Issues getting pdf to open in Ibooks

I made a book in Iphoto. I saved it as a pdf on the desktop. I dropped it into itunes book library and synced the ipad and the book opened just fine. The next day i edited the book in Iphoto and deleted the old book from Ibook and now it uploads to the Ipad but will not open. Help

I have done that.....this morning I deselected all my books in Itunes...i next deleted ibooks in itunes....i deleted all books on my ipad and then deleted ibooks......i next installed ibooks on the ipad....i selected 10 pdf files in itunes and the synced the ipad....i noticed as the books were added to ibooks the title was on a plain cover until it was finished uploading and the the front of the book appeared it happened to all of the other 9 books pdf except my iphoto book...and yet again that iphoto book will not open.....COULD there be an itune cache that i need to drag into trash that is blocking that iphoto book from completely downloading? COULD IT be an iphoto cache even though when i open the pdf in preview it ope ns with no issues....the file is 911,000,000 in size a bit too big to email to myself and open that way in ibooks....any other ideas welcome....

i have reader... and this is the error message i get when i attempt to open one

How do I restrict pdf from opening in iBook on company iPad?

Our company doesn't allow (for Compliance reasons) to have the PDF open in iBooks. We would like to restrict the iPad users in our company an option to open the pdf in iBooks and only be given an option to open in 'Quick Look'. How can we achieve that? I see that iBooks app is installed by default with the iOS and can't be deleted. Please advice

I think what you're referring to here is the Resume feature.
When choosing Restart, Sleep or Shutdown there is a checkbox you can uncheck to prevent the apps from launching.
Also in System Preferences > General there is a hard-to-find checkbox under "Number of recent items" you can turn off.
Also, you can hold the shift key to disable resume on a one time basis.
You can turn off Resume globally by going to ~/Library/Saved Application State/Notes and delete that file…
(note that the User Library is hidden - one way to get there is to go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library")
To turn off autosave and versions globally
If you're experiencing slow opening apps or windows since upgrading to ML... as I have... and you don't want your OS to automatically save your TextEdit files, etc. then simply disable Autosave and Versions via Terminal.
If you don't want autosave or resume you can copy & paste this command into Terminal at the prompt...
defaults write -g ApplePersistence -bool no
Press return
Now reboot.
The reverse would be "yes".

Can't get pdf to open in lyteframe window

I am using lytebox in my updated website, and one of the lyteframe boxes was to open and frame a pdf file. I had it working in IE, but couldn't get it to work in firefox. It was always forcing me to save the file and wouldn't let me open it.
I gave up on FF and redownloaded Reader 9 to see if I could get it fixed. I still couldn't get the pdf to open inside the frame in FF, but at least it opens in a new window now. Unfortunately now I can't get it to open inside the frame in IE. The javascript works and a frame opens up, but as soon as it opens, the pdf opens in a new window, leaving a blank, white filled empty frame below.
In Reader I have "display PDF in browser" selected, and in IE I have "reuse windows for launching shortcuts" selected in the advanced options settings selected. I don't know what else to do. I have deleted and reinstalled Reader 9, and I still have the same problem, and I also reset IE7 in case it was the problem. It still keeps doing the same thing.
If I can't get this fixed, I'm just going to switch it to html text with a pdf link at the bottom to print, but I would much prefer to just have it link to the original pdf.

Can't open PDFs with "open in iBooks".

When I click on "open in iBooks" the PDF file appears for a second in the library and then disappears. I have to completely shutdown my iPad and then restart. Sometimes even this doesn't help. I noticed this problem started after the most recent iBooks upgrade.

I have been having the same problem. The default app that came up when I would do "open in" was GoodNotes. I deleted that app and could then open the pdf in iBooks with iBooks as the default. Put GoodNotes back on and iBooks is still the default. So maybe there is something conflicting in that app. I also see a gazillion more apps that will read pdf files now when I do the "open in" through Mail.

What type of account?
A free book account is fairly strightforward.
A Paid Book account requires that in order to actually sell book, you need to go through the Contracts and Banking section found in iTunes Connect. You will also need a US EIN number to meet Apples requirements.
As with anything submitted to Apple, the time taken to comlplete depends on what it is and how busy they are.

Adobe Presenter issue with PDF attachments opening

I attached all my supplemental documents as PDF attachements so that they would be part of the zipped file when published. Once published, I tried clicking on an attachment, and I get a presenter file attachment window, indicating I need to save to my computer and click to download. When I click the hyperlink, I get a swirling circle for about 3 minutes and nothing ever is downloaded to my computer. What's wrong?

Save that pdf file on desktop and try to open it using adobe reader.

How do I get pdfs to open in IE 9 from web links and not in Acrobat Pro 10.1.12

We are unable to open pdfs in IE9 browser for our users with Acrobat Pro 10.1.12 installed as these files open in AcrobatPro instead. Works fine for those users with Adobe Reader installed.
I have checked in IE that the add-ons are enabled (Adobe PDF, Adobe PDF Conversion Tool, SmartSelect Class, + Adobe Reader[via the Run without permission list] as per the link Acrobat Help | Display PDF in browser | Acrobat, Reader XI
OS is MS Windows 2008 Server R2 + Citrix.
NB Adobe Pro Preferences\Internet\Web Browser Options\Display PDF in browser is disabled to I can't change this.

Also, you might go to registry (Wind+R->type regedit) and navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
Then, please check that correct default data value is set to the path where Acrobat is installed.
The default installation value is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.1\Acrobat\AcroRd32.exe" (Check for your PC)

i am working from a vista machine, acrobat pro 9. my files can't be read in a mac? any solutions?

After taking Graf's advice, first.
Have them make a zip archive and send to you, or you make a zip archive and send to them. you can do that from Finder on a Mac.
First Click on the PDF in question and the if in a Mac choose from File menu Create Archive.
From PC side have them use Windows zip or PKzip (PKware) and create the archive. Send to the other party.
See if it can be opened after unzipping. If so, then the server the files are going through (ISP or some intervening connection) is misconfiguring the files some way.
If it works then you or the other party on the other end needs to remember to make a zip archive before sending. Generally, There should be no problem send PDFs to a PC from a Mac or from a Mac to a PC. Now if you (either party) are using a different version of Acrobat there may be some differences in Features either can use (the older version can not use use new features added in later versions - But new versions can use all features in the older version.)

PDF document opened with Preview does not show french accents

Hi everybody,
I've got some issues with PDF documents opened with Preview.
They show a blank space for all the accented vowels.
If I open the same document with Safari, it's the same. But with Chrome, it works perfectly.
I assume there's a problem with fonts, but, nothing wrong with fontbook (checked duplicates for instance).
Last information : it looks ok within chrome on my Imac, but the issue comes back when I try to print from chrome app...the accents are gone on the sheet.
Any idea ? I don't want to install Adobe reader...

Pdf files opening up way to large by default in adobe reader

I am wondering if anyone has had the issue with pdf's opening up like 300% way to big by default? I have a customer who says that when ever he opens a pdf he can't even read it because it is toooo large. Any suggestions to help him work it out would be great. I told him it's probably a preference thing, but then why is it doing it by default then?

If it happens to all PDFs, it probably is due to a preference setting: Edit > Preferences > Page Display > Default Layout and Zoom
Note that there's another preference setting that comes into play as well: Edit > Preferences > Accessibility > Override Page Display > Always use Zoom Setting
Documents can be set up with a default zoom setting as well, so that's another possible cause.
