I checked the Adobe site for help, tried the uninstaller and tried installing the Flash again without any success.

Bypass the downloader/installer:
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove Flash Player.
Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Once it's installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

How do you do the installation?  For what web browser?
Try downloading the installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.

  • Installing Flash player in Vista 64

I could not get player 10 to install in Vista 64 despite
repeated attempts. It would fail to load a .dll to a specific
directory. After repeated attempts, I realized the directory was
never created by the installer. So, here's the deal: go to
C:/Windows/system32 and manually create the following new sub
directories: /Macromed and then in that directory, /Shockwave 10
    Your finished directory is
    C:/Windows/system32/Macromed/Shockwave 10
Once that is put in place, Player 10 installs in a few
    seconds.

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
Are you trying to open local SWF files?  If so, you need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

  • Installing Flash Player in Vista

I´ve had trouble installing the latest Flash Player in windows vista. Even when it´s worked in the past, the next time I use the computer, it no longer seems to be installed. Could it be my antivirus that blocks this? I use Avira.
When I try to download Adobe flash, I get the following message:
Adobe Flash Player is not supported for playback in a 64-bit browser. However, you can run Flash Player in a 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit operating system.
    Can you help?

Hi, well I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. We'll see what the problem may be. First to answer your question,
the OS means operating system. Which if you are using Windows, then your OS is Vista. It could be XP or the newest one
which is Windows7, Win7 for short. Now if someone is using a Mac, then that would be their OS.
Now your computer and all computers can install and run Flash Player. However there are a few things that can cause a problem, so I'll list a few.
The first thing and most important is that you must be the Administrator of your computer. If this is your computer and you set up the accounts, the first account set up would be the Administrator account. You can look at that as the "Boss"
Now some people will set up accounts for other people but they are not Administrator accounts, they are called User or Limited accounts. They cannot be "Boss":-) There are some other things, but I'm stating it this way, so you can better understand.
When you Install programs, like Flash Player, you have to use the Administrator account to do so.
Don't think you are the only one having problems. We'll find out what it is and fix it.
Since using the Administrator account is the most important, I want you to go down to where the clock it. With your mouse, right click over the time that is showing. Then when the small window opens, left click on Adjust Date/Time.
Then post back and tell me what you saw.

  • Issues Installing flash player for mac

    Hi
I have a mac os 10.4 and i tried upgrading the flash player because there are certain video and shows I can't see and I uninstalled the old flash player and tried to install the new flash player well it didn't work because this is a powerpc I guess and the latest version they have for power pc is flash player 10.1 So I downloaded and installed the flash player but when I tried to watch a video or show it keeps saying that I need to download a flash player so I am kind of lost I mean the flash player is already installed and everything? I am so confused and would really appreciate if someone can help me pls?

Hi,  I have the exact same issue.  I too downloaded the 10.1 and it didn't work.  I even uninstalled whatever I had in flash previously.  I am running Safari and I just don't know what to do.  If you happen to find an answer to this seemingly simple issue,  I would really appreciate knowing!

FYI: "Br" is the Bridge application - try launching that to

  • Still having issues installing Flash

    THANK YOU for a reply.
I got flash to work in Firefox last night but it still will not work in IE.  In fact Internet Explorer stopped "exploring"  The home page loads but no matter what I do, it keeps reopening the home page when I click on links or manually enter a link..
I know it is not your problem but until I can get IE to work correctly, why even try to load Flash in IE?
Below you give two links to load Flash and then have me do a CLEAN INSTALL.  By this do you mean go into the control panel and uninstall all adobe stuff and start over?
Then if I want both to work, should I go into IE and do the install from there first, then go into Firefox and do the plugins?
Thank you for your help and now I'll try to figure out IE.  A "friend" suggested I re-install the operating system.  I really do not want to go there....

  • Installing Flash Player - Windows Vista Home Premium - stalled at 50%

I would like to get help as I have been trying to install Adobe Flash Player for months, each time a video I select requires it and
the system takes me to the prompts to install, it gets 50% installed and then it says it can't continue because Internet Explorer is open.
Therre are no windows opened, and I have the recommended Scripting enabled in Internet Options (troubleshooting tip) but
I still can't get past this point and its frustrating.
    David Kerr

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking one (or both) of the following links and selecting "Save target as"(IE) or "Save link as"(other browsers).
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save the file(s) to your downloads folder.
    Reboot.
Before running anything else, open the downloads folder and run the installer(s).

  • Trouble installing Flash Player on Vista IE8

Hi, I'm not very computer saavy but I believe I tried everything in the trouble shooting section but I'm still unable to successfully download the latest version of flash player. I'm pretty sure I've uninstalled previous versions of flash player (the macromed file only has 2 text docs) and I'm able to download the latest version to the point it says "download complete" but when I test it, it's not working. I have Norton Antivirus (unpaid, but I'm not sure if it's a trail version because my computer crashed recently and my husband had to wipe everything out.) And I think I also have Windows Vista IE8. Please help. Thanks!!

  • Help with installing Flash Player 10.1 in IE7

    Hello All -
I have been having issues installing Flash Player 10.1 in IE7.  I have pretty much tried everything to install this into IE7.  I was able to install Flash Player 10.1 in Firefox with no issues at all.   I have tried to install it through the Adobe Download Manager - it downloads to 100% and then I receive a Error:Installation failed message under Progress.  I also tried to install Flash Player through the manual installer - I run that install file and then receive the error that says "The ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered.  In the Troubleshoot Flash Player installation page on Adobe - I have tried every single remedy that they list under this error message but to no avail.  Any ideas?  I am running Windows XP SP3 and IE7.  I also tried IE8 earlier in the day with the same result so just downgraded back to IE7.
    Thanks
    Pat

I tried all solutions but one posted in adobe support. I am local administrator but IE security settings are set by group policies and buttons in tools security setting are grayed out.
After three days with "The ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" message I tried registering the activeX control manually.
    Bingo! that made the trick.
So open a DOS window, type "regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10d.ocx" -first check if this directory exists and contains the Flash10d.ocx (no quotes needed) and you should receive a confirmation that it registered correctly.
I must say that I've tried so many ways that I cannot repeat the correct order before this has worked ;-(
Hope it works for you all
