Issues loading the login site of my ISP

When I first power on my modem, I must log into the ISPs page before I can surf the net. This has worked fine for me up until about 2 months ago. Since then, when I get redirected to the login page, it either fails to load, or takes an age to do so (3-5mins).
This happened around the time 3.6.2 was released, but I'm unsure if it was exactly after I upgraded.
Firefox on the mac, and PC, on multiple machines exhibit the issue. Running Safari, Chrome or IE, the page loads instantly. Once logged in I can use Firefox without an issue, even loading the login page again should I choose, it loads the page instantly.
Finally the ISP came back to me, requesting me to disable the validation of certificates (under tools, options, advanced, validation, uncheck all), and re-enabling it after I've logged in.
This does appear to resolve the issue, but I'm wondering why this is the case, and why only Firefox is affected.
It's a right PITA to have to launch another browser to log in, then switch back to FF. It's even worse having to disable the validation check and re-enable it afterwards.
Any ideas what could be causing this behaviour?

  • Firefox on Windows loads the same site significantly more slowly than Firefox on Mac, across multiple computers

I'm experiencing a very strange problem where the same website consistently loads slowly on Firefox for Windows but it loads at a normal speed on Firefox for Mac. This problem occurs on multiple computers. The website is https://www.cwds.pa.gov and I'm using Firefox 26.
If I open up Network in the Developer tools and check the Timings for the page, I see that Firefox on Windows generally spends >30 seconds on the PublicHomePage.aspx file. Looking for more detail under Timings, I see that most of the time is spent receiving the file. I might be mistaken, but if the problem lies in the server sending the file slowly shouldn't the aspx file also take a similar amount of time in Firefox for Mac?
Also, I don't experience this problem when using IE9 on the same PCs that experience this problem. So far it's happened on multiple Windows computers, some of them VMs and some of them actual hardware.
I'm not the author of this web site, but I'm trying to support users who are attempting to access the site. To me it seems like something weird is going on in the Windows build of Firefox, given that the Mac build works ok and other browsers on the same computer also load the page fine. It is a government web site, though, so it could just be some unusually horrible markup causing the problem. :) Thanks!

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Safari reports the site is not responding, yet Firefox loads the same site.

If the loading of most web pages is slow in Safari, more often than not, Safari returns that the site is not responding. Clearing the cache and restarting the app do not change this. Every time I've found this issue, Firefox has ALWAYS loaded the site with virtually no hiccup. These are not special sites, just if Safari can't load a site within it's time limit, it gives up on it completely. The best way I've found to induce this is to have a folder in your bookmark bar with a good number of URLs (one of mine can have upwards of 50) and then tell it to "Load all in Tabs." Most of the tabs will come back with the above mentioned failure, and then you've lost that site until you restart or a few hours go by (perhaps).
Now I've mostly found this problem by just loading ONE site, not 50. Even Apple's own homepage has done this to me on regular occasion.
Please give me your ideas on what I'm not paying attention to. I like Safari's WebClip function, and I've made up for most of the functions I'm used to in Firefox's Add-Ons, but this is the nail in the coffin if it's a regular occurrence.

I'm getting a similar error over here. Sporadically some sites won't load specifically in Safari; they open just fine in Opera, Firefox and Camino though. This is really annoying.
    It's pretty clear it's nothing network related…

  • Every time I start up Firefox, it checks for plugin updates. All my plugins are up to date, but it continues to load the plugin site. How do I make it stop?

Starting on Fri. 6/10/11, every time I start up Firefox 3.6.17, it loads the plugin update site. Initially, it said my Adobe reader plugin was out of date. Therefore I updated that plugin, yet that did not fix the problem. So I was finally forced to disable the plugin. After doing this, the plugin updates check still runs every time I start FF. However, they all come back up to date.
So my question is how do you make this plugin update check stop running. I had made no changes to firefox prior to this.

There's a fault with the blocklist.xml file which was updated on Friday, it should be fixed on Monday and you should get the updated file on Monday or Tuesday.

    hi Madhusudan,
According to your description, It is very hard to reproduce your issue. But from my experience, I suggest you can try those steps:
1.Please try to create a new cloud service and try to deploy on Azure. I wanted to check whether the environment  issue.
2.Please try to redeploy your project and disable RemoteAccess feature in your deployment process.
Any results, please let me know free.

  • Asynchronouus PeopleSoft Service : issue loading the WSDL

This post is to ask, if you have encountered any problems with PSoft asynchronous service WSDL’s being invoked from JDeveloper BPEL.
The issue that we are seeing is as follows. We have developed an asynchronous PSoft service. No problems there.
When our developers use the generated WSDL . JDeveloper gives compilation problems. The error is "Global Type declaration/definition of names" error. The BPEL service invokes the PSoft asynchronous service.
We investigated the problem and found that the asynchronous services use two schemas, a request and response schema. The schemas do not have a namespaces defined. The BPEL service needs a namespace to be defined in both the request and response schema to resolve the issue.
How can we add the namespace into the schema, we do not want to do this manually?

  • According to Firefox 6 my Shockwave Flash plug in needs updating but it won't let me load the adobe site properly

Addon Manager tells me that the Shockwave Flash plug in needs to be updated but the Adobe web page does not load and just hangs.
It also tells me that the Quicktime plug in is out of date but altho' it will connect to the Quicktime web page it does not complete the loading process.
I have also had problems accessing my Youtube channel adn have had to use a fix I found somewhere in support.mozilla that suggested using https instead of http. This works but why on earth have I had to do this? What has gone wrong with FF6?

Here I am replying to my own question. For the 8 people who apparently also have these problems I have solved the Adobe Flashplayer one. Or at least I am assuming that there was a causal connection between what I did and the result but, then again, who knows?
If you have IE on your system, make sure that the Flash Active X extension is installed and up to date. Then go through the rigmarole with Firefox and updating the Shockwave Flash. It should work.
    Still no idea about Quicktime.

  • I am unable to load the following site, -

It will load from Internet Explorer on the same machine.

bobjbkln - Your link will not help. The supject is:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
but the poster says he has a Mac with OSX 10.5.
For the original poster (OP), try posing in the iTunes form since now you have an iTunes problem, not an iPod problem.

  • Specific Issue in the Apple Site; maybe it's me?

When I try to register my AppleCare agreements for my iPod and my MacBook, I can only get as far as the "enter Apple ID and Password" screen. I enter the aforementioned info, then I am forwared to a screen that says MySLQ error, some jibberish, then error72. I can obviously log in to my .Mac; why is this causing problems? I thought it could be my browser, but then I tried it on my sister's Windows XP (IE 6) and the same error occured.
    Thanks,
    Andi

I called the AppleCare support line and my enrollment for my iPod and my MacBook was handled v. well by a veryh nice woman named Brenda.

  • Redirect issue at the login.

    declare

    l_subyear varchar2(30);

    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'YYYY') into l_sysyear FROM dual ;
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SUB_DATE, 'YYYY') into l_subyear FROM user_id_table
    where UPPER(user_name) = UPPER(:APP_USER);
    select count(table_id) into l_hphc from USER_ID_TABLE where UPPER(user_name) = UPPER(:APP_USER) AND l_sysyear = l_subyear;

    table_id
    user_name
    sub_date
this query is not giving any error but it is not working as desired..its a simple application..there are 2 pages only with the home page set to 2 in the application definitions..i want to go to the page 3 when it is having the user_name in the user_id_table and to page 2 if it doen not have any information..
the date constraint is to block user to go to the page 2(homepage) if his user information is present in user_id_table..
    can anyone help?

I am using SSO right now..the code is working now...but it is not displaying any thing on home page(2)..it is showing no data found on home page(2)....
as per the query if i try this for no user_info in the table... it wont show me anything on home page...
my process flow is very simple..
There are only 2 pages.. page 2 and page 3 independent of each other...page 2 is default home page..
i m showing a default easy calendar on my home page and page 3 is blank..
the process contraints are..1.) if we have user_id in the table user_id_table for the current year then it will redirect the user to page 3
2.) if we dont have user_id in the table user_id_table for the current year then it will redirect the user to page 2.
its working fine with constraint 1 but for constraint 2 it is showing 'no data found' instead of easy calendar..
also, the process is before header of page 2(home Page) so when we dont have any user_info then it is going into a loop again an again...and it is not showing up anything...which is obviuos..
can u tell me how to resolve it now?
