Issues in iTunes Store with iTunes for Mac

Couple issues related to Browse Mode in iTunes Store. Does anyone else find these very annoying?
1. The Back Button in iTunes Store goes back to main Music Screen instead of back to the browser where you left off. Extremely annoying...
2. In browse mode, when you click on an album and bring it up, you cannot listen to any song from the song list without leaving browse mode, hense, problem number 1 above applies again...
Any solutions?
Thanks,
Jaxmanjoe

This is a question a number of people have asked: this thread poses a solution (which I haven't tried) -

I would be cautions recommending his suggestion to amend the actual feed file - you would do this by adding an 'itunes:author' tag in the top section - because if you do this it will be overwritten on the next publish, so you will have to keep doing it. If his method within iTunes doesn't work please do post back.
You won't get an instant result in the Store, so the way to check is to carry out his method, publish, then control-click on the 'subscribe' button and choose 'download linked file' or equivalent. Then drag this file to the TextEdit icon and look for the itune:author tag in the top section (before the first 'item' tag).

  • Can't access itunes store with itunes 10/Win7 64bit. Please help.

When I attempt to access the itunes store from iTunes 10.4.1.10 (64-bit) the "one moment please. Connecting to the Itunes store..." dialog box seems to sit there forever before coming back with the following error message “We could not complete your ITunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.” I’ve tried many times and have also tried uninstalling all Apple software and reinstalling. I've also tried using a differnet windows user logon. I’m running win7 (64 bit). I’ve used WMP in the past and would really like to try iTunes. Any help would be appreciated.

While I don't know for sure, my guess is there is a version of iTunes that you computer CAN use and will work with iTunes.
you may try to manually download the latest version of iTunes 8, or an early version of iTunes 9.  Should be on Apple's site somewhere.

  • Itunes store not working for Mac

I have just downloaded the new itunes 10.5 and the itunes store won't open. I connect my iphone4s, and that won't connect to the itunes store either and won't update apps, or do much of anything. I've done all the software updates. Any help out there?
    For Mac OS X 10.5

iTunes uses the back-side code in Safari for all its rendering of the Store, so no, there's no way around it. If you don't have the ca. forty megabytes Safari takes, then you're going to have problems with your computer - Mac OS X needs much more free space than that - so you really need to clear off some space on the drive. Then you'll be able to install the new version of Safari.
    Regards.

  • Problems opening with Itunes Store with Itunes 10.7

I recently upgraded to Itunes 10.7 and have since been unable to open the Store when I'm in Itunes. All I see  are the words "Itunes Store" in large print on the Store window.   In fact, I've experienced the same problem when I upgraded to Itunes 10.6.   I'm on Windows XP Service Pack 3.  Has anyone else experienced anything similar?  Any advice for a solution would be greatly appreciated. Do I need to go back an download older version of Itunes?

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Can't Access iTunes Store with iTunes 8; Can't Download iTunes 10 with OS X 10.4 Operating System

I can't access the iTunes Store to browse and purchase music, etc.  I have an OS X 10.4.11 operating system and iTunes 8.0.2 on my computer.  While I can download iTunes 10.3, I can't install it on my computer.  I would prefer using my computer with its current software to access the iTunes Store.  Is there a way that I can access the iTunes Store to purchase music, etc.?
    Thanks!

  • Listening and DL'ing from the iTunes Store with iTunes 6

I like iTunes 6. It runs far less buggy on my pc. But whenever I try to preview a song, it gives me an error code (-208) and won't play a song. Ditto for downloading. Also, I have to relog in every couple of minutes no matter what.
The first suggestion apple makes is to upgrade to the newest version. But I don't WANT to upgrade to the newest version!
    Am I SOL?

Probably. Right now, I can't find exactly what the oldest version of iTunes is that will still allow you to purchase from the store. Older versions of iTunes are usually disabled at some point in time to plug security holes in the store & the older versions will be disabled without notice. The only thing that should be affected as you have discovered is your use of the store with an older version. I will keep looking about version number & post back if I find it. Sorry.

  • Can't access iTunes Store with iTunes 11.1.3 upgrade

I just upgraded to OS X 10.6.8, in order to upgrade to iTunes 11.1.3, in order to sync to my iPhone 5. In addition to crashing upon trying to open iTunes repeatedly, until finally opening on the 6th + try, nothing happens when I click "STORE". Is my combination of OS and iTunes known to be buggy?

I tried removing and downloading the 11.1.4 version and got the same response, plus when I tried to open Itunes my computer pretty much froze and I had to open task manager and force Itunes to close (not responding).
I then reinstalled the newest version and right clicked on the Itunes icon and checked "Troubleshoot compatabiity".  Some fixes were applied and I tested it and Itunes ran and I got into the store.  I saved the settings and all seems to be OK for now.
I tried changing the date and that didn't work for me (I dropped back to mid January).
I am using Windows 8.1 so I hope what I have discovered will help someone in a smilar situation.

  • With verson 12.01.26 my iTunes can no longer connect to the iTunes store or iTunes Match

After downloading iTunes version 12.01.26 on my PC my iTunes can no longer connect to the iTunes store or iTunes Match. My itunes displayed a message at the top that it was connecting to the iTunes Store. After closing my laptop and opening it again after a few hours, there was a message stating that my computer was unable to connect to iTunes because of a problem with my internet connection. My laptop is connecting fine with the internet, yet not through the iTunes program, or at least it seems that way. I'm not positive but  feel like the issue may have stemmed when I downloaded the new version, I think maybe I messed up the process somehow by closing my computer or something.

  • My phone keep asking to login itune store with my previous email id for updates

    Dear Sir
i have iphone 5 which is asking me to my previous email ID while updating the apps like skype please suggest me how can i change my previous email ID with new email ID even i logged in to itune store with my new email ID

    Hi zubair11111,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The information below may be able to answer your questions about how to change your Apple ID.
Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
Before you change your Apple ID:
Sign out of all Apple features and services that you use with your current Apple ID.
Make sure that the email address you want to use for your Apple ID meets these conditions:
The email address is one that you use regularly, because it will be the primary email address for your Apple ID.
The email address is not associated with any other Apple ID.
The email address is not an iCloud email address, which is already an Apple ID. iCloud email addresses end with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com.
Using your Apple ID for Apple services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895
Can I merge multiple Apple IDs into one?

You cannot merge two or more Apple IDs into a single one. You can, however, use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). See “Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases” above for details.
I have purchased music, apps, or books with multiple Apple IDs. How can I get all of this content onto my iOS device?

First, you need to copy all of your purchased content so it is on the same Mac or PC with iTunes. This computer should be the one you sync your device with. For more information on how to move your content, see these articles:
Mac:  iTunes for Mac: How to copy purchases between computers
PC:  iTunes for Windows: How to copy purchases between computers
Next, authorize your computer to play content with each Apple ID in iTunes. Once your computer is authorized for all your content, it can be synced to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
I hope this information helps ....

  • 2 questions, what do i do when a audio book i purchased is not in purchased menu for re downloading for my account, or why cant i re download the book from iTunes store with out paying for it after support they told me i could.

what do i do when a audio book i purchased is not in purchased menu for re downloading for my account, or why cant i re download the book from iTunes store with out paying for it after support they told me i could.
i tried to re download a purchased audio book after i contacted apple support team for iTunes they said it would be ready for re download or they said id have to re download it from iTunes store i cant remember, so i tried both couldn't re download it from purchased menu and the book id have to re download from iTunes store costs money as if i have never purchased what do i do? I don't have any warranty any more or money to purchase another warranty.

Thank you for your prompt reply.  I have bought 1 MacbookPor 17, 1 Macbook air, 1 MacbookPro 15 , 2 ipads, 3 iphones, and this iMac27 and 2 of iMAC24 or 20 not sure   but I do not recall ever doing what you are telling me in your reply.   When you get a extended car warranty, you don't   sign up for it.. it is just there and is included in the sale.   You don't buy this warranty to use it.. You buy it, in case something happens.   Here a perfect iMAC with minimum 100 hour useage has a dead drive.  That is not normal and I should not have to even be requesting anything since most MFG offer a 3-5 year warranty on their disc drives and I believe that is probably passed on to Apple regardless if an extended warranty is purchased or not.   Customer service dictates a more flexible approach to make sure the lifetime value of a customer is not lost due to some misunderstanding.
I was in the MacStore that I purchased the unit..and they found and pulled the invoice and confirmed
the purchase of it in front of me.  I had paid with credit card and fortunately it was there in their system.   I do not also recall recieving any box or paper although most everything I ever get remains sealed.. I am not in the habit of opening anything since I have never encountered any serious issues before.
I have used my Macbookpro warranty 1 time  and that is all throughout the years I have been investing in Apple equipment.
I just recieved a letter from the store asking me to get the paper to them so they can register it... I don't recall getting any paper actually.  But I do have several boxes sealed here..  On this iMAC27, it was a hurry up and get it done thing and I don't remember taking anything extra with it.   Regardless,  my request does not seem unreasonable.
    Thank you

  • I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??  Thanks

I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??
Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???
    Thanks

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook.  Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.

  • My iTunes card won't redeem and when I try to it comes up with this "The gift certificate or prepaid card code you entered has not been properly activated. Please contact iTunes Store costumer support for assistance" can anyone help me?

My iTunes card won't redeem and when I try to it comes up with this "The gift certificate or prepaid card code you entered has not been properly activated. Please contact iTunes Store costumer support for assistance" can anyone help me?

Is the store that you bought the card from nearby so that you can try going back and asking if they can activate the card properly ? If it's not, or if they can't/won't activate, then you will need to do as the message says and contact iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt)
