have been able to download the demo, use my registration, and been good to go.  The only option I can find at adobe.com is for Extended, and I don't want/need this.  Is there a way to access the "regular" CS5, so I can clear up this issue?

    If you have issues downloading the trail for whatever reason, you can use the website from Prodesign tools:
    Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2014 Release | ProDesignTools
    They share all the direct links for downloading the Media. Once Downloaded (can even use this to download from another computer)
    and then run the installer on the system you want to install.

    Make a new user Test Account on your computer, then try to download it through there, see what happens.

  • Issues downloading podcasts

    I am having issues downloading podcasts on a pc only.
    Scenario - PC ONLY
    1. User clicks advanced then subscribes to podcast
    2. The subscription is added but the download of the podcast file itself fails. It states 'There was a problm downloading 'X file' The required file cannot be found'.
    What is odd is that on a Mac it works fine.
    I have tried a several podcasts from the music store and some work, some do not.
    I have tried other readers such as Juice Podcast receiverv2.2 and http://feeds.feedburner.com, so I do not believe it's a problem with the feed since it works on a Mac and also works on other readers.
    Does anyone know if this is a known issue with i-tunes on a PC or where to get detailed information on the error message?
    I am using I-tunes 6.0 with the latest version of QT (7.1).

    I am having this exact same problem, but on Mac. When i try to 'subscribe to Podcast' using the Avanced menu, it enters the URL into the list, tries accessing, then fails. There are no errors in the URLs, and others are able to subscribe. It was working before: when i tested my own Podcast befor submitting it to the iTunes registry, and it has worked for a few others, but recently they fail.
    Someone thought this might have been due to using an older version (i had retrograded to 4.9 when i discovered 5.0 wouldn't play my SFILs), but i have now upgraded to 6.0.5 (with QT 7.1.2), and it still won't work.
    I have to solve this within a couple of weeks because i'm helping an Author get his Podcast up, and we'll need to test it before submitting it to the iTunes Registry.

  • Help! Brand New Lenovo A10-70 - Issue Downloading Apps

    Hi Lenovo Community,
    I just purchased a brand new A10-70 tablet and while I love the price and features, there appears to be on major issue. Whenever I try to download game apps from Google Playstore, the pad errors out and tells me "Application Could Not Load to SD Card", heck I don't even have an SD card installed.
    This is  actually the second tablet doing this to me. I took the first one back and exchanged it thinking that there was a software glitch but it now appears it is a platform issue. 
    Games such as Minecraft PE simply will not load while others appear to load fine but then when you go to open the app and  use it, you get a notice that the app is not installed.
    I have other tablets from Samsung, HP and even Nabi which have never had  issues downloading game application. 
    What's up with Lenovo? 
    I am willing  to try to get corrected but cannot wait long, will take back  and get another Samsung.

    Hello, I've started having an issue downloading songs and apps from iTunes to our PC which has Windows XP Professional installed. We also use Karspersky Anti-Virus and Firefox as an internet browser. Have never had this issue before, it comes up with "An unknow error has occured and downloads are stopped with an error 8003. Also says please check your network connection" We have no issue connecting to iTunes store or the network so not sure how to fix this. It is very frustrating. Have checked Windows Firewall and iTunes is an exception, can't think of anything else why it won't work.

    I sounds as though you need to start again. The following article tells you how to completely remove iTunes and Quicktime. If you didn't actually install iTunes you wont find it in add/remove programs so you can't do that bit, but still delete the iTunes folder in Program Files as advised in the article.

    Once you have got rid of them, try installing the latest version of iTunes. There is a link to it in the article.
    Itunes wont move your music for you, get iTune sgoing then ask again.

  • Recently got a new iPod 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod - any suggestions?

    Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac.  I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
    I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network.  While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs. 
    There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
    The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
    Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline?  Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes?

    The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts.  Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
    The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
    Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

    Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
    Try trashing them in Safe Mode, reply if that doesn't help.

    Ive been following this and other forums since Yosemite came out few weeks back & i can see many other people are having this issue as well.
    The issue is that I'm not able to make/receive calls on my MBP using my iPhone via continuity.
    Ive tried all of the possible solutions made here and elsewhere on how to resolve this issue. [playing about with settings and iCloud]
    When I'm at home all of the handoff and continuity features work apart from making and receiving calls. Tells me my mac and iPhone are not on the same wifi network, even though they are.

    Now this is where tourbleshooting comes in. Ive taken my mac and to my homegirls house & all of the features worked including phonecalls, without changing anything, except?? THE ISP and the router at her house.
    Personally i live in London, Uk. At home i have sky, and my girl has TalkTalk.
    So im 99.9% sure this has nothing to do with the OS X, but rather its the ISP or the router.
    Now I'm asking for help from anyone that understands the ISP's and routers, on what kind of issue there might be. Im no computer wiz kid, but I'm guessing it could be something that has to do with the NAT type. (Call of duty on ps3 haha) At my house its moderate and my homegirls - open? could that be the issue? if so are there any router settings i can play about to see if that solves the issue?
