Issues in running flash player activeX on 64 bit windows 2008 R2 server

When the activeX acts up, users can not type anything into search boxes or use the keyboards in online game sites. From time to time, we have to re-install flash player again.
We noticed that the FlashUtil64 activeX dll is somehow saved in c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash folder while the FlashUtil32 activeX dll is in c:\windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash folder, is this normal? And when running 32 IE, the flashutil64 shown in the windows running process.
We installed flash player with 32 bit IE 10 on a 64 bit windows 2008 R2 server.
Thanks.

It seems you have used 32bit installers on 64bit machine. Please refer -

Need help with the lates version of Adobe Flash Playe.  Currently Adobe flash player don't work on IE 10 with Windows 8. However, the flash player works with Google Chrome. Furthermore, I try all the help steps provided on the website.

  • Flash Player failure in 64-bit Windows 7

I've been trying to play Adobe flash shorts and features from this site: http://www.myfrenchfilmfestival.com/en/presentation. It's not working. I get the circular loading image, but it never finishes, no content at all.
My research suggests Adobe Flash Player doesn't work in the 64-bit IE8, so I've tried running it in the 32-bit IE8 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer). Some Adobe page said this should work, but it does not. I've also tried Chrome and Firefox. The player behaves the same in any of these.  I pretty fast DSL, easily stream HD from Netflix through a Tivo to my HDtv.
I have the latest version of the player and the latest version of Java, if the latter matters.
The window for my streams these films I've paid (albeit not much 25 bucks) for runs out in a couple of weeks.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

If you mean the rotating trademark before it settles down to the static Buffy Tooncast ad, then yes I do see it.
On the Adobe "kill-bit" page, the two images fail to display (common blank white boxes with the little red X in the upper left corner).
But...when I navigate to the suggested Registry Key, I do not have the suggested {D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}\
    Rather it skips from
    "{D256 " to {D292 "
The et cetera are mine, of course. No {D27 etc. entry.
    Is this useful?
PS-Turning Norton, Ad-Muncher, & Malwarebytes on or off in any combination make no difference. Been trying that all along.

  • Controlling autoupdate of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX with mms.cfg file

For several years we have suppressed Flash Player ActiveX from autoupdating by using the mms.cfg file, with the setting "AutoUpdateDisable=1" -- and it has worked without a problem.
With the constant updates of Flash Player for security reasons, we decided several months ago to change the autoupdate setting and allow Flash Player ActiveX to update automatically, without notifying the user, checking every seven days.  We changed the mms.cfg file to this:
    AutoUpdateDisable=0
    AutoUpdateInterval=7
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
We are using Windows 7 64-bit, so the mms.cfg file was copied/updated to: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash, as well as C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
The problem we are randomly seeing across our 2500+ computers is a notification that a Flash Player update is available.  This is occurring on machines with the mms.cfg file in place.
Does anyone else have this same issue?  We were also wondering if the encoding of the file, i.e., ANSI or UTF-8, has any bearing on the effectiveness of this mms.cfg file. Or has a registry setting been updated overriding the mms.cfg?
We believe the file is encoded in UTF-8, but it is difficult to be 100% certain of this.
    Screenshot of the auto-update notification:
    Thanks
Currently running Flash Player ActiveX 11.9.900

You're right, it sounds very malwareish, but they will know more in the Flash Player forum  http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer . This is teh Adobe Reader forum. When you post there, a screen shot may help.

    Hi Jonathan,
Currently the .NET solution contains over 70 assemblies, and only one assembly has reference to CR2008 .Net runtime SP2.  All the 70 projects for each assemblies are compiled with Platform Target set to Any CPU.  We build an installer with InstallShield, which deploys the runtime by CRRuntime_12_2_mlb.msi.
If we resolve all the parameters, and donu2019t prompt user for the parameters, then the same report runs fine on 64-bit Window 2008. Otherwise we always get the error on prompting parameters.
We resolved the issue by recompiling the exe with Platform Target set to (x86). And all the 70 assemblies are still compiled with Any CPU.

    Frank

  • Flash player Activex issue

Hi, apologies new to this forum and not too computer savvy.
I have installed Flash Player 10.1.85.3 onto my windows XP computer.  (Sorry dont know how to check if 32 or 64 bit).
I use both IE & firefox to browse the web.  I do not know if this is connected but when I browse on IE i get promps as to whether i want to open activex control which I dont get on firefox?
I have just bought a Western Digital Network attatched storage hard drive and have tried to install it.  However, I get an error message "to run this program version 9 or greater of the flash activex control is needed.  It will be automatically installed".  When I press OK, i get firther message, " Adobe flash player Activex set up.  The version of adobe flash player activex that you are trying to install is not the most current version.  please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer to obtain the lastest most secure version".  The software will then not continue to allow me to load for the hard drive.
i have checked on Adobe what flash player I have installed on my computer and note that I have flash player 10.1.85.3 installed.  When I check my add/remove programs I do not see this program, all I see is  Adobe AIR, Adobe flash player 10 plugin, Adobe reader 9.4, Adobe shockwave player 11, (i do note that the adobe flashplayer 10 plugin does not show any size).
When I installed Flash player 10, at the end of the process I did get an error message "activex control for flash player could not be registered".  However, it would appear that the flash player did install?
Can anyone help me and guide me through what I need to do, please!!  If any more info is needed, just ask but you may have to tell me where and how I can retrieve that info, Sorry!

Firefox does not use ActiveX (it uses plugins instead); that's why you don't get that message on FF.

It appears as if that software is trying to install an old version of Flash Player.  If I were in your situation I would try one of the following:
uninstall your current Flash Player using the uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html (all browser windows must be closed when running the uninstaller), then try installing that driver again.
go to the Western Digital Network website and look if a newer driver is available.

That's a good question. I may have installed FP 10.1 Beta in many of the attempts to resolve the issue. I've scanned my registry for any reference to Flash and removed anything that remotely resembles Flash Player (of course backing up Registry first). I've run uninstall_flash_player.exe, which doesn't appear to do anything. I've checked logs and there's no reference to Flash Player being installed.
When I go to the link provided ( http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) I get the messageThe version of Adobe® Flash® Player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most current version. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer to obtain the latest, most secure version. and when I look at the log (install.log) I see an attempt to install Flash Player. • How to install old version of Flash Player ActiveX

    Hello,
I have to install Flash Player ActiveX 10.1.x or 10.3.x because it is required by my application. 11.x version I tried made issues.
I downloaded various 10.x versions : they all told me that this version is not the newest => I can only quit the installation.
How can I avoid that message ?
What does Adobe care which version I want to install because I have to ?????
Thank you for your help !

Please run the appropriate uninstaller linked below.  That should allow you to run older installers without receiving that error.
    Windows 32-bit: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash _player_32bit.exe
    Windows 64-bit: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash _player_64bit.exe

  • How to Rollback Flash Player ActiveX

    Hi,
I need to rollback my Flash Player ActiveX from 9.0.115.0 to
    9.0.45.0.
I have downloaded and used the Uninstall Flash exe (latest
    one) to remove Flash ActiveX.
I had closed out of all programs then rebooted my computer.
I tried to install Flash Player ActiveX 9.0.45.0 but I get a
    popup that says
" The verison of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX that you aer
trying to install is not the most current verison. Please visit
http:\\www.adob....... to obtain the latest, most secure version."
First of all I have done the uninstall so how would the
program know that 9.0.45.0 is not the latest even when I have
unplugged my internet connection and second of all how can I by
pass this pop up to install 9.0.45.0.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you,

    First solution:
Documented on Adobe Flash Player Support Site:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402435
Download the uninstaller for Flash Player from "How to
uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control"
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
    1. Select Start.
    2. Select Run.
    3. Type cmd
    4. In the command window, type the following:
    uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean
    5. This will remove all entries in the system registry and
    resolve this issue.
Note: The uninstall_flash_player.exe file must be saved to
the same directory that the command window is in, for example C:\.
    Second solution:
Open the system registry, but do so at your own risk.
    1. Select Start and choose Run
    2. Type in ‘regedit’
    3. Navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayer\SafeVersions
Delete the entry for 9.0 on the right panel of the system
    registry
    Install Flash Player.

  • I need to know how to run Flash Player in a Vista 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit O.S.

Help please !  I have been reading for days, trying everything to find the answer to my dilemma, which BTW is making it impossible to use our new computer now. Every other minute it seems I get the message that I need to run Flash Player in a VISTA 32-bit browser which is actually running on a 64-bit operating system.  Do I have to uninstall a program (what and where is it) and then instal something else (from where etc.)?
Give me back our XP!  I get the idea that Adobe keeps SAYING they are developing a platform for Adobe Flash to run on a 64-bit, but I fear that is only a stall. Who is responsible for helping neophytes?  No matter how many times I have tried to contact Adobe, it is a joke.  One time, even though I do not have a subscription for service, the poor man took pity on me.  But his Indian accent was so severe I have ZERO idea what he was saying.  Can one of you wonderful, erudite, helpful people out there give me the solution in computer language 101?? I will be forever grateful.  I wish our computer "guru" had been smart enough to give us the pros and cons when he suggested Vista and 64..... When I am asked for a serial number even I have no earthly idea how to get that either.  I feel completely HELPLESS  and SLEEPLESS in Tucson.   Thanks SOOOO much to whomever can get me going in the right direction. (Forgive my LONG message.  I had to vent.  I feel better.) CLOWG

    Hi Clowg,
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble.  Unfortunately, I don't believe the folks here on this forum will be able to help you with your issue.  Have you tried posting on the Flash Player forum?

  • Flash Player ActiveX-Version 11.8.800.174

For showing graphical graphics in 2D and 3D in our Visual basic application we use the Fusion Charts component.
This Component use Flash Player ActiveX components.
My application works on the development server, but if we distribute this to our customers it doesn't work. The Graphics are not fully displayed.
We checked the Flash player ActiveX components on the server and these from our customers.
The customers have the version 11.8.800.168 (which is the latest version according the adobe site), but on the development server we have a newer version 11.8.800.174.
We would like to download this version also on the server of our customers, but we can't find it to download?
1 customer has the version 11.1.102.62 and this one is also working correct.
All is running under windows XP SP3.
How can we get this version 11.8.800.174 on the server of our customers?

    Hey Chris,
    Thanks for the answer.
I have successfully downloaded the latest version 11.8.800.174 at the server of our customers, but I still have the same problem with the graphics of the program.
See the pictures of the version 11.8.800.174 ware the graphics isn’t totally visible.
But on the development server there is now problem with this version.
    Customers server:
Windows XP PRO 32bit, service pack 3
Flash player 11.8.800.174 no full graphics visible
When the graphics is build, he shows the graphics full for 1 second and then he displayed a black window before the graphics?
Flash player 11.5.502.149 the graphics is full visible (see picture)
If I update to version 11.6.602.171 the problem begins.
    Development server:
Windows XP PRO 32 bit, service pack 2
    Flash player 11.8.800.174 graphics OK

  • Flash Player ActiveX 10.2.153.1 supported on VDI ?

I am seeking following information on Flash Player ActiveX 10.2.153.1 in regards to MS Virtual Desktop Infrastructure compatibility, below are questions:
Is the application – Flash Player ActiveX 10.2.153.1 supported on Windows 7 x64 desktop virtualised on Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V presented by Citrix XenDesktop 5.5/5.6 ?
Is the virtualization of the application supported ? [We are Planning to virtualize the Application using Microsoft App-V/Citrix ] ?
Is the application supported if installed on Virtual Machines [VDI] ?
Does the Application’s current License Policy support if the Application is virtualized ?
Does the Application’s current License policy support the Application on Virtual Machines?
If not is there any license policy that supports the Application on Virtual Machines ?

I'm looking into the licensing questions and I'll post back when I get additional information. I'd recommend taking a look at our License Agreement Page for the FAQ and actual license agreement.
As for "support" for VM/virtualized images, native Win 7x64 is supported, but we did not officially test for virtualized environments.  However, many internal team members use Windows under VM environments during daily use.  Your mileage my vary.  I’d suggest trying it out and if you run into problems feel free to add new bugs over at bugbase.adobe.com.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Is anyone else having problems running Flash Player on Mountain Lion?

After installing Flash Player on my MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion, my computer started crashing when I put it to sleep.  When I uninstalled Flash, I no longer had the problem.  Is anyone else having problems like this with Flash Player?  Is this an issue with Mountain Lion or Adobe?  Is there a fix for it, or am I just out of luck with the prospect of running Flash Player on my new Mac?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Updating Flash Player ActiveX / Plugin via SCUP / SCCM

    Hello,
I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers, mostly with Windows 7 x64.
Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin.
    But now my Problem:
After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working)
I figured the Updater works like this:
First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins.
First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled.
But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error.
This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before)
How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?
    Thank you very much!
    Sincerely Martin

Exactly the same issue here (see http://forums.adobe.com/message/6285043#6285043). We have stopped the deployment of that package since nearly every second client is affected by this. It seems that the installation package does uninstall the flash player ocx (both 32-bit and 64-bit), but does not install the new version.
I remember there was a bug at the beginning of this year, where the install package did install the new version, but marked it as "failed" in SCCM software center.. Just a few days later there was a new package in SCUP with the same version number...
