Issues installing iTunes

I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes however it keeps telling me errors have occured during installation before iTunes could be configured
Your system has not been modified, to complete the installation run the installer again... how do I do this? I have over and over and it continues to give the same error

disregard this issue I did a windows update and a reboot and everything is fine!

It sounds like you are unable to start iTunes due to this error message even after uninstalling the iTunes application and the Apple Mobile device. I would recommend uninstalling not just those 2 applications but iTunes and ALL its associated applications with the following article:

Issue installing iTunes with Quicktime 7.6

I downloaded iTunes and it came with Quicktime. I went to install it and I got the following error message:
Outlook is currently running on this computer. If proceed without quitting Outlook, it is highly recommended that you restart Outlook after installation.
What I want to know is:
A.) What does Microsoft Outlook have to do with iTunes and Quicktime when Outlook is an email program
B.) I don't even have Outlook running at all so why would it say that it is "currently running on this computer". I have the program installed but it is not opened and is not running in the background.
Did I do something wrong?

Tried many times to install iTunes/un-install but always comeback to the same issue since the 10.2.1 upgrade. Before it was working properly.

This MIGHT help you.
I tried all day yesterday to install Itunes and I could not get it to work for the life of me. As of today I finally got it installed, so I am giving a quick list of what I did.
First check to make sure windows is updated and then make sure your SQLserverCe31.msi file is not missing or corrupt. if so I was able to download it through Microsofts website.
I then used my Windows system file checker tool to repair any corrupted windows files which I had none.
After all of that I downloaded the free version of malwarebytes and ran it when my computer was in safe mode, which found 93 malware "issues" on my computer. I quarantined all of them and ran it again
I then used msconfig and disabled ALL of my NON Microsoft services and ALL of my startup services (Selective startup)
I tried running the Itunes installer again and BOOM everything installed correctly. I hope this helps SOMEONE

...and you're surprised that you had installation issues with iTunes? This makes me wonder whether others who report problems installing iTunes have computers that are equally infected! For reference, I just checked the logs from the last Malwarebytes scan (I run an automated scan twice a week) on my main iTunes system (on which, like the other iTunes instances I run, never seems to suffer from any installation issues) - zero issues

Issues installing iTunes on XP SP2

Ok, I have Windows XP SP2 and I just got a 5G 60gb iPod and I've successfully uploaded songs to it through my brother's PC since he has iTunes and a 5G iPod as well.
So I tried to install MY iTunes on MY PC and it does the supposedly common error of completely exiting just at the end of installation with no error message. I have tried the suggested solutions from the support pages on this Web site, but it's still not working!

Have you looked in your event viewer to see what
errors may have been logged?
Right click "My Computer" click "Manage" then look in
the "Event Viewer" under "Application" and "System"
for errors
related to the install and post them here.

Thanks Jim, I looked into the Event Viewer and I did see a few errors under the System tab that may or may not have been associated with trying to install iTunes.
Here is what the error log said: "The Computer Browser service terminated with the following error:
This operation returned because the timeout period expired."
"The specified service stopped unexpectedly with the error indicated in the message. The service closed safely."

Every time I try install version 7 itunes + quicktime I get an error code 2203. HELP!!

okay. let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple engineers for a look.
1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
3. Type in a space, then the following line:
/l*v C:\log.txt
4. Hit return.
5. The installer will create a log file:
C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.

Issue installing ITunes : error key not valid for use in specified state

On the latest update for iTunes for Windows the updated couldn't complete as it gave me the following message " key not valid for use in specified state". I then completly uninstalled iTunes and its components in the order advised, rebooted my system, ran the latest ITunes setup and still get the message " key not valid for use in specified state".
I have checked all the directories to ensure no remnants.
Any one got an answer to this issue as I no longer have access to ITunes. I have a Laptop running Windows Vista Business

It seems we may have a more targeted solution. Based on posts in the thread key not valid for use in specified state I've just added the following to the user tip.
For "Key not valid for use in specified state" errors try moving the folder RSA from C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA to say C:\RSA (just in case there should be a need to restore it) then try installing again. This folder appears to act as a cache and should be rebuilt automatically as required.

1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Having issues installing iTunes on windows 7.

The most recent update through iTunes into hiatus so I decided to uninstall/reinstall. I get to the very last part of installation, the starting services part, and I get this box saying " Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I am the only user on this computer so I know it's not an admin issue. Any thoughts on this error.

Error message when trying to install iTunes on my pc

Hi I have tried several times now to install iTunes on my PC (Windows XP).
The error message reads: "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified".
I have tried the help topic "Using Msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows XP" but I don't have the "iTunesHelper" and "qttask" checkboxes at step 7. I have tried carrying on without these two tick-boxes and restarted the pc but I get the same error message.
Any ideas (gratefully received!)?

Why did the iTunes update screw up the already installed iTunes on my computer? I can't sync my iPod to my computer because it now says iTunes was installed incorrectly. Re-install iTunes. I've tried to install it 3 different times. It's NOT working.
