Problem installing Palm Desktop on Windows Vista.

I am trying to install PalmDesktopWin414 on a couple different computers that are both running Windows Vista Ultimate. At the palmOne InstallShield Wizard welcome screen it generates the following error.
Internal Error 2738.
This interrupts the installation and it does not complete. Any suggestions?

hello all , i got mine up and running late last night and thought that since it drove me nuts i would share how i did it with others having the same problem, for fyi i am using a sony clie sj22 and hotsyncing with an usb cable for reference with palm OS4.0 i think.
1. dont install the software just yet please follow
2.let palm desktop thru thye firewall program and make an exception for it there.
3. disable and antivirus software as it sees palm as a threat.
4.now install palm desktop i used my old version palm desktop 4.0 BUT DONT INSTALL THE PROGRAM IN PROGRAM FILES try somewhere else like documents( this i read on another site where someone tried it but failed there).
5.now turn on your palm pda and open up hotsync page, up in the upper left screen corner touch the hotsync tab and down should come a sub menu, form here you need to set up all of your conduits,modem sync preferencesmconnection setup etc make sure they are set for how you will be hotsyncing.
6.now open up the desktop program and on your toolbar you should see the hotsync icon click on this and set set the options here.
7.now you should be able to hotsync(communicate) from the pda to the computer .
Hope this helps , sorry that some one like me had to figure it out by staying up late until i got it .
MICROSOFT apparently doesnt care if you fix it that way you bite the bullet and buy a windows mobile device.
and PALM i think about the same
too bad if you think about all the millions of these devices out there they are pissing alot of people off and losing sales from it.

About memory issue during installing Oracle 11g on Windows Server 2003

Hi, all
When I installed Oracle 11g on Windows Server 2003 which the server is a virtual server, Oracle only can detect 2G memory.
But there are 4G memory with my server.
I want to know if the Oracle 11g's new feature or the virtual server lead the issue.
Also , I want to get your help to resolve the issue, thanks a lot.

Let me get this straight:
You have created some virtual machine using someone's unknown VM software.
You have installed Windows Server 2003 (perhaps, but not confirmed 32-bit) to that VM.
You have allocated 4GB of memory to the VM (we guess ... not sure I'm ready to take your word on this)
You are attempting to install Oracle 11g (presumably 11gR1 32 bit for Windows) in the VM
And the Oracle (installer?) seems to be reporting that you only have 2GB RAM.
Since I personally have installed Oracle 11g 32bit for Windows on Windows 2003 server with 4GB RAM and had no issues, I would be investigating the (unknown) VM environment.

Installing Palm Desktop on Windows 7

I originally tried to install from the CD that came with my Palm but when it couldn't find the device drivers for my Palm Centro, which I've had for more than a year, I uninstalled Palm Desktop, downloaded the latest version from the website and tried to reinstall again. In both cases, the device drivers can't be found and I'm not sure what to do so that's why I'm contacting you today. Please help - I would hate to have to get rid of my Palm and go to an iPhone just because you guys don't have everything compatible with Windows 7.

Internet Explorer issues after installing Update KB2955163 on Windows 8

Dear,
Since we've installed Windows update KB2955163 on Windows 8, we've been experiencing the following issues:
- After using Internet Explorer for a long while (one hour or longer), some websites won't work properly anymore. For example: list boxes and pop-ups don't appear.
- After using Internet Explorer for a long while (one hour or longer), employees can't access any external webpages. They receive a message saying the webpage isn't available. Reconfiguring the Proxy-settings will temporarily fix this problem.
*The above problems don't appear on all of our computers running Windows 8.
We've found the only fix for these problems, is to uninstall Windows update KB2955163.
All of our affected systems are running Windows 8 Enterprise x64, and come from various manufacturers (Dell / HP etc.).
Is anyone of you guys familiar with these specific issues regarding Windows update KB2955163?

Did this issue occur on all computers which installed that update?
In generally, it's not most likely be Windows update cause.
Let's narrow down the issue:
Have you tried to reset the Internet Explorer to check the result:
1.Close all Internet Explorer windows that are currently open.
2.Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar. Changing your settings will affect both Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer for the desktop.
3.Tap or click the Tools button, and then tap or click
Internet options.
4.Tap or Click the Advanced tab, and then tap or click
Reset.
5.In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, tap or click Reset.
6.When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, tap or click
Close, and then tap or click OK. You'll need to restart your PC for these changes to take effect.
If it persists, perform a clean boot to see if it caused by some third-party software:

Issues while Installing SOA 11g in windows 8

Hi Experts,
I am trying to install SOA Suite to my laptop which have windows 8. Data base and RCU and Weblogic everything is completed successfully with out any issues.
I have used oepe-wls-indigo-installer-11.1.1.8.0.201110211138-10.3.6-win32 for weblogic . When i am trying to run the G:\SOA_Software_Downloads\SOA_11g_64bit\unzip\ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.7.01 of2\Disk1>setup -jreLoc C:\Oracle\Middleware\SOASuite11gR1PS6\jdk160_29, i am getting issue like on Prerequisite Checks 3 of 8 step is giving Checking operating system certification and Checking service pack status are in red with cross symbol but Checking physical memory status is checked.
I try to install generic weblogic as well wls1036_generic, which is giving error like The Java Run Time Environment was not found at C:\Program\bin\javaw.exe. Hence, the Oracle Universal Installer cannot be run. Please visit heep://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.3.1 or higher and try again, but i have installed jdk1.6.0_35 from oracle, still same issue.
I uninstalled weblogic and tried different options all are facing similar issues, can any help me what is doing wrong here? what is missing

I am using Win8 64bit OS. And I'm trying to install V37380-01_1of2.zip and V37380-01_2of2.zip after the jdk-7u51-windows-x64.exe and wls1036_generic.jar were installed in my pc successfully. Below are the setup in my PC:
JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51; which is correct location in my pc;
PATH = PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\bin;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\jre\bin;D:\ProgramFiles\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin;
A foler 'jre7' in the same forder with JDK was generated after install JDK. That means there are two folders under folder 'C:\Program Files\Java' after JDK installation.
I ran the command setup.exe -jreLoc C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\jre under SOA folder disk1 foder 'D:\Tools\SOA\Disk1'. Oracle Universal Installer error shows: The Java RunTime Environment was not found at C:\Program\bin\javaw.exe. Hence, the Oracle Universal Installer can't be run. Please visit http://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.3.1 or higher and try again.
I checked there is no folder Program under C drive in my pc. so I don't know which part is wrong. Please advise, thanks.

Issue with installing password sync on Windows 2008

I have installed pwd sync 64 bit on Windows 2008. Configured it in direct mode (no jms). But when I change the password of a user it is not syncing with the IdM. We have the 32 bit pwd sync working fine on Win 2003. Is there any special steps for installing, configuring 64 bit pwd sync on Win 2008. Thanks. Jack

Given the error "failed to crack URL" I believe you're hitting an issue we have documented as bug # 21999. Here's the jist of it and a possible way around it.

When installing password sync on a Windows 2008 system, if you are not
logged in as 'Administrator', the installer and the configure applications
may be subject to Windows File And Registry Virtualization (FARV). This may
cause the registry entries for password sync to be written to the user portion
of the registry, rather than the system portion. Subsequently, password sync
will fail with the message "failed to crack URL".
To work around FARV, either run the MSI installer from a privileged cmd.exe
prompt, or run the configure.exe application using the "Run As Administrator"
functionality (right-click on the configure.exe application, select "Run As
Administrator").

Do not install BB Desktop on Windows XP.

The BlackBerry Desktop software (current version 501) is of no use and have cost me and many colleagues so much time and nerves that I have asked the shop where I have bought the BlackBerry 9700 (which is of good use) to warn other customers to install this.
In detail:
Bugs:
- Windows XP startup is delayed up to 100% (6 min instead of 3, measured several times)
- TT fonts stop to work properly (i.e. Times New Roman Bold) - you can't read them anymore!
Regarding these two problems - they vanish as soon as the program is de-installed.
User unfriendliness:
- During installation, one have to chose between individual or enterprise email - I don't want this program to mess with my email at all!
- The program sometimes needs several minutes before it can be used (perhaps due to unwanted searches for connection, see above).
- Installation/Deinstallation of BB SW (alx):
+ Installed SW is listed - but cannot be de-installed (button is deactivated, last example: Langenscheidt dictionary demo)
+ During an installation process, each and every step is started with the password request (I stopped counting after the 3rd time).
Question: Did BB EVER test this?

Which version of Desktop Manager software did you install?
My experience with the delayed XP startup has led to it being Roxio Media Creator. If I installed it on my computer, I've had to take it out of "msconfig" to allow startup to be "normal". If I don't install the media creator on the computer, it starts up as usual.

when Spiceworks finishes installing (using port 80) and begins it's initial startup, the application never gets past the popup window saying starting: servername:80
Any ideas how to resolve this?

Solution to "iPodService Error" issue while installing iTunes 10 for Window

This instruction applies to Windows XP:
Un-install iTunes 10...follow Apple's instructions to un-install iTunes 10.
Right Click on <My Computer> icon on your desktop
Select <Properties> from context menu
Select <Advanced> tab
Click <Settings> under Startup and Recovery
Click <Edit> under "To edit the startup options file...."
The boot.ini file should now be opened in Notepad. Check and update the following flag to match:
/noexecute=optin
Re-install iTunes 10
The process should be normal without the "ipodservice error messages".
It worked for me...Good Luck !

Hi, I Upgraded to Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 from Vista Home Premium SP2 (RC1) 32 bit. So Palm was already installed on my system. I sync to Outlook 7, but on Win 7 I cannot sync probably because the OS won't recognize my 755. I have had this same problem with Vista, but eventually it recognized my Palm. Interestingly every other program I had on Vista worked fine with Win 7 except McAfee, and I was able to get ahold of their beta to install. Interestingly Win 7 flagged McAfee as not being able to work with the OS. Palm seems to be behind the curve when a new OS is released by Microsoft. It took forever before they got something for Vista. I'm not sure if they will put much effort on getting the older Palm units to work with Win 7, as their efforts seem to be more with the new Web OS and the Pre. Hopefully that will work with Win 7. Is there a way to make Palm aware of the problems with Win 7? FYI The latest build of Win 7 (7048) has supposedly fixed some of the problems, and changed some of the look of the OS. Barry Heath

Windows 10, unable to install Skype Desktop Version - missing "Agree - next" button

Good afternoon Community,I got a a new tablette and upgraded streight away from Windows 8 to 10. I tried to install Skype Desktop but do not get further than the screen where to select the language (within the skype installer). In fact, I have an empty grey bar on the bottom of the install which usually contain "Read user conditions" and a bottom "agree conditions and next". As said, the bar is empty, no link for privacy statement and no bottom to proceed. Any suggestions how to solve the issue and install skype desktop (not the Modern Windows version from windows store)? Many thanks

With the setup running with the gray box, does anything happen when you use a real/virtual keyboard and press enter? I just upgraded my 10 inch tablet running Windows 8.1 with Bing to Windows 10 Home and I did not run into any issues.

Error A 12E5 during installing Creative Cloud on Windows 8

I keep getting the Error A 12E5 whenever I try to Install Creative Cloud Desktop. I've run it as admin as well, and still the same result. I'm on a Windows 8 laptop and all the help forums I can find for this error pertains to Macs. Can anyone help?

Please follow the mentioned steps:
Windows:
Navigate to C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe/OOBE and rename it to OOBE.old.
Open task manager, go to processes and close any Adobe services running(Acrotray,AAMUpdate Notifier) http://www.howtogeek.com/66622/stupid-geek-tricks-6-ways-to-open-windo ws-task-manager/ .
Download CC desktop and try installing again: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud .
if the issue still persists than perform selective startup and try installing CC desktop: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-vista/run-selective-startup -using-system-configuration .
