Issues downloading trial version of Captivate
Hello,
I’m having issues downloading the free version of Captivate. I'm using Windows XP. After I’ve clicked on ‘Start Download’ and ‘Run’ the computer prompts me to select a folder in which to place the program. It doesn’t matter what folder is selected (or created), it always gives the message that I need to ‘Retry another folder’.
Is this a common problem? Can you please help?

there is no free version of captivate.
are you using a trial version (which is free)? if so, right click the installation file and click "run as administratro".

Issues downloading trial version of Lightroom5
I have followed all the instructions to download Lightroom5 trial verson but it still won't begin. I have IE10, turned off "block pop-ups", firewall is off etc. When I click Start Download nothing happens. I also tried downloading other Adobe software such as Photoshop and have no issues, so it seems to be just a Lightroom5 issue. Is there a direct link to the download file?

22 Hours and still no reply, seriously????
Hi, I am i can't seem to reply to the initial message. I tried the instructions below, but the download has been hanging for almost an hour and not progressing at all - so it seems to not be working...any other solutions? I am in Qatar, does the fact that my IP address is not north american affect this at all?

im trying to download the trial version of captivate on my mac, the akamai netsession interface is now on my desktop, i go through installation, it makes that happy sound and says the installation was successful, but nothing actually happens, no new folders or documents, or applications, seems like sort of a dead end.
To investigate i clickedon Akamai in "other" of my system preferences is tells me the status is "forbidden" but I am the administrator and i have never used this free trial before, so why am I "forbidden?"

Hi Inkwoman, Thank you for contacting Adobe Support. Please use the below mentioned steps to download and install Captivate 6 for MAC :
First click on the URL below http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?loc=en_us&product=captivat e
Then login with you Adobe ID and Password (if needed).
Then Copy and Paste the mentioned below URLs one by one in the same window as shown below: http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/CPTV/6/osx10/Captivate_6_LS12.d mg Then Press Enter Key from the keyboard and save the above mentioned file one by one in any folder created on to the desktop.
Then click on the DMG file to extract and install Captivate 6.
Once the folder gets extracted and install Adobe Captivate 6

I very much need access to a trial version of Captivate 5.5. Every time I think I have found one, I am eventually offered Captivate 7. I really need 5.5.

I am having problem downolading a trial version of Lightroom 4 from the Adobe site. It appears that I can download trial versions of any other digital photography-related product but not of Lightroom 4. About 2 weeks ago I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Elements and I have been getting familiar with it. I have to make a decision on the best product for my needs.
I went to Vistek shop in Ottawa yesterday and one of the specialist told me that maybe Lightroom would better meet my needs. Prior to purchasing, I am trying to test both product to understand the fundamental differences. For some reason, when I go to the download site ( https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroom) and click on the download button, nothing happens. Given that I am a System's Engineer by trade, I thought that perhaps I cannot install 2 trial copies of adobe products on a single workstation so I tried downloading Lightroom 4 from 3 different PC/laptops but got the same results...
Can anybody help. This is a bit frustrating given that the Adobe element trial is coming to an end (about 2 weeks) and I want to proceed with purchasing the RIGHT PRODUCT...

About the original trial download page you had issues with, it does take a few seconds for the download button to become active, and once you click it, it takes a few more seconds for either a login pop to come up or the download, itself, to start, so maybe you have a popup blocker enabled or some security that doesn’t allow the download to occur. You might try a different browser. The following link is what the download attempts to use, but you need to have signed in to your Adobe account before trying to use it, I think:

Fresh install of trial version of Captivate 8 on OS X 10.9.3 - no previous version of Captivate on machine. I've got lots of crashing to desktop problems right off the bat. Is there a patch available? I work at a University and we're evaluating for online courseware - my last experience with Captivate was 5.0. Anyone else experience this with the trial download?

There is no difference in terms of usage and features between a trial version and a licensed version.
Could you tell me do you get any specific error message when it crashes, or does it crash while using a particular feature, or is it random?
Can you also try with a different user account (admin) on your MAC, check if it behaves same there?

Anyone had the trial version of Captivate 4 expire in 4 days?

I'm using the trial version of Captivate 4 which I downloaded
four days ago. It's now telling me I have to enter a serial number
with no option to continue the trial.
I've seen problems have occurred in the past but haven't
heard about this one.
Anyone direct me to a fix? I'm putting together a project to
convince the powers that be to upgrade.

At any point after installing did you play with your system
clock and monkey with the date? I find that trials are often super
sensitive that way. ANY change to the date can automatically
trigger a "Trial is over" response as the software is programmed
not to allow date changes. If it were to allow date changes, you
could theoretically run a trial indefinitely.
Other than that, perhaps try calling support. And good luck.

If you have purchased directly from Adobe (online/over the phone), please provide the order number & you can also confirm from your bank if the transaction has been completed or not.
Please mention the product name if purchased from any other sources.Then the serial number issue can be resolved.
As you have mentioned that " Can only download trial versions of apps", I assume it is the trial of Creative cloud, if that is the case then serial number is not required.
Since you have the trial downlaod available so it might be that the creative cloud subscription is not yet active(if it is creative cloud subscription).
You can privately message me the details also.

I've downloaded the latest trial version of Captivate 2.0 and
would like to review changes before purchasing. I haven't yet
installed it as I'm worried that it will somehow create problems if
my company opts not to purchase the upgrade....any suggestions

If you use Photoshop at all, you may need to install the latest update to resolve this issue. See this blog post for more information:

If you do not have Photoshop, then try the solution that others have mentioned previously:
Open the Adobe Application Manager (AAM).
If applicable, let AAM complete any automatic updates and restart itself.
Sign in with your Adobe ID. (Optionally, you can close AAM at this point.)
Open a CS6 application (e.g. InDesign CC).
If prompted (e.g. you get the trial screen), click "License This Software" and sign in with your Adobe ID.

If you will download the trial, then you will only get Captivate 6.0.1.240
Captivate 6.1.0.319 is only available for subscription (monthly and annual) users and ASA (Adobe Software Assurance) users.
Once you will purchase the subscription or Full version with ASA, then you can update Captivate 6.0.1.240 to 6.1.0.319
